Normally when I get Thai, I get the tom yum soup. I saw that they had it on the menu but with seafood. I was feeling more of a plain soup so I asked for their hot and sour. To my surprise, it was actually tom yum! It definitely hit that craving I've been having for months. Their mango sticky rice was really good as well. One of my favorites. We were in the area (actually for Mikes Bar and Grille) when we found out MB&G was closed for a Christmas party. We wandered down the street and saw another bar and grill which was closing in 15 min for another holiday event. This led us to the sweet mango.... It was immediate seating in a clean, small, and quaint dine in setting. Service was prompt and friendly. The setting was "okay" but not what is expected of a sit down casual restaurant. The immediate impression after sitting down was made when the water was brought out in Rubbermaid drink dispensers with a slice of lemon in each. The menu was quite robust and typical of a Thai/asian dining restaurant. The lunch combinations were typical fare. Unfortunately lime slices were $1 additional! Our table order the Pad Thai (with lime slices extra), Tempura veggies and shrimp, Mango fried rice, Orange chicken lunch box with wonton, Crispy Pad Thai, and Crab Rangoon. The tempura veggies were more like deep fried veggies and shrimp from a sports bar and overcooked. ( I asked for replacement onions and they gladly provided new ones). Crab Rangoon was heavy on the cream cheese, the ratio of filling to wrap was a little too much (great if you like it that way). The pad Thai (add protein for $- chicken) both traditional and crispy were okay/average...LOL the lime was needed (and should really be included) Mango Fried rice was decent , with fresh/ripe Orange Chicken was decent (not battered in usual Thai cuisine), the lunch box came with won ton, veggies ( fresh carrots and broccoli), and a small salad (Thai peanut dressing). All in a bento tray for serving. The Wonton side came with only one dumpling (we ordered another because my daughters split the lunch box. Pricing was fair, serving size was good (we had leftovers to take home). Gave this place a 3 star just because it was average and could use some improvement to the average food. I usually use the tempura as a gauge of what kind of food will be served, and it held up in this case. Average Tempura=average food. Service would be 4 star, very friendly, attentive, and polite. Setting would be 4 star because it was very clean with nice decor (could have been higher except for the water pitchers). We had a very nice dinner at Sweet Mango. The location is on the triangle in Berea next to Cornerstone Brewing. The dining room is small (seating for maybe 30 people) but cozy. They offer hot teas, coffees, beer, and wine. The menu is pretty standard Thai fare and something for everyone. While we dined in we noticed many people stopping to pick up orders, so it looks like they do quite a bit of carry out business. Our dishes came out in a reasonable amount of time for how packed the dining room was, and the ingredients seemed to be very fresh. It was no problem to make modifications based on our preferences. Our server, whose name I didn't catch, was very pleasant and knowledgeable about the menu. I always appreciate when the staff can answer questions and make recommendations. SO disappointed with the box lunch I ordered to go. 1) Why is a soup included for dine-in but not if you order to-go? This should be clarified on the menu. 2) WHY is the SALAD in the same container as my hot entree? Been here quite a few times over the years. A small, quaint Thai restaurant on the Triangle in Berea. The decor is kinda plain compared to other Thai spots in the area, but it's serviceable. The food is where this place stands out. Ordered the Pad Thai this evening, and thought the serving size was a wee bit on the small side, but when I finished it, I was sufficiently full. Ordered mine with chicken and shrimp and it was very tasty. They also serve bubble tea here as well! Occasion: dinner with husband and service dog I really love this place but also I'm mad at them for not being in St Louis. We were greeted warmly and seated at a table that was optimal for us. Then they dropped off a plastic carafe of lemon water; at that point, I had a good feeling about the place. Ordered the mango rolls as an appetizer, the massaman curry with tofu for dinner, and the dessert that was both sticky rice and thai custard (I forgot the name) The mango rolls were delicious - they were like a spring roll with mango instead of shrimp. 6 of them and a delicious brown sauce that was kind of like hoisin but also had peanut in it. Massaman curry was fantastic! The tofu was well cooked, there was pineapple and nuts in it, and lots of delicious sauce drenching it all. I asked the waiter how to eat it and he said most people dump their rice in the bowl so I did too. I got brown rice but am sure it's also good with white. Sometimes when I like something, I like to race my stomach so I can eat more of it before I feel full. Never a good idea but in some cases I can't help myself - this curry was one of these cases. I could not shovel it in fast enough; my husband nearly pulled back a stump at one point lol. Like most Americans, I have a dessert stomach so even though I had pained myself with the curry I still needed to order it. They had a thai custard and sticky rice combo - the custard was like none that I'd had before. Kind of the consistency of overcooked flan but not overcooked. Just get some and figure it out for yourself because it's worth it and so are you. I'm writing this the day after our visit and we have already attacked the leftovers. Would I return: yes, I'd be happy if it were in STL so I could go more often Would I recommend: yes Service Dog Grade: A+. I must first tell you that I live in Michigan. My son lives in the Cleveland area. It is a non-negotiable in our family that each and every time I go to see him, we must eat at LEAST once from Sweet Mangoes in Berea. Basically, if you are within an hour drive of Berea and you DON'T go to Sweet Mangoes, I promise you will spend entirely too much of your life with almost debilitating FOMO, and deservedly so, because you have indeed Missed Out. The BEST American Thai food I have ever eaten, and I cannot overstate enough how much American Thai food I have eaten all over the country. I know it's totally different from what I would get in Thailand, and frankly it's so good, I don't care. First the Appetizers. I am a Crab Rangoon Addict. I have zero shame about this. I have tried every restaurant in my area for Crab Rangoon and have not, in 11 years since I found Sweet Mangoes, found a comparable Rangoon. Not even in the same orbit. Sweet Mangoes Crab Rangoon are little pockets of delectable crabby/cream cheese fluff that absolutely melt in your mouth. Save yourself the trouble. Order at least 2. And if you're with a group, I have found it's safest to just order one per person. It will save you lots of long-lasting family/friend disputes over who got more. Thank me later. Also, make SURE you get the Shrimp Summer Rolls (the peanut sauce....it is so hard not to lick the little bowl it comes in when it's gone), and the Steamed Pot Stickers. Don't worry if you can't eat it all in one sitting! Leftovers are phenomenal! I have ordered the Crispy Pad Thai each and every time I have been there since 2012. When you find perfection, don't bother with anything else. My friends and family, who I have forced to dine with me (some, fairly unwillingly at first, but all exceptionally grateful by the end) have, over the years, tried pretty much almost everything on the menu. I have never heard anything less than "My GAWD this is delicious!" Everything is ALWAYS fresh and cooked perfectly. I have never had mushy broccoli. If I'm dining in, I also get the Mango Bubble Tea. Best slushie with big, black chewable ball things you occasionally choke on you will ever have. The folks who work there are always phenomenal! They are efficient and effective and honest to god just generally really nice people! They have more staff now than they did for many years, but they somehow find the absolute sweetest people to work there! If you are still reading, I hope that you aren't also driving to Berea for Sweet Mangoes. Put your phone down and just get there already! Safety first! read more

REALLY ENJOYED IT see that I'm doing headlines now. Like an AP story ha. I love the location & had been here twice. I wasn't doing the pho or curry thing back then & now u know I'm all about it. So they do the noodle soups all day u just have to see that lunch menu. Chicken noodle soup w rice noodle and sliced chicken, to me that's pho and it was great. Everybody's presentation is a little different, I loved the wonton crisps in my soup. Perfect noodles, good broth. Big bowl a chicken. The giant bowl it's hilarious but I don't feel fat, fatter than usual anyway. I even found an easy parking spot. Normally when u miss it by that much the guy behind u takes it. So I grew up going here and hadn't been in awhile and I was craving curry and tha iced tea. Walked in and it wasn't busy, It was like two other tables in there and the vibe hadn't changed, it was peaceful in there. Got my Thai iced tea and loved it. Some people mess up Thai tea easily. The curry was really good broth, I was able to add corn too. But the meat chicken was a little dry and the veggies were undercooked. But i don't mind a little crunchy. I would still order Thai curry from here over and over. I also ordered summer rolls and I got egg rolls instead:)) and I told my waiter and he didn't do anything about it so I still ate them bc I realized he was never coming back. Not even to ask us how the food was lol but he was a little nervous from the beginning.. not sure why? He could've been new. Order was quite simple all I added was corn to my curry. But anyways, my boyfriend ordered mango fried rice with chicken and he wanted shrimp too but it only comes with one protein. So the waiter said they could give him a side of shrimp.. that little sauce dish you see in my picture was three pieces of cocktail shrimp but not as big loll and still got charged more. I've been visiting Sweet Mango Berea frequently over the last couple of months and I can't think of much if anything to complain about. The staff is always very helpful, kind and vigilant. They seem to draw a big crowd, yet manage it well. I've never felt that I waited too long to have my order taken or get my food, even during a rush. Now onto the food: I don't really ever get any of the entrees, but I love several of the appetisers. The potstickers are to DIE for. The ginger soy sauce it comes with is amazing and I love to dunk the potstickers in it or even dump it inside once I've taken a bite. I also love the Siam rolls. They seem to me like crispy fried vegetables, and as someone who doesn't eat very healthfully this dish is a great way to eat my greens. Not to mention the sweet n' sour sauce it comes with. MMMM soo good. They also have bubble tea, which is this icey drink with tapioca bubbles in it. Depending on what mood I'm in, I really like the Honeydew bubble tea! It's very delicious, but sometimes I don't like the icey bits in it. I tried the orange chicken when my sister ordered it and it was very good! I love to go here either by myself for dine in or with a friend. Either way I always have fun eating the delicious food and drinking the water than comes in a clear big bottle. Sometimes when I'm dining alone I can finish the entire bottle by myself, and when you get to the end of the bottle it has a lemony flavour because of the lemon slice inside, which is a cool reward!! I imagine that this would be a great place for a first date; reasonably priced with excellent food and service. The only thing I haven't gotten to try are the wings. I think that they can't really make them; my friend Vaughn who I used to work with at BW said that they were having trouble getting the kind of chicken wings they needed due to supply shortages, so I can hardly blame them. Working in food service myself I understand that the supply shortages are real and I'm sure if they did have the wings when I went they would have tasted great like all the other food I've had from Sweet Mango. 10/10 I need an excuse to get back here soon!!! read more

Wanted to love this place after it being recommended by two friends. Service was quick and the to-go order took only about 15 minutes to make two appetizers and two entrees. I got the pad Thai and the noodles were extremely chewy, definitely needed a couple more minutes to cook, there was not enough sauce so it was almost like I was eating plain noodles with no flavor/spice, and the tofu was chewy and bland. It is in a very good location. The staff were very attentive (refill water) and curteous. We had pot stickers for appetizer. This was my mothers first experience with Thai. The menu is plentiful. The Pad Thai was really tasty! The rest of my party loved their food also! The Thai desserts are different but tasty. You didn't feel like ugh when you finished the dessert. Our server was great, nice personality and very knowledgeable about the food, that's always a plus. The reason I gave it a 4 and not a 5, was the comfort of the seating area. I've been going here for over 4 years now and have gotten both my mom and my bf hooked! I always get the Pad Thai, no shrimp, with Mango Bubble Tea. I occasionally spoil myself with Potstickers. The Pad Thai portion is enough for me to eat for 2-3 days, and I prefer it as a cold leftover!! It tastes better, but I noticed reheating created a wet dog smell that was unappealing for me.
