What I truly cannot comprehend is all of these five star reviews. Seriously. I am not trying to be condescending, but perhaps most of these folks giving such a high rating really have not had authentic Vietnamese food, not this pan Asian stuff. I am detailed here for work for 2 yrs from Manhattan Beach, CA, where finding different AUTHENTIC ethnic foods is always just a short drive away. Like real Mexican food, NOT Tex Mex, delicious food from Persia, India, Japan Vietnam, etc. I can tell you that this Pan Asian food is not the flavorful, fragrant Vietnamese food that I am accustomed to. The service left a lot to be desired , too. I was very, very underwhelmed. I was just desperately craving some good Vietnamese food but boy are there slim pickings in this region. My son clearly ordered curry- and received Panda Express style beef & broccoli. Not even a hint of curry. I was just too wiped out from the day to even argue the issue or tell them they brought us the wrong stuff, plus the guy taking our order seem to be in very short supply as we had already waited a long time for the food to be brought out. I know there is a better place in Longview so the next time I will just make that 45 minute trek to get it right. I will never return to this place, not ever. So disappointing. Drinks and the spring rolls was amazing. Main course was not all what it was cracked up to be. The meat in the pho had lots of fat on it. To top it off gratuity is already added when you check out. I want to be able to hand the The waitress her tip to make sure she gets it. Not have it added for them to keep it and only give her like $5 of what was taken out at the time I paid. So I called in an order, for beef curry and shrimp spring roll. The dude kept repeating back a letter and a number, idk what that is so I kept repeating back that I want beef curry. So I get there and get my food and get all the way home and needless to say it was not curry. Who did not care, had a not my problem attitude about it all and told me it's not his fault because he read me back a letter and a number, admitted to not knowing his menu (which to him meant that he can't do his job properly it means that it's my fault) arguing that it was even on the menu and then found it. BEST VIETNAMESE FOOD IN TOWN. I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS PLACE. The staff is friendly and helpful, wanting to get to know their regulars well. Food is AMAZING. I have not had a bad meal here yet. Top three for me include Pho (duh), shaking beef, and broken rice with pork plate. It is a delight to the taste buds to eat here. They also have pretty awesome boba too! They recently went under new management but the quality of the food has remained excellent and the flavors have gone from delicious to delicious. Ordered the Mongolian beef plate and for some reason the meat tasted rotten. Called server over and told her we did not want the plate after all because it tasted like it was rotten. She took plate to the cook in the back which was not pleased to have a dish returned. After that. She came back to my table and insisted the meat was fresh. I told her I did not want the dish at all and was not gonna eat it. And she looks at me and says. Well we already made it. As if we had no choice but to eat the darn thing and pay for it too. Um. NO. I am originally from Atlanta, Georgia and there is a lot of asian food around. I honestly wasn't expecting too much, but I was in town and craving pho so I decided to give it a try. The restaurant seems very clean to me and because it was not very busy, I got to choose where I wanted to sit. The first thing I noticed was that the hoisin and siracha sauce lids were both clean, which is not always the case a pho restaurants. I ordered the summer rolls with no "chicken ham" and a medium bowl of p7 (brisket and round steak pho). The food came out very quickly and it was a good size for the prices. The only things I was a little surprised by was the lack of basil in the rolls and that the noodles in the pho were cut in half. All in all, tasted great and I will be coming back whenever I am in town! read more

Their lemon tea is to die for! Im from out of town but just the lemon tea itself would be worth the drive! I ordered the sesame chicken and unfortunately it wasn't that great. I love sesame chicken and have tried it from various places and the one from this place is mediocre compared to the rest. I had to dip my chicken in sriracha sauce just so I could eat the chicken. However, I'm giving 4 stars because my sister got the Pho and it was really good. It was her time trying Pho and she really enjoyed it. That and the amazing lemon tea warrants 4 stars. I love coming here with my mom! We both love Asian food and it's so authentic here. Our favorite is the pork potstickers!! Every time we get a new dish to try something new and we love it! If there were zero stars I would do zero! The menu is all wrong. The guy tells me the menu is wrong regarding the type of noodles when I'm ordering. I figure everything else is right. Nope. Whole different dish came. No veggies and egg and peanuts were in there! This was supposed to be a vegetable pad Thai dish. When I told him, reluctantly he redid it after I had to WRITE down what was on the menu that I wanted. Never came back to our table, no refills, nothing. When I go to pay....he wants to charge me half of the dish that THEY messed up!!!! Plus the full price of the correct dish!!! WTH??? I didn't even eat ANY of the 1st dish! If you have a wrong menu, don't use the menu or have a note that corrects your menu to make it right. Instead they'd rather blame the customer and treat them like crap. Finally got the chance to come here and eat. We eat pho every time we are in the Metroplex so I'm glad we have a place in Tyler to enjoy it. Overall, it was very decent - I had the hot and spicy which I enjoyed, and my wife had the flank and meatball. Neither would be at the top of our list for good pho, but, like I said, good to have it here. If you come in hungry, get extra noodles. read more

I'm updating my review after the second visit. This time, I tried one of their rice dishes and although it tasted good, my main critiques are: 1) they didn't have any knives! If you're going to serve pork chops, you need to provide people knives to cut up the meat. There was not a single knife in the restaurant. 2) you get very little fish sauce (came out in a tiny bowl) 3) the plate they used should be bigger to accommodate the food on it. There's not a lot of room and you risk pushing food off your plate. Overall, the food was good. The wait was a little long for a typical Vietnamese restaurant. Asked the difference between pad Thai and lo mein, and was told the difference was the color. Menu was no help either, as all descriptions were identical. We went to Pho Hot for the first time tonight. I was soooo hopeful that this would be a great Pho restaurant. When we were seated our table was sticky and had not been wiped clean for us. :( The interior looked nice otherwise and I thought it was decorated really cute. I ordered steamed chicken dumplings. Omg...they were so gross. Soggy and lacked flavor...tasted like they came out of a frozen bag from the grocery store. I only ate one...even my husband could not choke down my leftovers. I ordered chicken with broccoli thinking that would be a good choice. It was just not good. The chicken had an off flavor almost like it was a bit freezer burnt or something. Many pieces of my broccoli were barely warm and the other part of the plate was scalding hot. I lost my appetite when I found a piece of fat on my plate. Needless to say I was quite disappointed in my experience tonight. The best pho place I have ever eaten at was in Frisco, Texas and I will continue to eat there when I visit.
