Food is consistently delicious, large portions, good prices, excellent service, and it's very clean. Usually a noodle bowl--it's my favorite. But because everything is tasty I've tried dishes I've never had before and always been pleased. I would come here every day if I could.
Located across from the statehouse, pho-natic, will make you a pho-fan. The two workers worked quickly to seat and serve diners. I had a beef pho and a Vietnamese iced coffee. The iced coffee was bold and flavorful, and portioned perfectly. Since Vietnamese iced coffee is so strong, I understand why the portion was substantially smaller than other drinks but I was surprised that it was priced about the same or higher than others. The regular pho bowl was a good portion -- enough to satisfy someone with moderate hunger. The beef portions within the soup were also plentiful - they did not skimp! While the broth itself was good, it wasn't my favorite (a little heavy on the fish sauce, and yet very light in color). Overall, I'd come back and would tell others to give pho-natic a chance if you're in town. It's pho-tastic!
Very good pho here! Walking in, I was instantly hit with the wonderful aroma of pho broth. I got the Pho dac biet, so it included all the meats! I genuinely appreciate how they offer the small size for the pho dac biet, which isn't available in a lot of pho restaurants. Pho was soooo tasty! All the meats were tender. For a small bowl, even a regular size bowl, there was a good amount of meats and noodles. My favorite part about this place is the chili sauce! It's pretty much the sauce that is in bun bo hue. Fantastic taste and perfect amount of spice. The server was nice and quick. A lot of seating.
What a comforting and inviting shop right across the street from the Capitol Building. Perfect place to go on a cold day. The bowl of pho warms you right up. They are very generous on the portion size. Lots of noodles, soup, and beef. They definitely did not skimp. That bowl is worth every dollar you pay for it. The broth is deep and flavorful and warms you to your soul. Service is friendly and fast as well. Keep up the good work :)
I came here as part of a big group with a reservation. They seated us immediately and served us very efficiently. The food was good, tofu was cooked nicely. I'd definitely come back and try the pho, I was afraid to try to eat it around coworkers :).
I love this pho restaurant. Their soup is less sweet than the average, quenching my need for a savory broth. The service is good considering there are only a few people working here each shift. I always crave their food. This time, we got the bun tho hue, the spicy beef noodle soup. The noodles are thicker than the pho. The soup is good and flavorful but you don't get the different types of meat this dish usually comes with... but its a great spicy version of a nice noodle dish. I'd eat it again. Sustainability tip: They serve their boba in a glass if you're dining in! It feels much classier and stays cold longer if you have the time. If you want to be extra, being your own straw!
This is our second time to this restaurant and again did not disappoint. The vegetarian pho with tofu is spectacular and full of flavor. The vegetarian tofu spring rolls are fresh, delicious, and the sauce is spectacular. The service is also very attentive and friendly. A must try when in the downtown Denver area. It has a beautiful view of the capital building. We will return again.
Grabbed lunch at Pho-natic the other day, and honestly it was an excellent experience. Clean, cozy and cool space (the latter was important given it was a hot walk to get there and I still wanted to slurp some hot pho). Service was absolutely impeccable too. We had the spring rolls to start with, which were generously filled. The pho comes in three sizes, and I got the small which was perfect for my lunchtime appetite, and it still had plenty of meat and accoutrement. The Vietnamese iced coffee was also perfection, and I got to watch it steep tableside. Truly a great spot. I only wish it was a shorter walk from the office!
It's good but not the best pho or thai iced tea I've had (I've had many, so my standard is higher). The broth is tasty but isn't clear. Noodle texture was correct. Good amount of beef in the noodle soup. I wish cilantro was served on the side and not in the soup. Thai iced tea flavor is a little off, maybe more artificial? Staff is friendly, attentive, and courteous. Decor is a little outdated.. Floor has a few cracks. Probably wouldn't visit again.
I have had my share of pho broth...and this place is up there. Run by a mom and her son ( I think). Fantastic crispy pork rolls. Medium bowls of pho will fill you up with great flavor. Seriously it cleared up my laryngitis. Get the lemon grass into your broth. I am coming back for sure.
So good!! Very flavorful and when we came it was packed but we got in pretty quick with wonderful service I definitely will be back
I think I just found my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in Denver. This small cozy place immediately gives you good vibes upon arrival. Service was very quick and attentive and all of the food was made fresh. I ordered the grilled pork spring rolls and the combination noodle bowl, both of which I devoured. The meat was well seasoned and juicy and had a nice char from the grill. I think my favorite was the juicy pork on top of the fresh noodles. I do wish that I had a little more vegetables to balance out the meat portion but that's the only "complaint" I have if you want to call that a complaint. Parking is a bit tragic as this place is directly across from the Capitol so if you're trying to go I recommend parking a block or two away and parking.
Amazing pho and Vietnamese iced coffee. Super close to the courthouse. Always efficient service too

Not to be cheesy... but if you're not a "Pho-natic fan" after trying this place.. I'd question your taste bud. Anyways.. here is my honest review. Location: They're definitely located in a very prime area right in front of the capitol. Surprisingly, every time I visit, I never had trouble finding parking since there are like hundreds of parking meter (free after 6pm mon-fri) Ambiance: I dig it. Simple, elegant, cozy, clean, chilled.. they got some soft old school chill jazz music going. Also, I'm impressed how spacious the place is. Unlike 99% of Pho restaurants out there.. they didn't space the tables 2 feet across where one would have to wait for the other customers to scoot up in order to pass Food: So, I can only speak about the entrees and drinks that I've tried. Yesterday morning, I had the pho dac biet and... I'd have to say..that was pretty much as close to a perfectly balance pho bowl as one can get. The broth was very flavorful, not too greasy, salty, MSG-y (idk if that's a word but I just know asian places love to over do it with the MSG. I ordered a medium bowl and it seemed like a large with tons of meat of all sorts (tripes, tendons, tons of briskets..etc) It was so good I came back for dinner as well, except I had the com dac biet. I wish I took pictures for you, but trust me when i say it is also exceeded all my expectations (that's saying a lot considering I'm Vietnamese and reside in Dallas/Garland where there are as many Pho restaurants as gas stations. The dish came with slow, marinated grilled pork and shrimp with fresh sliced cucumber and lettuce. Finally, I came back today and tried the Bun Bo Hue (Fortunately, I remembered to take a picture). Again, to my surprised, the broth was extremely flavorful and did not taste like it was spiked with a cup of artificial spices like most other pho restaurants. Now, I do want to inform that they don't serve the coagulated blood or other traditional "bun bo hue meats", but since the broth was so good, I didn't mind. Price: Price is very fair considering the location they're in. I've been to many places that charged even more being located in the middle of nowhere Staff: 5 star service all the way. One of many waiters came by my table to ask if I needed anything about 4-5 times throughout the meal.. and THAT is something you'll rarely get from a pho restaurant. If you don't know by now, Vietnamese Pho restaurants are known to have the worst service. typically, you'll be lucky if you get a refill of water. Overall, 5 stars from me. read more

Our first meal for the day after an early mornings flight to Denver, Co. We were famished and from yelp reviews, we decided to go tho Pho-natic. It was a decision worth making! The food was amazing! Deliciousness at its best. Our host, Lucas was very sweet, nice and made us feel very at ease. The amount of time that it took for our food to arrive is fast. We ate during lunch and I am already planning my dinner her or perhaps lunch again tomorrow. I recommend this place to everyone who visits! Satisfaction guaranteed! read more
I come from the land of abundant pho restaurants (California), so I will say I'm a little harsher with my pho critique than with some other foods. Pho-natic is not the best pho ever; there is certainly pho restaurants that are much better in southwest Denver. That's not to say that this place is bad--it has some solid food, but certainly pretty basic pho. This little joint is right smack in the middle of Denver near downtown, so it definitely has the proximity thing going for it. I came here with a friend a couple weeks ago to get something warm for dinner because it was freezing outside. We ordered a cha gio appetizer, and a bowl of pho for each of us. I got the traditional beef, while my friend got the chicken pho. The egg roll appetizer was pretty tasty--2 cha gio per order, cut into halves and served with pickled veggies and nuoc cham. The pho came out shortly after we finished the egg rolls, and upon first glance, something seemed off. Now, looking back at the pics, I know what was wrong! I'm used to a pho bowl coming out garnished with a handful of chopped cilantro and green onions. This bowl looked a little empty with the clear broth. Not necessarily a bad thing, just not as visually vibrant as your usual bowl of pho, so I was a little surprised. Taste-wise, the broth was pretty good! Noodles were a little underdone, but not to a point of being inedible. The meat toppings were abundant and cooked well, and the usual plate of herbs was fresh and plentiful. My friend said she enjoyed her chicken pho, so it seems overall, Pho-natic has pretty decent food. Staff was very friendly and polite, checking up on us every so often. As someone that's used to not being talked to unless I flagged down a waiter, I found this experience surprising but not in a negative way (more that I was amused) :) If I'm in a pinch and need some pho, Pho-natic is a good, convenient choice. If I'm not, southwest Denver has a lot more options that remind me more of the pho from back home. read more

Ok to be completely honest I didn't have much hope for pho in Denver. I was expecting the absolute worst bowl of pho I have ever had, but was pleasantly surprised. We were walking and had noticed this place across the street. Decided to come in since it was snowing and a warm bowl of pho sounded like a great idea. A large is $10 and you get a pretty good amount of noodles and meat. The broth was pretty flavorful but I felt that something was missing. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. read more
Pho-na-tic is pho-ne-tic, so pho newbs and the hooked on phonics crowd will get the name right regardless if you're not straight outta Saigon... 100 miles and running. Aside from the name, the other things that stand out (good/bad) is the well above average quality of the fatty brisket (?), modern digs, the prof. looking uniforms, the sub par tai (rare beef? More like "well done"), the subtle yet complex broth, the dead silence needs some soothing melodies of Neil Diamond, and the expensively priced $7-$8 pho, even when compared to Orange County, CA - Little Saigon. This premiumly priced ph, phhh, phh, phhh, pho makes me pho-kin st-utter. read more

It's cold, it's Friday and motivation has gone out the window so you want to take a long lunch, what do you do? Go out for pho DUHHH!!! FRIENDLY service in a super clean restaurant. The small bowl is huge. I could barely finish half and that is saying something. I love that they don't skimp on the meat either. I have been here a lot and it has always hit the spot. I do want to mention the restaurant gets slammed on cold days with a long wait. Go early at 11 or late. Also, they have boba!!!!! PHO real!!! read more
I saw all of the reviews on Yelp and a friend was sick and wanting some soup, so we decided to give them a try. I was soooo pleased. I had the shrimp fried rice. I'm not even really sure that is on the menu, but I saw another Yelp reviewer had posted a picture and it looked delicious, so I ordered it. Just because I also wanted to have an idea of what their pho tasted like, I ordered a small side of broth. It was very tasty and the condiments that each person could add at their leisure were fresh and delicious. My friend who I ate with had a regular bowl of chicken pho (which was a REALLY big bowl) and between the two of us, our meal was only about $20. #Winning read more

My friend and I were on a limited time constraint downtown and I was in the mood for pho. Not having time to head to South Federal and not wanting the bland fast food style pho at An's Lemongrass Grill, my friend suggested the new Phonatic. I was skeptical. I don't like dumbed down pho often found at "fusion" places like Karma and Pho Fusion. I like a good bowl of pho and for me, tripe is a must have. Generally, this is only found at Pho shops, not Asian hybrid restaurants. So, with some unease I went to Phonatic with my friend and feisty baby in tow. I was very pleasantly surprised to find that though it looks trendy, modern and fusiony- it is a real deal pho shop. They had tripe and many other versions of pho, some of which I am excited to try in the future. I got the pho with rare steak, brisket, and tripe. My friend got the pho ga. My baby had the rice and chicken on the kid's menu. We started with the grilled meat spring rolls. The spring rolls were excellent, full of flavor from the marinated, grilled meat and the fresh mint really made them refreshing. My pho was excellent. I did have to order extra lime and plain fish sauce. Fish sauce is a standard condiment at most pho shops and I was sad that it wasn't on the tables but they happily brought it to me without the questioning looks I get from the faux pho places. The brisket was excellent and not too fatty, the steak standard, and the tripe delish. My friend loved his pho ga. The kid's dish was great. It consisted of a nice dome of white rice and small slices of sweet, flavorful marinated chicken. My daughter loved it. The server was very busy, I think there was only one on. Regardless, it was obvious that he was experienced and the service was excellent. I have been described as high maintenance when dining (I won't eat until I get my copious amounts of extra lime and pungent fish sauce). In addition, having a 17 month old always complicates the dining out experience. Nonetheless, the server handled me and my baby without irritation and even offered to bring me more hot broth since he feared my pho had gone cold from dealing with the baby (who was a bit cranky). Excellent excellent service. The only weird part was the odd silence. I'm not sure if they just didn't have the music on or if there is no sound system or if this is some intentional quiet. They seated all the customers together in the front part of the restaurant (though the large seating areas in back were empty) and it was bizarrely quiet. The last thing I want when eating a noodly soupy dish is for my unintentional slurping sounds to be obvious in a small quiet dining room filled with others. It was an eavesdroppers paradise but I felt like OUR conversation was on display. Also, having a vocal baby made me very self conscious that she was disturbing other diners. At one point I even apologized to the other diners. Hopefully, they'll get some music or fountains or something to create a little ambience and the illusion of privacy. The interior is bright, clean, and inviting. The bathrooms were spotless and smelled good. I will be back. I am so glad there is a centrally located real pho shop at last! read more

Vietnamese roots with a fresh and clean interior. Very modern and very attentive staff. I've become a sucker for Denver's extensive selection of Vietnamese Pho restaurants. I consider myself very versed and comfortable in the category of my new found foreign cuisine. I can't get enough! As for my first visit to Pho-natic, I found my bowl of Pho barely above average. There was a less than normal amount of meat in my medium bowl of Pho. The price is just a bit more than competitors, but Pho is always a very affordable meal. I counted around five slices of brisket in my entire bowl. The meat I did eat had a lot of fat on it, but still tasted good. The broth was very lightly flavored, very clear in comparison to other restaurants I've been to. Even with these differences, I did enjoy my lunch. The garnishes were fresh, which included lime wedges, bean sprouts, cilantro and jalapeno slices, the typical ingredients. I did receive a great comment from my server, "Wow, your broth looks good!" After I added Sriracha and some hoisin sauce to the mix. My server continued, "Usually everyone's Pho looks so clear. That looks yummy with such a great color!" What did stand out was the service. My glass of diet Coke was always full with a second on stand bye. My water glass was always full. My server stopped and chatted with me a couple times asking how my order was. The manager that day came by and asked how my meal was as well. I will be back. I am already looking forward to my next stop. read more

Pho-natic has been around for about three years. It doesn't look like anything special on the outside, but the interior is very pretty, with blue and green hues. It's bright and clean, with nice decor and relatively new tables and chairs. Pho-natic uses these laminated menus that present a casual, impermanent feel. The drink menu is a little laminated sheet that tags along. The selection is very basic, with appetizers, rice plates, vermicelli, and of course, pho. Pho comes in three sizes: small ($7), medium ($8) and large ($9). I had a small Pho Tai Nam. My pho came out quickly, with a lovely plate of garnishes. I was so excited to see saw leaf! I mean, I can't say that the pho tastes different without it (which is probably why many places don't serve it), but it was nice to have it. My standards might be strict, but to me, that's one part of a perfect bowl of pho. Now, the broth was very interesting. I could definitely taste star anise, and something that gave the broth warmth, perhaps cinnamon? It was a taste I wanted to wholeheartedly embrace, but couldn't because it was shockingly oily. It was one of the oiliest broths I've ever had, which I can't make myself appreciate. You could say that the meat made up for it, though. There was a beautiful mound of red meat, which cooked tender and flavorful. The flank was delicious as well, wonderfully moist. All in all, it was a great bowl of pho, with the only flaw being excessive oil. Service is great here, very attentive. I went here with a Meet Up group for lunch. It's much bigger inside than I thought and can handle large groups easily. We would up being 8 people and because most of the group was running late the server took orders as people arrived and had separate checks ready. I got a small Pho, which is a great lunch portion, with brisket. It was very good and comparable to my standard place on Federal I frequent. For being in Cap Hill I think it's good and not too much more than places on Federal. read more

Pretending to be pretentious... When I walked in I expected it to be pretentious and overpriced, compared to most authentic Pho restaurants I've frequented. The interior is nice and contemporary, a pleasant departure from many of the other restaurants on Colfax. But the modernism stops there. The price is low, and the Pho is very good. I had to wait longer than usual to get it after ordering (maybe 10-15 mins) - but it was worth it. I've had better, but I will certainly be coming back, as this is the best Pho experience I've had anywhere close to downtown. read more

This place is great. The decor are simple and modern, not traditional Vietnamese yet eye-pleasing. You would have to park at the meter or at a paid lot. We came in at night and all four of us ordered pho. The broth was clear, a sign of meticulous care in the cooking process, which usually takes up to half a day or longer. The flavor was beefy, yet not over empowered by cardamon and other herbs. They gave us plenty of fresh veggies for our pho. The service was great but seemed like they were short staff. The lady that bring the pho was very nice and rather talkative. Great experience. Would definitely comeback. read more
Alright so I am in Denver for work and it was a cold day so I was craving some type of soup which is where Pho-natic stepped right in. I did a quick search and found that this joint was not too far away from me and had solid reviews and decided to check it out. Parking is not too bad around this area but it does get busy during lunch time so keep that in mind. There are metered spots all over the side streets so hopefully should not be too bad. This place is right across from the Capitol building and it blends in with the buildings as it is a very dulled down sign. Once you step through the doors, the colors are very vibrant and the restaurant is actually pretty sizeable. They have a variety of Pho in three sizes which are Small, Medium, and Large. As a warning, these sizes are definitely understated as they give you a good amount of food. I would say if you are hungry you could still be satisfied with the medium as the large is gigantic. As this was my first time here I decided to order the Spring Rolls which are great and the peanut sauce that comes out is warm which I found interesting but still tasty. I had the #23 which was pretty legit and the service here is very fast so you will be in and out quickly. Now I am going to say that I have been to this joint twice and had the same pho twice. With that said there was an inconsistency on the broth. The portions are awesome and the meats are all great but what really got me confused was the oily inconsistency of the broth. The first time it was perfect with the right flavors but the second time it came out and was very oily so a bit perplexed by this. I will give them the benefit of the doubt and say that it was a bad experience but because of the inconsistency I would knock it down one star. All in all, a solid joint that I would definitely go back to when I am in Denver and just hope that consistency was just a fluke. read more

Great service with good portions, very clean and affordable! The pho broth was ok. It was a little bland for my taste but I did eat at the restaurant right after they opened. Giving the restaurant the benefit of the doubt, maybe it was a new batch of broth that needed more time on the stove to bring out the goodness. Either case it's worth a visit! read more

Pho-natic is the best pho place downtown! Always a line during lunch on weekdays, and unfortunately they are not open on Sundays. Most patrons come over from the Capitol, it's very close and walking distance. To skip the line, you can call in and order to-go. This is a family-owned restaurant and they are super kind with great service. I love the meatballs pho. Definitely visit them for the pho and egg rolls. Mmm... read more

Who says you need to be all the way in California to get a legit, tasty bite of pho noodles? This one's right by the capitol! And the decor ain't bad either. The front is pretty sweet with tons of natural light and a view of the capitol building, but the back is a dreary, withdrawn place. It'd recommend staying away unless you have some top secret business to attend to. The food - goood! Very good, as a matter of fact. It's just slightly on the pricier side, but since a small bowl is enough to fill you up, there's no need to go crazy. Try the Vietnamese iced coffee, too - they know how to do it right! read more

I ordered from Pho-natic and had it delivered to me via Post Mates. Overall, this is a great place from a price-to-value ratio perspective. You get a lot of food for the cost, and it's pretty good. I ordered the chicken entree, while my fiancee ordered the Veggie Pho. My dish was alright, but I don't think I would order it again. My fiancee was happy with both the size and taste of her dish. She had enough food leftover to supply her with lunch for the next day! read more
