We ordered the rare beef noodle soup, a dish with spicy fish, and a clay pot brisket dish. Rare beef noodle soup: (3/5) This dish came with sliced rare beef, onions, bean sprouts, noodles, veggies, and a few other things. The soup was kind of bland and the beef portions were kind of small. The noodles were also average. Spicy fish dish: (5/5) It was indeed spicy and the fish and vegetables were delicious. The fish was tender and had a nice texture unlike some other restaurants that just heat things up in a bag. Brisket clay pot: (5/5) The brisket was super tender and tasty. The vegetables and radish that came with it also had a nice flavor. I know few restaurants that can make this dish as good as this one. Service: (4/5) Our server came to refill water frequently and checked in on us. Ambiance: (3/5) It was nice and quiet since we came close to closing time. One of the employees was eating in the back. Always so good. Used to come here with my parents when I was young, it's my turn to take my wife and kids here. Kids were VERY HAPPY with the mango shake and bubble tea they got. All the food is exactly as I remember, great quality and freshly made. Pad Thai was amazing, such good flavors and texture, just very fresh! I recommend everything we ate, of course very safe. I try coming here as much as I can. The food is so good and cooked to order fresh. For my two girls and I , we ordered the seafood soup with tofu and veggies (regular size), an order of stuffed crab claws, and sliced chicken with snow peapods. So after getting stuck in Cleveland on Thanksgiving -- we had no choice but to find a restaurant that was open and would serve us a good meal. Chinese Turkey it was. The place had more like us, people just trying to either not cook or just not near family and it was a pretty full place. We ordered the Peking Duck, Tender Beef, and Pineapple fried rice along with some hot oolong tea. The service was great and it was nice to enjoy our tea while it snowed outside. The Duck was awesome, soft and tender Bao buns wrapped the tender, gamey duck with its skin, some sauce and green onions. Delightful. The tender beef was just that! I ordered take out from here the day after Christmas. The space is huge and it was packed. I took this as a good sign. My order was ready on time and the cashier was very kind. My food was hot when I arrived home. Green beans were amazing and well flavored. Lo mein noodles were not the kind of noodle I was expecting but very saucey. Flavor was bland. This place is great! This was my first time stopping in as we were in the area attending the Asian festival and I was so glad as we got to try a variety of different dishes at this restaurant. The place itself is SUPER clean and everyone was very friendly. They were able to accommodate a ton of people as they were very busy with the asian festival yet handeled it with ease and friendliness which I really appreciate. The best thing we tried was the Tender Pepper Steak that was on the chef specialty menu. It was so flavorful and the peppers, onions, and mushrooms were awesome. The hot chili peppers gave great flavor without overbearing heat which was really great. The meat in this dish was incredible and seasoned to perfection. it was definitely the favorite of the meats we tried. The beef lo mien also had great flavor, I just personally am not a huge lo mien fan but my sister really enjoyed this dish and the portions are generous. The pad thai was good and it had chicken and shrimp in it and was a generous portion, however it was much sweeter than pad thai i have had in the past. I would say to not go for the pad thai if you do not like a sweeter sauce. I would probably not order this again from the menu and stick to one of the stir frys or noodle/rice dishes. The appetizers were also very nice and light. I wish the summer rolls had more in them as they were mainly filled with rice noodles but the sauce they came with made up for anything lacking in them. For sure stop in and give this place a go! Siam Cafe never disappoints even when it's to-go! Live about 10 min away and got ubereats and it came hot and fresh. Been ordering from Siam Cafe for a while now, and my go to favorites are 1) Silken Egg Tofu with Diced Seafood in XO Sauce and 2) Hot Basil Ground Chicken. The Silken Egg Tofu is as close as you can get in Cleveland to a super soft tofu with a textured outside that melts in your mouth, balanced with the umami-rich XO sauce. The seafood is also generously portioned. The Hot Basil Ground Chicken is just the right amount of spicy and savory, with that amazing kick of Thai basil. It's perfect for those who can't handle much spice. Chicken is minced small so that it's perfectly seasoned, and it pairs well with rice that comes with it. It's flavorful without being overpowering. Siam Cafe has a slightly sketchy exterior which is a pretty solid indicator that the food will be delicious, and it lived up to my expectations. I got a HUGE portion of pan fried noodles that will last me at least 3 meals for only $14. My friend got the beef short ribs with black pepper sauce and it came out on a hot plate, still sizzling. All 3 of us enjoyed our food immensely. The menu is definitely super authentic (though there are some Americanized Chinese dishes like orange chicken as well, if that's your vibe) and all the staff members speak Chinese if you're a Chinese speaker yourself. The staff is very welcoming and accommodating to a large group. Sometimes they can be short staffed but overall great service. While the exterior and interior may deter some, it's clean and reminds me of other typical Chinese restaurants. We always see families and community gatherings here. On our first visit, we ordered yu choy (cross between Chinese broccoli and spinach), ma po tofu, chicken/salted fish fried rice, shrimp wonton with noodles and beef chow fun. ----- On our second visit (two days later), we ordered a chicken/salted fish/eggplant clay pot, sautéed deep fried tofu with snowless/shiitake/carrots, and sweet n sour pork ribs. Tea and white rice are free when requested. Prices are less expensive than the San Francisco Bay Area (gasp!) and taste is definitely comparable. We will definitely return if in the area. read more

A blogger I follow on Instagram posted some photos of the food at Siam, which led me to cure my hunger last night. There's basically nothing in sight around this place, but a hidden gem it is. Parking lot full. We were seated very quickly, and our order was taken promptly. Dishes: Vietnamese spring rolls - crispy, tasty, but nothing special. The sweet like clear rice vinegar dipping liquid was super yummy, just sweet tart enough, and much better than your average duck sauce. Seafood Curry - Squash, peppers, shrimp (good sized), mussels, scallops, eggplant, mushrooms, in a spicy Thai curry. $21. Not too spicy, good flavor, happy with the size of the shrimp. Comes with white rice. Peking Duck - While I half expected to actually see a half of a duck, this was already broken down and bao'd up for you with a smidge (could've used a lot more) of sauce and green onion. Crispy skin, and some tender duck pieces, some not. $22 String Bean in Garlic Sauce - Plateful of beans, with a healthy amount of garlic sauce coating. Was not disappointed with this dish. Flavor on point. I could eat this as a snack anytime. :) $10 We also had a couple glasses of wine and two Singhas. Bill came to $97. My first time checking this restaurant out , heard good things from friends and let me tell you they did not disappoint! I dined in, the female hostess was extremely friendly and helpful. Everything is clean inside with disposable tablecloths and partitions between booths. I tried the stuffed chicken wings they we so tasty fried perfectly! Then the pad Thai which is enough food for two meals, It was very fresh. They have lobster, fish and crab tanks in the back so incredibly fresh seafood which I love. After 3 decades, Siam Cafe remains one of my absolute favorites. We always order the braised tofu with mushrooms, some type of greens in garlic sauce (snow pea leaves are our first choice when in season) , beef chow fun. Their Peking duck is spectacular. Other standouts include the Pla Rad Pik (fish with tamarind sauce), beef short rib with black pepper sauce, crab or lobster with ginger and scallion. My husband and I dine at Siam regularly. We both live and work not that far away, so we dine for lunch and dinner. Just last night we went with three other couples and had a fabulous time. There is an ample parking lot that wraps around the building. When you enter, you are greeted by at least two or with such warm and friendly smiles! I love that they have several large round tables that have turntables in the center. There are often people celebrating birthdays and other occasions. It gives it a really nice uplifting atmosphere. The service is always very attentive, prompt and friendly! Their dining room is often full, so call for reservations during busy evenings. I can usually walk in with a coworker for lunch for two but I usually call ahead to check. The food always tastes fresh and delicious. Admittedly, I don't eat a lot of their menu items. I am allergic to fish and shellfish and don't eat pork or beef. I eat mostly vegetarian dishes, but will eat some chicken dishes. And I cannot eat dishes with spicy heat. But there are so many options for me I am very pleased. Last night we went back to our favorites. Mai tai for me. Beer for hubby. Vietnamese egg rolls for the table. My husband can eat anything and does. He devoured assorted vegetables and seafood. I enjoyed sweet and sour chicken. Everyone at the table ordered something different and spun their plates on the turntable and shared! They have a variety of desserts. We took key lime pie home. Usually we eat tiramisu there. This is one of the more authentic restaurants in Cleveland for Chinese food. The on choy with fermented tofu paste was fairly flavored, stir fry been chow fun was good.
