People who think this is good 'phở' have never tasted proper pho in their life. Hard to sound softer when I can hardly recognize the dish - I was born and raised in Vietnam. As you notice many of the reviews here are from non-Vietnamese, which probably explained why they think this is good. Vietnamese Americans you will also have opinions depending on where you grow up but if you're from CA and have high standard for pho, avoid this place. And Vietnamese from Vietnam save your money, I was so offended at the first taste and struggled to finish the bowl. The broth (the soul of pho) was unbelievably bland, the broth wasn't even hot enough to cook the meat, which was both a safety issue and that ruined the entire core of pho lol you're supposed to cook the meat with the hot broth. Everything is bland, the beef tasted like nothing also. And the beef is so hard to chew and has an ugly color instead of the rosy brown it should have. I don't know what specific feedback to give since the whole dish is unsaveable. If the restaurant is willing to fix this they would need to book a plane ticket to Vietnam and learn to cook the dish properly, please. You cannot keep advertising this as Vietnamese food. I visited this restaurant last week with my family while we were in Boston, excited to try Vietnamese food for the first time. The food was okay, and the place was packed, so I guess the pho must be good, but we didn't really have anything to compare it to. The service was awful! At first, our waitress seemed friendly, but her patience quickly wore thin as we asked questions about the menu. For someone new to Vietnamese cuisine, the menu can be a bit overwhelming. Our food came out fast, but there was a mix-up with our order. When we mentioned an extra bowl of soup had arrived at our table, the waitress got frustrated and said she had enough to handle, then had someone else serve us. From then on, we had to beg for attention from passing servers, and it felt like customer service was the last thing on their minds. SUCH a great spot. Easy, accessible location, some street parking if you're lucky, and lightning fast service. Not the best viet food I've ever had but a solid option if you're really hankering for a quick bite. Chicken wings- came out after our main dishes (as the menu warned), and they were incredibly fresh - literally too hot to eat when they got to the table! So crispy and well fried. Bomb. Vermicelli- very flavorful and a generous serving. Lots of veggies like cabbage, carrots, and bean sprouts to make it aromatic and crisp. I think for some people it might not be enough meat but it was plenty for me. I even took some home and can definitely get a lunch out of that! Overall a great experience. All of the staff members were masked, they had hand sanitizer at the entrance in case you forgot yours, and we felt comfortably distanced from the other customers. This place has so much promise but it didnt really hit the spot for me. I'm 100% Vietnamese and grew up eating authentic viet food my whole life... but these flavors are lacking. Its definitely authentic here but the flavors were lackluster to my palette I got the Combination Pho with grilled pork ham spring rolls. Both were mediocre. I did not get a wow factor from the pho broth. The best pho broth Ive tried in the Boston area is from Pho Basil across Berkelee collegr of music. Although I'm not sure that pho is completely authentic, it definitely has more flavor and I prefer that after comparing the two. Id come back to try something else, but I wouldn't order the pho again because it was disappointing. The food here is delicious. On cold boston days a big bowl of pho from here would seriously warm you up for like 12 dollars, an extra large is 13.50, with an insane portion of meat. So if you want good pho this is definitely the place, especially if you don't want to go all the way to Dorchester for Vietnamese food. We also go the grilled shrimp and pork vermicelli bowl. The grilled pork.... the flavor of it still haunts me, words cannot describe how delicious it is and how perfectly it blends with the refreshing vermicelli bowl. The shrimps were big and smoky. Shell on though so beware, although I did not mind at all and felt like the ingredients were more fresh that way. Overall, great flavors, even better value. The service was really good, the food was served lightning fast, and place was really clean (somebody was literally mopping the floors next to us lol and the place smelled really good).
