I am the office Lunch Decision-maker. I provide the Door Dash options. I decided that I was on the mood for a Vietnamese sandwich, and everyone in the office was going to experience a Bahn Mi with me! I recently discovered Tran An on Tik-Tok, and they looked legitimately not Cuban infused. I received a little push back since no one had ever tried Vietnamese food before. I assured them that, being from California, I've had my share of these sandwiches, and if done correctly- they were delicious! Additionally we ordered the fried pork/crab rolls...they were mid. Stopped in for a dinner with friends. The atmosphere of the restaurant was super cute but the restaurant itself is really small and doesn't have many tables. On to the food: the chicken bites were pretty flavorless and definitely needed salt, the pho dip was really good but also could've benefited from a bit of salt, and the fried rice was the same pretty good but could use salt. Hey, super juicy marinated for 24 hours chicken tendies, refreshing papaya salad, a delicious eggy fried rice and half a barbecue pork bánh mi, for $5 each, it's unheard of but they do that here every weekday between 3-6PM for happy hour. My friend and ordered two of the tendies, two rice, one salad and the banh mi as well as two high noon vodka iced teas and spent only $40 plus tip. 9-15-2026 Disappointing. We ordered one Super Deluxe Banh Mi, Hanoi Pork Noodles and the Supreme Vermicelli. All to go. $65. All three dishes had similar thin sliced meat that was "browned" around the edges. It tasted burnt and bitter and gave a bad flavor to all three dishes. The Banh sandwich was bitter and burnt tasting. The noodle dishes were a little better. The same burnt tasting meat with nicely prepared noodles and crunchy crisp vegetables. But that's it - burnt meat and raw veggies. No sauce, no flavor (except the burnt meat). The Imperial roll that came with the Supreme had a thick, tough skin and mushy insides. read more

Tran An was such a cute spot for a quick lunch. My boyfriend and I went and played Monopoly Deal while waiting for our food which made it even more fun. We tried two different beers and both were pretty good. The spicy chicken tendies and the beef pho were our favorites, both full of flavor & so comforting. Guys... this is not Vietnamese food. Firstly the taste was all off, almost zero flavor , just slightly sour and watery. I stumbled on this place completely by accident and it has become one of my top two Vietnamese Restaurants in Dade County. Tran An is small but mighty. I stop in from time to time when I'm working in the area. The menu is very nice and seems to change every now and then. This helps if you always want to try something different but not so much if you have diehard favorites like me. Tran An has meal components for you to take home and prepare a meal yourself. Make sure you check out the restroom, it's something to see. It looks like something you'll find in a deleted scene from Beyond The Valley Of The Dolls. Checkout their little shop next door. The restaurant can only hold 2-3 people inside but it's really tight. 2 people is convenient. If you have a party of 3 or more people, you will be told to utilize the outdoor seating. The outdoor seating, The tables, chair, and many things like the menu, the sauce containers, and etc, indoor and the outdoors are really sticky, unclean and unsanitary, in my opinion. The water cups are really old and undesirable to use. My suggestion is to use the disposable chopsticks and anything disposable. The food is really Bland and small portion. It's bland that I had to shower it with sriracha. You would probably be really angry when it's serve to you specifically if you're really hungry. Comparing the portions of the bowl of pho is just about a yay size bigger than a Maruchan Ramen you would get in a one serving bag, not the cup. Average price of pho is $25.00 per bowl. 8 People came to about $215. Tip is included or mandatory. Customer service is noticeably unwelcoming. The server spoke to us only at the order taking, food delivery, and asking for their CHECK. The level of customer service is similar or about the same as many other customers came while we were eating. I would not express whether to recommend it or not, but please do check for yourself, as I'm sure they also need to make money to pay for their expenses. If you like the restaurant, please give them support as I'm certain that staffs work very hard to keep their business running. Went here while the weather was nice and chilly. We sat outside. The waitress was kind and attentive. We never had to ask for anything which is nice. I ordered the Chicken curry and my friend got one of the phos. We also ordered a bahn as an appetizer to split and my goodness did that hit the spot. Small "hole in the wall" type place. Which I prefer anyway but the pictures online made me think it was fancy. The food was good but a bit pricey for the sizes. The employees were kind to us but stressed out and not getting along with each other. A. It disappointed that they only had 2 beers (great tripping animas local beer). If you're looking for a stomachache this is the place to eat! You might need some pepto after. I rarely ever give 1 stars.. but major yikes.. super expensive for food that is not edible... the supreme pho aka pho dac biet, the broth was sooooo sour and not authentic. We left the restaurant so hungry! The bowl was so tiny I can't believe it was $25.. I would pay that much if it was good but this was barely it. I read a lot of YELP reviews saying how the broth was bland.. but ours was very sour.. not even siracha could help this poor pho broth. There was no condiments provided such as the bean sprouts.. etc. if you're looking for authentic.. this ain't it.. don't waste your time or money. So sorry to say this. I love to give good reviews but I must say I was disappointed due to my expectations. It's a cute little place that's nicely decorated and I was impressed with the little photo menu book that tells the story of the owners and has pictures of all the food menu items. The server was very friendly and attentive. However, the food was terrible. My friend and I were craving pho so we decided to order each a bowl which I have never paid $25.00 for a small bowl of pho that tasted like sour soup. Not sure if that was the flavor of the beef broth or if it was going bad. There was not much flavor and the broth did not look freshly made given we were there around 10 or 11:00am for lunch. I'm from California so pho is a must and I make my own pho broth as well so I know a good bowl of pho broth when I see one. I hope this review helps the owners to check on their food and make sure it's up to par bc it appears they have neglected the traditional Vietnamese flavors that is portrayed in their story and pictures. First and foremost, clean your fish sauce dispensers. I went to use one and nearly threw up--it reeked of dirty feet and unwashed body parts. It's clear these haven't been cleaned in months. There was dried, crusty fish sauce caked on the top, and using an oil dispenser for fish sauce? That's just gross and unacceptable. I eat Vietnamese food regularly--at least four to five times a month--and I wouldn't even categorize what you serve as Vietnamese cuisine. The pho broth was flavorless, like plain hot water. The summer rolls were nothing like what they should be, and the vermicelli noodles were far from the authentic kind used in proper Vietnamese cooking. Came in and the atmosphere was very nice, warm, and welcoming. I really liked the aesthetic. Unfortunately, the service was not the same. Our server looked at me like I had a third eye and seemed confused by every single request I made. I asked for the weekly special ($18 to build your own bowl with a side). I ordered the spicy noodles and simply wanted a small side of rice so I could add some to my soup. I also asked for no cucumber or carrots. Somehow, this seemed extremely confusing to our server. My girlfriend then ordered the exact same thing--just without the side of rice--and the server still looked lost. When our food finally came, my girlfriend received her order, but I was given chopped rice with beef--literally just rice and meat. I asked what happened since I ordered spicy noodles, and the server said she thought I wanted rice instead of the weekly special. Eventually they corrected it, but the noodles we received weren't even spicy, so I'm not sure if they gave us the regular noodles instead. The food overall was decent, but definitely not the best pho for the price. Paid $50 for a mediocre meal and to feel stared at by the server, when honestly I could've gone to the Dunkin' Donuts next door and been treated like I was at a 5-star restaurant. This review is for people that know authentic Vietnamese cuisine with knowledge of standard expectations. I'm sure a lot of people in Miami love this place because they didn't grow up eating Vietnamese food but I'm native from LA and OC so I can review based on my qualified opinion and I also make the bombest pho at home. I was told it won a neighborhood award so I was excited due to having pho deprivation this past week. Again, please note that this review is for people who know pho and have expectations for real Vietnamese food so I'm not knocking anyone who likes it. Ambiance - A TOTAL MISS. It was a retro theme not conducive with anything Vietnam. Chairs and shop seemed visually dirty and also musty smelling. The vibe was more like an old disco diner vibe. Fruit flies kept bugging me while I was eating. AC wasn't cold enough inside so I'm sure the bacteria was growing everywhere which contributes to that musty smell I noticed when I walked in. (Updated info- they had 13 health code violations in January 2024!! Disgusting!) Pho broth quality - No aroma of the seasonings like star anise or charred onion. No hot steam radiating from the bowl. Meat - brisket was sliced so thick instead of thin making me feel as if they didn't view food as the perfect art expression, but meatballs were firm and bouncy. Temperature of broth- This was the BIGGEST FAIL! Served BARELY warm! I felt really duped given the owner is Vietnamese and has a mini family album propped on the table which shows his Vietnamese heritage with authentic family pictures, only to discover that it was simply a marketing ploy that focused solely on getting reviews or attention rather than delivering authentic and EASY pho standards. That alone killed any experience. Bowl shape - the wrong shape used which was a really low and flat bowl that looked like pasta should be served in it, not soup that's supposed to be piping hot. Hot soup would spill right over so they chose to use American style bowls instead of a real Vietnamese style bowl. Again, he chose marketing or cost over quality. Condiments/garnishings - ZERO offered on the table. Where's the fresh bean sprouts, basil, jalapeños, chili oil, and pickled chilis?! That's the equivalent of going to a fast food and they don't provide ketchup or sauce. Extra request for bean sprouts were soggy and room temperature which means it wasn't prepared fresh. Eggrolls - came out room temperature because it didn't seem like they deep fried them fresh otherwise, it would be sizzling and really hot in the middle. The fish sauce dip had barely any flavor and watered down. No sweet, sour, or pungent kick, nor did they offer sambal chili to mix with it. The pickled carrots on the side had zero flavor and barely even sour. The only good thing about this was the lettuce which was fresh, but that was bought and not made. Sad. Utensils - they put the mouth part of the chopsticks inside a dirty cup instead of positioning it where dirt won't touch the chopsticks. I had to wipe it before using given I was already so leery of the cleanliness. Felt really dirty to eat here. The soup spoons and chopsticks were so worn out they didn't have anymore gloss to them, had dents, and some were mismatched colors. Small condiment dish for sauce - it's usually a flat small dish that we can add hoisin and Sriracha to but what they gave us was a sauce cup, which is the same that they use for ketchup and french fries. Price - tourist prices! Double the price with barely 1/5 the quality. My mom was about to book flight to Miami from OC just to make me some authentic pho after I showed her the prices and pictures. $29 - Special combo pho $24 regular brisket and meatball $18 - 3 small eggrolls that weren't fresh and half the size of normal eggrolls I don't mind paying way more for authentic Vietnamese around Miami since it's so scarce but at least deliver quality that is simple and standard. Service slow and the owner kept talking so loudly to the person right next to us that I had to wait for him to stop so we can have our own conversation. Waitress didn't have any knowledge of pho food at all. A question I always ask myself is "will I come back here if I'm desperate for Asian food?" Unfortunately, in this case it's a hard NO. The one pet peeve I'll always have with restaurants is when owners who have no business cooking, decide to open a pho restaurant and charge way more for subpar food, which is bit insulting to our people - their customers. Pho is a very important part of our culture and should be protected and held to high standards because it IS the predominant essence of the Vietnamese people. Providing delicious food to others is a love language in and of itself due to the time, love and attention you put into preparing it, but here at Tran Am, I felt unvalued due to the poor quality and crazy high prices.
