Maybe not the most authentic Thai food, but still tasty and portions are sizable. Ordered the pad thai and would easily come back to try other menu items.

We were so impressed by our take-out order I couldn't wait to leave a review for this place. We've tried to be responsible during the pandemic and order take out, and we've had some really bad experiences. But our take out from Bangkok Villa was 100%! The chicken pad see ew was fresh and delicious, and so were my spring rolls. And our Thai noodle soup was still hot and delicious. We forgot to request hot sauce when we ordered through door dash so we called the restaurant and she remembered to include it with our order. I know that doesn't sound like much, but as I've said we have had lots of bad experiences. I don't like leaving bad reviews because I know restaurants are trying to adapt in these crazy times. Bangkok Villa is doing a great job! Oh yeah, the Thai Iced Tea was sooo yummy.

Although this is my first experience with Thai food entirely, my boyfriend and I were left very PLEASED and SATISFIED after every time we've eaten here (total 3 times). To start off my boyfriend and I deliver for DoorDash and we'd deliver a lot for this special place and every time their food smelled delicious. So one day while delivering an order for Bangkok Villa's my boyfriend decided to ask the customer he was delivering to if the place was great. They ordered a TON of food at least $80+, so he figured he'd be a good person to ask. Anyways the customer said he'd been to Thailand at least 50 times and the food is very similar. They gave us recommendations to try and we went there that day. Our first order we got the Pad See Ew with Shrimp to share since we werent sure if we were gonna like the food. It was AMAZING. Fresh and made to order, the dish was a HUGE portion (would be at least 2 lunches for me) and they definitely didnt skimp on the Shrimps (also very delicious. The lemon provided squeezed all over just elevates the dish. We were so disappointed we got one plate, (well more so my boyfriend because I ate most of it) haha. Second time we visited which was not too long after probably 3 days later. We got more food, his plate the Pad See Ew with shrimp and I decided to try the Yellow Curry with chicken and Jasmine rice. We also ordered the Shrimp Spring rolls. Everything was yet again made FRESH to order. The Yellow Curry was not too sweet had a nice buttery flavor and again the portion was PLENTIFUL. My boyfriend is creature of habit and gets the same things all the time once he finds what he likes and he got the Pad See Ew again (it'll garanz be his regular when we go). But it was CONSISTENTLY yet again AMAZING. The Spring Rolls were HUGE cut into 6 pieces and you get sweet chili sauce as well. Finally our third time going which is today we were yet again left very satisfied with our food. Boyfriend got the usual, still TATSY and AMAZING. I on the other hand always likes trying new thing and i got the Red Curry this time hoping it would have a little spice kick to it. I chose wisely, I got shrimp with my curry and yes it did have a small kick. Nothing substantial but it complimented the coconut milk in the curry. Im sure theres also halves of jalapeños in the curry, so so so good. I also got the Thai Coffee to try and a piece of advice, mix it good or you'll get a mouth full of sugary black tasting coffee and its not pleasant but once I mixed it well the coffee was absolutely yummy. Owners are very kind and you can tell the Wife puts a lot of care into her dishes. Such a great place to grab DELICIOUS FRESHLY made food.

The lunch special is served with an Asian side salad that has a vinaigrette dressing, which was a nice way to start the meal. The curry itself was also great. Portions are large, and the curry is served with a side of rice. The dish has a lot of veggies, a lot of flavor, and a perfect kick of spice. Seems to be a local favorite during the workweek for people who work in the area, and I can see why!

The restaurant wasn't super crowded, so we were able to get seated right away. For three of us, we shared the green papaya salad, pork basil, green curry, and pad kee mao. I loved the variety of the food. You can never go wrong with a Thai noodle dish, and the pad kee Mao was definitely my favorite. The noodles were the perfect texture and very flavorful. The papaya salad had a good crunch, and the green curry was delicious. The pork basil dish was a little interesting, and I would probably skip this the next time. Overall, this meal hit the spot, and I would definitely come back here if I'm craving Thai food.

It was very hot inside without AC, which was unfortunate, but otherwise it was not bad. The noodle soup had great flavor, good comfort food. The chicken was a bit tough and dry though. The green curry had excellent flavor. The prices are pretty low (plates around or under $15)! Service was excellent, they were very quick and attentive. I chose to enjoy a meal at a place that's tied with deep sentimental value. Where stories were shared, memories were created with my late grandmother. This was her favorite Thai restaurant when I was a kid. A bit smaller than their original location but still offering a feeling of nostalgia. It used to be located on Mamo Street known as Royal Siam Thai Restaurant. A name change happened years later to Hilo Siam Thai Restaurant, when a brother and wife duo from the same family took over. It's still located in historic Downtown Hilo, now on Furneaux Lane. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ The ambiance is simple. Intimate and casual yet comfortable. The high ceiling drew my eyes upward creating the illusion of grand volume in a small space. Would softer lighting and decorative elements elevate the prevailing feeling or tone, adding a stylish touch in dramatic fashion I thought? As I sat down on one of three tables, the ocean breeze gently whisked through the front door. Delightful. Friendly and attentive service from start to finish from the owner who took my order. As he diligently managed multiple takeouts phoning-in and picking-up on both visits. Ice cubes in our water would've been nice yet, glasses were constantly refilled and never left empty. It felt like I was dining in someone's home with the kitchen nearby just steps away. The husband + wife team were at the helm of every menu item I ordered, as I peeked into the kitchen from an outside jalousie window. Here, food is their main focus and they delivered well beyond my expectations. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ "Green Papaya Salad" Vibrant and crunchy from shredded green papaya, julienne of carrots + tiny pieces of chopped peanuts. Complex and refreshing yet with minimal heat coming through. I have to appreciate the labor involved, shredding each papaya by hand for one order. The sauce, a harmonized balance of sweet, sour and tangy notes. $10.95 as of March 2026. "Eggplant w/ Sweet Basil & Pork" "Basil Beef w/ Bell Peppers" Distinct flavor layering, extremely fragrant. I enjoyed the scent first, then allowed the flavors to pop as a result of fresh basil. A savory sauce coats an ample amount of finely sliced pork and pieces of tender eggplant on one dish, beef with bell peppers (no round + green onions request) on the other. This one played with my senses. Bold aromatics. $13.95 as of March 2026. "Yellow Curry with Beef" Herbaceous and earthy notes without the spicy elements. Aromatic with generous amounts of sliced beef only paired with potatoes. A premium feel. Hearty, warm and rich as the spices of the curry come through vibrantly. $13.95 as of March 2026. "Buddha Rama with Chicken" The defining element, a rich and savory peanut sauce. Creamy and complex with a handful of underlying flavors. Highly irresistible, extremely addicting. Tender pieces of chicken and spinach, with chopped peanuts adding a delightful crunch to each spoon-full. A distinct flavor profile. This one was grandma's favorite, it's now mine. $13.95 as of March 2026. Order a bowl of fragrant steamed Jasmine rice on the side and Pad Thai Noodles with your choice of protein like me. Compliment your meal with a glass of Thai Iced Tea topped with sweet condensed milk as well. Don't forget to order your spice level. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Culinary execution with care, delicious flavors from exotic spices and ingredients. Keeping operational costs to a minimum, allowing Hilo Siam Thai Restaurant to price menu items lower than others in-town while offering generous portions. A cozy, homey setting with close and friendly service. Discover the time to find parking and enjoy lunch + dinner at specific times throughout the week like I did. Dine-in or call-in your order for takeout. Hilo Siam Thai Restaurant, a hole-in-a-wall worth finding. A delicious hidden gem, uniqueness in a tucked-away setting.
