I've lived in Martinez for 2 years and saw a Pho place a mile or two away from home. My sister told me about it and I had to check it out. I ordered food to go. It was packaged perfect, the broth separate from the noodles and the fixings that you put in on the top. The temperature was perfect. I didn't order ahead and it only took a few minutes. They have appetizers, Beef & Chicken Noodle Soups, Beef Stew, Rice Plates, Rice Vermicelli and Vietnamese Sandwiches. Smoothies too. Excellent service and fantastic food. I'll be back.

Wow... wow wow wow. This place is absolutely delicious. I was craving Pho on this cold, rainy day so we decided to come to Pho May. We ordered the chicken pho, the beef pho, the banh mi, and the thai tea.. I'm absolutely stuffed. I couldn't stop eating. The banh mi was so good, the meat was cooked to perfection with no fatty parts. It was vinegary, and the baguette was toasted so perfectly. I added some things into my chicken pho and it was perfect. I finished all the noodles and I normally get full super quickly. I couldn't stop drinking the broth and eating the sandwich. The thai tea was also so good, I wish we got another one to go but I was nervous I wouldn't be able to sleep from the caffeine haha. I cannot wait to come back to this place. Definitely a family owned, small business. They had their kids around which I truly didn't mind. This place is a must try.

Really delicious Pho. Beef broth was not greasy as it has been at other Pho establishments. Ordered the Brisket, Beef Ball, and Flank Pho. Flavor was all there, adding lime at the end with just noodles adds even more flavor. Prices are very reasonable. I also like that there's one size of Pho, and not 3 different sizes. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Food came out very quickly. Definitely going to come back here when im in the Martinez area.

I've been waiting for this to reopen and was so happy to see it open yesterday. Called in an order for pickup and the lady was super friendly on the phone and in person, too. This is the second pho place I've tried in Martinez (the first one closed last year and theirs was really basic, good but very minimal sides if any) so I liked this place a lot. They know how to make pho really well and it reminds me of the same quality abd style two old favorite pho places when I lived in Alameda/S.L. - Pho & Baguette on Central in Alameda (I think they've closed too) and Saigan II on Marina Blvd in San Leandro (An all-time fav). Yesterday I ordered and tried the pho Tai (rare steak) and Thai tea - both very good & I'll be back "pho" sure =) the inside was perfect to me..warm, friendly, homey, non-presumptuous. Like a diner-feel where you feel comfortable and welcome. I loved how they had Tom & Jerry playing on the TV, too.

Pork steamed buns: 8/10, not what I expected, i thought it'd be a red marinated pork but it was more of a seasoned meat ball in a bun. I didn't hate it and it paired well with the sauce of the braised beef :) Signature spicy wonton: 9/10, different for sure. I was expected more chili chucks but the oil itself was different from what I've had before. Love that they packed the wontons and oil separate for me to pair at home. Honestly, I'd come back and dine in. I saw things on Yelp that weren't options on Door Dash. All my dishes felt different from other places I've been with similar menu items. Would love to come here again, service was quick and interior was pleasant ^_^

The food is excellent. Highly recommend the hotpot for $20, you get your pick up three meat and three veggies and it's good enough for two. Steam soup dumplings and mapo tofu were awesome as well. Service was great, the ladies who worked there kept checking up on us to make sure we have everything we need. Served us tea, water, a little plate of peanuts without even asking. I think it's safe to say you can order anything on the menu and be happy with it. The only downside/tip I have is to not sit by the door. Their door slams super hard every time someone comes in and it's very distracting, other than that fantastic place to come back

I typically order out but if you eat in, the ambience is cute and bright. The food is always cooked very well and packaged well for takeout. The workers are also very kind and I hope more people find out about this restaurant. I love ordering the hot and sour soup because they give you this huge container for only $10. The soup dumplings (xi long bao) are better than ones I have found in San Francisco. The main classics are all done well like honey walnut shrimp and salt and pepper fish and wontons in chili oil, green beans and mapo tofu are some favorites. It's nice not to have to drive further into Concord for good Szechuan food!

I heard about this restaurant from my brother, and we decided to give it a try. My first…read moreimpression walking into it was that the restaurant was surprisingly huge inside, and I loved how well air conditioned it was, especially on a hot day. Overall, the place felt very clean, tidy, and well organized. The service was also great and staff were friendly and welcoming, which was definitely a plus. Now, let's get to the food review. Original Sisig Kapampangan: Absolutely delicious. It was served on a hot plate and had a savory, creamy flavor (possibly from the mayonnaise) while still tasting a bit tangy once you squeezed lemon over it. I'd definitely order this again. Beef Brisket Kare Kare: I honestly thought I didn't like kare kare until I tried their version. The peanut sauce was rich and savory without tasting like peanut butter in a jar like Skippy. The beef was tender, and I also loved the assortment of vegetables included in the dish. What really took it to another level, though, was the bagoong sauce (on the side), which paired so well with this dish. This dish was absolutely yummy. Sizzling Beef Brisket Ala Pobre: We were really excited to try this because we'd heard great things about it, but unfortunately, it didn't really deliver. The flavor was pretty bland, and even though it was topped with fried garlic, it was still missing a strong garlic flavor. The beef itself was tender, which was probably the only good thing about the dish, but aside from that, the sauce and overall flavor were just underwhelming. Garlic Rice: This came in a pretty generous portion enough for three. I could definitely taste the garlic, but I think it could've used a little more. Still, it was good overall.

We ordered Sisig, chicaron, lumpia, adobo rice, chicken adobo. Everything is okay. Good, not returning for more. I can't really say I like the service very much as well. Slow in general. If you are Filipino, you get better service. Not saying they mean it that way, but a very obvious observation. The ambiance was great, we had a friend preforming live on their stage and the whole place was popping. Drinks are good, performances are great. Great place for a party, just not the food and service for me.

I've heard of Yi Ji Chang Fen but only tried it today. I've eaten so much dim sum in my lifetime, so my standard for dim sum may be higher. We came around 5PM on a Saturday and there wasn't anyone really there. It could be because dim sum feels more like a morning or lunch thing, or it could just be because we were there for a very early dinner. Between our party, we shared: - Marinated Chicken and Mushroom Rice Roll - Stuffed Sticky Rice in Lotus Leaf - Steamed Chicken Feet w/ Black Bean Sauce - Black Gold Egg Custard Buns - Chicken Feet with Herbs - Dry Style Beef Chow Fun And one Honey Lemon Tea for me. The honey lemon tea was a comfort for the cold day. Maybe a bit too much honey, but still good for the throat during the dry season. The chow fun came first and surprisingly it was not bad. There was a bit of 'wok hey' there and it stands out as one of the better dishes we had. As for the rice roll - I wanted to try something less conventional and I've never seen chicken in rice rolls, so I thought it would be interesting to try. It was quite disappointing though. Their rice roll was bigger than normal in width so with rice rolls being a struggle to pick up already, the bigger size made it an even bigger struggle. Everything just slipped out of the rice roll and it wasn't evenly wrapped. There were some bunched up layers on the edges. I think the chicken just didn't pair that well either and it was lacking in ingredients. Maybe the more conventional rice rolls would be better. For the two types of chicken feet, I normally like the one in herbal soup. If made well, the chicken feet has a nice flavor to it. For Yi Fen's herbal chicken feet, their portion was pretty good, but flavor was less prominent. I enjoyed the chicken feet in black bean sauce more because the flavor was better. Lastly, for the stuffed sticky rice and black gold egg custard buns, I suspect that these are not made in-house, but rather store-bought. The sticky rice lacked ingredients and the rice was a little harder than if made fresh. And the perfectly shaped black buns with a golden brush stroke on top (which I've seen all over the internet) seemed too elevated-looking compared to everything else. I'm not the biggest fan of molten lava buns, but they came out nicely. I didn't have any, but the molten lava custard was pretty runny. All in all, an okay experience. Service was a bit lacking. I don't recommend the dim sum dishes, but if I happen to want congee, I may give this place another go. Apart from the dim sum and rice rolls, the noodles I glimpsed from other customers looked not bad. I wonder if other locations are better.

The food is better than Berkeley and congee was the right consistency and my kids liked the food. Would be a great location if service is better.
