I came here for lunch after passing by multiple times. Not many Vietnamese restaurants in the area and this one seemed like it would take care of my soup craving. I got the combo pho and shared the spring rolls and they were both also good. One of our party members was running behind and the waiter offered to reheat the soup so he didn't get cold soup, which we appreciated. Plenty of seating and the space was very simple. Now been here to eat many times. Just great fresh and authentic Vietnamese food. I love both the egg rolls and the fresh spring rolls as appetizers. The pork dish with vermicelli and fresh vegetables is one of my favorites. The pork has been marinated in very tasty Vietnamese spices. So tasty! My friend ordered the beef pho and stated it was one of the very best he had eaten. Several beers on tap along with some wine selections. Service is nice and very friendly. We came in on a Tuesday evening and was greeted by a spacious restaurant. We were greeted and asked to take a seat anywhere. We came in an hour and a half before closing and were one of two tables. The menu had options for vegetarians and meat eaters which was nice. We opted for - Plain Pho Seafood Pho Vegetarian Pho Crispy rolls The kitchen was quick to send out our orders and the soup was lukewarm The noodles were still stuck together and there wasn't an amount of stirring to untangle them. If the broth was hotter the noodles would have come undone. The broth was also flavorless and the vegetables were uncooked leaving a raw, bitter taste from the cauliflower and broccoli. The crispy roll appetizer was disappointing for the price. They were so tiny, the sauce was salty, and they were also oily and flavorless. Best pho ever! We first were skeptical because it's in Lafayette, thought Asian restaurants were not so special. But I was wrong. We tried so many different pho places in Bay Area, but this restaurant is far beyond other places. We make pho at home a lot so we can tell the difference between artificial flavor and real broth flavor. This place uses real broth, great quality of meat and veggies. We also ordered chow mein and it's incredibly good too. It's a little pricey but the portion is huge. Regular size is like an extra large so you can share with your family. And very clean and warm service so service fee is understandable. We can't wait to come back again! read more

We love Pho Benny! Up until now I wasn't a huge fan of Vietnamese, my husband tried Pho Benny and he kept going back to it for lunch, so one day I decided to give it a try! And I'm SO GLAD I did! The food is so delicious with great quality ingredients. The service is excellent and the interior is nice! I've tried their Vietnamese Chow Main with shrimp, shrimp and bbq'd pork over rice vermicelli, plain chicken noodle soup (just noodles and lots of yummy broth and some green onions), and spring rolls. Pho Benny is our favorite lunch spot in Lafayette! Also next time I'm sick I'm going to get the chicken noodle soup from Pho Benny instead of whole foods! read more

This place has potential for growth. The flavors are absolutely great! Comparing it to Kevin's pho in Walnut Creek, I would say it's above. Big portions. The chicken noodle soup was superb. The chicken doesn't have that nasty texture you get from other pho places. However, the service needs to be better. And, that's why I rated it 4/5. We would have loved to enjoy a specific dish...but our server quickly disoriented us from ordering due to the "slowness in their kitchen." You're in Lafayette, so don't expect to pay $8-$10 for a bowl of pho. It's pricier, but the portion makes up for it! read more

Pho Benny hit the spot on my recent trip to Lafayette and I was pleasantly surprised to find this place in a small-ish town. The broth was 100% on point with all the notes you expect from a real bowl of Pho. The meat was tender and topping options were plentiful. I am a long time Pho lover, growing up in the city there were tons of spots my friends and I would go to to get our pho. Our main spot closed down for a while and we moved on. Anyways, I have been here twice since moving into the area. The special combo is , the broth is delicious, the meet and veggies are super fresh and I would highly recommend adding the meatballs My wife had the spicy noodle soup and loved it! The service is awesome too! They accidentally brought me out a small bowl, but I didn't mind because I knew I could just finish off my wife's bowl. But they came back a few minutes later and corrected their mistake and gave me a second small bowl to make up for it! 10/10 will be coming back here on the regular. This place is always busy. Love their shrimp rolls and the warm is air sauce they serve with it. The vegetable pho is loaded with a variety of veggies and the noodles...so chewy and delicious. The broth is also delightful. The only bummer is that the broth doesn't stay hot for the duration of the meal but it's with it. read more

Saw good reviews for a pho restaurant in Lafayette so we thought we would give it a shot. Went in at 3 pm on Sunday and there was nobody inside. They have a nice and welcoming dining area with two large TV's over the bar showing CNN and another news channel. The food was decent, but not my favorite in the area. We ordered chicken pho for kids, spring rolls, and a pork banh mi sandwich. The pho broth tasted just like chicken broth from a can and my daughter didn't care for it. The banh mi was tasty, but there could have been more meat in it. Finally, the spring roll wrapper tasted a little dry and not fresh like it was just rolled. Prices were higher than other pho restaurants in the area. Pho was almost $15 for a bowl, the banh mi was $8 and prices seemed about 25% higher. Finally, there was lipstick on two of the water cups we had which always makes me nervous about the cleanliness of the place. read more

Well prepared Vietnamese food, fresh ingredients, friendly staff. I was visiting from the South Bay, where there's no shortage of great Vietnamese restaurants. We dined on the back deck which may seem a little small but turned out to be very enjoyable given the open air environment. Our main dish was the Prawn Rice Claypot. Nicely spiced but not spicy-hot. The rice was done just right, sticking to the pot just a little giving it a built if crispiness on the bottom side. Prawns were fresh, and the dish had a good assortment of vegetables to make it complete. We had spring rolls as well, which were fresh abd well made. Overall I'd say the spring rolls are on par with what you'd expect at a good Vietnamese place. The Prawn Rice Claypot was a stand-out, and I'd order it again if not tempted to try another dish here. read more

Surprisingly tasty pho gem hidden in downtown Lafayette! My wife and I came here for lunch on a rainy weekday and were pleasantly surprised to find the restaurant mostly full, but no wait. She had a vermicelli noodle dish and I had a large bowl of pho with steak. Both were generous portions, very tasty (I typically avoid pho because it's often bland--but not here!), and arrived quickly. Service was friendly and we left happy and full. Five stars. I don't think I ever had good pho until I came to this place. It was rainy and cold and I just wanted a bowl of warm soup. I came in and asked what was the their best pho, he recommended #7 eye round & brisket. I nearly finished the whole bowl and wanted to cry how good it was. This is a hidden gem! We just completed our St Mary's Elite Softball Camp and it went from Sunny skies day before to cold wind and rain today! This place had the nicest ambiance and service was superb! They were very friendly and all smiles and welcoming. There is parking in the street and in the parking lot across street right next to Trader Joe's. The food was amazing and the portions and price was just right and even better than most places I've visited in the Bay Area to Sacramento. If you are visiting this area you need to come by here and Visit. They have a bar and TVs and seating is nicely organized and roomy. The sauces and flavor you can add are on the table and they were so friendly to my niece about the chili is hot so be safe when asking for spicy! I wanted to like this place so much because I love Pho but I have been disappointed the 3 times I have tried it. The broth doesn't taste like bone broth. I ordered beef Pho each time hoping for a better turn out but it tasted awful each time. It tastes like carton chicken broth with noodles and beef. I expected beef fresh bone broth. Pho Benny Rocks! Wife and I eat a lot of pho. Normally we have to go to Concord (from Moraga) to find the goods. We tried Pho Benny tonight and loved it! The Good: 1. The broth is amazing. Noodles were tasty. 2. Tendon was soft and tasty. 3. Staff was super friendly 4. Very close (near Trader Joes) 5. Bonus: the egg rolls and spring rolls are also on point. Not so Good (note: none worth a full star loss): 1. My takeout order unfortunately was missing the veggies (sprouts/peppers, cilantro, basil). But the soup was so good, it didn't even detract! 2. Price is a little high (~$14 per bowl), but saves me a longer drive to Concord or WC. 3. Steak strips were slightly frozen inside. I appreciate they're storing these well, but this was a first for me. Bottom line: Definitely will be back. Help support some much welcomed diversity in Lamorinda cuisine! read more
