Hole in the wall place that you can't even see from the street!, but what a great gem tucked into a little mini-mall with discount shopping all around! My daughter had mentioned she heard this place had great pho so we looked it up and they happen to be open. It was good timing as the owner was about to go on a six week vacation to Vietnam. It's located inside the mini mall and you can't see any signage from the street but just walk into the area that says Rose's and you will find a store that reminds me aldi touch between a dollar store Ollie's. Just to the right inside the door you will find T's Sandwiches. No frills place here that is very clean but simple. This is certainly not the place for fast food, indeed many people called in and came by about 15 minutes later, only to still wait a few minutes. But nobody complained and it seemed like a normal part of the process. And everyone we saw come through we could tell were repeat customers who wished him well on his trip. Aptly named, the place really does some great American style sandwiches. My wife got the club and it was just fantastic, fries that came with it were amazing according to my college teenager who waited for my wife to finish and then devoured the rest of them. I asked the guy what the best order was and he said the soup (pho). My two girls and between us got the meatball, beef, and chicken soups. I thought the flavor was fantastic. This particular style has the grill flavor in it as he is cooking the meats on the grill and then infusing that into he soup for a wonderful, soulful flavor that I haven't had anywhere else and would also recommend for others. We also got the fried egg rolls and shrimp spring rolls, both of which were good. Slight word of warning as when he's cooking you can see smoke coming through the air and out to the open mall area so just be aware if you have allergies. The trick is certainly to put an order in and pick it up as he makes each order as it comes in and at times people waited for ten minutes just before he was able to get around and assist them...but again not one complaint! If you are in town and want a pleasant surprise just a few blocks off campus, meet up here. All that food, with bottled drinks added, came out to $60 which I thought was a great deal! T sandwiches is one of the only Vietnamese shops in town and it's delicious. I typically get the chicken noodle Pho and spicy chicken fried rice. This place is especially known for its chicken noodle Pho. It's a bit hard to find since it's inside of another store called Roses. But it's delicious. The man who works there is confusing at times, but I think it might be a language barrier, but he seems kind. The restaurant has a cozy feel not too big not too small. Overall, I go here often. Holy moly... the best hidden little gem in Nacogdoches. Also, the only consistent place you can get Pho. Pleaaaaase don't be scared off that it's in a shady little "mall" in Nacogdoches. I almost turned around and left out of confusion if this was the mall or the social security office, but I'm so happy I didn't! I got the summer rolls (fried egg roll essentially) which were made immediately fresh. I had to wait for them to cool before eating. I order the beef Pho. They were a little skimpy on the sides (beans sprouts, jalapeño, cilantro and lime), but it was enough to suffice. The broth was deep and flavorful! The owners checked on me enough that it wasn't annoying, but caring. Many people came and went while I was there, some picking up Togo orders. This place is not just Vietnamese, but they have classic fried American items as well. I ordered boba mango smoothie Togo. This was my only disappointment. The boba (tapioca) was warm and falling apart. Something I've never experienced before. Once the boba sat for awhile in my smoothie, they become very hard. I'm not sure what happens as I've never had Disintegrating boba... This is the only place you're going to get Pho in this area on a regular basis. Their price is a little higher for the smaller size bowl than I'm used to paying in the city, but they're the only ones in this area with Pho and I'd pay ANYTHING to eat here every day. read more

Eat at T's! They have a great variety. They have a bad location so they don't have the visibility of other places. This is something you should experience while in Nacogdoches. T Sandwiches is the only good reason to go to the University Mall in Nacogdoches. This tiny sandwich stand with 7 tables is inconveniently hidden inside the mostly vacant University Mall and is one of the best places in Nacogdoches to eat. Not only is it the only restaurant in our pathetic mall, it's also the only place within 100 miles that you can get Pho and Banh Mi. (That's Vietnamese beef noodle soup and sandwiches for the uninitiated.) They have the ubiquitous spring and summer rolls that are available at all Vietnamese restaurants, a good size selection of stir fried dishes, as well as American food like burgers and fries, grilled cheese, and cheese steaks in case you're not an adventurous eater. They even have boba tea (aka bubble tea) in about 8 different flavors! (think: fruit and tea smoothie with large tapioca pearls the size of marbles that you drink through a wide gauge straw.) Nom! Try the avocado boba tea. Sounds weird, but it's delish. The pho is very good. Comparable to what you would find in a large metropolitan area and served with jalapenos, cilantro, onions, sriracha, etc. that most Vietnamese soup shops serve. The banh mi are outstanding. T's sandwiches are top notch and are his specialty in case you didn't discern that from the restaurant's name. If you're not familiar with banh mi, think: stir fried beef or pork and veggies stuffed in a baguette along with cilantro, peppers, pickled carrots and daikon. Yummy. I just made myself hungry. Try this place out the next time you go to the mall to buy overpriced soap from Bath and Body works. You won't be disappointed. read more

Wow, having grown up in Nac I am impressed to have found a solid Vietnamese restaurant here. And in University Mall of all places! I had the chicken pho and it was great. It came with all the fixins you'd expect: Sriracha sauce, jalapeños, bean sprouts, cilantro and lime. If you haven't had Vietnamese food, imagine a chicken noodle soup with longer and thinner noodles, tastier broth, thinly sliced chicken, and tasty things to put in it. My wife had a sandwich and was certainly satisfied as well. We vacationed in Vietnam a couple months ago (specifically Saigon, Hanoi, Nha Trang, and Hoi An), so we can say that this was reasonably authentic Vietnamese food. It was definitely comparable to the better Vietnamese places we've eaten in San Francisco. I'll definitely be back when I'm in town! read more

If I could, I would eat at T's Sandwiches every day. One day as I visited the hall or the small as we call the Nac Mall I passed this little place without a second glance. The second time I passed T's stand I noticed his lit up boba tea menu and about had a heart attack as I stood there gazing stupidly at boba tea, y'all! I called my husband immediately to tell him I thought I was hallucinating because there is no such thing as boba tea or pho in Nacogdoches!! Thank you T for bringing your delicious food to my small town. I love his pho and his sandwiches are so satisfying and delicious. When he asks if you want it spicy he doesn't play around and I appreciate that since I am definitely a fire in my mouth type of gal. My wife and I came here specifically for the Bubble Tea. We were disappointed as the tapioca pearls were mushy and inedible. This was a shame because the drink itself was fabulous but the reason to get bubble tea is actually for the pearls. We also got the chow mein and the fried rice.
