Only a few minor tidbits, their water is served from tap and they're social distancing practices (for those of you concerned about that kind of thing) could use some work. They overcharged us. For five people with four bowl of pho , one lo mein , water and they automatically add tip. We also ordered spring Rolls that never came. Supposedly they took it off. Our ticket was $117. I am Vietnamese and I've eaten pho my whole life. They didn't give you herbs only bean sprouts, one wedge of lemon for what they charged us. We should've gotten herbs more vegetables more meat. I understand. I have a business that the cause of food is rising so profit margins are smaller . The customer service was very poor. The broth was good overall. It's not a terrible place to eat but this would not be my first choice for pho here in Tyler. Really nice presentation. I ordered a Thai iced coffee which extra strong and added more milk and water to make 3 drinks. We ordered the steamed pot stickers but they were cold when they came out. The staff took them back and promptly replaced them with new hot boiled ones. Not home made though. I ordered the pad Thai no nuts and they substituted chicken for beef. I then added half a cup of sriracha for the perfect heat and the dish was awesome. Wife ordered the pho beef medium that is the size of a child's wading pool. This is way more flavorful that fresh or changmai. By far the best for 50 miles easy. I will be back for the fried rice. The noise from the kitchen was loud and echoed. I have been coming here off and on for a year to get Bobba drinks and spring rolls. They have very little on the menu for vegan/vegetarians so this is all we could get even if we want more. Normally everything goes well but the last time I went in asked for order of vegetable spring rolls and ended up with shrimp spring rolls. I went out to car and took a bite and quickly notice the problem and brought it right back in. I told the woman that this is shrimp roll and I need a tofu roll. She opened it up and basically said, oh no you took bite, It is yours. I told her it was dark in the car I couldn't see the shrimp and that I can not eat shrimp. She said because of covid she can't take it back. Which is very disturbing because once food goes across the counter the restaurant's are not supposed to reuse the food EVER, not just during covid this is standard health code. This response makes me think if I had not bitten it she would have wrapped it back up and given it out. I again tried to explain how I can not eat this, that I wanted the vegetable spring roll with tofu. Thankfully I am not allergic to shrimp but I know many people are. She just shoke her head no as if to show that I would not be getting any tofu rolls or a refund. So I told her, I do not want it, you keep it. And walked out the door. I will no longer go here. I could get Bobba drinks many places in Tyler, I specificly came here to support local. And before this she was very nice. Good customer services is easy when things run smoothly but eventually something goes wrong. Really disappointing as a first time visit, it's almost comical at this point. We first ordered a honeydew boba and iced coffee... the coffee came with so much ice it took 5 sips, it must have been less than half full. We never got our honeydew boba, the server gave it to the table next to us and when he realized it, he took it back after they sipped it so we said we wanted mango flavor instead.... Finally got it after a (manager?) lady looked at our ticket and got it for us towards the end of the meal. My husband took a sip and joked it tasted EXACTLY like Sunny D... COME TO FIND OUT, when we walked up to pay, THEY HAD SUNNY D and a gallon of milk SITTING ON THE COUNTER!! I was surprised to get cilantro vice basil with the bean sprouts and jalapeños - I am guessing it is hard to get in this part of the world. Hey man from out of town craving vermicelli. Not greeted at the door. Stood there for five minutes before I had to ask if I just seated myself. Diet Coke was served in a canned. No ice no cup. Vietnamese egg rolls were so greasy that they left a pool of grease on my plates. Vermicelli was cut in pieces so that you could not eat it with chopsticks, and it was hot. On a hot day like today I was really looking forward to some chilled vermicelli noodles. So disappointing craving not satisfied. Will never eat here again. read more

Having moved recently, we hoped to find a location with Vietnamese - particularly Pho - which might be reasonably close to that of our favorite place in our previous city. We both had pho - mine with both beef and meatballs, my wife had the beef. We also ordered the lettuce wrap appetizer. All three items were great! I see some other reviews, and realize that one visit doesn't tell the whole story, but the menu selections and the taste of what we had reminds us of our previous favorite. I came here often but after today's experience, I will never go back to Pho Hot. Rudest encounter I've ever had in a restaurant. I always order a large pho with eye round steak to go. They are very inconsistent with flavor but I always ate it regardless. However, today I got pho to go, got home, began putting my soup together when I find a black thing floating in the broth I just spooned out...it was a bug. I immediately call and the man on the phone said to come and they will replace it for me. They told me to take a photo for proof, so I did. I drove back and kindly explain to the older woman at the register (I think the owner/manager) that I called earlier for a new bowl because I found a bug in my soup. She refused to look at the picture I took or my receipt. Instead she became ballistic and began to scream at me in front of the long line of people waiting to pay. She pulled out a binder saying nonsense and pointed to a sign that said she had "the right to refuse service." She yelled at me saying I ordered 5 hours ago which was not true. The receipt was time stamped from one hour ago. I told her I spoke with a man on the phone who said to come back and she said he left and basically called me a liar. So crazy! They make the customer feel like it's their fault. I just walked out with no new bowl of pho and no refund. I will NEVER be back. Their pho here is pretty damn great. I got the P1 which is the combination pho and it's really really good. I go to Dallas for pho pretty regularly and this definitely can stand with the restaurants in Dallas. Their vermicelli bowls are pretty great as well, love the way they char their grilled pork. Viet coffee...A-1. It's not too super sweet but just right, and the coffee is pretty great, it isn't super bitter either which is great. Definitely a must try! read more

I've had pho and bun in Austin and Houston and this is at least as good if not better. The grilled pork was perfectly charred and all the ingredients were really fresh and flavorful. What I truly cannot comprehend is all of these five star reviews. Seriously. I am not trying to be condescending, but perhaps most of these folks giving such a high rating really have not had authentic Vietnamese food, not this pan Asian stuff. I am detailed here for work for 2 yrs from Manhattan Beach, CA, where finding different AUTHENTIC ethnic foods is always just a short drive away. Like real Mexican food, NOT Tex Mex, delicious food from Persia, India, Japan Vietnam, etc. I can tell you that this Pan Asian food is not the flavorful, fragrant Vietnamese food that I am accustomed to. The service left a lot to be desired , too. I was very, very underwhelmed. I was just desperately craving some good Vietnamese food but boy are there slim pickings in this region. My son clearly ordered curry- and received Panda Express style beef & broccoli. Not even a hint of curry. I was just too wiped out from the day to even argue the issue or tell them they brought us the wrong stuff, plus the guy taking our order seem to be in very short supply as we had already waited a long time for the food to be brought out. I know there is a better place in Longview so the next time I will just make that 45 minute trek to get it right. I will never return to this place, not ever. So disappointing.
