I've lived in Martinez for 2 years and saw a Pho place a mile or two away from home. My sister told me about it and I had to check it out. I ordered food to go. It was packaged perfect, the broth separate from the noodles and the fixings that you put in on the top. The temperature was perfect. I didn't order ahead and it only took a few minutes. They have appetizers, Beef & Chicken Noodle Soups, Beef Stew, Rice Plates, Rice Vermicelli and Vietnamese Sandwiches. Smoothies too. Excellent service and fantastic food. I'll be back.

Wow... wow wow wow. This place is absolutely delicious. I was craving Pho on this cold, rainy day so we decided to come to Pho May. We ordered the chicken pho, the beef pho, the banh mi, and the thai tea.. I'm absolutely stuffed. I couldn't stop eating. The banh mi was so good, the meat was cooked to perfection with no fatty parts. It was vinegary, and the baguette was toasted so perfectly. I added some things into my chicken pho and it was perfect. I finished all the noodles and I normally get full super quickly. I couldn't stop drinking the broth and eating the sandwich. The thai tea was also so good, I wish we got another one to go but I was nervous I wouldn't be able to sleep from the caffeine haha. I cannot wait to come back to this place. Definitely a family owned, small business. They had their kids around which I truly didn't mind. This place is a must try.

Really delicious Pho. Beef broth was not greasy as it has been at other Pho establishments. Ordered the Brisket, Beef Ball, and Flank Pho. Flavor was all there, adding lime at the end with just noodles adds even more flavor. Prices are very reasonable. I also like that there's one size of Pho, and not 3 different sizes. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Food came out very quickly. Definitely going to come back here when im in the Martinez area.

I've been waiting for this to reopen and was so happy to see it open yesterday. Called in an order for pickup and the lady was super friendly on the phone and in person, too. This is the second pho place I've tried in Martinez (the first one closed last year and theirs was really basic, good but very minimal sides if any) so I liked this place a lot. They know how to make pho really well and it reminds me of the same quality abd style two old favorite pho places when I lived in Alameda/S.L. - Pho & Baguette on Central in Alameda (I think they've closed too) and Saigan II on Marina Blvd in San Leandro (An all-time fav). Yesterday I ordered and tried the pho Tai (rare steak) and Thai tea - both very good & I'll be back "pho" sure =) the inside was perfect to me..warm, friendly, homey, non-presumptuous. Like a diner-feel where you feel comfortable and welcome. I loved how they had Tom & Jerry playing on the TV, too.

It's a charming area, and the Market & Main food court is such an inviting place with several takeout options. I decided to get a banh mi dinner for Jamie W and me, so I ordered the $9.50 Large Pork Belly Sandwich (Photo 4) and the $9.50 Large Five-Spice Chicken Sandwich (Photo 2) for us to share. Both came with a slathering of pate which was definitely a plus. We both agreed they were decent but so dominated by the bread and veggies that the proteins didn't have a chance. Surprisingly, the highlight turned out to be the $1.50 Parmesan Cheese Corn, a pair of munchable cobettes that worked as a contrasting flavor and texture (Photo 6). They offer other dishes like vermicelli plates and pho bowls, so I may need to consider those options if there's a next time. I was excited to see the size of the Bahn Mi sandwich, but disappointed in the texture of the bread. For me the bread makes a sandwich especially a Bahn Mi. The bread was a little hard into it. Was not sure it was fully fresh. The pork belly was rubbery & very thinly sliced and more veggie than meat. The wings came with the Korean sauce on them already, than on the side. The Korean sauce was soy sauce forward instead of a balanced flavor. Not a fan. The pickled papaya was not spicy & was pickled in a sweet pickling marinade. I guess I was expecting it to taste more vinegar forward. I have had plenty of Bahn Mi sandwiches in the area this was my least favorite.

It may look small from the outside but the inside is spacious and clean. Service is always quick, friendly and awesome! The #47 Bun Bo Hue aka BBH ($13.99) is really good. It has a lot of noodles and meat like pork knuckle, pork blood, and slices of beef shanks. My parents usually take the leftover broth home and make another dish with ramen, the broth is that good! #31 Phi Dac Biet or Beef Pho Special ($13.50 or $14.50) is good. Has a lot of variety of different cuts of beef. The #45 Seafood Noodle Soup ($12.99 or $13.99) is decent. Comes with some shrimps but lots of fishballs and calamari/squid. I don't often get it unless I want soup. What I like best is the #52 Com Suon Nuong or Grilled Pork Chop over Rice ($13.25). it comes with some slaps of grilled pork chop, chopped lettuce, picked carrots and daikons, rice and a side of soup and fish sauce. This is my go to post-workout meal and it always hits the spot. They don't skimp on the pork chops either! If you add an egg roll and fried egg it is $15.25 but usually without the extra food, it is already more than enough.
