Another Vietnamese review I'm going do considering I am Vietnamese and I probably have +1000 bowls of pho my entire time here in Texas. It was a great good lunch but it definitely had its pros and cons in my opinion. Anyone that eats pho, it's all about the broth and this broth had the great standard beef flavor that I'm accustomed too. Great nice bouncy noodles with the overall fresh herbs, like the bean sprouts and cilantro an overall good experience, but allow me to list of pros and cons. Pros: -The meat quality was great, freshly sliced beef and love the bouncy noodles. -The fresh herbs that came with the dish mixed together and overall fresh experience . Cons: -There was too much oil in the soup dish -After I left, even after a few hours, my mouth was still dry which I know for sure they added too much MSG -There wasn't enough beef -There wasn't enough vegetables as you can see on the pictures -You can see how little bean sprouts and leaves they gave me -Not enough green onions, not enough onions in the dish -I ended up eating the entire bowl of food because there just wasn't enough of it -to me it tasted like an $11 bowl not $14. If it came with more beef, yes it would be worth it.

I order pick up and everything was ready in 5 minutes. Food was good, also order a soursop shake, I loved it!! They gave me a big bag of bean sprouts and jalapeños, I really appreciate it. Enjoyed everything and definitely would order again. I just had a hard time finding an updated menu.

Fresh hot and fast - food quality good. Parking is a little tight and location is a bit limited for easy in and out. Seems like low patron level - walk in 2 maybe 3 tables working.

I love getting pho here. It was easy to order over the phone and pick up. Pho is always so comforting when you're not feeling well.

I think Broth and Basil is better. The pork is super tender and the pricing to portion is perfect.

We did not come in with high expectations but the food completely blew us away. K6. Salt and Pepper Crawfish ($19): This was fire and honestly the best fried crawfish we have had. So much better than I expected and unlike anything else we have tried. The crawfish was crispy and flavorful and came with a bowl of white rice and a lemon and pepper dipping sauce. B10. Lemongrass Vermicelli Stir Fry Combo ($17): The receipt said spicy but it was not spicy at all. The combo comes with 3 proteins including chicken, shrimp, and beef, and we added grilled pork ($5) and bi ($3) so we ended up with 5 types of meat in the bowl. The flavors were well balanced even with everything going on and the bowl was absolutely humongous. We were stuffed afterwards.

I also tried their rice cake pancake as an appetizer but honestly, they is also another meal in itself. It will pair well with rice. Good if you enjoy eggs and rice cakes. Their Vietnamese Iced Coffee was also good. Service is super quick. The staff are all friendly. The restaurant is large and parking is abundant as it's located in a large plaza.

The…read moreThai basil leaves were absolutely ginormous, and they gave us plenty of them alongside very fresh limes, which I appreciated. The bowl itself came loaded with meat--they definitely weren't skimping to save money here. The meat-to-noodle ratio felt great, and every bite actually had substance instead of leaving me fishing around for toppings. As for the broth, I landed somewhere in the middle. It wasn't quite as clear or light as I personally prefer, leaning toward a fattier, milkier undertone that almost reminded me of a Vietnamese pho take on tonkotsu. The flavor itself was undeniably very good, but the richness may have been a bit too much for me personally. One way I usually judge how much I love a pho broth is whether I want to sip the bowl down to the very end, and this one wasn't quite light enough for me to want to do that. I've had richer and deeper pho flavors elsewhere, but I still appreciated the flavor profile here and could absolutely see why this place is so popular. It feels hearty, comforting, and satisfying in a way that clearly resonates with many people. Despite how packed the restaurant was, the atmosphere ended up being surprisingly pleasant. Service moved very quickly, which honestly impressed me given how busy everything felt. Even with the crowd, I didn't dislike the spacing or setup at all--the restaurant still felt comfortable, and the sound of people enjoying their food all around added to the lively, welcoming energy rather than making it feel overwhelming. Overall, Pho Phong Lưu ended up being one of those places where I completely understood the hype, even if it didn't become my personal favorite pho spot. While the broth leaned richer than my preference, I still enjoyed the experience and definitely look forward to trying other dishes next time.

And honestly it's better than any fancy restaurant out there. I love the amount of plants in the space and the TV plays cooking videos and it's so nice to watch while waiting for your food! Speaking of waiting for your food, the food comes out super quick! Within 1 minute of ordering my drink, it came out! And a couple minutes after follows the food. The service is amazing as well, the servers are super sweet and are very quick to serve you and get what you need. The menu offers a bunch of things, appetizers, main dishes, desserts, and the drinks! I love how the desserts and drinks are also Vietnamese (most of the time I notice restaurants tend to have the basic selection of fountain drinks and desserts, but this restaurant has a wide variety of drinks and desserts so you can try something new every time you come here!) Most of all, there's a bunch of vegan dishes which I absolutely love. The food is always delicious I've been trying the vegan dishes recently and I love them a lot (as someone who doesn't like vegan dishes normally)! The chicken pho is also so delicious it tastes better than I make it at home! So much flavor. The drinks are so good as well. They also give you a big portion and I normally have leftovers, but the portion size is amazing for the price that you pay. It's definitely more affordable and such a bang for your buck. This is definitely a spot to try and trust me, you'll probably fall in love! If I was an Austin tourist I would definitely hit up this restaurant. I could go on and on about this restaurant.

We ordered the lemongrass stir fry vermicelli (lemongrass stir-fry on top of vermicelli bowls filled with fresh herbs, shredded lettuce, cucumber, pickled carrots, and crushed peanuts. Served with a side of house sauce with chili and pickled carrot) for our child and didn't realize it was spicy. She ended up downing an entire glass of water and couldn't finish her meal. The bun rieu broth was lacking in flavor and there were barely any crab cake pieces. It was disappointing since it looked like it was one of the top mentioned dishes on Yelp. The bu luc lac was decent and hubby enjoyed his dish. For dessert I tried to order che ba mau (coconut milk poured over layers of sweet mung beans, soft red kidney beans, green pandan jelly, and crushed ice) but was told that they didn't have the ingredients to make any of their shaved ice desserts.

The inside was vey inviting and tastefully decorated. We had the Beef Bulgogi Bao, this was really yummy. The bao was soft and delightful. The beef had a sweet bulgogi glaze that worked really well with it. The rest of the toppings added a nice balance without overpowering the meat. My only wish was that it was 4 baos and not two since they are so small. The highlight was the Firecracker Shrimp. Be warned this is not a spicy dish like you might think from the name. The crispy shrimp was crunchy and not soggy at all, it felt pretty clean and not greasy. It came with salad, rice and a spicy soy sauce and it was just so good. With 12 shrimp, it's definitely shareable between 2 people. Lastly we had the Vietnamese iced coffee which was $6. It tasted like Ovaltine and was mostly ice with just a few sips. I wouldn't recommend it unless the cup size is increased or the price is decreased. So overall, it's a bit pricey. The menu was also a little confusing. We checked online prior to coming and they had a lot of stuff but when at the restaurant, there were only a few items listed which caught us off guard. We actually ended up ordering the wrong item (firecracker shrimp when we actually wanted dynamite shrimp, ultimately it worked out cuz it was delicious but the problem still stands). So those are the only cons I can think off. Other than that, The place was fantastic. Did not think Hutto would have a place of this caliber. We will be back to try the rest of the items, it all looked so good. Definitely will be a repeat customer. 4.5 stars rounded up for now.
