Surprised that this place has such good reviews. Went there once with my family. First, the guy taking orders is so rude and dismissive. Second, the pho broth does not have depth and is overly sweet (way too much rock sugar). Third, the banh mi was hard as a rock and had minimal fillings. Who knows? This place is a bit hard to find, but it is in a building that also has the grocery store. So you won't see a sign for it on the outside, but you'll find it once you go in the building. I am neither satisfied or dissatisfied. Good things include: Location, cleanliness, service, generous topping amounts. It it just didn't really hit the spot for me. There was nothing bad about anything. Well... I guess the banh mi sandwich left me lacking. There was really not much filling in it. Great bread though! Plus my summer rolls did not come with enough peanut sauce. It is worth a try if you are tired of going to the same Vietnamese restaurant over and over. FULL MARKS for the absolute adventure and level of surprise Pho Lee's delivers. What am I talking about? Well, take yourself over and find out. Pho Lee's is located in an indoor mall whose star has certainly fallen; it is in decline. The place is dark. It literally looks like a hurricane hit and the backup generator lights are on - except - this is the actual lighting for this entire mall and the restaurant. We stepped into the restaurant, behind a heavy glass door, and seated ourselves. After a few minutes a kind gent gave us menus, took our order, and not long after our pho dac biet arrived. And then BAM. AMAZEMENT. The pho is DELICIOUS! Such flavorful beefy flavor, completely balanced. Noodles had just the right amount of chewiness and body, meat portions were sensible, and herbs were fresh. Chef's kiss. After a profoundly muggy day in Cleveland, nothing replenishes salt and electrolytes better than an extremely lit bowl of beef pho. Thank you Pho Lee's - you guys rule. From the unimposing waitstaff, to the sweet little girl holding the door open for customers leaving, to whoever was playing Minecraft on the TV facing into the dining area - Thank you all. Really impressed with Pho Lee. First off, they're not located in Asia Plaza, which I learned by mistake and 30 minutes later after placing our order, piecing together from menus on Yelp and Google maps. It was pretty funny as I called the place twice and the owner said he'd meet me in the plaza- it's the other Asia Plaza which name eludes me at the moment. Toll_? Onto the food was really impressive - fresh flavor and ingredients. Agreed on the Ban Mei sandwich is the best I've had - love the bagette. The meat is sparse, but they give you what's specified on the menu which other locations that serve this sandwich don't - pate, pork, ham and the Vietnamese toppings. Ask for a fried egg on top to take it to the next level! They questioned me on this initially then "Oh! You mean a sammie". It was awesome and for $7 SFG! The Pho is excellent and add extra meatballs for $3. The BBQ beef ribs over vermicelli with an egg roll--this is the only place in Chinatown that serves this (I've hit all of the spots) and so, so good! Slow service and no water brought to table but this was forgiven by the generous portion of pho in a wonderfully savory broth with plenty of the accoutrements brought for our table of 3. I would have liked more tripe and tendon, I don't know why restaurants always skimp on the cheapest cuts. As a take out the pho comes with the broth separate so you don't have ruined noodles when you get home. I had to put it in my largest bowl to fit everything. I also ordered the fried egg rolls. they were crispy and did not taste like old frozen egg rolls. The dipping sauce was very sweet, a nice compliment to the savoriness of the rolls. Tough review for me to write but i'll do my best. Food? 5 stars. Hands down some of the best pho i've ever had. It was wonderful. Aromatic, full of flavor. Fresh. Service? 4 stars. Good, attentive service. Lose one star..for...too much facial touching including the forbidden zone.. Cannot have a server sitting in dining room doing that. Cleanliness? 2 stars. Place just wasn't clean. If the employees are sitting on their phones, give them a rag and let them clean and at least making it look good. Also, maybe something wrong with the building they're in (it's like a mall) because as you walked through the building you got a clear waft of bad plumbing.. Definitely did not promote a sense of hygiene. Nice people trying their best to serve their customers. Some small changes would really help. Would i go back? If this was a food only question it would be a resounding yes. But in totality...it's a tough one. read more

A solid 4.5 for Pho Lee. Well worth the visit, time and a little bit of effort to find the spot in a bit of a Asian shopping mall maze. We tried fresh shrimp spring rolls, their signature beef short ribs and shrimp and vermicelli dish, grilled pork and rice and a vegetarian vermicelli plate. Fried Vietnamese eggrolls were served with all of our entrées. Five stars for the spring and fried Vietnamese rolls. Fresh, and both with appropriate sauces. The peanut sauce for the spring rolls was exceptional. Vermicelli was really fresh, as was the salad in the bowl. But the shrimp and beef short ribs were a disappointment. The shrimp were small, and a bit rubbery. The short ribs had a bit too much gristle and the meat was hard to remove from the rib bone. In contrast the grilled pork was quite moist, and flaked off the bone. another particular stand out was the Vietnamese coffee. Although not made at the table, the coffee was very very good. Service was incredible. A person who we assumed was the owner constantly checked back with us. I think he was the main chef too. All in all, a great spot, and we will definitely return when we are in Cleveland. read more

You guys.... This place is yum yum delish! I had the Pho Tai Chin and ordered a bang mi with char sui and pork bologna to go. The pho was excellent! So much beef, and lots of noodles. The add-ins were abundant: TONS of Thai basil, jalapeños, sprouts, lime... with Sriracha, soy and a thickened, sweeter soy sauce in a squeeze bottle. I doctored up my bowl of fragrant broth with all the good stuff! After eating all the beef and noodles, the leftover broth was pungent, savory and definitely slurp-worthy. My sinuses had been really bothering me this week, but this bowl of awesomeness helped clear that up... and for just under $10! I brought the $6 bahn mi home for dinner. It was HUGE! Lots of fillings, but, they didn't cover the full-length of baguette... which led to a couple of dry & bready bites. Still, a great sandwich overall, especially for less than the price of many Subway sandwiches, lol! The ambiance is a bit drab, but the food and price are excellent! Highly recommend! read more

Posted on the walls are framed reviews from Scene about Pho Lee being a welcome addition to the Asia Town Center, and I couldn't agree more. The interior is very welcoming with nice decor, and I can see people wandering in before or after shopping at the Center. Service was friendly, and our Pho was super fresh with lots of greens and basil, a must for me. The rice noodles still had plenty of texture, another big factor in how I (inexpertly) judge pho. I think this is my new go to spot in the neighborhood. We also ordered the crispy pork eggrolls and while they were tasty, they do have a nice spicy kick from the pepper in the filling, so keep that in mind if you are sensitive. If you are having trouble finding it from the posted business address, keep in mind the entrance to the Town Center is on the side street, not St.Claire. read more

Members of our OCA Cleveland Dragon Dance Team fueled up on Pho and other Vietnamese Food at the new Pho Lee at Asian Town Center - it is the 3rd pho iteration and management at this location. Good food although it is best to double check orders for any special requests. My Beef Pho with everything was good - generous portions of the veggie accompaniments (photo of basil, mint, sprouts, lime, jalapeno is for two Pho orders). Korean beef ribs were ok, Im told - but if i'm at a VN place, I prefer VN food... Vegetarian eggroll bun is flavorful. The large Banh Mi sandwiches had tasty and generous pork and pate. Owner recommended fresh sweet corn milk (not on menu) which I tried (ok), and someone else got the fresh sugar cane juice (yum). Glad that there is another good restaurant open at this AsiaTown CLE anchor mall! read more

TL, DR: Best banh mi in Cleveland. 1. I ordered a sandwich and they asked if I wanted it toasted - check. 2. I finished the sandwich covered in bread crumbs - check. 3. Gums were a little raw from eating the banh mi - check. 4. I was digging out sharp bread crumbs stuck between my teeth to prevent my gums from getting cut any further - check. 5. Good amount of pate - check. (I don't think any other place that sells banh mi in Cleveland has pate available.) $6. This was the price. Moreover, the banh mi was over a foot long, compared to the $5 "half"/mini banh mi or gentrified $13.50 banh mi sold elsewhere. Value - check. 7. They had fresh chopped chilis available if you wanted more than just jalapeno slices on the banh mi. Spice - check. I would've posted a picture, but unfortunately the sandwich was quickly devoured before I had a chance to take a photo. Service was very friendly and responsive, and I plan to be back very soon! Open for pick-up during coronavirus! Menu pretty much the same but without bahn mi for now. Their hot pho is exactly what I need to get me through these late april flurries. Noodles and ingredients come separate from the soup so everything stays crisp, very considerate. Fast, easy parking. Clean, not crowded. The summer rolls are great too. Ehhh... It was just okay. First, the service, I came with my family of four. No one greeted us at the door, instead the staff stood in the back and looked at us oddly. The least they could have done was motion us to sit anywhere we'd like. The server, who was a teenager, was unexperienced and unknowledable about the menu and spilled water all over the table. We moved to another table. She forgot to replace the spilled water cup despite asking two times. It was also an unpleasant environment, the owners three children were running around, yelling, and it echoed throughout the establishment. Now onto the food, coming from a Vietnamese background, I have eaten authentic Vietnamese cuisine and the food was just okay. I ordered the bun bo hue and like another review mentioned, it was missing key ingredients like pork blood cubes. Also, there was no spice to the broth. My family ordered the pho dac biet and had no complaints on it. Another member ordered the vermicelli noodles and said the meat inside the rolls were spoiled, and ended up picking all of them out of her dish. The fish sauce was odd, lacking flavor and weirdly salty. I do not think I'll be coming back, and if I do I would just stick with the pho. read more

I only tried the bun bo hue but it was delicious. It didn't have the blood but the flavor is perfect. Not too spicy. Not too big. We were very lucky to stumble upon it while in the area for a quick visit. If we ever head back to the Cleveland area, definitely will come back. read more

OH MAH BAH-JEE-BEES! I am Vietnamese. I have lived here for a few years. I have not liked any pho I've tasted in the past 3.5 years. UNTIL TODAY. I'm writing during the COVID shelter-in-place. Being at home all day has allowed me to spend more than a healthy amount of time on Facebook, and with that comes all the photos of Vietnamese food as I'm subscribed to 4-5 Vietnamese cooking groups. So, my craving for Viet food has spiked exponentially. I have been hesitant to order as the pho I've had in the past has been excrutiatingly sub-par & disappointing, not to mention adding the 20-30 minute delay of a food delivery. But I couldn't handle it anymore and I caved, so I figured I would try this place out. I am so glad I did. The pho broth was so flavorful and had the nuances of all the 50 gazillion ingredients that go into PROPER pho broth. I usually put enough hoisin sauce into my broth to turn it into a dark maroon color, but I held back this time. This is currently my favorite Pho place in Cleveland! It is located inside of Asian Town Center and there is a parking lot available as well. I typically order the Pho Dac Biet. The portion sizes are pretty generous and the broth is pretty flavorful. I have also ordered in the past the fried egg rolls and spring rolls which were great and very filling. Overall, the menu has a great selection and gave me the most authentic Vietnamese restaurant feel compared to other places in Cleveland I have visited. read more

Saw the grand opening sign so we decided to stop in for some pho & bun bo hue. The server was Caucasian so she looked confused & shocked when I asked if they had pork blood in their bun no hue which usually comes with authentic Vietnamese bun bo hue, but they didn't have it. The bowl was also very small. The broth was mediocre. I was very disappointed. My hubby had the super bowl pho & it didn't come with much meat or tripe that a dac biet super bowl should come with. We came from CA & Dallas so we've been looking/waiting for some good Viet pho shop, but still left unsatisfied. Suggestions for the owner: please add soy bean milk & young coconut drink to the menu. Please have an option to add blood to your bun bo hue & make the bowl bigger even if u have to increase the price, and please add some tripe & more meat to your super bowl or change the name to large bowl. read more
