Nice sit down Thai restaurant. Pretty large dining room but there were always some seats available, even though it was fairly busy on a Tuesday night. Two page menu gave plenty of options, but it wasn't overkill like many Chinese food menus. Red curry w/ jasmine rice I ordered the Pineapple fried rice, which was delicious, w/ chicken veggies & curry & a zero spice level. Others tried: Vegetable stir fry w/ white Jasmine rice on side (spice level 1) & Yellow curry veggie (delish) with rice on side (spice level 2), & Red Curry veggie w/ rice (level 3/5). It was nice you can pick level of spice on any dish. The level 2&3 was too much for me, 1 woulda been perfect. Servers were very polite & very much on it. We sat over 2 hrs & they refilled drinks the whole time. I cannot say enough about this place. I've been driving by this location for years and telling myself that I would stop in today I finally did. I took the recommendation of our server on dish and chose a nice spicy curry and was not disappointed. While it was not as spicy as I would have hoped, he told me how to order it hotter the next time. The flavor combinations and the depth of flavor was so amazing. Are crab Rangoon has outdone every other crab Rangoon I've ever had. At this point, I could name other places where I thought their crab Rangoon was amazing... And at this point they no longer even hold a candle. A nice hearty crab chunks mixed in with the cream cheese sauce and filling, and it's just to die for. The dessert of the sticky rice with mango was sweet and thick and filling and just rich beyond description. The lighting is soft and easy in the eyes, the colors on the walls are pleasant and pink and oranges and brown purples, sounds a pleasant to listen to everybody cooking in the music, while faster and hip-hop was not distracting. I quite enjoyed listening to it, listening to Thailand versions of American hits. It was quite an enjoyable experience all around. We look forward to coming back. read more

All I can say is wow! We started off with the Gyoza which were perfectly crispy and light to start off with. Then moved onto the noodles and fried rice and finally finished off with the custard sticky rice. Absolutely everything was phenomenal. We were already planning to return before we even finished our food. Service was good and friendly, water refilled quickly. The ambiance is great because that place is popping! They are full quite regularly from what I can tell so be aware you may need to wait just a little bit. Parking is tight so be aware of nearby lots or side streets especially if there on a weekend. Obsessed! So happy to have such a strong Thai option not too far from my parents home. We went on a Saturday right at 5:20pm and the place was half full. By 6pm, every table was sat. Service was quick and the food didn't take too long. We tried two appetizers and two entrees in addition to a Thai iced tea. Can't wait to go back and try more. My friend who lives in the area says that there is usually never a wait here, but, our oversight--we forgot it was Valentine's Day so they didn't take walk-ins for a while due to many tables being reserved. We opted to take out instead but the online order told us it would be ready in 85 minutes... I wish we were given an estimated time prior to ordering, but I believe if we asked earlier it probably would have been ready. Either way, our food was delicious! Maybe one of the best or the best Thai restaurants in Greater Cleveland? My friend and I split an order of chicken pad Thai and chicken Massaman curry for lunch. Both dishes were utterly delicious. We ordered the dishes with a spice level of 2, which provided just a bit of a kick. The pad Thai and curry were both a perfect mix of salty, sweet, sour, and creamy. I was pleasantly surprised with the creaminess of the pad Thai. I'm used to pad Thai being drier at other places, but Raan Thai's noodles had a delectable sticky thickness to the sauce. The chicken in both dishes was tender. The lunch portion sizes were sizeable. I just wish the curry came with a bit more steamed rice. I wanted more rice to soak up that creamy, flavorful curry! The service was also great. Our server was friendly and made sure to keep our glasses of water filled. Note about paying with a card - it does come with a 3% fee. Cash is preferred. read more

This was my first time coming here AND 2nd time trying Thai food and it was the best experience ever!!! The workers here are incredibly sweet and helped us so much with what to pick and drink!! Nestled in a corner on a busy street, Raan Thai can be easy too miss... but you'll regret it!! We started with a fresh salad - the Papaya salad, it actually had some spice in it but still super refreshing!!!! For dinner we tried the Panang Curry - which was a coconut curry flavor.... SOOOO GOOD if you want some spice in your dinner, it was almost similar to Indian food. The second dish we tried was Chicken Rama - this was stir fried chicken in their Thai peanut sauce, and let me tell you I was a little scared to try to peanut sauce, but it was very mild and very delicious!! I couldn't even pick a favorite dish, both flavors were awesome! And while we were eating I noticed people drinking some fun drinks - boba tea!!!!!!!!! Finally I had to chance to try it - I had no idea what to try so I asked the server give me her favorite - she was nervous but ended up doing it and I got a honeydew tea with strawberry boba..... IT WAS SO GOOD!!!! And it was so big, I got to take some home and finish it!! I really enjoyed my dinner here and it's always nice supporting local businesses, especially when they are so sweet! Ordered Pad thai, chicken mushroom soup , cachew nut .. food was great and music was cozy

This has normally been one of my favorite local Thai spots, so this experience was really disappointing. On Friday evening, I arrived alone around 8:30 PM (30 minutes before closing) and was turned away for in-house dining, even though the restaurant was still full and actively serving guests. I was told I could order takeout, but no additional seating was being accepted. What was confusing is that if the kitchen was still open for takeout, it seemed reasonable to accommodate a single diner--especially since I mentioned I would be quick. Being offered takeout without a place to sit and eat it didn't make much sense in the moment. I completely understand that restaurants may stop seating before closing, but 30 minutes felt quite early, particularly on a busy Friday night. A clearly posted "last seating" time OR removal of the 'wait here to be seated sign' where I waited for at least a few minutes before being acknowledged, would help set expectations and avoid situations like this. I left feeling rushed out, embarrassed and disappointed. As someone who enjoys supporting local businesses, I hope this is something they'll reconsider moving forward or clearly post. *In transparency I arrived by 8:30 and waited by the sign to be seated and by the time I was acknowledged, had discourse and exited the establishment it was 8:37, whereas I could have been served. But I appreciate that the issue would be addressed and I like the food. read more

Came her a while back, with a group of work colleagues as a holiday gathering. Our large table was greeted warmly and our server was patient and helpful as several folks were new to this style of cuisine. We all ordered a different boba, then we had several appetizers to share around the table and finally everyone ordered their main dishes. I went with my go-to, the Pad Thai (medium) with chicken. It was bursting with flavor and had just the right amount of heat / kick for my palette. Everyone seemed to really enjoy the unique flavors of the dishes and the portion sizes were just about right. This place is bomb. The portions are literally huge so it is worth the money. We had the green curry with pork and the pad Thai with pork and both were bomb. The curry portion was so big I ate it for 3 meals. The restaurant was busy but everyone was friendly and we were acknowledged by multiple staff members very quickly while waiting for a to go order. Ordered Thai Basil Chicken. I received nothing but fried rice with a scant amount of chicken and basil. I literally couldn't taste even a hint of basil. We stumbled across this Thai place by accident and it truly is a hole in wall kind of gem! It's located near the Cle airport, on a very not happening street, but the food is sooooo good. We normally go to Banana Blossom since we leave near OC but might have to start making longer trips to over here! The appetizer portions are very generous (see pics) and every single dish we ordered hit (papaya salad, Tom yum soup, and hot Thai chili wings). Papaya salad was fresh and crunchy, Tom yum soup was piping hot with very succulent shrimp, & wings were the perfect lightly breaded crisp. We actually enjoyed our apps more than the entree (pad Thai) but between the two of us we even had leftovers of that dish so they really don't skimp on portions! + I highly recommend the tofu - not dried out like some places, good chew with tender interior. Wonderful experience here. We forgot to make a reservation and we had 5 people, but they were able to accommodate us within 15 minutes. They even offered to move us to a larger table when one opened up. In addition, the service was fantastic. If anything, our waitress was a bit delayed in checking on us, but only because they were SLAMMED. And for a good reason -- the food was delicious. Everyone at my table enjoyed their food. Went to Raan Thai a few weeks ago with my usual Wednesday lunch group. We ALL were so impressed. The service was perfect as the servers were attentive and very kind. We started with Japanese gyoza and chicken crispy spring rolls. Delicious and super hot. The accompanying sauces were perfect. The rest of our meals came and we were even more satisfied. I had the chefs special Rad Nar with shrimp, it cam come with chicken, beef, seafood, or a combination of protein too. It was very very hot temperature wise and super delicious. My friends had Pad Thai, Raan Fried rice, and Bangkok Pepper Garlic. Everybody loved their food and we even shared with each other to try the different flavors. It was so good we went back again this week. Remember the spice level can be zero to 9 or 10. Most of us opted for 0 or 1 and we were so pleased. Ordered papaya salad, satay, Penang curry. General flavor was mediocre. No seasoning on satay & peanut sauce tastes like watery peanut butter. Satay was shaped like kebabs not satay! Papaya salad bland and sweet with soggy papaya (if it is even papaya, not sure). Very few carrots 3 grape tomatoes halves which were green. Penang curry had no flavor, CANNED GREEN BEANS, shaved chicken and overcooked carrots. The worst Thai restaurant in Cleveland! Never again! Becoming a fast local favorite! Raan Thai is family run local restaurant bursting with flavor and a fresh sushi bar. You can opt to eat in or order take out...we have fine both quite a few times. The staff is pleasant, the sushi is great, you can get a great variety of hand rolls, sashimi or chef creations. The appetizers are great, soup, deep fried corn cakes or tofu, veggies or spring rolls, sometimes we just order appetizers and it is more than enough. My husband is particularly fond of the chicken Thai style basil, pick your heat level yo your liking with a side of rice or noodles. I love the pad see eww, tofu or shrimp, the sauce is sweet and the side rice noodles are delicious. You get tons of veggies...one can never say they leave there hungry. Overview: This was my first time at Raan Thai and everything was absolutely delicious. The ambiance was great and I enjoyed that it was a more modern take on the classic Thai theme. Service was fantastic from both the host and our waitress. Food/Drink: Thai Iced Tea- Classic, cold, and very sweet, but I didn't mind. Coconut Soup with Chicken- Also known at most Thai places as Tom kha kai the flavor was deep and it had the perfect ratio of sweet (from coconut milk) and lime (from lime leaves and juice,) it was the best rendition of the soup that I've ever had. Corn Cake- Nice and crispy without tasting oily, it had a subtle sweetness and paired extremely well with the more acidic garlic cucumber sauce it was paired with. Thai Wings-Nice and peppery, if you're adverse to pepper I would not recommend, but they were cooked very well and still juicy. Vegetable Tempura- Cooked perfectly and included a variety of vegetables. I appreciate that it wasn't oily! Masaman Curry- I'm going to be dreaming about this curry until I have it again. There's a depth of flavor and sweetness that I can't believe is humanly possible. The potatoes and carrots are a hearty addition and having it rice is by far the best way to eat it. Cleanliness: Everything was spotless including dishes, cuttlery, and the bathroom was very well taken care of. They also had a super cool sink and mirror, which added to the ambiance. Accessibility: There is a main sidewalk that is easily accessable to people in wheelchairs. There is also a little sidewalk that goes around a flower bed, that I do not think would be accessible to people in wheelchairs. There are no steps up to the restaurant that would require any sort of lift or ramp. There are plenty of seating options and the tables attached to booths move so if you're a larger-bodied individual you should be fine. There are also tables only with chairs. The bathroom was small, but would be manageable for somebody in a wheelchair. Service is very good and servers are super friendly. We ordered 3 meals and one appetizer for the three of us. The krab Rangoon was very good. We ordered Pad Thai and 2 Thai stir fry dishes. Every one of our meals included over-cooked dry and rather tasteless chicken or beef. The veggies in each of our meals were excellent and the sauces were good. I would recommend eating a vegetarian dish if you eat here. It has a nice Asian feel and the restrooms are very nice. read more

Ran Thai is awesome. Since it has come to the FP we have have made it our go to Thai spot. That said. Yesterday we ordered take out. When I got home before opening the bag my phone rang. It was Tony at Raan Thai. He asked if we had all of the order. I checked and what he asked was missing. He apologized and asked if they could be delivered or if I could come back and pick it up. He threw a complimentary bubble tea for the trouble. That was great service. Mistakes happen and they made it right! read more
