This is the hidden gem. Foods are so good and affordable. The owner is so nice and heartwarming. They checked on us frequently and made sure we were happy with experience. The location used to be "Mint",it looks like the same chef is now cooking for "Pho May". One of the only places to get a banh mi sandwich which is appreciated but I wish the price was better. Chicken pho was very good but too much noodles. Beef pho was also very good. Beef stew needed more broth and less noodles. Dipping sauce for spring rolls was too sweet. I was waited on by a male server who was very friendly and the restaurant was clean and atmosphere was very nice. he seating was a bit small but i had a booth to myself and it was very comfortable. For take out only: The broth (the most important part) is so rich and flavorful that even my husband who is picky about these things likes it. They have good portion sizes and the toppings that come with it are quite fresh. My only VERY MINOR complaints are that instead of Thai basil they put cilantro in the toppings selection and sometimes the beef in my pho tai can be a bit tough. Definitely an improvement over Mint, which previously occupied this storefront. Pho May is located on Alhambra Avenue. There is a parking lot, which makes parking relatively easy. The restaurant is reasonably clean. The staff/servers are very friendly and attentive. The menu at Pho May offers your usual Vietnamese options. UNSAFE UNCLEAN. THEY DO NOT WEAR MASKS WHILE COOKING. VERY UNSANITARY I just picked up food and when I went in 0/3 employees were wearing masks. The chef didn't have a mask on at all. Having dinner with my husband here for the 1st time and WE WILL BE BACK! Food is fresh and delicious! Service is very attentive. We drove down Alhambra and I remember seeing this spot, but never came in. So glad I came by and tried it out. I ordered the beef and rice plate and it was so good. Staying in Martinez for a quick trip and was so excited to see a pho place on the map! It seems like they're still working out some of the kinks, mostly regarding the service. However our first round of food came out very quickly. The spring rolls were very fresh and the peanut sauce was savory and tangy. We got a double order. I ordered the #9 pho and felt that the broth was a bit bland, but was easily flavored with sriracha, hoisin, soy sauce, and lime. It also doesn't seem they serve basil as a side, which isn't a deal breaker but worth mentioning if you love basil in your pho. The noodles were a pinch condensed when first served but easily separated after a few stirs. My mom got the #17 and she was super happy with the tame broth since she doesn't care for spice. She also loved the clear noodles. We then ordered some dishes for take out, which is when we struggled a little to get a waiter's attention. However, everything was quickly prepared and ready for us by check out at the front counter! We've been there twice and have had combined a total of six items. Only two of which we would order again. The chicken pho and fish sauce chicken wings were both good. The bahn mi aren't anything to write home about, The flank and beef ball soup wasn't a hit and the fried egg rolls were a no. That all being said, the staff is naive, place is clean and most of all convenient. We will likely be back when we don't want to go far. Solid 3 stars. Nothing more though. read more

Came here after a bad experience at the noodle house down the street. Not a bad spot for pho - they had the combo I like and the flavor of the broth was good. My critiques are as follows: -Only one size/price for a bowl of pho. Bad for those who usually get a small size. -Seemed that their central air was not functioning at the time.
