Pho Hoa - Vietnamese Near Me - Cypress, California

The pho broth is okay. I think needs more pho spices or rock sugar. It's very mild. I usually go to Pho Wow and Fusion Corner so it's more herbal. Also the summer spring rolls don't have mint just noodle and iceberg lettuce. Not like traditional spring rolls in Westminster but they try to cater to the demographic. read more

This place has only been open for a few months and already downhill. The first time we came when it opened it was a solid spot for pho, then we stopped this week it was dirty the floors are filthy, the waitress cleaned the table right before we sat down and it smelled like mildew! I wanted to leave but stayed, the 2 only waiters were running around trying to get orders out since they added a lunch menu, they even forgot our condiments. Will not be back. If they don't care about how clean the place is it's not for me. read more

I was near by and i wanted soup, most places close at 8 pm and i was deciding if I wanted Korean or Vietnamese and I was looking around and saw this place, it looks new. I been to different Pho Hoa and this one is definitely different from the rest. Most of the waiters and waitresses are young here, like in their 20's. The place doesn't look fancy but what caught my eye was their menu, it looks fancy to me. The picture looks so good lol. I looked through the whole menu and is pretty pricey. They charge the appetizers $3 EACH egg rolls or spring rolls, that's ridiculous. Most restaurants charges $6-$8 for a set of 2-3 pieces, not 1 piece. I ordered their signature pho, it comes with one big piece of beef ribs $20 and an order of popcorn chicken $9.95. I want to try the egg rolls but I'm not going to pay $3 for 1. So they brought out the popcorn chicken and it looks burnt, nothing like the picture. It doesn't look fresh, is been fried again because you can see the clot is dark and crispier. It wasn't good, I only ate the meaty pieces, the sweet sauce is not homemade, is those sweet sauce you get from a package for the egg rolls at any fast food restaurants. The beef ribs pho was bland, the broth doesn't taste like beef broth. Even after adding the hoisin sauce and hot sauce with the lemon, it feels like something is missing. The beef ribs was hard to get the meat off. I thought the meat would just slide off the bone but I had to gnaw it so hard that I gave up, is not worth the $20. Is better just to get the regular combination pho instead. Unless you want to keep gnawing the bone like an animal lol grrrr... and the other table, they got 2 beef ribs. Why I only got 1 piece ? Is it because I'm a skinny man and the other table were bigger people ? So after they drop off the food, the waitress came by once to see how I was doing. I still gave her a $5 tips and my meal was about $30. So for $35, something I can't even eat is a big waste of money. Is better just to go to another pho place and get the same thing and you can actually eat everything. For the owner; how can you serve old popcorn chicken like that to customers ? I also saw another table ordered the same thing and they got what I got too, burnt and super crispy looking popcorn chicken. Maybe you should change the menu picture to what you actually are serving instead of deceiving people. Will I come back ? Heck NO, do I recommend this restaurant ? Heck NO. There's plenty of good Vietnamese restaurants around. read more

Perfect cold day, mid-week dinner Came solo and they gave me a giant comfy booth in the front window. Shrimp pho had a very tasty broth and tons of shrimp. I was excited to see you could add vegetables: baby bok choy, broccoli, cauliflower, sliced carrots, and ENOKI MUSHROOMS! A perfect addition. Chili crunch oil on the condiment caddy was an extra plus! read more

I ordered take out from this place after a long day of work and wanted something warm and comforting. I ordered the #50 hue style soup, popcorn chicken, and summer rolls at around 8PM. At first the soup was delicious and perfect, I wanted to reorder because it was so close to home. I found 1 piece of hair and thought whatever... until I kept finding more. It was honestly unbelievable and flabbergasting how much hair I found in this bowl soup and I had already finished half way. I can only imagine how many pieces of hair I had already consumed... I do not know how this is even possible unless standards were not up to par. I unfortunately will not be returning even though the food is tasty. PLEASE be warned and thoroughly check before eating your food :( read more

Late review for our July 15 visit. We came here because it was opened late until midnight. We were sat immediately. Jacob our waiter provided great customer service. Interacting with each customers at every table. Talked stories with us as we were visitors from Honolulu, HI. Matcha drink and pho broth was good. We ordered the large bowl of Pho and asked for extra bowl to share. Older employee noticed and offered to give us more broth. That was a very kind gesture. Restaurant is clean where the sriracha bottle tip did not had any sauce residue on it. Would eat here again. read more

i had to come out of my yelp hibernation to write a review for this lovely establishment!! and we have a new reviewer with us... colette! pho hoa has a special place in my heart... out of all the pho places i've been to, this one has the most delicious pho because it reminds me of my grandma ba ngoai!! this pho is basically on par with hers and i've been eating her pho ever since i was a little kid. i was extremely happy to hear tha there was a vietnamese restaurant close to my house, my best friend forever luxe took me during the lunch special and it was sooo good! i left my bowl clean and empty!! the restaurant itself is very clean, quick service, lovely and attending staff, clean bathrooms, and plays a variety of music that's enjoyable!!! the owner is such a lovely man :-) he's very sweet and friendly!!! and everyone else is also nice too!!! that being said, i would 100% recommend this place if you're looking for yummy viet food in the stanton / cypress area... i look forward to trying to dishes here like the wings (which i've heard from others is super yum!!!) colette and i will be rating our regular brisket pho an 11/10!! read more

There's nothing left because it was so freakin good! This is my third time being here and I can say this place is 5 star review worthy. THE SERVICE is excellent, idk what business this pho place has providing 5 star upper scale restaurant service but I'm here for it, it's just a cherry on top of them having really good pho, generous portions and REALLY GOOD VIET COFFEE. I would come here just for the coffee alone. Trang helped me today, and she was above and beyond! read more

Finally got to try this pho spot and I'm happy to say that it met my expectations. Broth was flavorful, and protein to carbs ratio was well balanced (leaning more so on the protein side -- which is a plus!). Service was friendly and the ambiance is peaceful compared to your typical pho shop where it's slightly chaotic and loud. Sometimes you just want to enjoy a nice bowl of pho with some peace and quiet, yah know? Overall, I will definitely frequent this location. Good food, convenient and nice atmosphere. read more

We came in for the birria pho after seeing a few videos online and it did not disappoint. The broth was so good and the meat very tender. Everything here is delicious, especially the pho and egg rolls. The broth just tastes so good, and the meat quality such as the brisket and steak are better than most places. This is my new go-to Pho place in the Cypress/Stanton area. The broth - excellent! And what's Pho if the broth is not the best quality? You can tell it's made from the freshest beef and bones. It's excellent as is and better with hoisin sauce. The noodles - fresh and springy. Ports are huge! Next time I'm checking out the Pho with birria broth. Really?! Mexican fusion - finally! Like I said, next time. Just discovered this new place by accident. Oh, and the service is great. Thumbs up! read more

Plenty of parking and seats inside. Modern styled. Clean. Ordered spicy pho and the steak and beef regular pho. The regular is plenty enough for one to eat. The spring roll was descent but a bit too dry but I lathered it with the peanut sauce so it was better. Their drinks were good not overly too sweet but it was small and filled with ice more so I didn't get a lot of taro drink. The service was good as they came by frequently to ask how we were doing. The only reason I gave it a two star was the pho. I really just didn't like the broth and the noodles were undercooked. I stopped eating because I just finish it and just did not enjoy the meal. Service and ambiance were good but I just really did not enjoy the pho at all. read more

Came here to try the pho and was seated in the back. I asked to be seated in the front area and they said it was best to sit in the back. I said that was fine and I was seated. I waited about 10 minutes and I wanted to order, but no one came to take my order. I just saw people making to go orders at the front with the employee that seated me and never looked over to see if I wanted to order. They had one server, but he was really focused on the first three tables and I am sitting in the back by myself and he did not look at me once. Really disappointed and felt ignored. I really wanted to try the food but was hungry and felt it was going to take much longer because she kept taking to go orders one after another meanwhile I am just sitting there and being ignored. Unacceptable for a small business. They need to be mindful of the whole area of the restaurant and not just a few tables. I saw one customer eating at a table go to the fri t to request something. I feel they need better training. read more

Pho was top notch. Base had tons of flavor. Didn't need to add much to tailor the flavor to your liking. We tried the rib, steak and birria style Pho's. The birria fusion was very good. you could taste the pho base along with the birria consome. Def recommend if interested in the fusion style pho. Food: Got the Bun Bo Hue I personally thought it was a big miss. The flavors were weak, too fishy and the soup wasn't hot enough to cook the meat they put in. But that's just my take since I'm used to the flavors from Westminster. I'm sure someone who is sensitive to strong flavors may see this version appealing. 2.5/5 Side note: The house-made nuoc mam is excellent 5/5 Service: The service was excellent and the staff were friendly Ambiance: The place is clean and chill. I want to start by saying this is meant to be constructive feedback, especially considering this is their soft opening. My intention isn't to be harsh, but to provide helpful insights based on experience. Having lived in Orange County my entire life and frequenting the Bolsa and Westminster areas regularly, I've tried nearly every pho spot in the area. I eat pho weekly, so I have a good sense of what's standard and what stands out. I'll keep this brief and break it down into three main points: 1. Ambiance The restaurant itself looks nice, as expected for a new place. However, I felt the flow of the space could be improved. There were two exits--one on the left side and one through the main entrance--which made things feel a bit disorganized and confusing. 2. Appetizers (Spring Rolls) I ordered one order of spring rolls, which usually comes as two individual rolls. Instead, I was served one roll cut in half. This should have been clarified when ordering. At nearly every Vietnamese restaurant, an order of spring rolls means two full rolls, often sliced in the middle. For $5, I felt shortchanged, especially when I can go across the street and get three full rolls for $6. Presentation and transparency matter. 3. Pho (and Other Menu Items) Pho noodles: The noodles had an off texture. For those familiar with cooking pho at home, you'll know that the brand and quality of noodles make a difference. These noodles reminded me of the cheaper kinds you can find at markets--not the al dente, high-quality ones that are standard in more established pho spots. The broth: It leaned more toward a plain beef broth rather than the layered, aromatic profile you expect from traditional pho. It wasn't bad, but it didn't have the balance of salty, sweet, and fragrant notes I associate with authentic Vietnamese pho. It felt a bit Americanized. Herbs and Veggies: Basic garnishes like jalapeño slices and culantro (ngò gai) were missing. These are staples and make a difference in the experience. Popcorn Chicken: This tasted like plain chicken coated in flour and deep-fried. There was no flavor, seasoning, or even a touch of basil. Served over dry rice and overcooked eggs, it didn't justify the $15 price tag. I was genuinely excited to try this place, and my friends and family were too. But with so many excellent pho restaurants within just a 1-2 mile radius, it's hard to see a reason to return. Nothing stood out as memorable, and in a competitive area like this, that's important. read more
