Definitely one of the better pho places in town. Bao Chau and Le Petit Saigon have some serious competition. Parking is available on the street. The place is pretty much brand new as the building opened sometime in late 2015. The interior is brightly lit, and the furniture is trendy as well. The place seems to be run by a family. The parents run the place, while the kids help out. Having no idea what to try, my buddy and I had the Vietnamese omelette. This thing was HUGE. Filled to the brim with toppings, nice and crunchy egg "shell", and served with vegetables and fish sauce. This thing can easily feed 2 people. This is probably one of the best ones I've had in town. Special mention. I also had the Bun bo Hue. Nice spicy broth, plenty of green onion and onion bits. Meat had no gristle. Just thinking about this dish makes me drool. Pricing is a wee bit (maybe $1) more than the competition, but the quality is there. Here's to hoping that the place maintains their standards. Lastly, they accept credit cards here. No way! I will definitely be back. Recommended.

Went back to try the lemongrass chicken and pork. I love that there are no bones. It was delicious and no MSG! I had my usual spring rolls. They come out very very hot. I never leave here thirsty like I do other pho places so kudos to the cook. The owner is so friendly and kind to remember what I had a month ago! She asked if I wanted the same dessert! It's starting to be my go to place as food is great and service is always welcoming.

This place just opened up over a month ago and is run by a really sweet Vietnamese couple. The lemongrass pho noodle soup and spring rolls are amazingly good! The broth was hot and perfectly seasoned, not too salty. Didn't taste like msg either, though I should ask to confirm next time. Their vegetarian pho looks really good too and my partner really liked it. Also had a Bahn Mi which was good but the soups were the winners. The interior is very modern and clean and I can imagine their kitchen is very clean too, unlike some of the neighboring restuarants. There's a lot of options when it comes to pho in the neighborhood but this one seems the cleanest, friendliest and also has great veggie options that the others lack. Highly recommend a try.

Had the pancake. The cook was so nice and made it with my preferred fillings to order. They were crisp and savory!

Cali girl here *wave* I tried a bunch of different places but couldn't really say any was a favorite. I finally asked my nail tech what her favorite place was and she recommended Pho 37 and she was not wrong. Then I remembered that my nail tech will never leave me astray. I only had to try their pho once to know, THIS IS IT. Then I had to get their Bun Bo Hue, just tomake sure. The triple crown will be their Banh Mi, which I'm excited to try next but so far 5 stars all the way. Best Pho broth and the best Bun Bo Hue that I've found so far in the downtown Vancouver area. I'm sure as you fan outside of the city limits that there are just as good options but I've finally found my go to spot close to work and home after 3 months of living here. A plus plus is the huge portions but I also have to commend the meat to noodle ratio is just perfect. This is a cute little spot on Robson. Don't sleep on this one, ladies and gents. Dine in or dining out, don't forget to ask for the chilli garlic oil and garlic vinegar on the side. These condiments will level up any dish!

The only small issue was that it took a little while before someone came to take my order, and I eventually had to wave someone over. It wasn't a big deal, though, especially considering how busy they were. The portions here are huge, especially for the price. The broth was a little sweeter than I personally prefer, but it was very clean, clear, and flavorful. This is what I look for in a good bowl of pho. The noodles were cooked perfectly and had a nice soft texture. I ordered a combination bowl. My only suggestion would be a bit more of tripe and tendon. The tripe was a little sparse, and I honestly didn't realize I had tendon until I was almost finished with the bowl. But I like those, and not a lot of people do. Despite the restaurant being packed, the staff was stayed attentive, kept food coming out quickly, and did a great job taking care of everyone. The atmosphere was casual and welcoming. There was a nice mix of people. Some quietly watching videos on their phones, others catching up over conversation. It felt like the kind of neighborhood spot that attracts everyone. Overall, this is a convenient, affordable place with good pho and generous portions. If I'm in the area again, I'd definitely come back. .

Went in for lunch with my granddaughter, both of us fans of Vietnamese food. Ordered Green Papaya Salad ($12), Lemongrass Chicken on Vermicelli with one spring roll ($17), one lime soda ($6.50) and one pop ($3). Food arrived within minutes of ordering. Portions were very generous. The salad was perfect with everything very fresh, as it should be but often isn't in some places. Plump prawns and the scent and taste of basil was prominent. Delicious! The lemongrass chicken (we ordered extra chicken) with a spring roll was also very generous. We did not finish it between the two of us. Again, all was fresh, tasty and hot. This is one of our standard orders and Pho Goodness did not disappoint. Granddaughter declared it better than at our regular favourite, and Pho Goodness is around the corner from her home and not a bus ride out to Kingsway! Service was friendly and responsive. We asked that the volume be turned off on the massive TV over our heads (which nobody was watching) (it was), requested a glass for the pop and immediately received a tumbler full of ice. Lovely. We have found a new favourite on Davie Street, a true foodie heaven with a collection of independent restaurants of many ethnicities available. We will return to Pho Goodness when the urge for Vietnamese food strikes again.

On a rain-soaked Vancouver night, just before wandering into the soft glow of the annual Lumiere…read moreFestival, we slipped into Hestia Veggie for warmth and a little shelter from the pitter-patter outside. The rain had settled into that familiar Vancouver rhythm, steady and soft, turning the streets into mirrors beneath the city lights. Inside, everything felt worlds away. Gentle lighting washed over the clean, calm interior, and for a moment, the noise of the wet evening seemed to fall away. It was the kind of quiet exhale you only notice after stepping out of the cold. The curry laksa arrived first, a vibrant bowl of yellow curry filled with broccoli, cauliflower, bok choy, vegan shrimp, kale noodles, mushrooms, and coconut milk. Against the grey evening outside, its golden broth looked almost sunlit. It was a dish that seemed perfectly suited to the night, the kind of steaming bowl you imagine wrapping your hands around while rain taps against the windows. The broth was a little watery, but it still carried that small, familiar embrace you reach for on a wet night. The laksa is a dish so many seem to praise, and at first glance, it was easy to understand why. The bright curry, generous vegetables, and colourful ingredients made it look hopeful and inviting. But as we worked our way through the bowl, the balance began to feel a little off. There was considerably more soup than noodles, leaving the dish feeling lighter than expected. The broccoli and cauliflower also had that unmistakable frozen texture, which took away some of the freshness I was hoping for. It wasn't bad, but it felt muted. Like a song that should have been louder, this was a laksa that seemed to have lost a little of its spark somewhere between the kitchen and the table. Then came the smoked eggplant, and suddenly the evening took a more interesting turn. An entire eggplant arrived at the table, beautifully tender and deeply smoky, almost reminiscent of the aroma of a prized cigar. It was topped with Impossible meat, peanuts, salino, and dried shallot, creating a mixture of textures that made every bite feel a little different. The eggplant practically collapsed beneath the fork, its smoky flesh contrasting with the savoury meat and the little bursts of crunch from the peanuts and shallot. The menu mentioned a pineapple sauce, although if it was there, it had quietly disappeared into the background. I couldn't really find it beneath the other flavours. Even so, the eggplant itself had enough character to hold my attention. And then, almost as if the restaurant wanted to remind us exactly why we had come, the Hestia Saffron Curry arrived. This was the moment everything came together. Thick, fragrant, and unapologetically flavourful, the curry carried the kind of warmth that seems to travel beyond the bowl. The saffron shavings melted into the sauce, leaving behind a rich golden colour and an aroma that immediately drew us closer. Beside it sat a little pot of sticky rice, almost ceremonial in its presentation, waiting to be folded into the curry. The sauce clung beautifully to the rice, rich without feeling overwhelming, and each bite brought another layer of fragrance and warmth. There was something deeply comforting about it, the sort of food that doesn't simply fill you up but makes you slow down for a moment. Of everything we ordered that evening, this was easily the standout. Even the space itself seemed to understand the mood. The lighting was thoughtful and warm, the service was friendly, and the menu was broad enough to make you curious about what might be waiting on a future visit. As someone who isn't vegan, I don't often leave a plant-based meal feeling genuinely, completely satisfied. This time, I did. Not just full, but warm in that particular way a good meal can make you feel on a cold night. Eventually, we stepped back outside into the Vancouver rain. The pavement shimmered beneath the festival lights, umbrellas drifted past like dark little sails, and the glow of Lumiere waited somewhere ahead. The cold returned almost immediately, but the warmth of dinner lingered. Walking toward the lights, I found myself thinking less about the dishes that missed the mark and more about that saffron curry, the smoky eggplant, and the feeling of having found a little pocket of warmth on a wet Vancouver evening. Sometimes, that's exactly what you hope a restaurant will give you.

The Garden Rolls were absolutely the #1 worst ones we've ever eaten! We've had hundreds of fresh rolls at dozens of places and sadly, none were as tasteless as these. They consisted of noodles, a bit of flavorless tofu and cucumber. Fresh rolls MUST have at least one or more of the following: fresh mint, fresh cilantro or fresh Thai Basil. Hestia's had NONE!. To add insult to injury, the watery sauce also had NO flavor. To add more insult, they were baggy and poorly wrapped and the innards kept falling out. Not fun and definitely not good. The king oyster mushrooms were very good, but there was a ton of pink mayo dousing it. I would have preferred the sauce be in a separate bowl so we could choose how much dipping we'd like to do. The saffron tofu bowl was sensational! Perfectly spiced and full of a huge variety of well-cooked veggies plus the saffron rice was good too. No one came during our meal to ask if we needed anything or to ask how our meal was. The customer service is in need of some work.

My wife and I stopped in for dinner one evening and each ordered the aforementioned noodle soup--she got a small ($11.75 plus tax) and I got a regular ($12.75 plus tax). We also got an order of salad rolls ($7.50 plus tax), which comes with 2 rolls. The rolls came quite late. They were pretty standard, coming with fried tofu, vermicelli, and lettuce. The peanut dipping sauce was on the liquidy, salty soy sauce side of things -- I wish it were creamier and less salty. 3/5 The soups were decent. The broth was peppery, with some nice, gentle spices detectable in there. I asked for a side of chili oil, which helped amplify the broth. You get a generous portion of noodles, fried tofu, and vegetables (broccoli, bok choy, carrot). Unfortunately the veggies were quite overcooked -- the broccoli was almost soggy, so were the carrots and bok choy. 3/5 All in all, middle-of-the-road veggie pho. The broth is pleasant. The veggies were overcooked, but plentiful and nicely chosen. Decent place for veggie pho.
