This is the place to go if you are looking for Northerner Pho (Phở Bắc). I got a bad experience when I tried this a few days after they opened, however, I gave it a second chance and it completely changed my mind. The broth is just right and flavorful and not too fatty. The pho's broth is outstanding- the taste is pure bone broth - no mixing of anything else except what you get from bone broth!! I love it with the small noodle because it's chewy, but most of my family love the fresh noodle (bigger rice noodle). Either way you just can't go wrong!!! We were in little Saigon this weekend buying Vietnamese snacks and were looking for a place to have lunch. It was cold and cloudy, perfect for pho but we wanted to try a new place. I searched and found this restaurant, we drove there and there was a big soft opening sign with a line out front. Good sign. The wait was about 30 mins for two? The pho here is cooked northern style where they use little to none star anise, etc spices. At least I barely tasted any spices. They add a lot of green onions. My boyfriend and I both got the #2 where they stir fry the beef in garlic (and onions?) then add it to the pho. I've never had this type of pho before but we were really pleasantly surprised how much we liked it. The broth is light and just very different than pho we usually eat. It was a nice change. If you get the stir fry version I think it adds extra depth to the broth and meat. I made a dipping sauce of siracha, hoisin and the juice from the pickled garlic to dip the meat in. Omg so good! Don't forget to eat your pho with the pickled garlic. It is like an explosion of flavors. I would say 4 stars for the food (portion is a bit small) and 3.5 for atmosphere (tables were kind of dirty, order takers weren't that clear) but it is their soft opening so I think with some time they Will be successful. Would recommend! Ps. I saw that they have a location in Tokyo, Japan! Not 100% sure if it's the same owners but We are going there in March and will be trying :) read more

This place is known for making northern style Vietnamese pho. Its quite unique because they stir fry the ribeye with garlic on the wok first before transferring it onto the soup dish. The soup is a bit bland in my opinion but it's complemented by garlic and onion flavoring. It's savory and not that salty; pretty sure there's ton of msg. The bowl is filled with green onions, which I like because it offers a nice umami kick. It's different, but still good. I prefer pho 79 though. The restaurant is clean and I like how they organize the sauces, bowls, and chopsticks with those wooden dividers. It has a nice Asian aesthetic and it makes me feel like I'm eating in Vietnam, lol. This spot serves a lighter broth with more onions in it. This place focuses on a northern style pho broth and doesn't leave you feeling heavy. I never had a pho broth like this and enjoyed it quite well! I got their Pho Tai Nam Gau (rare steak with brisket and fatty brisket). A lot of onions and herbs with this pho and they also have fresh flat noodles which I like over the original southern style noodles. My family is from the south so we don't typically go out to eat northern style pho but it was an absolute experience. Their pandan milk wasn't that good for me. I was expecting 7leaves mungbean milk tea but did not get that flavor. Either way, I think that this place is definitely a spot I would add to my list of pho places I would regularly go to. read more

Great tasting pho. One of the better spots I've been to and I've been to many. I personally think it's better than the renowned Pho 79 but everyone has their own opinion. I've waited to post this update to see if the improved cleanliness and sanitation seemed to stick, and it looks like it has. The last several times I have come here I have not considered the dining area to be filthy, and tables appear to be bussed promptly. Seats are wiped-off. The white leather chairs still aren't as white as they were when new, but I think we all saw that coming. As for the food, they keep making changes to their menu to accommodate the more prevalent Southern Vietnamese palate of OC, and in the process it's becoming less obvious that this place offers something different. My family and I have been here a few time and most of the times the employees are very respectful and kind. Long story short, my husband was using the bathroom (number 2) and there was someone outside (another customer) wanted to get in and my husband told them it was occupied in both Vietnamese and English, but they continued to knock on the door. The customer then talked to the employee about the occupied bathroom, and the employee then used his key to open the bathroom door but failed to knock to check if anyone was inside. When he opened the door and saw someone in there, the employee did not say sorry at all. When confronted, the employee blamed on my husband for not locking the door, but that does not make sense as to how the other customer couldn't get in in the first place. The whole thing could have been easy handled by apologizing but instead the employee wanted to fight my husband after violating his privacy. Be careful when using the bathroom as the employees will barge in!! read more

So good! One of the only pho places that have northern style pho. Traditionally, it is not served with Sriracha or hoisin sauce, but they do have these here. I really enjoyed the broth with the pickle garlic and jalapeños. I got the stirfry beef and it was great. my absolute favorite pho place because they are CONSISTENT. popular spots like holic 85 76 have gone down in quality in terms of their broth and the meat that they use for filet mignon. pho thin has never failed me, they use actual filet mignon meat and they put alot of it too. my mom loves their pho tai lan truyen thong, which i honestly still dont know what it is but i think it is cooked a bit or something? i tried it once but i didnt like it because its strong of like garlic or soemthing, but if you like that then get it. i love their filet mignon personally. i think they only have fat pho noodles here, not small ones. it is so soft and easy to eat. their broth is simple and no overpowering. because it is northern style not southern. service here is like whatever its just viet dudes. something to note tho is that they use these wood STICKS as chopsticks but very rustic vintage old feel ig. oh and their spoons are like shallow which i actually rly like. the only have paper straws... and their green onions are cut BIG which my mom absolutely lovess. overall great place i love read more

We are so disappointed for attitude servers today. We went there and order 2 Pho, 1 coffee and 1 warm water; add more lemons. At first, the order was a little bit attitude, we understand why he was like that for the busy time. Later on, the water server brings out 1 coffee and A cup of Cold water, and no react, just leave there and go away. We thought he made a mistake. Later in they bring Pho, my husband remind them the 2rd time to give us more lemons and warm water. At the end, they bring lemons, AND NO WARM WATER for me. This is not the first time, I came Pho Thin to eat. We love pho Thin and we ate for over a year, but the attitude servers is too bad gradually. Before they are nice and sweet.
