It's flavorful without feeling heavy and has become my go-to pho spot. I recently stopped in for the first time in over two years and was honestly surprised by how much the place had changed. The Thai tea she recommended was amazing too! Our server, Shyla, was friendly and checked on us throughout the meal. The food also came out in less than 15 minutes which was a big plus! Overall, really good food, great service, and a solid experience. Definitely coming back.

We came in August 30th, around 8PM, nothing really out of the norm, ordered our food, I had gotten the (Bo Luc Lac) or shaking beef, and my wife got the spicy beef and lemongrass soup with noodles as usual. The Shaking beef was inedible, absolutely horrible, I'm not sure what cut of beef is used but it was almost like chewing on a steel toe boot, or perhaps a car tire. Spat it out within moments and sent it back, and got it removed from the tab with the server apologizing nonstop, which of course isn't her fault. 5 minutes later, my wife stares at the bowl like she just had a heart attack, and I glance over, and of course, a dead ROACH. Somehow was in the food, and it didn't float up to the top until HALFWAY she was finished eating. Absolutely vile, I cannot comprehend how a roach even got in there, was it already in the big pot of soup they use for other people's orders? Was it alive in our bowl and the steaming hot broth was poured on top and killed it? Safe to say, we didn't make a massive scene; alerted the server, she promptly got the bowl from us, and we didn't need to touch the tab for obvious reasons. The only issue is I would've loved to have spoken to a manager because this is a major health hazard, and roaches can carry E. Coli and Salmonella... I tipped our server cash regardless of the outcome of the food since this wasn't her fault and she did well in taking care of us, but we will never be back, and I suggest everyone reading this review to go elsewhere. A Cockroach in a restaurant bowl of food for a guest? Imagine how many other guests ATE their food without ever seeing one, or if it was in the massive pot how many guests ate orders without realizing there was a roach being boiled in their food. STAY. AWAY. Just disgusting.

Austin's 100% authentic Vietnamese restaurant. Bun Bo Hue: chewy noodles, fresh big chunks of pork and soft beef. The bowl is made the way I would make it at home, tons of meat. For less than $16, it's the best value to dollar to meal in my opinion more than pho or ramen. It is a bowl full of dark and light spicy flavors of soup. Fresh toppings on top, a big piece of pork blood cake. It's as good as Houston BBH. The banh cuon, man, taste like Vietnam. Fresh fresh fresh rice rolls, not too oily which I appreciate, nice textures of the ground pork which is nicely seasoned, sliced woodear mushrooms, and crispy onions on top. The bean sprouts are nicely steamed and sliced cucumbers add a warranted cooling taste. The nuoc mam for me I want to be saltier, garlic, fish sauce but I can add more spice from the bottles on the table. When you take in a bite of the rice roll, dipped in nuoc mam, it's a taste of Vietnam street food. Plus finish it off with a fresh blanched bean sprout. The price point less than $15 is worth it. Now let's talk about my all time favorite, banh knot. Fried little cakes filled with shrimp, a little bit of coconut milk, green onions and it's a little cup of goodness. Add some nuoc mam and it holds it in the cake. It comes with fresh lettuce, sliced cucumbers, and carrots. Roll it into a little roll, bite into the cake and bite into the vegetable lettuce wrap. It's all time goodness. A 1000% must try. Btw, the dining room and all the utensils are very clean. The plates are also spotless.
