Since I discovered this place, I've loved it. I introduced it to a Cleveland friend on one visit and to my son who lives out of town at a different time. Always RAVES! But last night, I don't know what went wrong. It was SO HOT inside. I guess there was no way to cool off the premises. I ordered my usual favorite, Masaman curry with tofu. This time, the bowl looked empty. The tofu pieces were hard and dried out. The potatoes were hard. There wasn't much kick to the curry. Just a really disappointing dish. I hope when I come there next time, I will be able to return to the RAVES! read more

Came here before a show at the grog shop and the food was mediocre. Service was great, staff was nice and food came out decently quick. The restaurant was empty and only half was used for dining while the other half was more like storage. We ordered the dumplings, chicken wings and i got a country style pad thai. The dumplings were just okay. The sauce was different than what I was used to, it wasn't super vinegary and had a slight sweetness to it, and they served it on the plate with dumplings instead of on the side. The chicken wings were really salty. It seemed like they used fish sauce but there wasn't any flavor except for just salt (served with a side of fish sauce). It was also overfried making it tough to bite into and eat. The pad thai however was delicious. Super flavorful, noddles were chewy. The shrimp wasn't super seasoned and the tofu was a overcooked. i found this place a few months back and have been going at least every other weekend!! they are literally the most amazing pad thai and such reasonable pricing. the owner is super nice and u get such a great portion of food for what you pay. i recommend the pad see ewe or that chicken pad thai. always get some siam rolls or potstickers to go with my meal. read more

I've been passing by High Thai'd for over a year and finally got to try it yesterday. They currently are only doing take out (no dine in). Our food came out very quickly, within 10-15 minutes of us ordering. However, it was nothing to write home about. The basil fried rice was mostly just rice (not a lot of toppings). It had two spice signs next to it but was barely spicy. The crazy noodles had a good amount of vegetables and the chicken was moist, but the noodles were clumpy and not super flavorful. Overall, the food was decent and not too expensive, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get it. read more

Although i do appreciate a punny restaurant name, the pad thai here is super average. I live close by so decided to get takeout. My roommate got the regular pad thai and I got the country pad thai, which is a little bit more spicy and flavorful. I would definitely opt for the country version- the normal version looks like it has no sauce on it. I have never in my life seen a pad thai so pale. High Thai'd has been my go to Thai restaurant for the past five years. My friends and I would go a couple times every month every time we needed a break from dorm food. Our go to family style order was tofu triangles, pa nang curry with tofu, crazy noodles, and basil fried rice with tofu. The tofu at high Thai'd is much better than the meat options. It is crispy on the outside and melt in your mouth soft on the inside. The pa nang curry is one of my favorites. They add a variety of veggies like green beans, eggplant, etc that takes it to a new level that I haven't had at other Thai restaurants. It also pairs great with the basil fried rice. Another plus is the Thai tea and boba they have available. It's a great addition to help balance out a spicy meal. Overall, I love high Thai'd and always bring my family here when they are in town and it has always been a bit! read more

This is our new go-to Thai spot in Cleveland. Our old restaurant didn't maintain its quality post pandemic so we decided to try High Thai'd. Good Thai food is hard to come by! We had liked it a few years ago and it held up! The pad Thai is excellent- not too sweet, not too nutty, and the shrimp and chicken are incredibly tender. The pad see yew is good but not incredible, I think if the noodles were the wider shape and softer it would be perfect. Basil fried rice is similarly good. Really wanted Thai food and came here b/c several others were closed for Labor Day. Food was plentiful and hot. But no one was hardly in the restaurant and had to wait like 15-20 min for a seat. Ordered Spring Rolls and very bread no shrimp in them (despite the description). Had the Pad Thai and again very stingy on mediocre shrimp. Also the pad Thai was sweet?? Friends and I stopped by this restaurant​ Saturday evening and it was surprisingly​ empty considering how delicious the food was. I did notice that they had a lot of takeout orders which makes me think the weather was keeping everyone away! They have more tables in the back which is where we all sat. The staff was friendly, the food came out quickly, and the price point was reasonable considering how much food you get. My lemon drop martini was a little sweeter than what I'm used to but still quite good (it was also $5.50 aka a DEAL). The Green Curry was GREAT! I am a wimp with spice so I thought my dish was a bit spicy, however, the friends I was with mentioned their dishes weren't spicy enough. I definitely will be returning! read more

I love coming to High Thai'd. The staff is always pleasant and in good spirits. The first time I came here, there was a power outage on Coventry, so my friend and I ate by phone light while laughing with the staff. The calmness of the restaurant is almost meditative. As a student, I love to come here during an exam week when I don't have time to cook. I can sit here, eat my pad thai, and decompress my mind in this cozy little establishment on Coventry. My favorite dish is the Country Pad Thai and I always get it 7/7 on the spicy scale because I don't consider it to be very spicy (you won't be crying or anything). Prices are pretty reasonable for the amount of food you get and it is always brought out quickly. Definitely come here if you want some thai food that is affordable, will fill you up, and served quickly. read more

We ordered a country style pad thai, basil fried rice with tofu, and thai iced tea. Pad thai was great and the basil fried rice was yummy with a little spice! This is the worst Thai food experience I've ever had!! I placed an order one hour before closing and was told 15 mins and to hurry since they were closing so maybe that's why the quality is horrible but that shouldn't matter!! They should want business until at least 15 mins til closing since they are carry out only and they should slack on quality regardless of what time an order is placed!! Everything is extremely over cooked!! The noodles stick together in both dishes, they're dry and lack flavor! The fried rice is burnt, with every bite I taste the burnt char! I dined here accidentally, wandering in only after my first choice for dinner was unexpectedly closed for vacation. So. Very. Glad. I. Did. -spinach dumplings: tender, perfectly steamed, filled with spiced veggies and served with ginger sauce -seaweed salad: amazing flavors, just the right amount of briny goodness, tempered with red pepper and sesame oil. The iceburg lettuce bed didn't add anything though, I would have preferred more seaweed -tofu and vegetable pad thai: initially concerned about the slightly colorless noodles, but thankfully the flavor was spot on. Don't be fooled! The place itself may not look too fancy or spectacular but food is consistently good and on days that they are not too busy, the food comes out so quickly! I have never been disappointed with the food here and for the price that you pay, it's definitely worth making a spot to try or become a regular at. It's not a fancy restaurant that you go to if you're visiting Cleveland and want both the taste and the ambience. It's near a college campus and is catered towards college students or families living near the area. The manager is always super nice to us- even before he knew that we were becoming regulars there. The only down side is that sometimes they get busy randomly on a weekday and due to the lack of staff, the usual quick service becomes slow. I don't think it's a huge deal if you go there often enough since the food is worth the wait but if you're super hungry or it's the first time going there, it might ruin your experience. read more

We ate at High Thai'd for the second time last night. For our first experience in any Thai place we go straight for the staples. The Pad Thai on our first visit was incredible. So good that we couldn't wait to come back! Second visit...ugh. Not a horrible meal by any stretch, but we opted for their curry dishes this time around and were a little disappointed. The curry was pretty runny and the flavor was lacking a bit. The ingredients were all fresh, but the overall meal just missed the mark. The seaweed salad app was really good and well worth the $5 it cost. We'll go back and try it again since it's so close to our house, but it'll be a while before we do. Shame because it's in a great spot and is a cute place. read more

The food is not bad, but I would say not as well done as their predecessor, Mint Cafe. They have your typical Thai fare, so be prepared for some glistening noodles. The spices are pretty good, but nothing is astonishing. I do like coming here for lunch though because the prices are not bad. Sushi here is clean, but not fancy. You won't get sick, but you don't get that much pizazz either. For a lunch time meal, unless you're requesting a lot of flair, this is not bad. But do be careful of time. I think I found my new favorite thai spot! I hadn't been to High Thai'd before the other day, and what a loss that is - I could have been eating amazing thai food this whole time! Other thai restaurants in the area are good, but High Thai'd's pad thai and thai tea really hit the spot. Their thai tea was flavorful and creamy, and their pad thai was super fresh and came with a good amount of protein (both chicken and shrimp). The price was extremely reasonable as well, as my whole bill came out to less than $15, including tip! The only thing I would caution - if you're going at a peak time and they tell you 25 mins, you might want to give them some extra time. I ended up waiting 10-15 mins more for my food, which was fine, but was still longer than the estimate. Overall, I can't wait to come back and try more dishes! read more

3.5 that I'll round to 4* We went late at night on a weekday, arrived 45 mins before closing. Some restaurants would have turned us away given nobody else was there. But they sat us and were super courteous all night.. no rushing.. no pressure. We got the deviled wings for appetizer. The name made me think it was going to be spicy, which it wasn't. But it was super fresh and crispy, well seasoned, and one of the best chicken wing appetizers I've had in a while. I got the crazy noodles, which were pretty good. Nothing wrong with them, but nothing spectacular. Broad noodles, with some chicken, shrimp, and veggies. He got the Conventry Road Madness: shrimp, mussels, squid, with veggies in a deliciously spicy sauce. Ever since our trip to Thailand last year, we keep saying that Thai food in the States is a whole different beast from that in Thailand. But this place comes prety close... I also got the green tea boba smoothie, and he got the thai iced tea -- both were yummy. It's a easy location for us, and the food isn't anything to blow your mind -- but it's good. Storms all night kept me awake - but I finally got a bit of sleep. I got up early to return the rental truck, finished packing up my motorcycle, put on my gear and kissed my mother goodbye. I headed to Cleveland Heights to meet one of my best high school friends for lunch - with a short side trip to Ferrara's - and arrived at the front door of Tommy's only to discover: CLOSED. Apparently, Coventry suffered quite a power loss - and the folks at Tommy's (which serves breakfast) decided to take the rest of the day off! Fortunately for my friend and me - the staff of High Thai don't serve breakfast and the power was restored before noon. Eric and I had a most excellent lunch here - and I was able to park my motorcycle within view of our seats at the front of the restaurant. Friendly staff who were helpful in determining whether the curry was vegan friendly (no Nam Pla upon request). We had the crispy tofu triangles (fried tofu is essential fuel for the solo motorcycle traveler!) and we also had some green beans & tofu and some delicious curry. All the food was quite excellent. The noise level in the restaurant was not at all bad - we were able to talk and work out routes from Cleveland Hts so I could avoid the freeways and it seems like every young waiter at High Thai came up to pay his respects and give me his wishes for a safe trip once they realized that the fully loaded motorcycle was mine. Several of them said they wished they could be making my trip! What a sweet send off from Cleveland! Excellent company, delicious food and super polite, professional and friendly service. Yummmmmm. Came here for a late night dinner and left satisfied. I saw the Pad See Ew and was sold. I also ordered the taro bubble tea out of curiosity since I'm trying to find a boba place in Cleveland that I like. The bubble tea came in smoothie forms, not like milk tea. We came about an hour before closing and were seated right away - ordered within about 5-10 minutes of being seated. Our waiter was very attentive and quick with our orders. We got our drinks first - I tried the honeydew (very sweet for those who have a sweet tooth) and the thai iced tea was delicious. The taro bubble tea was amazing! My only reservations about the bubble tea were the pearls themselves. They weren't chewy and too soft but I suspect that's because we came before closing and got the last of the pearls. The portion size of our food was just right and enough to take half home though it was delicious enough to finish in one sitting. I like my food spicy but wasn't sure about the levels here so I got a 3/5 on the spice rating. They included extra spice seasonings on the side in case we wanted to add more - I added a good spoonful extra to get my spice fill. The Pad See Ew included shrimp and chicken, both of which were delightfully moist and not overcooked. I also tried the Pad Thai and definitely would have added more spice to it (or ordered the Country Pad Thai). It had a bit more lime than I would have liked but it was still tasty. I love this place but I was really disappointed in the edamame that was brown and gross. It seemed old and overcooked, being shut in the styrofoam box didn't help. The vegetable curry was great as usual but it didn't have eggplant and bamboo shoots like it's supposed to. They added zucchini squash which was delicious but I missed the eggplant and bamboo shoots. I wish they at least told me that they were out of my favorite vegetables and I will not be ordering edamame from here again. read more

Ordered ahead via door dash. Pho with chicken and a Thai tea. Arrives 20 min later and my order wasn't ready. The place was essentially empty but I assumed there could have been a lot of other online orders, so I was ok to wait a bit. Got my food to go about 8 min after arriving. Got home and unpacked...... Opening the container that had the chicken, basil, cilantro, sprouts etc.....I was greeted by an odor. The basil, cilantro and sprouts were all brown. I almost didn't even recognize the cilantro it was clumped on the chicken. I wanted to give benefit of doubt and chalked the discoloration up to..."maybe the steam in the container wilted the herbs on the way home " so I grabbed a bowl and began to assemble my soup. First sip, broth was ok...could be a little more flavorful. Next a bite into the chicken. Oh my it was SOUR!! I'm nauseous as I write this. I'd like to be forgiving in tough times like this for restaurants because of COVID 19, but serving bad herbs, bean sprouts and sour chicken can make people VERY SICK and there is no excuse for that.
