Also had an oder of crispy pork spring rolls. They were very tasty and amazingly crispy. I got an order of Bun vermicelli to go with shrimp and short ribs. I had it the next day for lunch. It was good, but not great. The short ribs were sliced so thin that I would compare them to five sheets of paper in thickness. There were six pieces of this, which might make up one normal sized piece of short rib that you would expect to get several of in an order of this type. There was also no Thai basil at all in the dish. The place is obviously family run as there were three or four children between the ages of about five and 12 running around the whole time. Ambiance: This charming family-run place is tucked inside Asia Town Center. They have a bearded dragon chilling by the front door and, on time, they had a whole hog, roasted ducks, and incense set out as prayer shrine which my parents used to do growing up. The parents don't speak great english but their kids who look like teenagers do. They're very patient and helpful if you have questions about their menu and their prices are very reasonable. It's not the most professional place but you truly get a sense of the first-generation immigrant experience happening here which is something pretty cool to experience and support. Food: The pho here is one of the better options in Cleveland. The broth has a solid beefy flavor that isn't adulterated with sugar or black pepper like some other places although there might be a hint of tumeric I could do without. Their add-in veges including the sprouts, onions, and basil are fresh and the portions of beef, tripe, and noodles are well-proportioned. We have also had the cha siu banh mi which was a little light on the cha siu but otherwise was spot on in terms of the bread, do chua pickles, pate, etc. It tasted exactly like the banh mi I grew up eating in San Diego and LA. Like other reviewers might have noted, the menu is a little pared down compared to Superior Pho and Number One Pho nearby. You won't find shredded pork skin and steamed egg loaf in the rice dishes or cold cuts in your sandwiches but what they do offer, they generally do very well. If you've been unimpressed with the other Pho offerings in town, i would recommend giving this place a try. read more

I finally tried Pho Lee's for the first time, and I'm not disappointed. I've been missing good Vietnamese food from California, and let me tell you, this place doesn't pale in comparison. I went safe and I tried the Pho Tai (Pho with rare beef) and Cha Gio (fried spring rolls-minced pork etc). +Pho Tai: Okay, so I'm weird and I don't usually like getting combination pho with all the fixings, I like my slices of rare beef. They package their takeout extremely well. The bean sprouts, jalapenos, mint, basil, lime etc. are all in one separate plastic baggie. The noodles, cilantro, and onions are in a take out container. And the broth is in sturdy plastic container. The rare beef slices are kept raw in a separate baggie. There's also one hoisin and one sriracha packet. The raw beef quality was so much better than I expected, I'm pleasantly surprised at how tender it was, just be careful not to overcook them. I got 10 slices of beef (I know, I know, I actually counted!) The broth is light, but still flavorful enough. $9.95 +Cha Gio: Comes with four, and served with Nuoc Mam (fish sauce based savory/sweet dipping sauce). They're good but I'm not sure if they're worth $2 a piece. I'll probably just stick to the Pho next time, but they're still yummy and remind me of home. $8 Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with the take out packaging and quality of the food. I was able to heat up the Pho in my electric pot, so everything was super hot and delicious. Looking at some of the other Yelp reviews, they mentioned the owners were from California, so I'm not surprised at the quality of the food. Pho Lee's is located inside Asian Town Center. The food was great. Honestly one of the best pho restaurants I have tried before. Unfortunately, the owners and the waiter were incredibly rude and showed obvious preferential treatment toward the table full of white men. My companion and I were ignored except for when the owners took our money and they quickly went straight back to sucking up. They barely even acknowledged the Black Doordash employee that came in to pick up food too. I expect better from a restaurant that came all the way from California to Cleveland, which has a large Black community. I had the bun bo hue. The broth is super spicy! That was the spiciest bun bo hue I've ever eaten at a Vietnamese restaurant. The side of the table had more chili oil, but I doubt anyone would need to add it in their bun bo hue. The meat portions were generous, and I even found a tasty pig knuckle in the bowl as well. My companion had a regular pho with beef that tasted great too. Not too salty and doesn't taste entirely of seasoning like green onion. Parking is plentiful and being seated six feet apart for avoiding COVID infections is easy given the amount of space the restaurant has. They're not busy during evenings because they're not advertising outside of Asian Town Center the same way Miga is. read more

We ordered two Sunkists - they serve soda in the can - the Pho Tai Chin (rare steak and brisket), the spicy beef noodle soup, and the crispy egg rolls. Everything was phenomenal. The soups came with Thai basil, bean sprouts, jalapeños and limes on the side so that we could adjust the spice and flavor to our liking. The table had hot sauce and hoisin sauce for the meat. I've tried a few pho spots in Cleveland and Pho Lee's is one of my favorites. I have both dined in and ordered delivery from various apps, and it hits the spot every time. The staff is friendly and the service is super fast, and their menu has every combination that I would ever want to order, but isn't so large that it's overwhelming. My favorite is the P5 (pho tai nam sach). When I got this order in my delivery, the individual components were nicely separated, including the raw meat slices, and their pho always is a very generous serving. Their goi cuon (Vietnamese spring rolls) are also so fresh and comes with a great sauce. Most recently, I came with a friend and we also split an order of cha giao (crispy egg rolls) at the recommendation of the waiter and it was very good - I was worried I wasn't going to like the filling but all of the ingredients ended up working so well together. I came here today with some friends and we all enjoyed some tasty fresh Vietnamese food! The store is in a dark hallway in the Asian Town Center Shopping mall and looks a little dingy, but is authentically Vietnamese. They've got the classic shop owner's kid running around (he's so cute and helpful though!), fish tanks, the drinks fridge, everything. All the tables are topped with utensils, sriracha, hoisin, and tương ớt sa tế. Moving onto the food, I ordered a bowl of N1, bún bò huế to warm up. I was surprised it came in a clay pot bowl because they normally aren't cooked in that but still cool! The vermicelli was cooked well, and the meat was so soft and tender. There was pig hock, beef shank, tendon and chả lụa. I also usually love pork blood cubes in this which they didn't have, but I understand that they wouldn't put that in here since we're in Ohio LOL. The dish also came with shredded banana blossom and cabbage, bean sprouts lime, and thai basil. Wish they had rau răm/Vietnamese coriander but again, understandable! The only real complaint I have about this dish is that it wasn't as flavorful as I would have liked so I had to put a lot of sa tế sauce in it to bump it up to my preferred spiciness and to up the lemongrass factor. This would be good for people who aren't tolerant of hot foods though and I still found it very satisfying in the end! The meat was really cooked to perfection. One of my friends ordered N4, bún chả giò + sườn bò Đại Hàn and demolished it. She complained the beef was a little tough, but the meal was still delicious with soft noodles in flavorful nước chấm/dipping sauce. Another ordered their phở and also cleaned it, though didn't have much to say except that it was good. It also came with the standard toppings of thai basil and bean sprouts.
