L26. General Tso's Chicken Dinner Combo

I was in the mood for Chinese food. . There wasn't that many places to choose from or that delivered to where we were staying. The pictures were ok, I definitely took a risk. Well glad that I did because it was really good. The only thing that was wrong with it was that the chicken was a little over fried. The flavor was good. It was also skimpy wit the chicken. If they used chunks of chicken and didn't over it, it would be yummy.

Got the sparkling lychee drink and it is a banger. Their drink game is on point. So sweet and has a sprite taste to it. Fast as well.

A hole in the wall in the heart of Miami Beach. Don't let the size of this place fool you, it was actually quite busy when I went here. I noticed that many people ordered their food to go. I was the exception where I actually ate it at the restaurant. There isn't very much room so you are sitting on bar stools eating on the counter. However, the food that I received is no frills Chinese food. I did get the lunch special although the lady at the counter actually got my order wrong. I wanted beef with vegetables, but surprise, I got chicken with vegetables. Nonetheless, it was still pretty decent and in good quantity. Since it was a lunch special, I also added egg drop soup for an additional dollar. It was hot and humid outside, so maybe egg drop soup wasn't the best idea, but it still hit the spot.

Had this delivered last night -- absolutely love. My fiancé and I are health nuts and this place has a great health conscious section of their menu. We ordered the steamed tofu w/ mixed veggies and chicken w/ mixed veggies with the delicious sauces on the side. Also did a small order of veggie Lo Mein, (very tasty) and steamed dumplings which were so good they were gone in a minute. Food arrived perfectly hot and on time. Will definitely order from here again. Wish my photo was prettier.

Our waiter was incredibly charming and helpful when it came to recommendations. The kitchen was a bit slow and he was so kind as to bring as an extra appetizer. We loved every single one of our dishes, what I really liked was how approachable yet slightly unique each dish was when compared to your traditional chinese restaurant dishes. Our table shared everything, some highlights: cucumber salad (could not get over how flavorful this was), four foot belt noodles (awesome presentation but spicy, the good kind of spice!), chili corn fried rice (LOVED this) and the charred cabbage. DO NOT SKIP ON DESSERT! We got both the Lo Mai Chi + Mai Lai Go and were sooo happy we go both. Insanely good, I am still thinking about both. Our favorites were the chicken dumplings, the refreshing cucumber salad, the crispy and delicious shrimp toast, and the perfectly seasoned stir-fried greens. Every course felt thoughtful, balanced, and exciting. A huge shoutout to our server, Daniel, who made the evening even better. He was warm, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. His recommendations were spot-on, and he guided us through the tasting experience with genuine enthusiasm. It's rare to have service that elevates a meal so much, but Daniel absolutely did. I absolutely loved the French toast, it came with a caramelized banana on top. It was as if I was enjoying some banana bread, the French toast was so soft to the bite. The service was wonderful. Everyone was extremely attentive. Parking is valet which is a flat rate of $40 if you are only there for breakfast. It goes up in price after 4 hours I believe. You can also park in a garage that's down the street which is way cheaper, if you don't mind walking a bit. Overall, we absolutely loved this spot for breakfast. I want to come back and try their lunch experience.

Between the tropical decor, inside-outside dining feel, and the incredible contortionist entertainment it was just icing on the cake that the food was delicious, too. Without specialization, it seems like their dishes are just ok. Steam Wagyu Beef Bao: A lot of hype and this was kinda disappointing. It tasted like a regular meatball inside a Chinese bun. Nothing really to make it seem special like the wagyu name implied. Pork Belly Ramen: This is pretty solid for food court ramen. It's no Ippudo, but the broth is very rich and pork. I liked the mix of corn and cabbage as veggies. The pork belly didn't seem slow cooked or tender. It was more like grilled. So some parts of fat were a bit too chewy (whereas a slow cook would melt in your mouth).
