Out of all the vendors at Time Out Market, Pho Mo was definitely the busiest and only one with people waiting in line. This spot caught my attention because 1) Vietnamese food and 2) it's part of Phuc Yea which is on my list of spots to try, I mean the name is cool in itself. I didn't want anything too heavy so I opted for the Bao buns, for the Cajun shrimp and salt & pepper tofu. $6 each. Or $11 for two. The cashier was nice and hustled. Got a cool pager when I ordered my food. I will say it felt like my food took forever to come out but probably because they were busy. I think my food took 10-15 minutes for wait time. And I was starving. But all good. My bao buns were soft and fluffy like clouds. And still warm. The shrimp was a big one but I only got one. It was fried too. The flavor and crunch was great with the bao buns. The tofu I wasn't very impressed with, couldn't really taste the salt & pepper. I found the tofu bland. All in all, it was decent. Had been meaning to check out Time Out Market and was craving a salad or vermicelli so when the salad spot was closed in the market, decided to stop by Pho Mo instead. Was relatively early so line, score! Ordered the Cajun Grilled Shrimp Noodle. There was a bit of wait for my food and I was fully prepared to be let down given all the bad Yelp reviews. Thankfully, seems like non-pho options are better because my noodles weren't bad! Not the most authentic I've had, but the shrimp was good and it satisfied my craving. Would I tell people they have to try Pho Mo? Absolutely not. But would I come back here if I were craving Vietnamese food and in the area? I really really hate to leave a review. I'm not sure if this is the only location but I ordered via Uber eats. I normally look on Yelp before I order but I was looking for vegan phô and this was one place that popped up. I ordered vegan phô and assumed it was good due to 4.0 rating on Uber eats. I ordered vegan phô for myself as I wasn't feeling too good and the broth makes me feel better. I ordered phô ga for my friend. Normally you would get besides utensils, condiments and there was nothing. First everything was put into a bowl so you can't see anything or the quality of what's in there. Second cilantro and mint leaves along with jalapeño old. Cilantro long stems. No lime. My friend first time having pho and this was a bad experience. I felt so horrible for her. I told her this isn't normal and the noodles are rice noodles. These are not. I tried mine at first and the broth was luke warm and that's the most important part. It had a distinct taste of possibly the broth boiling too long or the star anise. Not sure but it was not good. I added my own to make better but it was nothing you can do. Sort of a medicine bitter taste which I'm assuming star anise. My friend.... the chicken was too dark looking very different, she said it was so disgusting and described the taste, bitter which she tried adding some items around to make it taste good. She threw it away. I couldn't bring myself to eat anymore. I have never said this about a meal but after looking at the reviews as I normally do. I really don't like writing bad reviews but this is the absolute worst pho I've ever had. The dish looked so good but the favors are lacking. I ordered the regular chicken pho which is chicken with the chicken broth and noodles. It tasted like dirty water with old chicken. The cilantro was just garnishing on the side. It's not actually cooked inside. The chicken chunks tasted likes it been reheated several times. Very rubbery and tasteless. Disappointed. As in all other locations at Time Out, you order at the counter. You get a buzzer that lights up when your dish is ready, and you carry it to the communal tables. I ordered the beef pho. The portion and temperature were adequate. The meats were tasty, but it was downhill from then on. The broth was mostly tasteless - deadly sin for any pho conoisseur. The vegetables were also tasteless and lacked texture. The herbs were not served on the side and were wilted and sad. An overall disaster, were it not for the meat toppings. My companion ordered the veggie pho. No positives on that one. You get the tasteless broth, the texture less vegetables, and surprisingly bland mushrooms that tasted of nothing. I say Pho No! My wife and I had different dishes from here. Sadly, both were disappointing. I asked for the beef pho with peppers for spicyness. It was not hot at all. I also dumped three of their sauces in there for spice. Nothing. It's like it rejected flavor. The broth was just OK, as were the noodles. It lacked the rich vegetable savor of Pho that we enjoy such as at Pho 79 or Nine-Five-Pho. My wife's chicken was bland. The meat in mine was nothing to write home about. So I have heard a million and one amazing things about Chef Zee and Phuc Yea, but never have I ever tried his creations. Enter Pho Mo, where a bowl of Pho changed my life. Dramatic? Yes. A lie? NOPE. We're still friends, but I won the fight of who got to drink straight from the bowl. I knew I had to return. Despite 95 degree weather upon my visit to Time Out last weekend - I ran straight to Pho Mo to get a full sized bowl of beef pho. DAMN this soup is good. There is the perfect amount of noodles, so much wonderfully flavored broth, herbs, and of course - meat! Did I drink every last drop? Phuc yes! The stall also offers bao buns and pho of the day. They give you a big bowl, lot of noodles, meat & small portion of bean sprout & basil. I did ask for more. But they don't use PHO noodle! What? They use vermicelli rice thin noodle, which Vietnamese calls BÚN. They offer shiitake nood for healthier version for extra $3 or extra meat for $5. Light broth, which is healthier taste, but no flavor at all. On the other hand, the cooked beef was nice and tender. The only Pho that I have to put Hoisin sauce in. I really don't like giving small business a low rating, but this was pretty bad. I ordered pho on Uber eats. I followed the progress on the app and though it said 25-35 minute delivery, that was definitely not the case. When my driver showed up to pick up my order, the proprietor told him that someone already picked it up. This was untrue at worst, or a mistake at best, but either way the driver couldn't pick up my food. I asked the driver if I could pay by CC and he graciously paid cash on my behalf and brought it to me. This driver was a five star driver!! Pho arrived 90 minutes after my initial order and the broth is saltier than the Dead Sea, like the proprietor vigorously shook an entire salt shaker into the broth. I can't say that actually happened since I wasn't there, but that's how it tastes. No complaints about the rest of the Pho order except they charge an extra dollar for lime, a pho staple, but whatever. Good on Uber eats for cancelling the charge and great on the driver for laying out the cash - I gave him a 100% tip for that above and beyond service - but shame on Pho Mo for being so incompetent. One last quibble. I specifically asked for extra cutlery in the hope that I would get at least one spoon. There was no cutlery and certainly no spoon. I'm sure Asian purists will say that pho only requires chopsticks, but this isn't Asia and that's why I asked for the cutlery. Didn't matter, received nothing. read more

The pho was decent for being the only pho place on south beach. I highly recommend the garnishes be served separately so it doesn't get soggy. The brisket pieces were super thick. We also tried the caramel wings. The wings were a little too saucy. A little less sauce would of made the wings more crispy. Overall it wasn't too bad. My husband and I came for brunch on a weekend. We got the pho bo ($15 each), one bao of five spiced roasted pork bao ($6), and caramel chicken wings ($8). The pho bo broth was bland and was warm when served. The noodles were under cooked . Compared to the pho we have in San Fracisco bay area, this was pretty mediocre and over priced. This is the worst pho I've had in my entire life. The broth was lukewarm, and it tasted like "instant" pho that's been diluted with water. I felt like there was no thought or consideration put into making our pho - a large clump of cilantro was just plopped on top of the soup. Inside Time Out market, I tried the Lemongrass Chicken Pho and it was packed with flavors. Not super spicy. Chicken was very tasty, a little fatty though. Pho is my go to for comfort food. We've been in South Beach for a couple of days, and so pho sounded amazing. We were excited to learn that there was pho close to our hotel, located in a food hall. When we arrived, no "hello" or "can I take your order?" Instead, the manager was leaning on the counter with her hand on the side of her head, looking bored to death. I ordered the beef pho but they were out of beef, so pork pho it was. No bean sprouts, very little greens, no basil, and the broth was bland as water. Menu "1 bao for 6, 2 for 11, 3 for 15". Choices: pork, shrimp, and tofu. Getting one bao, it's the same price for each $6. So I order two. Tipped. When I look at the tab I got charged for $12. When I ask why not $11, the answer was because I didn't order 2 of the same. Does that make sense to you? I know it's only one dollar but the principle of being scammed for only $1 still irks me.
