You want some noodles in Hilo, this is the place to go. This place has the best noodles and broths I've found on the Big Island so far. It's a little hole in the wall place, but the decor and staff remind of my days traveling through Asia. Try this place... you won't be disappointed. Their chicken pho is soooo good. I love the garlic chili goodness that comes along with it (it's on the side so don't worry about burning your own lips off with spicy things like I prefer to do). If you can't find a table, just wait outside until someone else leaves. No need to put your name in or anything; it's a first come, first serve kind of thing. This is my favorite Vietnamese in Hilo. Their pho is incredible, everything is fresh and every time I go there I am always completely satisfied. It's located perfectly in town, in a busy but not crowded section. The atmosphere is always nice and welcoming and I always leave feeling very happy I went. We came as a group of four, but two of my friends decided that they didn't want pho and went to the Thai restaurant next door. The street parking sucks, I had to circle the block almost a half dozen times to find the parking space. Not much choices; either pho or pho-get it. There's just too much msg in the broth. Great food at affordable price. I've been coming here for almost 4 years. Mind you, I come very often because of the food but my goodness, the service is terrible. There have been many times that my second water fill up would take 20 minutes because the lady isn't paying attention and is on her phone. And for a seat, I had to wait 10 minutes not because of a long line but because about 5 tables were filled with dirty dishes and the lady was just taking orders, making Thai teas, and washing the dishes. When she could've simply cleaned one table, sat us down and take everybody's order all at once. I'm gonna continue coming but I hope something changes for the better. read more

Worst pho experience ever!! I ordered pho tai with tendon, and there was Really only ONE tiny slice of beef, and I could not find the tendon. I asked the store manager nicely if they made my order wrong, and out came the chef, very rudely, and told me that he made it and he put in the tendon, so just look for it! My kids ordered the meatball pho and their little slices of meatball did not even add up to 1 whole meatball! My family and I were utterly shocked by how poor the service is and how bad the food is. Don't make the mistake of going to this restaurant!! It's less than 1 star and I am being generous. read more

This hole in the wall restaurant is a must stop if you're craving Vietnamese food in Hilo. I've had the pho and the beef stew here...the pho is good, but the beef stew is clearly outshines the pho. I'm used to having the beef stew with bread, but it was just as good with the noodles. I love the home made chili sauce they serve with it. read more

This is a cute little hole in the wall restaurant, maybe a little hard to find if you are not from Hilo. it is on a part of Kilauea Ave, that doesn't really seem like it should be Kilauea Ave, at the end, where it turns into Keawe St. Had never heard of it till my last trip to Hilo. I had the pho with beef and flank. Pho is not my favorite food, but my gf loves it, so I have been to quite a few pho places on Oahu. I must say this was the best tasting pho I've had in a while! Broth was hot and very tasty, veggies were fresh and crispy! I wish all pho tasted like this, then I'd be happier to eat it more often! Also had a spring roll, which was crispy and not too oily. This place is terrible, super hot and stuff inside with only 2 fans. Ordered beef stew and pho, both of them only had very few pieces of small meat inside and 2 slices of carrot. Total rip off! Good broth for their Pho! Having lived near Little Saigon for years, we have high bar for Vietnamese food. We were pleasantly surprised by their good broth! They don't give much beef in Pho, but I guess beef must be expensive here in Hawaii! They also don't serve basils with Pho, but maybe they can't buy basils here. read more

We ordered the spring rolls. The rice paper was so thick and chewy that it seemed they must've been made the day before. The rice paper had obviously dried out and had not been kept moist.We complained to the waitress after taking one bite of the two orders and she said basically that was too bad and we would have to pay for the two orders anyway. If you are looking for Pho this place is it. That is the only thing they serve for a main course. Noodles were cooked perfectly, flank steak was bursting with flavor and the broth was perfect. My one year old loved the noodles and broth. So glad we ate at this place. Only negative is that they only have one high chair. read more

The pho is as good as I've had anywhere. The tea is hit or miss. Sometimes they are off their game and brew it too long or something. Now and then they get the amount of condensed milk in the Thai iced tea wrong too. But this is a minor problem in the overall excellence of the food here.
