NJ started limited indoor dining so we decided to try their beef pho after longing for it for months. Excellent, legit pho, as good as what you will find in Bergen County and most of NYC. The broth is excellent and not overly spiced. The Pad Thai was also very good - I would order Pho over it all day but sometimes you have that friend who doesn't like Pho. The Vietnamese Salad with Shrimp, although I did wish they did it with papaya. From the service to the food this was an all around 5. I didn't have to ask for a single refill of water, and my glass was never fully empty to begin with. My waitress was so friendly. She was also handling take out orders. In regards to my meal 10 out of 10! I ordered the crispy spring rolls and the beef pho. The spring rolls were piping hot, the ingredients were perfectly arranged where you could taste every single ingredient. The rice vinegar sauce paired extremely well with the spring rolls which contained minced pork in them. The pho was fire!!!!! The broth was so flavorful, it bought so much comfort to my soul. The beef was tender and the vegetables and herb additions they keep on the side, which I enjoy to determine my depth of flavor. The noodles were perfectly cooked. As soon as I finished my meal not even a minute after the waitress came over to clear my table, and at that point I asked for my check. Our tried and true Vietnamese spot closed down recently and the two others ones that are close by are just not the greatest. Although 10 minutes further away, we decided to give Pho Saigon a try and we're so glad we did! The soups (special pho and bun no hue) had great flavor and were well balanced. The noodles and veggies were packed separately. A little word of warning, however. If you don't like spicy, let them know so they don't mix the hoisin and sriracha together. Solid place to grab pho in the area. This is a no-frills Vietnamese restaurant that's consistent with friendly service. They also do a swift takeout business. I like that their menu has photos and that they can easily accommodate substituting vegetarian options. I usually start off with fresh rolls and get the vegetarian and tofu pho. The pho is full of veggies like bok choy and carrots in addition to the standard toppings. This is my go-to spot for solo dining since my husband doesn't care much for pho. I plan to try out the vermicelli bowls and bahn mi eventually but so far I've been satisfied with all of my visits. read more

Nothing beats pho on a chilly winter night. I arrived during their break and was bummed and ready to go to a nearby restaurant but saw 7 people come up to the restaurant within just a few minutes so clearly it's a popular spot and j couldn't miss it. The steamed dumplings we got were tasty but if you really want one thing that's amazing, stick with their Spicy Lemongrass soup. Sooo good. Went for the Bahn Mi Sandwich. My wIfe has me taste her pho. I was amazed. Second visit I ordered chicken pho. Found it a less intense flavor from the beef pho I tried last time. I was surprised the noodles were clumped all together at the bottom of the broth. Is that normal? My wife ate the entire bahn mi. We've ordered delivery from here 4 times now and every time has been great. Fried Spring Rolls: 4/5 They arrived crispy (even after delivery!), well-seasoned porky filling with all the usual lettuce & pickled radish/carrot to wrap. -1 for small portions for the price. Pho: 4/5 The portions and meat-to-noodle ratios are great. -1 for the pho broth being a tad too sweet. Banh Mi: 4/5 I grew up in Brooklyn, and having moved to Bergen county I have MISSED having a good banh mi around. We've tried both the classic and the roast pork ones, and they're both pretty solid. Jalapeños are served on the side. -1 as I think there could be more meat. Roast Pork on Rice or on Vermicelli: 5/5 Two of my go-to dishes when getting Viet, Pho Saigon does not disappoint. Both come with generous portions of tender pork and a side of fish sauce. Highly recommend. Iced Viet Coffee: 5/5 what can I say. Nothing beats this especially when you thought you could handle jalapeños in your banh mi and your mouth is on fire. :P TLDR don't be afraid to get the non-pho items even though it says pho in the name! read more

I found this place while browsing on GrubHub looking for somewhere to get lunch. Finally a Vietnamese spot in Hackensack! I called and ordered and order for pickup and was told 10 minutes. Upon pulling up, I realized it was the old Wondees place. I found parking with no issues and walked in. The inside had been remodeled (thank goodness) and was bright. Not decorated though.... hopefully they'll add some decorations. It was very clean though. My food was ready but i didn't meet the credit card minimum of $10 (the Beef Pho is $9 plus tax)....so I ordered a can of Sprite ($2 - way too much). I drove back to work pretty excited because I hadn't had Pho in a few years. When I got back to work, I noticed 2 containers in the bag. One with the broth, onions and cilantro, then another with the noodles. On top on the noodles, in the same container, were bean sprouts mint leaves, a lime, a couple of jalapenos and sauce (it was Hoisin and Sriracha in the same container.... although it kind of stayed separate on each side). I added everything of course. It tasted really really good! As I said earlier, I hadn't had Pho in like 4 years so I don't remember how it's supposed to taste. Seemed right though. I do feel like the broth could've been a little more rich and had a little more depth to the flavor. Pretty darn tasty though and I will definitely go back. 2 complaints: no lunch specials and soda is too expensive. read more

Came here for take out on opening night. I had been driving by for several weeks waiting for them to open. Greeted by the friendly owner, who said this was his second location, his first being in Fort Lee. While the front of the house was a little unprepared (register not working, not able to take credit cards) the wife's food was very good. They serve their crispy spring rolls with lettuce for wrapping and a sweet & sour sauce versus a fish sauce. The chicken pho was good, but my daughter prefers the broth clear, with sliced chicken and noodles on the side. Here the chicken is shredded in the broth along with bits of onion, scallion, lemongrass etc. and a side of noodles. Wonton soup was served deconstructed, which was nice as it kept the wontons from getting soggy. Vermicelli platter was good. Best thing was the shaken beef, tender and flavorful. We did miss the watercress this is usually served with, as they opted for romaine lettuce. Not sure if that was opening night supply issue, or how they normally serve it. Visited here for lunch on a cold gloomy day. Ordered the spicy lemon grass soup which comes with beef. Had a good all around flavor, but not what I expected from a lemon grass soup. It lacked the lemon grass flavor that you find in Thai restaurants. First time having it in a Vietnamese restaurant, so not sure if this is the way its done Vietnamese style. The staff definitely takes after the owner because when I asked if I can speak to the manager, she tells me he's not here. My favorite beef Pho in the area! We also got the summer rolls which was really good with the peanut sauce. Their thai tea with added boba is perfect and sweet. LOVE this viet spot! Been a patron here for a long time and i have to say that this is one of the BEST spots for authentic vietnamese food in the entire East Coast. This place is one of those small hole-in-the-wall spots that amazes you when you step inside. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting. The staff are all so sweet, attentive, and welcoming. The owners are a lovely couple who put in lots of effort and love into their craft. This spot is often busy so there can sometimes be a wait, but let me tell you- Its worth the wait!! Every dish is a hit: from the banh mis, to the phos, stir-fried dishes, apps and the bubble teas. My go to is their very special Beef Pho- one of the richest yet light broths to exist. I can eat this soup multiple times a week- thats how good it is. Paired with their hand-rolled spring rolls/ and or summer rolls, along with a viet coffee or taro bubble tea - it is the perfect meal to leave you satisfied and smiling. The staff are highly conscious of COVID safety and i notice them clean, sanitize, and change gloves frequently. I would go as far as to say that this is one of the best restaurants ive ever been to. I am not from the area and was in the neighborhood for business. I needed to grab a quick bite before getting back on the road. Before sitting down, I asked to see a Menu. I had never had Vietnamese food before, and I was a little hesitant at first (I'm kind of a plain guy and don't really try new foods often) however, the staff was really cool and eager to broaden my horizon. I ordered the Banh. I had never even heard of Banh before and didn't know the Vietnamese were revolutionizing the sandwich world. I thought it was going to be small, so I also ordered the Spring roll appetizer. I have had spring rolls before, but these were crunchy little treasures. There were seven or eight of them (I can't remember, they were devoured quickly). They were served with some pickles and stuff but whatever that sauce . . .boy I tell you what. . .I could drink the stuff. Anyway, My Banh came and I my jaw hit the floor. The thing was definitely enough for two people to eat (I did fine all by myself though). It was just really good. The taste was there and the bread it was served on was nice. Bottom line, this was a nice surprise. I work on the road and I usually get the run of the mill take out or pizza. Today, I tried something new and it paid off.
