I eat Pho Dan as often as 3-4 times a week. I am never disappointed! I've spent time overseas in Korea and am originally from Seattle probably the best state to eat authentic Pho. Kind of disappointed, to say the least. Had some friends recommend this place to us, and we tried it out for the first time. The broth was savory, but didn't have much of the spicy flavor that most other Pho broths have. I might try this place again, but most likely, I'll try their noodle salads, not their Pho. Stopped in and got a take-out order while in town. Excellent food!!!! The fresh spring rolls were so fresh and the dipping sauces so flavorful. The bún gà nuöng was incredibly good. Very extensive menu, good prices and very fast preparation. It's not too conducive for dine-in with no music and basically just a white room, but, it's all about the food. read more

Disappointing. Went to pick up my order and found out things were missing when I got home. Called back and asked for a partial refund on the order that was messed up and they didn't comp me. They asked me to go back to pick up the missing items instead. I had to make 2 round trips to pick up the items and they didn't even bother to offer an appetizer or drink to apologize for their mistake. Food is ice cold now from the trips. They're not going to get my business agajn. read more

Great affordable Vietnamese food, usually come here for lunch and it builds a good crowd. The Pho and vermicelli dishes are all very good and doesn't make me drink a ton of water. Means no MSG right? Server's can be a bit forgetful sometimes, if you ask for a box but the initial serving is always a pretty good experience. Once you're finished, walk up to the counter to pay and grab a lollipop if you want one! read more

Haven't been here in a while. Got my usual Bun Bo Hue. It was terrible! The soup was a super sour salty beef broth that was bland as can be...basically a watered down pho broth! It used to be full of complex flavor that didn't need the chili oil and shrimp paste that accompanied the soup. Plenty of noodles and meat, but it was missing one exotic ingredient...pig's blood. This is my go to for Vietnamese every time! I changed jobs and was sad to move away from the Braker location... Come to find out the second location is right across the street from my new job! It was meant to be. I come in here at least once a week and I'm never disappointed. Best grilled meats around and the best spring rolls hands down. Just about one of the very few Pho places doing dine in these days. Service was quick and economically priced. Customer service made me feel as if I was their only guest, very catering and attentive. Ordered the Avocado smoothie with Boba- very smooth! Tapioca was fresh, so a little warm. I ordered #3. The steak was very thinly sliced and cooked to perfection. It practically melted with each bite. Consistency and flavor of broth was just as savory and filling. Ordered the small and was able to have enough to share with my 12 year old daughter. Their pho is delicious. Always fast service. I've been getting their pho here once or twice a week for like 5 years and somehow I'm not tired of it. I'd recommend the marble or lean brisket or combination of both. Just a good quick place for food. Especially for lunch. read more

I used to really enjoy this place, but I feel like they have gone down hill over the years. My mom got an order of chicken pho and the broth was almost completely tasteless (I will say my beef had better flavor) and both of our orders were cold! We used to frequent the original Pho Dan at Lamar and Braker, and were happy for the owner when she opened a second place in RR. The original Pho Dan had been our favorite Vietnamese restaurant years ago when we lived nearer to it. The service and consistency at the original suffered a little while the owners brought the Round Rock location to speed, but that is expected when one makes a big leap of that sort. Unfortunately, there are still some issues with consistency, and my most recent visit was a little bit of a disappointment. The broth of my Bún bò Hu was too salty, and otherwise only weakly flavored (no additional sides offered) and I never got a refill on my tea. My wife was likewise disappointed with the flavor of her Pho and the lack of service. We will probably continue to support them, but it has definitely been bumped down our list. read more

This pho place is very comparable to the Pho Dan near Chinatown. So good!!! Definitely my go to fix if I'm hanging out up north. I actually came here two days in a row. The pho broth was on point. The second time I came, I got the egg noodle soup with shrimp, pork, and chicken. It was also very yummy and reminded me of home. read more

I was born in Houston, TX and I frequently ate at all the pho places on Bellaire "Chinatown". I moved to North Austin near Round Rock several months ago and I was dissatisfied with the selection of Vietnamese restaurants in the area. There are several spots on N. Lamar which I feel are pretty good, but it is too far of a drive. Pho Dan just opened up by 45 and La Frontera so I had to try it. Mannn was it good!! The pho dac biet was excellent. The bun bo hue was probably the best I've ever had. This is a huge accomplishment because I've had the best bun bo hue in Houston, TX and I also lived in Ho Chi Minh City, VN for 2 years. I think they should rename the place to Bun Bo Hue Dan! LOL.. Also, the Hu Tieu Nam Vang is excellent and probably the best in Austin. If you live in or near Round Rock, TX, you should definitely stop by for lunch or dinner. read more

Very nice indeed. Have been looking for a good Vietnamese restaurant for a long time. I have definitely found it here. They pay particular attention to their meats which is a nice surprise. I had become disenfranchised with Vietnamese food after a zealous start. The quality and freshness of ingredients was a particular concern in a lot of the places I went to. I was disappointed with my lunch today. I was craving bun with tofu and ordered it to go. Folks were very nice over the phone, I picked up my food and took it back. The sauce that usually comes with this- fish sauce- was missing. Instead- there was hoison sauce, which I cant eat. I was very disappointed, but already back at work and took a few bites, but couldn't enjoy the food with the incorrect sauce. I have ordered Pho here, and it is good. I LOVE Pho Dan! I've been to the one on Braker a few times and I'm so excited I have my very own in Round Rock! The pho broth is so flavorful, there's always an abundance of meat and I love how there's three different sizes to fulfill any appetite. It's nice that you can choose from small, large and extra large bowls! Pho for snack or if you're starving a need to swim in your bowl of broth. My husband isn't a soup guy so he usually gets a rice plate with meat. Recently when I went to dinner with my Dad I got him the sliced pork to go for him with an extra serving of pork. The meat isn't usually enough so we figured out that we had an extra portion. He was so happy and satisfied with his meal. Service is is always decent and pleasant...honestly what do you expect out of the little Asian restaurants. I usually get pho with brisket, eye of round and/or flank. I really love Pho Dan as they are close and convenient to our home. We have tried several Vietnamese restaurants in town and these guys are heads and shoulders above the rest. Their staff is friendly and the place is clean and welcoming. I strongly encourage you to try the pork spring rolls. They are light and fresh, with the bright flavor of basil and smokey grilled pork. They can be a meal themselves for those who have a small appetite. (GREAT FOR KIDS) . The Pho is second to none in this town. The broth is very flavorful and has wonderful aromatics. Get the medium if you are really hungry, the large if you want to take some home to eat later. (Pho doesn't keep well, so be sure and eat it within 24/hrs or so) I like to add Jalapeno to mine and give it just a little kick. The vermicelli bowls are my second favorite and often I will have a hard time choosing between the pho and the bowls. The bowl has lots of fresh veggies and meat of your choice. (We like the grilled pork!) Just dump the sauce they give you on the bowl, maybe some the barbeque sauce as well and give it a good stir. Enjoy! read more

And oh my the grilled pork spring rolls. I got all my friends HOOKED on this place, (even the one who was terrified to try it and nearly had a meltdown in the parking lot) So imagine my excitement when they opened one close to my house. (My daughter groaned a little, knowing that meant even more pho!!) Followed by that terrible feeling of, "what if it's not the same?!?" I really had nothing to worry about. Well lit, clean, courteous, and easy to go in and out of at lunch time. Pretty much made it a very pleasant time. They have a well varied menu from Pho to traditional steamed rice dishes to help your tastebuds fulfill their needs. Additionally, they have Asian smoothies and other small items for ordering. I had the Pho Beef & meat ball soup in a "small" portion (that was stilll quite big) and the shrimp & pork spring rolls. The spring rolls were big, fresh, crisp and crunchy. I wish I had two more pieces or shrimp per roll (or just bigger shrimp overall), but nothing negative about them I can consider. The Pho beef broth was really nice. Not over salty or seasoned and the steak and meatballs were good as well. I appreciate the bright natural lighting and openess it has. It seems that they have made use of a good space and if they keep up the food quality and good service, they should be around for a while as more and more people learn about them there. So listen, as of the last time I came to this place (about a week ago) they were using the correct rice--- broken rice--- in their com tam dishes. I can't express to you how much of a pleasant surprise that was for me. Silly as it is, it's enough for me to change my pending 3 star to a 4. Pho Dan doesn't have as many dishes as you'd hope to see in your typical Vietnamese restaurant, although it also adds some healthier dishes you probably wouldn't see.
