a bowl of soup, a bowl of noodles, and a plate of meat rolls
    Chloe T.

Like their spring roll and salad here. Service was really good. Tea was a bit weird tasting, couldn't quite pinpoint the reason. In terms of their beef ball and flank pho... like the beef ball and noodles (albeit very little topping), soup was ok. In terms of their salad roll, it was ok, but I didn't like their sauce. It lacked a bit of sugar and flavouring. I don't like how the added price is not throughout the menu and only out front and a bit sneaky imo.

    Mostly rice "meal" for $15.75

*Awful RipOff* post-lockdowns (July2023): Was Frequent customer before lockdowns. Picked up lunch to find prices up, quality way down, portions way-way down. For $25 lunch before tip: Salad Roll now 1/2 size (diameter) versus pre-lockdowns, cheapskate preparation w zero lemongrass in roll. Then "Meal" mostly rice. Save your hard-earned $ and pickup lunch at Safeway deli nextdoor. Or go somewhere where $/size ratio makes more sense, as other local eateries offer far better value for $. Have friends in food service, so realize cost issues, but this is a total ripoff. Would like to give zero stars.

Lemongrass Pork with Spring Roll (9.50)

Decent Vietnamese joint for this part of town. The customer service here was surprisingly attentive and the food came out within maybe 3-5 minutes of ordering, which is astonishing. The bathroom is also quite clean. I ordered the Lemongarss Pork with Spring Roll (9.50). The pork was a bit on the fatty side, but it meant it was also quite juicy. It had a tasty marinade to it and was nicely grilled. The spring roll was a bit on the greasy side, however. That said, it was quite crispy. Would recommend to the working lunch crowd given how quickly they can churn out food!

I'm a sucker for a good bowl of noodle soup and this place doesn't disappoint. I have to admit that a younger me would never have stepped into this place as this strip mall is notorious for mediocre food. Today, however, I am willing to give this place another chance and it seems like things have taken a turn for the better. My go to is always the special bowl of pho with an additional spring roll for $2. The broth here is flavourful and the meat is plentiful. Sprouts, lime and a small brand of basil comes standard. The spring roll is generously sized and overall delicious. Ice coffee is also good and almost chocolate in flavor. It can be taken to go! Decor is colourful. Music is good. One day I will try other items on their menu but for the time being I will continue to crawl out of bed and migrate here for that comforting bowl of pho. *place is called Kim Express now* *don't forget to grab a Mandarin orange and chocolate on the way out*

This is my flavour place every time I go to Vancouver. Service is good and serve food so fast. Have to try this pork chop on rice.

My must go restaurant when every time I go to Vancouver. (I live in a small town) there are two things I would recommend to try. One is the pork chop on rice (super food) and the other one is there house or special Vietnamese sub. Juicy and fresh.

They also have a bar area. Kind of an Asian French fusion menu. Food dishes were good and creative, but it didn't really appeal to me. I appreciated the good service and chill atmosphere, but not sure if I would come back. I would say that their house made spicy was really good. A mix of sweet, sour, and spicy. Had a brightness to it yet also very, very spicy. Tastes great on many of the dishes, especially if you wanted a nice "kick" to the food. I believe you can order a jar to take home if you wish.

The space is much nicer, with high ceilings and lots of light - great looking bistro. I ended up trying the following: - Mussels: Very good. Classic dish, but I really like the use of cream in the broth. - Bánh Mì Cay Hải Phòng (Spicy Baguette Sticks): Good. A nice little snack, although it would be easy to recreate at home. - Lamb Chops: Very good. Cooked just right, and the pepper sauce added extra flavour. - Fried Frog Legs: Very good. This was probably the surprise dish for me. They weren't just the legs, but the entire bottom of the frog, so the pieces were huge. The garlic, butter and chili flakes gave it a extra punch. I really enjoyed this one. - Pho Bo: Good. Not the best pho I've had, but it's good enough to stand on it's own. Service was quite good. Very cheerful and quite attentive. Overall a nice meal. It's a great space, the food is solid, and service to match. What I really like is having the variety of both French and Vietnamese dishes, without either of them suffering in quality. Only downside is that is it expensive for what you get.

Cali girl here *wave* I tried a bunch of different places but couldn't really say any was a favorite. I finally asked my nail tech what her favorite place was and she recommended Pho 37 and she was not wrong. Then I remembered that my nail tech will never leave me astray. I only had to try their pho once to know, THIS IS IT. Then I had to get their Bun Bo Hue, just tomake sure. The triple crown will be their Banh Mi, which I'm excited to try next but so far 5 stars all the way. Best Pho broth and the best Bun Bo Hue that I've found so far in the downtown Vancouver area. I'm sure as you fan outside of the city limits that there are just as good options but I've finally found my go to spot close to work and home after 3 months of living here. A plus plus is the huge portions but I also have to commend the meat to noodle ratio is just perfect. This is a cute little spot on Robson. Don't sleep on this one, ladies and gents. Dine in or dining out, don't forget to ask for the chilli garlic oil and garlic vinegar on the side. These condiments will level up any dish!

The only small issue was that it took a little while before someone came to take my order, and I eventually had to wave someone over. It wasn't a big deal, though, especially considering how busy they were. The portions here are huge, especially for the price. The broth was a little sweeter than I personally prefer, but it was very clean, clear, and flavorful. This is what I look for in a good bowl of pho. The noodles were cooked perfectly and had a nice soft texture. I ordered a combination bowl. My only suggestion would be a bit more of tripe and tendon. The tripe was a little sparse, and I honestly didn't realize I had tendon until I was almost finished with the bowl. But I like those, and not a lot of people do. Despite the restaurant being packed, the staff was stayed attentive, kept food coming out quickly, and did a great job taking care of everyone. The atmosphere was casual and welcoming. There was a nice mix of people. Some quietly watching videos on their phones, others catching up over conversation. It felt like the kind of neighborhood spot that attracts everyone. Overall, this is a convenient, affordable place with good pho and generous portions. If I'm in the area again, I'd definitely come back. .

Went in for lunch with my granddaughter, both of us fans of Vietnamese food. Ordered Green Papaya Salad ($12), Lemongrass Chicken on Vermicelli with one spring roll ($17), one lime soda ($6.50) and one pop ($3). Food arrived within minutes of ordering. Portions were very generous. The salad was perfect with everything very fresh, as it should be but often isn't in some places. Plump prawns and the scent and taste of basil was prominent. Delicious! The lemongrass chicken (we ordered extra chicken) with a spring roll was also very generous. We did not finish it between the two of us. Again, all was fresh, tasty and hot. This is one of our standard orders and Pho Goodness did not disappoint. Granddaughter declared it better than at our regular favourite, and Pho Goodness is around the corner from her home and not a bus ride out to Kingsway! Service was friendly and responsive. We asked that the volume be turned off on the massive TV over our heads (which nobody was watching) (it was), requested a glass for the pop and immediately received a tumbler full of ice. Lovely. We have found a new favourite on Davie Street, a true foodie heaven with a collection of independent restaurants of many ethnicities available. We will return to Pho Goodness when the urge for Vietnamese food strikes again.

My wife and I stopped in for dinner one evening and each ordered the aforementioned noodle soup--she got a small ($11.75 plus tax) and I got a regular ($12.75 plus tax). We also got an order of salad rolls ($7.50 plus tax), which comes with 2 rolls. The rolls came quite late. They were pretty standard, coming with fried tofu, vermicelli, and lettuce. The peanut dipping sauce was on the liquidy, salty soy sauce side of things -- I wish it were creamier and less salty. 3/5 The soups were decent. The broth was peppery, with some nice, gentle spices detectable in there. I asked for a side of chili oil, which helped amplify the broth. You get a generous portion of noodles, fried tofu, and vegetables (broccoli, bok choy, carrot). Unfortunately the veggies were quite overcooked -- the broccoli was almost soggy, so were the carrots and bok choy. 3/5 All in all, middle-of-the-road veggie pho. The broth is pleasant. The veggies were overcooked, but plentiful and nicely chosen. Decent place for veggie pho.
