Phnom Penh is one our favorites. We ordered take out on this occasion and once again everything was very good. Ordering on the phone is easy. They only ask for your first name and phone. We were told the order would be ready in 15 minutes. I arrived about 15 minutes later, payed my bill and my food was ready. The dining room is very much no frills and the restaurant itself is located in a very small strip mall. Parking is located in back. Be very careful on the one way drive leading to parking. There are a couple a televisions to watch while you are eating. The staff is always friendly and helpful. There is an abundance of choices on the menu. We choose the MiBompoong, Pad Thai and Asian Basil Fried rice. The fried rice was a perfect spice level for me at medium. It added flavor without too much heat. The MiBompoong is loaded with vegetables and covered in a delicious sauce. The Pad Thai was very good as well. read more

The service was great - we were met by a very kind lady who seated us and was our server throughout the meal. She had a sweet demeanor and I enjoyed being her customer. I ordered the Pad Thai with shrimp - medium heat. I didn't find it to be very spicy and in hindsight would go for the hot next time. Though, I have been actively building my spice tolerance for the past 6 months so maybe it's just that. The food was very flavorful. The shrimp was not overly-fishy, and had a great texture. I will note as well the pickled onions on top were outstanding, I had one small piece and it was bursting with flavor. The pickling method is locked down, and I was delighted. The meal was great and I loved experiencing the flavors. My boyfriend wished the portions were perhaps more substantial (or that he had received more meat instead of vegetable), and also noted it was a bit expensive for what it is. The interior of this place is very pretty. I enjoyed the paintings and the music was certainly unique. Seemed like a mixture of traditional music with electronic elements - I really liked it though. Overall, I enjoyed it here, and if I'm in the area again would return. But I would probably come back more often if the price was a little cheaper or food had larger portions. read more

I remembered this place being really good, but upon a recent visit, I unfortunately now have to lower my rating. The older woman who works there was pleasant. However, the place still smells very strongly of oil. I would not dine-in. I question if the smell is because the oil is not changed out often enough? As for the food, my noodle dish was good, however, the rolls appetizer was a disappointment as in the taste wasn't worth it and some rolls had expired vegetables inside of them. The coconut soup had a sour flavor to it that I did not care for. Lastly, the menu on their website has very outdated prices so you will be in for a shock when you come in to pay. read more

Found this place when I searched for noodles while in the area, and what a pleasant surprise! I have never had Cambodian food before and am not familiar with anything on the menu, so we ordered blindly based on their descriptors. The crepe was soooo crispy and flavorful! Enough to share for 2 ppl but I recommend getting one each because it's so yummy. We had the Bahn Soung and the Kuy Teav Chha Kreung Tek Trey Phoem and they were both delicious! The bahn soung has thick noodles almost like udon and was super tangy and creamy (w coconut milk), and the beef was very tender. The Kuy Teav Chha had thin vermicelli noodles and was savory with a kick of spice. Enjoyed both. Will be back to explore more of the menu that this place has to offer! read more

Just had lunch at Phnom Penh beware the portions are small. It feels like they are pinching pennies here. I wanted pho soup but they don't make that. I settled on the spicy beef, Almost no beef or noodles they should call it just broth. Bill was almost $40.00 and I only had water to drink. The best food I've ever had. Try the Chha Kreoung Marass Prawt, with vermicelli, no heat, and combination. 'Combination' is three meats. If you get it with any heat it destroys the aftertaste which is nuanced, and amazing. The other menu items are also very good. read more

I popped in recently for the first time in way too long, and was not surprised that the food remains at a high quality. My favorite starters are the fish cakes and the nating (ground pork in a coconut milk sauce served with crispy rice squares). For entrees, I love the vegetable soup or the Chha Kroeung Ma Rass Prowt (your choice of protein). To drink, their fruit juices and smoothies are excellent. As a bonus, the owners are some of the nicest people you could hope to meet. read more

I went to Phnom Penh with my son a couple weeks ago. I had bookmarked it in Yelp and had been meaning to try it literally for years, but I couldn't "sell" it on anyone. Most were concerned that the were unfamiliar with the cuisine and were not in the "mood" to try it. Enter my son. Gotta love the kid. He'll try anything at least once. On this particular evening, his brother (my younger son) want able to join us, so I took advantage of the opportunity to suggest Phnom Penh. Of course, he was up for it!! When we walked in, I have to say that my excitement turned to concern, as the dining room was completely empty. It was close to 6:00, and while I wouldn't expect the "dinner crowd" until closer to 7:00, I thought there'd be at least a couple tables going. Before I could suggest that we come back another time to my son (never to return) we were greeted by the most pleasant hostess and down to our table. We we're stuck now! After we were served or beverages, we were given a few moments to have a look at the menu. It started out easy enough, spring rolls, egg rolls, Wonton soup, noodle soup, but once you get deeper in there, there are some pretty unfamiliar dishes. I ordered the Taprom, a sweet and sour flavor Cambodian dish served with fresh mushrooms, onions, scallions, napa and red or green pepper in a light sauce of lemon grass, tamarind with your choice of vegetables, or protein(s). It was delicious! Not the must adventurous dish I could've chosen, but I wanted to ease my way into Cambodia. The restaurant is very clean, and the service was perfect. They have a really good carry-out business too, which judging from the numbers of patrons that I saw come and go during my meal, must be what most people do during the week. Phnom Penh can easily hit 5-stars; I've only been there once and had a single dish, so 4-stars will have to do for now. But let me tell ya, this place serves up some really good Cambodian-style cuisine. read more

Cambodian Review What is Cambodian Viet? This gnawing curiosity is exactly what steered me towards this cozy restaurant while traveling to Cleveland Airport (only 15min away!) and I am SO HAPPY I did! Would describe the food as a mixture of Thai, Indian, and Viet flavors and it was ridiculously flavorful and reasonably priced. The menu is a tad overwhelming since all the names are probably unrecognizable but our waitress was more than happy to explain our questions in depth and add recommendations. I went with her noodle dish recommendation (vermicelli dish under the Cambodian specials section) and would describe the dish as a hot (temperature wise) version of Viet vermicelli with curry flavors and noodles that were somehow stiffer (but still tasted fantastic)! Sooo pleasantly surprised because I LOVE stir fried, piping hot dishes and was not expecting this dish to even be warm -- on the contrary, the food managed to stay hot even as I touched bottom of bowl. Not a more perfect winter meal. We also ordered the creamy ice green tea (requested less sweet) which had an odd aftertaste so I can't recommend, and the mini spring rolls (they are TINY and adorable and very crispy) as well as chicken skewers (also has some coconut curry flavors coming through). If you're wondering what Cambodian food is like, don't hesitate any further! Give this place a shot especially if you generally like spicy, flavorful South Asian dishes. Just passing through.... As others have said, portion sizes are ridiculously small compared to any viet place I've ever visited for Pho. Prices are reasonable but not for what you get. Service is slow considering the place is empty on a wed lunchtime. The bi cuon rolls are pretty pathetic. French coffee ok but sooooo small. The pho broth was tasty but the bowl is too damn small! My fiancé and I went here last week. I was really craving pad Thai and this was the closest restaurant that had it, so we decided to try it! I ordered the pad Thai and he ordered Bunn Ga Xao. The food came very quickly and the server was very kind. I was a bit hesitant at first because I've never had red pad Thai, but it was delicious! He went out of his comfort zone and tried something new and it was also very good. At the time, we were only in there with one other couple. The atmosphere was nice and it was very clean. The meals are very affordable & you don't get too much. I enjoyed this because I didn't eat until I felt sick (which is what usually happens when we go out, because we're talking and eating and don't realize how much we've had). But overall, it was very good and we were very impressed. My only "complaint" is that the driveway to get in is almost hidden and it's only small enough for one car at a time. So if you're leaving and someone from the road decides to enter, there is a good chance of colliding. I know this isn't the restaurant's fault, just a side note I wanted to add. read more

You can order any dish with meats/shrimp or vegetarian the way I like it. The sauce in my dish had a sweet, ginger taste but more complex. You can ask for more or less spice. Mine was perfect with less spice. The vegetables were perfectly cooked to a nice crunch. My dish was served with a side of white rice. I had a vegetable spring roll. It was nice and crunchy. Nothing was your typical, greasy Asian food with that common msg taste. This food has a delicious, unique taste. I also shared a vegetable fried rice. It was very good. I read the reviews and knew I wanted to spend one of my few evenings in town here. Tried the mini spring rolls and the stuffed chicken wing... and the seafood Bayon. The mini spring rolls were crispy and flavorful, the stuffed chicken wing was excellent and the Bayon was delicious. The Bayon curry flavor was similar to Thai green curry but with something "extra" ... cleaned my plate before I even thought to take a picture! The food was great! Very few places still make their extra spicy well, extra spicy. Quality was great but they lose a star because their portions are smaller than competition and prices are higher.
