This is our go to spot while in Cleveland. The staff is great and the food is delicious. The food comes out so quickly and it is amazing. The spring rolls are crispy and glorious. The soups are all amazing. The banh mi is small but with fantastic tastes. We got a banh mi to go for our drive home and my only regret is getting one to share instead of getting two. Don't come here if you're looking for an upscale dining experience but definitely come here for a delicious and affordable meal.

would never order here again. I ordered a lot of goi cuon, saying no pork, add chili sauce (tương ớt). they added no chili sauce, but added pepper sate, charged additional $9.21 but no calling me. how can you eat goi cuon with pepper sate?

We have dined in at the restaurant several times and always found the service to be good. There is not much ambience, but the room is clean and the rest rooms were clean as well. I am not extremely familiar with Vietnamese food, but I know the pho(soup) was tasty and the wontons and noodles were plentiful. The dishes with vegetables were tasty as well. The vegetables were fresh and crispy. Not sure what the dipping sauce was, but it was tasty as well.

Good service good food. This place offers more than just pho. The menu is quite expansive. While I did have the pho to satisfy a craving. The lotus root salad was quite the surprise. Way better than what I was expecting. The shrimp was cooked just right and the pork was flavorful but complemented the lotus root nicely. The dressing is light and refreshing. The spicy lemongrass soup was very flavorful and just spicy enough to meld all the flavors together. Great soup, loved everything about it. I only wish it was served with more noodles. A lot of broth and not enough noodles.

Number One Pho ocated in Cleveland's old Chinatown right by LJ Shanghai. Superior Pho is family owned and remains a Vietnamese staple in Ohio.its been here for decades and continues to deliver great food. The Pho broth is the best you can get in the entire state, it's flavorful and rich. I usually get the Seafood Pho and it's amazing on a wintery cold day. They do have some authentic Vietnamese dishes you might not see at other places like Banh Xeo It's a light crispy crepe stuffed with meat of your choice generally pork and shrimp Severed or enjoyed with fresh cucumbers basil and dipped in Nuoc Maam ( dipping sauce made of fish sauce some palm sugar and has some sweet, spicy and tangy taste) They do have some Standard dishes like Banh mi and fried rice options if that's what you prefer Service is fast and quick Ambience is old fashion place nothing fancy so please do not expect fine dining service here . If you are kind you cares about service over food please skip and do not go around bashing them in reviews They have been doing a fantastic job at food so go enjoy the food and say hi to the grandpa at the front desk who is always kind and smiling Definitely worth trying if you are around that area

Just left this restaurant, first visit here and disappointed that I didn't walk out the first time I found a piece of hair in my bun Bo hue. Of course the server apologized but it was off to a bad start already. I decided to let them remake my bowl only because the broth was fairly decent and I was really hungry. I didn't finish my bowl so I put the rest in a to go container and as I close it up and chewing my last bite I can feel a strand of hair on my tongue so I pull it off and there it was a strand of black hair with blonde on the tip. Now I have leftover bun Bo hue I have to trash because that's just gross, and I can't help but think there's more hair swimming in there but it's hard to tell in a bowl of broth! The other thing that should have alerted me to leave were the massive flies that kept buzzing about and the fact that the restaurant was pretty empty at 2 hours til close on a Saturday! Received a few funny looks that I just brushed off, it begin to feel awkward sitting there and I eat at Asian restaurants regularly. The service wasn't the best. I was immediately given a fork but no chopsticks or spoon, I had to ask for those utensils which is wild considering this is a pho restaurant! I won't be back, I only stopped in because superior pho, where I always dine at, is closed until the July 9th. Forgot to take a pic of the bun bo hue so I'll just post my receipt so people know it's a legit review.

Added the appropriate level of hoisin and siracha.

This was my third time eating at No. 1 Pho and my sixth time overall enjoying their delicious Vietnamese soup. I'm a huge Pho fan and this is the ABSOLUTE best in Cleveland. I've had the beef, the meatball, and the chicken. On my lastest visit on June 30, 2024, I ordered the chicken Pho along with two crispy springrolls. First, the springrolls were nothing special. They were exactly what I expected. The Pho, as always, was the star of the show and was very enjoyable. While the service is a bit awkward, not uncommon at some of the Asian restaurants due to a number of factors, it was quick and we were in and out within 20-25 minutes. Some Pho restaurants use substandard chicken. I can't even adequately describe what I've run into at other places. At one, it's almost like a rubbery chicken version of an oyster cracker. At others, the chicken is chewy or overcooked. At No. 1 Pho, the chicken chunks are real. They're delicious and perfectly cooked. If you're looking for great Pho, the name doesn't lie. No. 1 Pho is the best.

Went here on a double date to grab some pho on a nice summer day. My partner and I split the pho with beef brisket (my favorite cut for pho) and the pork Banh mi. I started with the pho, and after adding a touch of lime and hoisin sauce, I was so happy to be eating such a yummy dish. It's not too heavy and the noodles and meat were juicy and delicious. However, my favorite was the Banh mi. The pork was moist, the pickled radish was the perfect balance of sweet and tart, and the bread was SO good. I literally kept raving about the bread to my friends at the table. If I could buy a basket of just the bread, I would have. The place itself is just simple and clean. There seems to be good street parking. Service was quick and fine. Overall, would definitely come back, especially for the Banh mi. Like other reviews have said, I'm quite surprised at the lower rating since I thought it was pretty great!

On a cold and windy (1C temperature) Saturday evening (with light snow) in late March 2022, after a productive afternoon preparing for an interview at a tea/coffee shop, my friend Christina and I decided to head to dinner at Number 1 Pho restaurant. As a side note, one of my best friends from my University days is Vietnamese so I was eager to have some Pho again. FOOD -- This is a Vietnamese restaurant with a vast selection of dishes to choose from on the menu. They have the traditional Pho soup with beef and Banh Mi sandwich with pork. If meat isn't your thing, they have vegetarian options too such rice and vegetables. I ordered the Pho Tai ($13) which is labeled as P1 on the menu. It is the traditional Pho that comes with bean sprouts, basil leaves, and jalapeño peppers. All those ingredients came on the side along with lettuce. The soup itself came with green onions and beef. I asked for my beef to be well done (cooked) because sometimes, the beef at other restaurants isn't cooked all the way through. I thought it tasted fine because it lacked flavour. I used hot sauce as I ate to enhance the flavour. My friend ordered the Bun Bo Hue ($15) which is labeled as H5 on the menu. It isn't pho but just a regular soup that is spicy. I tasted some and preferred her meal than mine because hers was a little spicy. It came with beef as well and green onions. SIDES -- We also ordered the spring rolls ($6) which is an appetizer. It came with 2 rolls that had shrimp and some other meat inside that looked like chicken or pork. The BBQ sauce on the side was okay. It tasted a bit too sweet. They couldn't split the spring rolls amongst the 2 of us so I just paid for it. Overall, I think this is an average restaurant. Service/hospitality was great and it was clean inside. Prices were cost effective even though $13 for a bowl of pho seems steep. It appears all prices have gone up since the COVID-19 pandemic though; however, this restaurant has very fair prices. I recommend supporting this local business. I don't know if I'll be back because the the Pho tasted just okay. If I do visit again, I'll have to try another menu item that has more spice and flavour. **** - 30/150 total reviews in 2022 - 508 total overall Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 27 March 2022

Food is average Vietnamese. Not many choices in Cleveland. Summer rolls were very good. Vietnamese egg roll plate and seafood pho were very good. Service was very quick!! Ambiance is very middle of the road. Nothing special at all.

Got the classic pho and banh mi and gotta say they do a good job. The soup is like amazing and doesn't need any additions. The banh mi wasn't anything to rave about but it was solid 4/5. My main beef is always the soup as that's like the foundation of the whole dish and I think they hit that out of the park. Sadly that's where it ends I wish they had more noodles in their pho. Felt like I needed more. Their meats in their pho also limited. Beef sliced too thick and almost no tripe or tendon in the all meats combo. That said, still solid location. I'd rate it 3.5 /5 total but u can't do half stars in yelp so I'm more inclined to lean towards the 4 stars

I had a craving for pho while visiting friends in Cleveland and decided to turn to Yelp for some local options. I originally picked another pho placed, but once I got there it was really sketchy and seemed closed so I settled on Number One Pho that wasn't too much further away. Honestly, it was fine. I got my pho fix but this place is not the best pho joint ever. I think I may have just missed the cue to avoid dining in at pho restaurants because they are located in a mostly deserted part of town with barred up windows so didn't give me the safest feeling. When I arrived, it seemed almost completely empty and I had to ask if dinning in was allowed. They said yes, and took me to the back where at least there was another couple eating. I ordered the summer rolls and rare steak and brisket pho (#2). The summer rolls quickly came out it was just okay. There's no real flavor to the shrimp and there were one or two slices of pork in the rolls that had no real taste or flavor either. At least it was served with sauce to make it edible. The pho itself was okay, again not the best nor worst. It came out hot and the meats tasted good with the hot sauces and chili oil. I think the cleanliness of the restaurant itself also leads me to a lower review. Tables weren't completely wiped down between customers (or at least that is how it appeared). Maybe I came on a bad day, it was random Tuesday so who knows but I wouldn't recommend Number One Pho for dine-in. This spot seems to be a better take out joint for just the pho based on my dining experience.

She joined us a couple days prior to her wedding to romp around Cleveland and our group of 5 checked out Superior Pho. Delightful. Prompt and friendly service--our server mistakenly put in a 4th bun bo hue soup when we'd only ordered 3, but we brought it to our AirBnB--and excellent food. We ordered 2 bonus bahn mis, per our freind's recommendation, to share table-wide too. Great food. The Bun Bo Hue is mildly spicy for my fellow medium spice tolerant folks. Everything was awesome. I like the table set up with the siracha, hoisin, and utensils all right there like the pho spots I'm use to. I got their goi cuon, pho dac viet, and a boba. Goi cuon came out pretty fast. Nicely wrapped and came with a peanut dipping sauce. The roll was good, I would've liked the peanut sauce to have been a bit more peanuty, and thicker. Sauce was a bit on the runnier side. My personal preference. Pho dac biet soup seems to be the same for all the pho spots in Cleveland that I've tried. It'll satisfy my craving but doesn't seem to be rich. The meat portions were generous for a small. Got their premium oolong milk tea. Didn't taste premium to me. I like you can adjust the sweetness level and ice level. Wish they had just plain regular boba/tapioca balls. Only had them in brown Suger syrup. Definitely enjoyed this spot more than some of the other pho spots. Will come back to try their other dishes too.

Just like I remembered, it wasn't very busy when I walked in. This place mostly seems to do takeout orders, though in my opinion, the restaurant has a pretty nice and classy ambiance. The grape leaf rolls were smaller than I expected, but they were delicious. I liked the lemongrass in the minced beef, and I appreciated the rice noodle salad with veggies. It came with a cup of fish sauce, which I doused the noodles and veggies with. The vermicelli bowl was excellent and filling. It came with plenty of noodles, veggies like bean sprouts & cucumbers & carrots & daikon, chopped peanuts, 2 shrimp, a good portion of charbroiled pork, a chopped up pork spring roll, and a cup of fish sauce on the side. I especially loved the pork. It was flavorful and juicy. And the fried bananas were just as scrumptious as I remembered. Hot, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, sweet. The green tea ice cream was just OK (too icy for me), but the fried bananas were delicious. The service was a tad slow, but I wasn't in a rush, so I didn't mind. The staff was friendly.
