I don't know what was going on this last time we visited, but it sure does not leave much desire to go back (thankfully it will be a few months before the weather gets back to Pho eating temps).
We arrived around 6pm to a semi-full place and were seated and given menus right away. We were not brought water as we usually are and had to wait 15 minutes before our order was taken. Two other couples came in after us and were given water and had their orders taken at least 5 minutes before us.
We finally got water a few minutes later and were waiting for our appetizer. We see an appetizer come out but it was given to the table behind us. That's cool, maybe they got the same thing. Nope, within a minute the owner was flagged down to say he delivered the app to the wrong table and it was brought to us without extra plates. Within another minute little plates were brought. While we were eating our app, our waters were finished and we placed them on the edge of the table to inform, or at least give a visual clue, that we needed more water. No water was brought, but it was brought to at least 5 other tables, including the one behind us.
About 5 or so minutes after we finished our appetizer my meal of vermicelli and pork was brought out. Next, a single bowl of pho was brought and was given to the table behind us. That's weird, usually the bowls of pho are brought out at the same time. Maybe once again they got the same thing. Nope, the guy started eating then 5 minutes later realized it wasn't what he ordered. He flagged down the manager and told him this wasn't his food, who then took it to the back. At this point, no one had come by to see how our food was, as in it hadn't arrived and our waters still had not been re-filled (once again others had their waters refilled).
Trying to eat the noodles slow so I wouldn't be just sitting there, we had to wait, at this point, a total of 10 minutes before we could flag someone down to say we never got the pho that was ordered. The owner comes by again and apologizes for bringing the food to the wrong table and the pho would be out shortly. Come on man, you're the owner, you should know where your orders go. We thought by some chance he would see the empty water glasses and refill them....our hope was all lost to get more water.
Finally the pho came and we were on our merry way to finishing our meal. Again, at no point during the meal did any one come to check and see how it was and we repeatedly watched other people get water. We should have just gone and grabbed the pitcher ourselves. Luckily the food was the saving grace to this not wanting to be a 0 star review.
We then had to flag someone down to bring us our bill, thankfully came quickly and was picked up for charging. At some point between the card being given and the short 15 step walk to the register, the receipt was lost and they had to go digging through to be able to ring up our total. You would think it would still be in the computer system as at our table, but I guess not. And.....to just add icing to the water cake, the people behind us got more water, the waiter looked right at us and before either one of us could say for the last time PLEASE can we have some water, the water disappeared.
Finally they were able to complete the charge, obviously with nothing taken off for both food hassles and everyone who had come in after us had been long gone.
They need to up their game when there are more than 4 tables get filled otherwise they are just going to turn into the previous tenants which obviously didn't last long.
We will give this place one more try in the fall and hopefully the outcome will be more like all our other previous visits. read more
