Vermicelli was a 3.5 as it was fresh and a good serving (4) but the grilled pork was on the cooler side and didn't taste as crisp and fresh off the grill as you'd expect (3). Best part of the pho was the broth as it wasn't too salty like it can be sometimes elsewhere (4). Veggies were super fresh. Sliced beef was previously sliced and the whole chunk was placed in so you had to tease apart the slices from each other which was a little different than my experiences elsewhere. SKIP THE SPRING ROLLS. Picture had three shrimps/roll. Ours had 1/roll on one side with a slice of pork (I think) on the other. Seemed pretty skimpy if you ask me (2.5 at best). Service was good (4). Location was in a small strip mall with a Mexican and Indian place next door. The bars over nearly the entire front storefront were definitely interesting. For an out-of-towner, this part of Kent seems like a Santa Ana/Westminister/Garden Grove of OC, CA kind of an area with different ethnic offerings up and down the street.

There was a a whole clump of hair under our table and hair hanging from the chairs. I dropped my daughter's blanket on the floor and my husband picked it up and he it had a pubic hair on it. The tables were not wiped off and the bathroom was a disaster zone. I mean if this is what they think their customers should deal with can you imagine what the kitchen looks like. **Exquisite Pho Experience at Pho Saigon, Kent WA** Having lived in Vietnam for over 20 years and being a native New Yorker, my standards for Vietnamese cuisine are high. Recently, I had the pleasure of dining at Pho Saigon in Kent, WA, and it was an experience that truly impressed me. Pho Saigon captures the essence of authentic Vietnamese dining while catering perfectly to its metropolitan clientele. The restaurant's ambiance is inviting, reminiscent of the vibrant eateries found in Vietnam's bustling cities. What truly stood out was their pho. As someone who has savored this iconic dish across Vietnam, I can confidently say that Pho Saigon serves the best pho I've ever had outside of Vietnam. The broth was meticulously prepared, with subtle hints of star anise and cinnamon infusing every spoonful. It struck the perfect balance between richness and clarity, evoking memories of the best bowls I've had in Saigon. The noodles were cooked to perfection, maintaining a satisfying chewiness, and the thinly sliced beef was tender and flavorful, a testament to the chef's skill and attention to detail. Beyond their exceptional pho, Pho Saigon offers a menu that celebrates the full spectrum of Vietnamese cuisine. From delicate fresh spring rolls bursting with herbs to crispy banh xeo filled with savory goodness, each dish showcases the restaurant's commitment to authenticity and quality. Service at Pho Saigon was impeccable, with knowledgeable staff who were eager to ensure a memorable dining experience from start to finish. For anyone in Kent, WA, looking to experience authentic Vietnamese flavors, Pho Saigon is a must-visit. Whether you're a seasoned aficionado or new to Vietnamese cuisine, prepare to be impressed by dishes that are both comforting and exhilarating. My visit to Pho Saigon reaffirmed why Vietnamese cuisine continues to hold a special place in my heart, no matter where I am in the world. In summary, Pho Saigon is more than just a restaurant; it's a tribute to Vietnam's rich culinary traditions, executed with passion and finesse. I look forward to returning to Pho Saigon to explore more of their menu and indulge in another bowl of their exceptional pho. read more

If you like poor customer service and bland pho, this is your spot. I really wanted to like this place, but the experience just wasn't great. I went here back several years ago but wanted to give it a try again. I get that running a small business is hard, but hearing the owner keep saying he's doing everything himself and working hard doesn't really excuse a bad experience. From a customer perspective, you still expect a certain level of service. The menu was also confusing. They have combination fried rice listed but don't actually serve it. That should just be removed or updated because it's misleading. The outdoor setup wasn't ideal either. The front door was boarded up and not fixed, which made the place feel a bit run down. Service could definitely be better. The guy with the ponytail came off a little condescending. We had to wait just to place our order, and when we asked, we were basically told we'd have to wait instead of it being handled a bit more professionally. We also had to ask for ice water, which I feel like should be offered or at least asked. It's a small thing but it adds up. I'm honestly not sure how some of the high reviews are so positive because it didn't match our experience. I do hope they make some adjustments and improve because there's potential if they fix the basics. If you're nearby, I'd recommend Lang Viet down the street. They actually serve what's on their menu and the experience is a lot more consistent. read more

Pho Saigon Garden is hands down one of the best spots for Vietnamese food in Des Moines! The pho is rich, flavorful, and super comforting--exactly what you want on a chilly day. Their spring rolls and banh mi are also top-notch, always fresh and packed with flavor. But what really makes this place special is Paul, the owner. He's one of the friendliest and most welcoming people you'll ever meet. You can tell he genuinely cares about his customers and puts his heart into running the restaurant. Every time I've been there, he's gone out of his way to make sure everyone is happy and taken care of. The whole vibe of the restaurant is warm and inviting, and the service is always on point. If you're in the area and craving some amazing Vietnamese food, you've got to check out Pho Saigon Garden. You won't be disappointed! read more

I was really hoping to enjoy my visit to [Pho Saigon, especially since it's a family-owned business run by a very kind man who does it all himself. Unfortunately, the experience fell short in several ways. The ambiance was quite rundown and not well-kept, making it hard to feel comfortable. The food was disappointingly tasteless, lacking the vibrant flavors one expects from a good pho. While I appreciate the effort the owner puts in, the long wait time was a direct result of him being the only one running the show, which made the experience even less enjoyable. The prices are lower than at other places, but considering the quality of the food, it's just not worth it. I really wanted to like this place, but it felt like time had stopped 20 years ago. Unfortunately, I can't recommend it based on this visit. read more

My quest in life is to find THE BEST PHO! So far the BEST Pho I've found is at the Pho Saigon Garden, on Pacific Highway South, between Des Moines and Federal Way. Now, the PHO here is the best I've ever tasted, but the rest of the menu is excellent as well. The Fresh Rolls are OUTSTANDING! (Both the pork & the shrimp). The rice plate itself was tasty; the grilled beef short ribs looked burnt but still tasted as if they had all the seasoning as I like, and the meat still pulled off the bone easily, so it definitely wasn't overcooked. I came here with my boyfriend for dinner, we hadn't eaten anything all day, and we were starving. The place had one other person inside, so we got seated quickly. Upon sitting down, I grabbed utensils from the utensil container, and they were all dirty. I had to rinse them in my water cup and wipe it down before using. I got the regular size Pho Tai for $15~, my bf got the beef teriyaki, extra meat for $20~. I thought it was weird how they also charge extra if you want extra lime or cilantro/onions, I've never seen a pho restaurant do that... My pho was more like a small size compared to other places, with less than an average portion of meat. My meat was tough to chew and dry. The soup was very oily. On top of that, my pho was served with a strand of hair. Thankfully, I saw it before I started eating, our server was kind and brought out a new bowl of pho. However, that was not the only issue; the beef teriyaki was just as underwhelming as my pho. It looked more like a beef stir fry, and the beef was even TOUGHER to chew. If I could give more stars, I would. Highly recommend Rose Pho, think they're my new go-to spot…read moreafter landing in SEA-Tac. I'm usually craving something hearty and comforting after tough travel days, and after one particular trip we decided to try this place, so glad we did. The food tastes like what you expect, but what stood out to me was that you could tell they make everything fresh with quality ingredients. Plus, because the food wasn't too greasy, everything was pretty fresh. The pho came out just right, and they have a large variety on their menu, from Bánh mì to pho to rice and noodle dishes plus boba teas, smoothies, and half a page of desserts. Rose, the owner, personally greeted us and answered any questions we had. The other servers were just as helpful and friendly, everyone here was so lovely. Rose even gave us a little tea package of about 5 teas as a "goody" treat to take home. It was wild. I had never been to a place in or near Seattle where the owner was this sweet and loving to us. She even prayed over us, it was so nice. She basically knew most customers who walked in, and you can tell everyone here is super dedicated to the community. The restaurant is in a plaza with access to plenty of parking, and the restaurant itself is super nice and clean. Love that they even have a little garden in front that they were tending to while we were there. Highly recommend if you're in the area!

I've tried so many different pho places but this is by far the most impressive in terms of taste…read moreand flavor. I've confirmed with the staff that they don't use msg because the soup tastes so good! I also didn't feel tired or super thirsty a few hours later so that's also a really good sign they didn't put msg or a lot of salt. Combination pho (5/5) Unbelievable taste, lots of flavor, soup came out piping hot and lots of fresh ingredients and meat. The noodle itself is also cooked perfectly. Vermicelli with pork and egg rolls (5/5) The pork is very tender and tastes delicious, the sauce that comes with it is not overly salty and you don't need to pour so much since the noodles and ingredients taste very flavorful already. The service here matches the amazing flavors. They are very attentive and always make sure we are happy the entire meal. The place looks very clean and well decorated. I would definitely want to come back and try everything on the menu!
