On a recent roadtrip, I kept seeing Newk's Eatery and had never heard of it until then. I also didn't realize it was a chain restaurant but decided to hop in for a quick meal to break up a long drive. Its a casual restaurant with soups, salads, bread, and wraps. It gives like old school restaurant, panera meets souplantation (but not a buffet) vibes. You order at the counter, either with a person or the kiosks and there's tons of customization options. I ended up going with a soup and salad combo and got a half lobster/crab bisque along with a half shrimp avocado salad. Prices were decent, less than $15 for my meal (there were upcharges for some items). I enjoyed my meal and found it pretty filling. The soup was nice and warm and had a pretty good seafood flavor. The salad was fresh and was nicely dressed. I was pleasantly surprised by Newk's and glad we stopped in. It's nothing mind blowing but definitely hit the spot on a long, rainy drive. Have ate there many times but recently stopped in for soup and they only had chili. The chili was a watered down chili without anything in it. I counted 4 beans nothing but a watered down juice. I loaded it down with some crackers. That evening I was so sick at my stomach. It was definitely the chili water. I don't recommend any company who will short their customers. It would have been better for them to say we are out of soup but we had salads and sandwiches or pizza. read more

I've never had a disappointing Cesar salad or sandwich at Newk's period. But my most favorite menu item is their gooey steak&mushroom pizza here! The crust is thin and crispy! The toppings are plentiful, fresh, always hot and super good. One may ask, this place for pizza? Yes. My first choice for pizza whoever I'm in the area. I highly recommend the steak & mushroom pizza. It truly pains me to write a bad review for this place. The staff is awesome and helpful. My interaction with the GM and catering manager deserves 5-stars. The food, however, just isn't good. The bisque was extremely heavy on the cream and the lobster/crab was non-existent. The pimento cheese sandwich was melted cheese on sub-sandwich bread. I wanted to like the food. I really did want to like it but alas, I did not. Bottom line: The food that I have eaten simply isn't that good. Bon appétit. read more

Delicious pizzas at this outpost of the Newk's chain. We needed some predictably well done food after our experience last night at another restaurant -- and Newk's delivered :) Pizzas are hand tossed and arrived quickly and perfectly executed. We noshed on some gummy breadsticks and house made pickles while we waited. I had the Newk's Q, which I really enjoyed. I and not sure what white barbecue sauce is, but it was really good on the pizza and I would definitely get this again. Newk's is not bad. It's actually pretty good. Jason's Deli used to be my favorite but since Covid they have gone downhill so this leaves room for Newk's to get one step ahead of Jason's. This place has very good and has well made fresh food. It was busy at lunch, but we placed our order after a 10mins wait, found our booth, and had our food in another 7 minutes. Wife had the Tomato Basil soup (huge bowl) with a Baguette-style grilled cheese: both were good. I had the Newks-Q Sandwich: very tasty, avg size, with a nice, tangy sauce. Maybe the best thing we tried was the Mac & Cheese: it was Fabuloso!!! The Pineapple cake was ok. We'll try Newk's again next time in town. Their salad and pizza menu is lengthy and looks good. read more

The food here is very good, have not been disappointed yet. They also have vegetarian options, which is a plus, and they even make their own homemade cakes (the strawberry cake is to die for!!) The staff is friendly and the establishment is very clean. I would recommend this place and I will be returning here often. read more
