Pork Vietnamese sandwich
Natalya S.

Came here for a quick lunch and only ordered the pork Bahn mi/vietnamesse sandwich. I was pleasantly surprised that the bread was relatively soft and the fillings had a good amount of sauce to it, meaning the sandwich wasn't dry. The staff were very friendly and it didn't take long for our food to come out. Worth a stop if in the area!

Rice plate with the salt bomb soup and cold veggies.

I have no idea how this place is a 4.4 stars. I ordered the rice plate with chicken and prawns and spring rolls. The veggies were literally cold like someone forgot to turn on the microwave past 30 seconds. At least they were crispy. The rice was lukewarm, which was hard to mess up. The chicken was OK but again just warm and the shrimp was rubbery. We tried to drink a small bowl of soup that came with it, but neither of us could actually get it down because it was so salty. It tasted like someone spilled half of a salt container into it. Which is incredibly disappointed given that PHO is the real reason I love Vietnamese food. My wife got the BUN, which was marginally better at least edible although a bit on the greasy side. This probably doesn't even deserve the two stars. I'm giving it. Restaurant is weird because there was a radio playing Mexican music than Christmas music playing over the speakers Nickelodeon on one of the screens and some strange Christmas display on the other screen. It was a bizarre experience and they would never recommend.

Vietnamese chow mein with chicken and shrimp.

I had the Vietnamese chow mein with chicken and shrimp. I've never had this dish before. Unlike a Chinese restaurant chow mein is typically oily but not here. The Vietnamese style more of a broth and not greasy. It's not served in a bowl with broth but on a plate where you can see evidence that broth was used in preparation. There are plenty of vegetables. I would consider it healthier than Chinese counterpart. I love Chinese chow mein but this is a healthier alternative. The server never came by the table after taking our order and bringing it to the table. The ambiance is a cozy atmosphere.

My fiancé had pho with steak on the side. Broth wasn't as flavorful even after putting his sauces. But he did finished it cause he was hungry. I was craving for some Bun Bo Hue and this place had it. I asked for extra spicy but of course you can add more with their chili oil. I instantly tasted their broth before adding anything and it had the kick that it needs and most of all the flavor was good.

We come here at least once a week! Service is amazing and staff is so kind. My go to is the vermicelli bowl but you can't go wrong with the pho either!

The food was good and the service too! The breaded fried shrimp tasted like it was from a Costco package thawed and then fried. The restaurant itself has a good vibe and the location is in a safe place. I wish the place could have better ventilation because it gets crazy hot inside.

Conveniently located next to the Trader Joe's with ample parking, love coming here to grab a quick bite before or after. I usually get the beef stew which was really flavorful and the shrimp rolls which are good but could be better but they skimp on the shrimp a bit and the beef as well. I wish the bar seats weren't so wobbly, but I love that they have a bar area with wine and beer on tap. Overall love the service and the ambience

Pork Vermicelli

I think I found my new favorite take out spot! We ordered a Pork Vermicelli bowl, Spring Rolls, and a Chicken Banh Mi. We ate everything so fast that I didn't have time to take pictures of most of it, but that's how you know this place is good!! Everything was super flavorful and I can't wait to come back to try more of their items. The servers were also super friendly and helpful.

Everything here is good. Seriously! :P…read more The banh mi flavors are perfectly balanced. Fresh bread, flavorful meats, bright herbs, crunchy veggies... every bite just works. You can taste the freshness and care in everything they make, which totally lines up with their homemade approach and focus on balanced Vietnamese flavors. And do not forget to order the Vietnamese Thai tea. Trust me. It's delicious and somehow makes the whole meal even better. It's a literal whole in the wall haha. But has nice outdoor seating :) This is one of those spots where you finish eating and immediately start thinking, "Okay... maybe I should have ordered two or three for later lol!" YUMMMMMMM!!!!!!

I spent the weekend in San Jose eating Vietnamese food and today, I had a craving for banh mi…read more This location is closest to my house so I drove there for the first time. It's located in a small structure in front of the Atrium building in Walnut Creek. Inside is a small counter with no place to sit. They take your order and you're expected to go outside, on the other side of the store, to wait for your meal. There are a few tables and chairs outside that's ideal when the weather is good. The aroma of freshly cooked Thai tea filled the space. I ordered BBQ pork and it came out smaller than I expected but it tasted clean and fresh. It was enough to satisfy my craving. Service wasn't very fast as they cook the meat as you order that accounts for the freshness of the sandwich. I paid for extra pâté but it still wasn't enough. If you're used the the huge delicious banh mis from Story Road in San Jose, the pork bbq sandwich from here don't measure up as far as I'm concerned. They're much smaller, almost half the size. I wish the pork bbq had more flavor to it and more veggies were added. If you have a big appetite, one sandwich might not be anough.

Everything was delicious, especially the red curry! I also want to shout-out the take-out person who made our order, they did a great job and got all of our adjustments right. (We wanted some things omitted/on the side) I was nervous there would be a mistake but it was perfect so shout out to whoever that is. And I could see on the receipt they checked everything off so I appreciate that. The one thing I do not like about this place is that you have to pay for the rice separately when you buy curry. I knew this before ordering so I just made some at home, but I find that very odd. Who is going to eat curry just as is? It's like serving a bowl of alfredo and charging extra for the fettucine. It seems to me like a random way to get more money out of guests; I don't know why else it would be that way. Rice costs barely anything; they should consider including it and maybe adding a dollar or something to the entree. Nonetheless, we would order from this spot again; we really enjoyed the food, the portions were really good sized too.

Less than amazing, all the spots have meters and it's $10.50 for three hours! Credit card is the way to go with the meters, because I hesitated after putting in the first quarter (to try to see how much time that bought me) and subsequent quarters did not register. We had a party of six but it was no problem getting reservations for 12:30 p.m. on a Sunday. Good thing we had a reservation because the place was packed on this Sunday early afternoon. Servers were friendly and efficient, always a plus. I had the PraRam and I was very pleased with it. Best PraRam I've had since losing Ginger's Thai restaurant in Martinez. Definitely worthy of a return visit!
