The pho is clean tasting and rich. The fried chicken is seasoned well and crispy. The crab rangoons are filled well and not like some places that tend to skimp on the filling. Overall portion sizes are quite fair. My only qualm is they serve the pho in small disposable plastic bowls which hold a significant amount but is annoying to eat from especially considering we're eating in. I recently brought a party of 10 here for a birthday celebration. My daughter requested pho and so I obliged. The original consensus was to go to the more well-known and dependable Superior Pho, but I vetoed and decided that we should try our local Pho & Rice, which is a lot closer to home. Seeing as we were a party of 10 and knowing that they only have a small dining room, I called ahead for courtesy to ask them if they could accommodate our party at 3pm on a Saturday. I figured this would be their least busy time. I was put on hold, then was told no as they do not take reservations. Was a bit put off by this as I at least would've expected them to respond with "I'm sorry, we do not take reservations, but as long as we're not busy we will do our best to accommodate you when you arrive." Their response was nothing of the sort. I was a bit put off by this, but was resolved to try our luck anyway. We arrived at 3pm and there were only 2 diners there. So we put tables together for our party right in the middle of their dining room. I was pleasantly surprised by their budget-friendly pricing. You order at the counter and they bring your food to your table. I raised an eyebrow when they brought our pho in disposable plastic to-go bowls with plastic spoons, along with the bean sprouts, mint, and lime tied in a plastic bag. I looked at the other diners and saw that they had larger real bowls. I doubt that it was a matter of running out of dishes because we were the only ones there, so that was perplexing. Overall, the pho was decent - especially for the price. Not a place that I would tell others is a must try, but decent enough to go back if you're craving pho and it's nearby. read more

I went to this restaurant for the first time I ordered an appetizer of chicken wings and jasmine rice and also received the Curry Ramen and the wings were freezing cold. Food was overall pretty good, we had no complaints. We ordered the steak pho, pad thai, and crab rangoons. The pho was mediocre in our opinion. The pad Thai and crab Rangoons were better. Service was nothing out of the ordinary, someone took our order and served our food but we went up to the front to pay. OK, so we walked in and there was a homeless man's dinner plate on the steps, don't know what that was about. Continue to sit down, and was greeted by a very nice server. One of the most respectful young gentleman I've ever came across. He took our order, and I got the udon noodle soup, which was my first mistake.... Don't get me wrong- it was good. Everything tasted as it should be, the dish was just not what I was expecting. So, I switched to what my girlfriend was getting at the time which was pho with steak. That was much better. The ambiance leaves a lot to be desired as it is very much catered to taking your food to go, but the Pho was quite nice, especially for the price! It was definitely not the best Pho in Cleveland, but probably the best for the price in Cleveland Heights. The meat was good and they provided enough veggies for the soup. A friend of mine stated that we would be having Pho & Rice for dinner. I thought that it was an odd combination but didn't put much into it after that. It wasn't until we were all together that I realized we were getting takeout from somewhere and that Pho & Rice was the name of the restaurant. We came in on a pretty snow heavy day so there weren't many customers inside. The staff was kind, accommodating, and overall had everything ready to go pretty quickly. I had the Vietnamese Sandwich (Bahn-Mi), which they allowed me to sub the pork out with tofu. It was pretty tasty. We ordered a delivery of egg rolls and a noodle dish....both were terrible. I'm not sure why it's so difficult for this place to have consistent food, and this problem has been ongoing. Stopped by pho & rice for a quick lunch with my friend. I ordered the grilled pork rice and he ordered the spicy basil and a drink. My pork was pretty standard - good, but not incredible. They gave a generous portion of meat, which was nice. My friend's dish was a bit bland (not spicy enough). He ordered matcha boba and was disappointed to find that it was a blended smoothie rather than tea. He ended up throwing most of it out. The service was quick and had kind of a fast food feel because the food came out in disposable bowls. Coventry has so many good food options to offer -- I think this is a solid middle-of-the-road spot to stop by for a quick bite. read more

Located in the heart of Coventry is one of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants. Pho & Rice has some of the best pho in the city. On a recent visit I enjoyed the Pho Dac Biet and Fried Gyoza. The flavors were so delicious. We received really good service and our food came out right away. The ambiance is very relaxing which is great for dine in experiences. I constantly dream about the Pho and Rice pad see ew. There is no place I have gone to that compares to those noodles! The Pad Thai on the other hand is nothing to write home about. The noodles are a bit pale, and don't have much sauce on them, so i wouldn't personally choose them. The shop itself is small and a seat yourself kind of place. You just walk up to the counter and order. Overall this small mom and pop shop is very solid for Thai food in the area! read more

The vegan broth is gluten free. It is also within walking distance from home. It's a win win. The pho is a perfect pick me up on cold winter days... and summer evenings. Often times I order one or two pho as well as a container of plain broth. Left over noodles and/or veggies can be added to the spare broth. If you are gluten free just let them know that is why you are ordering the vegan broth... otherwise they might find it odd that you are ordering shrimp or meat with an animal free base. My daughter is partial to the crispy rolls here. She skips ordering them from nearby establishments. I always end up digging in to and finishing my food before remembering to post photos... guess that's a good sign. read more

So I came here and I was craving pho and sticky rice, and I didn't want to drive all the way downtown to my usual spot but after my visit I can say I was very happy with the quality and service. The place could use a little sprucing but the service was great and I know bc I asked talked to them about 6 times for little things and from my understanding they didn't seem to mind but I felt bad, they did great I just wanted extra sauces, to go orders, and adding tripe to my pho lol. The pho bowl was a little to small for me but you can put a lid on it and take it home which is cool, the crab Ragoon was really good and creamy, the fried chicken so good and crispy, the sticky rice was sadly tough:( But my bf is really picky but he really enjoyed it here, even though he wasn't looking forward to it. read more

Got a call as I was driving away to let me know they gave me the wrong roll. I was already driving away. Sometimes things happen. I get home... they did not give basil, sprouts and jalapeños like I expect when ordering pho. I asked for tendon. They gave me tripe. Sone of the meat looked dark brown. The broth was not a good clear broth. The spring roll was a whole salad wrapped around a tiny shrimp and a few noodle. Like two noodles. It was awful. The chicken cabbage salad was ok. If there are other places in the area... I recommend you try them first. read more

We ordered thai noodles from here, plus some Vietnamese drinks. Looks like they are mostly a togo place as it was dead empty when we came by, but the food is very good for a good price. The drunken noodles were a bit spicier than I would have liked (wished they had asked for what spicy level I wanted), but the pad see ew was solid. Drinks were tasty and refreshing, and made fresh as they were still working on those when we arrived. We also got a mango sticky rice which was great as well, the mango was fresh and the rice was still good after several hours. All in all, solid restaurant for Thai noodles, but I believe they also have a bunch of other southeast Asian options on their menu. Parking a bit more difficult, but there's usually at least a spot for quick pick ups. read more

To clarify, Pho & Rice is kind of a misleading restaurant name. You would think it's a full blown Vietnamese restaurant but it's run by Thai people and the menu has Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai, and Japanese dishes so it's really a Southeast Asian restaurant more than anything. They also lack some of the specialty Vietnamese ingredients such as steamed egg loaf and shredded pork skin to make a truly great Vietnamese rice dish. Ambiance: This place seems to cater best to take out orders. The interior is small with only two 4 tops in the center and tables lined against the wall to make a pseudo-counter. It's self-service so you seat, order, and bud yourself. The food is served in to-go containers and disposable utensils even when dining in. Be warned they only have normal spoons instead of the normal deep Asian soup spoons you typically use with Pho. The staff are friendly but they're busy with take out orders during the dinner rush so I'd recommend getting a receipt when you order. They forgot a sticky mango rice with our order and when we put in a separate order for sandwiches to take home, they forgot about us for 30 mins until we reminded them. Food does come out in a reasonable amount of time. Food: We shared a beef carpaccio salad, pho tai, and beef vermicelli and enjoyed it all. Of all of Cleveland, this has the closest flavors to what I've been missing in San Diego. Their broth is flavorful and not watered down or adulterated with unnecessary spices/pepper/etc. They give you plenty of fresh sprouts, basil, jalapeños and the meat to vermicelli ratios are generous although the overall portion size is medium. Their fish sauce is also true to taste and not adapted for the Midwest palate like other places. The mango sticky rice is also flavorful but the rice was a little underdone IMO but my wife liked it just the way it was. We ended up bringing banh mi sandwiches home and thought they were tasty although non-traditional with a lack of pate, sparse do chua pickles, and the addition of lettuce. It was more of banh mi inspired pork sandwich than anything. We did also get a black milk tea and Thai tea but they were a little weak in tea flavor and definitely not as good as what you'd find in AsiaTown. Overall Pho & Rice excels in flavors, it definitely nails the pho broth and fish sauce better than any other place I've had in Cleveland. The dine-in experience definitely stumbles though and their jack-of-all-trades menu also lacks some of the offerings you'd expect in a dedicated single-genre restaurant but this is definitely still a place worth trying. Yay Pho & Rice! Always fulfilling my pho or pork vermicelli bowl craving. They recently had their 7 year anniversary celebration where bowls of pho were only $7 (P1-P6 options) for carry out. With COVID, they're only take out orders and masks are required upon entry. They've cleared out their dining area so it is spacious and clean, if you need to wait for your food. You can usually get your food about 20 minutes after ordering on the phone, so it is super quick. They plan on adding an online ordering option on their website, but the easiest is just to call. You may have to try a few times, if they are busy. You really can't beat their prices - for $10, you get a large bowl of broth + protein(s) and a bagged side of the veggies and noodles to add. I usually am able to save half of the my meal to eat later! Or just finish it in one sitting and take a food coma nap. My favorite is their vermicelli bowl ($11 V/R3 Grilled Pork) which just hits the spot, without weighing you down. You get the fresh veggies, the savory grilled pork, a crunch with the cucumbers and crushed peanuts. I always like to add the fish sauce and a little sriracha and hoisin sauce to add extra seasoning, to my liking. With the vermicelli rice noodles, they soak up all of the delicious sauce and picks up the seasoned meat. Because it is a cold noodle bowl, this is perfect for a hot summer day! My go-to Vietnamese place is still Superior Pho, but the convenience Pho & Rice sometimes just wins out. read more

Call ahead for take out. It might take a while if you come during the after work crowd. I got the chicken pho, it was delicious. I also got the chicken cabbage salad, it was fresh and the dressing tangy. I recommend you ask for the onion crisps on the side if you get take out or else they will be soggy. I came back another day and got the Drunken Noodles. I really liked this dish. I think it's better if you eat it immediately or else the noodles start to smash together into a gelatinous blob...maybe they could cook the noodles a little less? Still yummy. read more

I came here for my Pho craving and this place is conveniently close to where i live! I showed up here around 7 on a weekday and was the only party there. It looks like most people came to pick up their takeout. Overall, it was pretty decent pho. I got the Pho Tai. The meat was pretty good quality, broth was flavorful, and it came with all the fixings (basil leafs, bean sprouts, and jalapeño). I really like pho & rice because it is conveniently located near me on Coventry and their food is great. Both times I got takeout. The first time I ordered, it was for pho. I got the phot tai with beef. The broth was good, could have used a LITTLE more flavor, but adding the spicy sriracha they gave me added the right amount of flavor. What I lovedddd was the noodles! I judge pho places by the texture and consistency of their noodles because I've had some stiff noodles before. Pho & Rice's was soft and held enough of the broth flavor! The only downside was the beef. The texture was rough and it was dry, despite being in a broth. The second time I ordered was today, and I got a beef drunken noodle. I was a little disappointed because (as you can see from the picture) there was way more of everything else but the noodles... and the beef was disappointing once again. The pho, bubble tea, fresh rolls and pad Thai were all spot on. The proportion sizes were large and made to order. They have a nice eat in area with no thrills decor. Nice service, the cabbage salad was good, crispy and fresh. The beef pho my daughter loves. I had noodles with chargrilled pork. The pork pieces are too big for chopsticks. I had they're also a bit fatty and you can't easily bit a piece off. The container of sauce was way way too small. The over all portion of dinner was more like lunch size. Coventry is a strip with lots of yummy places, and if you're finding yourself confused on which to try let me just tell you that pho and rice is a GREAT choice. So far of the pho places i've tried in cleveland, this is by far my favorite. I ordered the beef pho. The noodles had a great cook to them, the meat was flavorful. But honestly what it comes down to was how great the broth was!!! It is clear they put effort into their broth! Friends I was with spoke highly of the stir fried noodles! I didn't try. I was very very pleasantly surprised with this place for the Thai food! I ordered the red curry noodles and a friend ordered the drunken noodles. We're both vegetarian, and we had plenty of choices to choose from on the menu which we appreciated! The noodles itself are notably fresh which makes it all the more tastier! I opted to sub the vermicelli from the order with wide flat noodles. Also, we went on a cold Wednesday night and the place had quite a bit of business, which is always a great sign! My partner and I visited Pho & Rice on a Tuesday night. On entry, we were greeted warmly by a host who instructed us to sit wherever we like. I must admit that I love this format of seating at any sit-down restaurant as it allows me to choose a well-lit seat (or not, if it's a particularly vampiric night). For a starter, we ordered the scallion pancakes. I tend to be pretty picky about these as I've found it's easy to overcook them. These ones were cooked exquisitely. Delightfully crispy, but not bone-crunchingly hard as I've seen them at places that overcompensated by overcooking. For my entree, I had the teri-tofu rice dish. The teriyaki sauce was perfectly sweet, and it was served with a perfectly cooked ball of rice and some steamed vegetables that were delightfully seasoned and perfectly plated. To top things off, the staff were extremely attentive and simultaneously patient when we weren't quite ready to order initially. I will absolutely return to this restaurant, and I'd encourage everyone else to visit. The food was delightful, and the atmosphere was the same. read more

Good parking is almost nonexistent in Coventry so we parked at the nearby Marc's and walked over. Water is served in adorable mason jars. I got the pho dac biet which was mouthwatering. I especially enjoyed the tripe. It came with a lot of bean sprouts but not enough herbs. The portion of the pho was a good size. The biggest gripe with my experience here was that my food took so long to come out. The server never came to check on how we were doing either. Also, I barely had phone service in there for some reason so I asked the waitress for the WiFi password but she said that they don't have WiFi. I saw that there was a WiFi network called "Pho & Rice" so I'm confused. To summarize, I really enjoyed the food but I feel like the service is lacking. read more
