A mom and pop restaurant that's been owned for a while Friendly staff Bountiful food portion sizes, and really tasty as well.

What remains of the adult bowl of pho.

This is always the best Vietnamese restaurant place that I like to go to. You can call ahead and they can make it for you and have it on the table so that once you get there, your food is ready if you prefer a quick meal. The people are very kind. Also, a great hole in the wall mom and Pop shop.

When Barbi is not with me, I don't order dinner for two. I order dinner Pho One. This is a very delicious Vietnamese place in Westchase along Westheimer, and one which we go to now and again because it's near the gym and yummy. Barbi enjoys lot of their products and she's a big fan of Vietnamese food in general, which is why we try it so often, and come here so often.

Com Chien Heo - pork fried rice

The pho was really good! I had the pho ga (chicken) and the com chien heo (pork fried rice). They don't give you a bowl for delivery but that wasn't a problem for me. The aromatics were perfect and the noodles and chicken were the perfect portion. You can't go wrong with the pho here. I wasn't fond of the fried rice but it grew on me by day two. It was a bit salty and I didn't care for the flavor of the pork. Probably wouldn't order it again, but will most likely be back for the affordably priced pho!

For price compared to nearby pho restaurants, i got way small amount of beef in a broth that wasn't beefy. They went overboard on amount of noodles, maybe to compensate for the less protein. The noodles conveniently split into smaller pieces by themselves; that's something new for me in pho.

Com Bo Luc Lac

Love this little, viet restaurant. It feels so homey and authentic like the restaurants in Vietnam. The owners are Vietnamese husband and wife duo who do almost everything in the restaurant. Their service was amazing! I don't get why people complain about the service here. As for the food, I got the shaken beef cubes (Com bo luc lac) on white, jasmine rice with the addition of 2 eggs. This dish also came with a side of veggies and soup. It was great! It reminded me of my mom's cooking. Definitely felt like a home cooked meal! The only reason I'm giving this 4 stars is because the beef could've been more tender and the quantity of beef was not enough to fill me up. Haha I'm so fat! Good thing I got the extra eggs. I highly recommend this dish though. My buddy got the vermicelli with chicken and egg rolls. He loved it! I'll return again whenever I'm in the area!

I have no idea how anyone could write a negative review about this place. I have been coming here for 10 years and will continue to come. I have tried almost everything on the menu and have yet to be disappointed. BEST SPRING ROLLS AND PEANUT SAUCE IN HOUSTON! Everything taste so fresh and homemade. My favorite drink is the fresh lime juice, yes it is truly FRESH. The pho is delicious, fried noodle plate, bahn mi, spring rolls, and customer service is excellent. I have brought so many friends here over the years and they also love it.

1/2 order of eggrolls

I stopped in here for pho to go since I was already going by Eatwell next door. I ordered a regular sized pho with rare beef, fatty brisket, and tendon. This is my go-to order when trying pho places. Also got a half order of eggrolls. Service was very friendly and prices decent. The pho broth was too thin, very light in color and flavor. In the to go bag they only give you hoisin sauce and no sriracha, and only half a lime wedge. The rare beef was fine, the fatty brisket was tough, tendon was good. The eggrolls were small and just ok. The fish sauce also seemed light and had none of the pickled veg or chili flakes that I'm accustomed to. I wouldn't order either of these items here again, but might give them another shot on banh mi or a rice plate.

Great small viet place, super nice staff and the chicken rice plate was amazing. The house special sauce that it comes with taste like a super light curry that doesn't skimp out on the flavor and is a great pairing with the chicken and rice! Would definitely come back and continue to support small business!

Pho and other food were just ok and they are so stingy with the veggies to eat with. I have given them a second chance but NO MORE.

Lots of seating, great wait staff, and the sandwiches are gigantic--as they should be for the price. $30 for a sandwich on average. We split an open face pastrami (which they brought an extra plate) and we are glad we did. The potato salad is tiny. Too much sandwich for one but not enough potato salad for two! The pickles they provide before your sandwich arrives are yummy- not like a traditional out of the bar pickle. These are what I remember from NYC. Garlic and not sweet. We also had the apple pie alamode. Also pricey and gigantic. It was warm and delicious. Glad we tried this icon. We went at lunch and they get quite the crowd. You are not rushed at all. You can even take some bakery items to go--if you are too full to eat there. Amazing selection of cookies, rugala, black and white cookies and more.

A big part of the decades long success at Local Foods has been their commitment to consistency…read more Their casual setting with excellent service is one thing, but quality executed food that is simple and seasonal will always go a long way. Before their recent expansions to Austin, it all began here in Rice Village exactly 15 years ago. The vibes are contemporary and casual, with the kind of space that fits for just about any scenario. Whether it's a solo meal, a lunch date, or a group led affair, the experience is almost always an excellent one. Start by ordering at the counter and find a seat where the food will brought directly to the table. So much of their variety caters to all sorts of dietary restrictions from vegan to gluten free to nut free. Their spicy crispy brussels sprouts ($10) are a nice starter, as is the squash "onion" rings ($12). The local power bowl ($16) is a classic and I've always enjoyed the brown rice and quinoa combo. Their chicken "posolé" is solid, and I love the large hominy bits along with the clear but green tint of a broth. The chicken shawarma bowl ($20) is an interesting mix that includes pickled beets and strawberries, along with their market cheddar burger ($17) and fabulous twice cooked fries. The carrot cupcake is strangely addicting, and I think their gluten free brownie is a bit of a sleeper. Some of their items didn't jive with me previously, such as an underwhelming cashew queso ($9), a semi-laughable Vietnamese steak bowl ($22), and their semi-gringo version of a banh mi ($15). It's not that these items are bad per se, but they definitely don't live up to the same standard that I feel their other dishes do best. Where they hit the biggest home run is their customer service. Everyone working behind the counter does their best to deliver and they almost always do by staying on top of refills, cleanups, and customer greets. I've always enjoyed my experiences here and look forward to every visit.

After meetings we met and had a long lunch sitting outside on one of the two lovely patios. It was comfortable on a beautiful day. One friend had the Thai steak salad and I had the veggie burger made with quinoa, beets and other vegetables. Wow...is what I will say!!! It was so flavorful and the focaccia bun (not gluten free) was incredible! Plus the double cooked fries were delicious! Oh, the side potato salad and kale salad were also delicious! I look forward to being back there next time I'm in Houston!!
