I hate writing a bad review. I'm not sure I ever have. Visited yesterday for a post holiday birthday gathering. No one was there but my little group. Cement floors, uncomfy metal chairs and a cold room. Waitress was nice and attentive. Pad Thai and seaweed salads ordered. And tea , it was cold. Barely any seaweed and a bunch of lettuce. Tasty but small. Very small. The pad Thai was a very very large dish with a very small portion. Either lower the price or make the meals a tad bigger. I understand we were at Pinecrest but it still was very little food. Maybe this is why we were there for two hours and were the only patrons. I will likely not return. read more

I've been to this location now 4x and this most recent time unfortunately makes it so I won't ever go back. The Aurora location is much better. Both times my experience was pretty wonderful. Came here for dinner on Mother's Day because Lao Szechuan was a 45-min wait. Welp, my 7-yr old's simple sushi order took 45min to get so on second thought, we definitely should've just waited! My BF ordered a coconut Thai soup and it was $9 for a half filled tiny bowl with only a few pieces of mushroom and bits of tofu. He liked it but was put off by the tiny amount, lack of veggies and high price. I ordered the Dragon noodle which came with the chef's recommendation. The amount of noodles in the bowl was a joke. And they took the cheap route by using rice noodles instead of wheat, egg or anything else. The spare ribs were a bit overcooked and dry but at least not bland. I wouldn't pair it with broccoli--bak choy, mushrooms, woodear, bamboo would've been so much better. And Asian. The worst part about the visit is that our server never updated us on where the sushi went. I had to ask a different server who told us the sushi orders were lost. Okay...still no apology or acknowledgement of where the dish went after ordering it 40+ min ago. When it finally came, the other server brought it out and our server said nothing about it. My poor daughter was so hungry and watching us eat our dishes. I gave her a big portion of my meal so she could enjoy dinner as well. The place cleared out and emptied completely as we were still trying to enjoy the sushi that just came out. No apology, no offers of comped meal or discount...I even had to ask for chopsticks and water refills and the check and a takeout container. The value is just nil here and the quality has gone down since first visiting here in 2022. Service is bad and their shades don't even go down so the sun was obnoxiously in our face the entire time. Skip Pinecrest and go to Asiatown for a more authentic and better priced experience! read more

The service was extremely attentive and warm with greetings upon arrival, multiple check-ins during the meal and a friendly farewell). The atmosphere is casual and cute. The bar area was probably the most attractive in the small restaurant. We went at dinner time right when they opened, and it wasn't crowded at all which was nice. The meal overall was very good. What a treat to have such authentic dishes locally in Cleveland! I had the Massaman Curry, which was the best dish I've had in a long time. In fact it was a bit worse because I kept biting into tiny bits of I don't know what. Maybe they actually put pebbles in your meal cause whatever it was was hard as a rock. My husband and the Massaman curry and like my others he did enjoy that. We also started with crab Rangoon, which was unlike any I've had, and disappointing. It was a spring roll wrapper (very crunchy, which was the only part I liked) it was basically 98% cream cheese and couple of imitation crab pieces nothing else. Upon my most recent visit to the area I found myself looking for some new places to eat at. Well this place was right around the corner and even better they delivery with door dash. Upon my first evening I gave the Thai Basil Chicken fried rice a shot. Game winner. It was so good I thought let's have another go, so I ordered the Chicken Pho. This place is 2 for 2 now. Even with delivery the food was hot, good, and they nailed it both times. I have not dined in with them, however next time I'm in the area I may. Or I may just be a couch potato and have them deliver. Nevertheless this place impressed and left me full (with food leftover), happy, and not to big of a ding to my wallet. I've had the chicken pho from Sand Pebble several times before this and it was delicious. I'm unsure if they changed the recipe since the last time I ordered, but what I ate today was nearly inedible and tasted more like minced garlic soup than chicken pho broth. The broth was by far the most disappointing part of the meal with the chicken chunks coming in a close second. The chicken was what you'd expect to see out of a can. It had a weird texture and taste, unlike the chunky chicken they've used in the past. The fixings were also lacking. There were very few bean sprouts, the basil was already included in the broth container, so you couldn't control how much to use. Overall, it was terribly disappointing and confusing considering I've had good pho from Sand Pebble in the past. Sadly, I'm afraid to order again to see if it was a one-off mistake. read more

I've had dinner here twice when in town for work. The food has been delicious --this last visit included the best massaman curry ever! I've also been impressed with the staff. Prices are fair. Decent wine selection. Because of the tint on their windows and the layout of their seating, it can look empty from the street. We were in the mood for some warm noodles since it was so cold outside so we ordered the ramen with chicken and chicken pad thai. Very disappointing. The ramen arrived with very, very few noodles. It's a ramen dish and you couldn't see the noodles above the broth. The price was high too - $19. The pad thai wasn't much better and also expensive - $16. They have a small patio and there was music playing in the green space across the street so it made for a lovely atmosphere! We tried the shrimp spring rolls with peanut sauce and they were good. For entrees, at the recommendation of our server, we tried their version of pad Thai which came with crispy fried chicken and shrimp and the Masaman curry with chicken. Friday night date at Sand Pebbles in Pinecrest was a delight for everyone! The interior of the restaurant has great Feng shui. Big bright windows are the entire front face. So that shines in and makes for a really nice light. There is a front patio as well! The art and colors are all really great to look at. They have the greatest hits from many Asian cuisines and everything was executed very well! We were seated immediately - it was somewhat busy for a Friday night. Our group ordered the miso soup & vegetable soup - veg broth was delectable. Amazing. Would have a bowl for lunch. Entrees were all well received. The plating and garnishes were spectacular. Everything comes out as the kitchen completes it, not all at once. I'm fine with this because it's maximum freshness! I liked the tomatoes with the fried rice! This place has gone downhill. My family went here about a year ago and had a good experience. The menu, staff and apparently the management have all changed, along with the food quality and prices. I ordered General Tso's chicken and what they gave me was chicken nuggets with a dipping sauce. None of the ingredients from the popular dish were included and it wasn't prepared the right way. Even worse, the prices have skyrocketed. $25 for pad thai! This cuisine is not supposed to cost this much. To top it off they charged us an unadvertised 3% surcharge for using a credit card. I've never seen that at a reputable restaurant before. we told the manager we weren't coming back and he didn't care. This place just opened and seems to be bopping as it's right in the heart of Pinecrest. I had made a reservation so we didn't need to wait, but it was clearly a busy Friday night for them. We ordered the gyoza , lettuce, chicken, wraps, and short ribs , chicken pad, Thai, green curry ( has a kick to it!) The waitstaff vibe, and overall feel of the restaurant was charming and fun to experience. If you're in the Pinecrest area after a bit of shopping, I would highly recommend this place to warm up and get some grub. I have stopped into this little gem of a restaurant twice now and both times, the food was excellent! It's a smaller venue and parking is not super convenient (the lot behind the movie theater is the closest access point) but it's in a great location if you are visiting the Pinecrest shopping area, the movie theatre, or in my case, the Candle Studio next door. Both times I came were on weeknights around 7pm. Neither time was it very busy and the servers were incredibly polite and attentive. The menu boasts tons of yummy choices from many Easten Asian cuisines like Thai, Korea and China. I chose the Singapore Noodles both times but my friends enjoyed the salads, the Massaman Curry, the Pad Thai, and the soup. Presentation was beautiful for all dishes and the staff were happy to make substitutions and special requests. My vegetarian friend who is currently trying a vegan diet was delighted with the number of options she had to choose from. My stepmother was celebrating her birthday - they asked us, we didn't tell them - and they brought her a beautiful Thai coconut cake and sang for her. I already have plans to go back in two weeks. The ambiance is so nice as was the staff; like extremely kind and attentive. The food was good but for me not good enough for the price point. My friend and I both had ramen; I had the chicken and she had the shrimp. The broth lacked the depth I'm accustomed to for authentic ramen but the grilled chicken in my ramen was delicious! My favorite thing was the Por Pia (Ground chicken, cabbage, carrot, onion, celery & silver noodles deep fried and served with sweet and sour sauce). So freaking good. People work hard for their money and I want them to know before spending it. The rice noodle and onions looked and tasted the same so I don't know what was in my dish. They were very heavy on the veggies and light on the meat which is an up charge. You're basically paying for fancy plating and garish because the food was mid. The portions are small for the price, but a nice size for a meal. You likely won't have enough leftovers for later, so know that going in. The staff is very friendly, but our waitress not very attentive. She only came to drop off our food and bring the bill. The restaurant is small, clean, and they played old school r&b, so they may cater to a particular demo. I'd recommend just visit your local neighborhood restaurants because you're likely to get tastier food and more bang for your buck. read more

Ok, first of all the service was terrible, they lied about having certain things in the menu or "not having it today" when I clearly saw those items at other tables. Our food came out later than people who had reservations so I felt as if because I didn't have a reservation I was treated as lesser than those people who had that. I had to sit outside even though they had open tables inside and I kept getting nasty looks from some of the servers. The food was ok but I paid the same price of 50$ at Olive Garden and the food and service was better there than at Sand Pebbles. I asked for napkins and they said they don't have napkins and said that they only had towels back in storage and I got a green washcloth...this was just one of the worst restaurant experience I've ever had, I SERIOUSLY don't recommend this place it just makes me very angry please I beg of you don't go here if you ever travel down near Pinecrest. If you do, get a reservation and maybe see if it's different. read more
