I really enjoyed the huge portions and the meat was pretty fresh and tasty! The only knock I have on this place is the broth isn't as clean and flavorful as some of the other places in OC. Pho Thin is famous in Vietnam, their quality & craftsmanship was felt when they first opened in Westminster two years ago. Though their product quality has dropped recently in 2026. Meat quality is still high thankfully, though quantity is less. Noodles are still excellent, broth is unique and rich. As a lifelong Pho enjoyer their broth actually elevates. For tonight, I had : Pho Nam, gau & bo vien Vinegar onions (we mixed it with hoisin, lemon & sriracha) Fatty broth with green onions And to too everything off, an iced tea. The thing that I value most in a Vietnamese restaurant (besides the taste of the food) is the herbs. This place seems careful in cleaning their herbs and I can safely say that after eating here multiple times, I can eat here without feeling like I need to put their vegetables under a microscope. Our pho came out in a couple of minutes after ordering and super hot, which is amazing when typically some places take so long to serve and your food comes out kind of hot/warm. I was craving some Northern-style pho, so my brother and I decided to make the drive to Pho Thin. It has been a while since I had Pho Thin and lowkey is disappointed in myself for not going here more often! We went around 7pm on a Friday and there wasn't much line. I got the #1 with everything while my brother got the #2 with the big beef rib. The broth was so flavorful and beefy. There was so much meat in each bowl! We also got a side of fried donut to share. Although the #2 was good, it didn't have the tái lăn (stir fried beef) in it. I personally think their tái lăn is their specialty and what they are know for! The #1 has it and it was SOOOOO GOOD!! Since they use fresh noodles (wider compared to traditional pho noodles), I find that it is a great takeout option to reheat at home. I always call ahead to place my order of their #1. I've had Pho Thin in Hanoi and Melbourne, and this was just as delicious as I remembered. The northern style pho is more green onion heavy, and a lighter broth that is more mild in spice flavor. Also the beef slices are very tender and don't come in as much variety as the southern style pho. Also the rice noodles are the super fresh and soft rice noodles which are my favorite. Pho Thin served the best Pho I have had so far in the US. Our friend took us here for breakfast before our early flight. They open really early in the morning (8am) which is similar to many restaurants in Vietnam. There is a parking lot in front of the restaurant and it was almost empty the day we went but it could get crowded during the day. The space inside is not very big but there are still many tables, maybe because it's early morning. Everything is clean and decorated nicely to give the Vietnamese vibe. This restaurant serves the northern Vietnamese style pho which I normally am not a fan of. However, the way they made the pho noodles, the broth, and the stir-fried beef was so authentic that it tasted better than all other pho places I have tried so far in the US. In overall, it is one of the best restaurants I have tried in CA. Location, hours, price, and food quality are all top-notch that I will definitely come back for more. read more

Delicious! We alternate between here and pho holic as their broth types are different. I always get the number 1 here for all the special mix of meats which includes their garlic beef specialty. You also have to try the pickled garlic they have set out on the table. The way they fry their oil stick (you tiao - not sure what it's called on their menu in Vietnamese) keeps it really crispy and delicious to dip. It comes in an order of three small pieces. The pho here was the BEST pho I have had in my past 10 years of eating pho in LA and OC. This is a place specializing in Northern-style pho. The broth is the star of the show. The pho broth here tasted so clean and light but still had a perfect fragrant flavor. The beef pieces were perfectly tender. For their pho, they used the flat rice noodles which tasted lighter and went really well with the clean and light pho broth. Maybe I just like Northern-style pho more but I have to say the pho here is a contender for the best pho in OC. I think they have the potential to become as popular as Phoholic. Even my friend who's from Vietnam said the pho here is one of the closest to the pho back in Vietnam. FIRE! One of my favorite pho places in all of Little Saigon. Why? It is one of the only places that does northern style pho and they do it right. The pho combo is $16 and it only comes in one size. I have sat on this review update for too long, I might as well get it out of my system. The 1st time I had Pho THIN, I had an out of body experience I told myself, WHOA! I pinch myself, was it real? The broth was oily but what the heck, it was so good, you only live once (YOLO!! LOL!) They told me it was Hanoi style, whatever, read further, now all of a sudden, there are copy cats everywhere. LET ME TELL YOU CATEGORICALLY THERE WAS NOT SUCH A THING as Hanoi style or Saigon style but whatever works is fine w me. PHO by definition is a HANOI invention, the same way as BUN BO HUE is a HUE invention. My 2nd time trying was so so but my 3rd and 4th and fifth is UNMISTAKABLY a bait and switch and they need to be called out before they would lose their customers, I realize many young Vietnamese had never been to Hanoi or even Saigon, furthermore they don't have a keen sense of what Pho was all about, I'm not going to argue w anybody who disagree w me, my brother used to own a restaurant in SD and my sister in law owns a restaurant in Paris, everybody here put ginger in Pho Bo, it should be only in Pho Ga. I also do not taste anise in the broth but it's not important as what I will explain here. The 1st 2 times, overnight the broth was condensed, it meant the broth had all bones and beef cooking some 10 hrs, subsequent times the broth overnight was watery = little bone, broth from can or too diluted, not oily either bc not enough substance. I felt disrespected, I had told them I'd eat at home so there was no reason to give me lukewarm broth and worse yet, the sautéed beef WAS COLD OUT OF THE FREEZER! They did this to the wrong person, I'm a galloping gourmet! And you can take anything I review to the bank, it's detailed and as accurate as possible, I do not let anything influencing my review. The lady I talked to, not sure if she was the owner or not, she was very nice so I strucked up a conversation and asked her about Mr THIN, why I never heard of him, never saw him, she smiled and said well, he didn't live here, whoa and I thought he was in the kitchen, I got to meet almost every chef in most restaurants, people enjoyed meeting me and I like to compliment the chefs, I met all the chefs on every cruise ship! I used to sell encyclopedias in college and 9 years real estates, I'm a people person, I asked further there was no such thing as the Hanoi style, she admitted I was right, it was Mr THIN invention, I really admired him for his genius idea, after all there are thousand of Pho stores, his is unique until copied by so many people. She told me he came to Little Saigon to teach the chef to cook his style then went home, apparently he got paid for the copy right and is not in any way shape or form involved afterwards. OK so you get the entire story about this mysterious Hanoi Pho. I could not eat what was sold to me, cold broth, watery and tasteless, pennywise but pound foolish. I live here long enough to know many people made a huge mistake in trying to save money, it doesn't work in the end it will backfire, 3 stars are really generous. I'll go to VN next year and will look up his pho resto in Hanoi to congratulate him. Used to be very good, but this place has gotten a lot more popular lately and the service/food quality has been going down. The two pictures I included show my first bowl a year ago versus the latest pho bowl.As you can see, they substitute most of the green onion for cilantro and cheap out.
