We ordered takeout from Pho 96 for the first time yesterday and it was pretty tasty. My all time favorite pho to go back is to order the large rare steak pho with extra broth. I throw everything in my soup pot at home for a quick reheat. Doing it this way has 2 huge benefits. 1. The pho is hot and perfectly cooked when I sit down to eat 2. There is enough soup for my husband and I to have big bowls at dinner, with a toddler sized portion for our son and small bowls with lunch the next day. The pho was tasty but didn't come with as many yummy greenery to throw in as our normal place. I really like the greenery... the pork and shrimp spring rolls rocked and the peanut sauce they came with was straight up outstanding. Seriously. I could have just eaten that for dinner and been happy. The crab wontons were good but definitely could have used some hot, hot mustard to balance to out sweet sauce. read more

I stopped in and picked up an order of shrimp spring rolls, and was highly disappointed to see that there was only shredded lettuce and the shrimp inside the roll. Now, normally I've had spring rolls in the past they've had cilantro, mint leaves, bean, sprouts, cucumber, carrot., etc.. I won't return to this restaurant ever again. Pho 96 is up there with Pho Duy as the best pho restaurant off of Federal. It certainly is the place be on Friday and Saturday nights after a long night of drinking as they're open until 3 am. The service here is surprisingly fast, but don't be surprised if there's a line at night. I personally think that they give the biggest portions of meat and noodles here. I never need to order extra rare steak like I do at some other restaurants. The bean sprouts, basil, jalapeños, and limes are always fresh. Sriracha and Hoison bottles always full. This is my go to spot when I'm in the Denver area. Give them a try whether you're looking for good pho or even looking for a hangover cure . read more

For the Fried Chicken Wings, those are disappointing to me. I like how this place open later than most of the restaurants in Denver. With that being said, most places closes at 9pm. Now if you are late eater like I am, it's hard to find a place in the city that open especially a pho place. My friend and I came there around 9pm and we was very hungry. My friend order a combination rice plate. Her food was delicious except for the fried spring roll, I rather they use the egg roll wrapper than the spring roll. The meat was marinated with a nice sauce and it tasted very good when it is grill. I had the Pho Dac Biet. It was a small bowl but it was filled up with lots of meat, good portion of noodles and broth. It tasted very good and perfect when you add the hoison and siracha to it. It was late at night and my fiance and I were super hungry. We had landed at Denver airport at around 10:30 . We did not want to settle for fast food, which is normally the option that late at night. Luckily, because it was Friday night this place was open till 3 AM. There was a lot of road work going on in the roads so we got lost quite a bit, but we finally made it!!! I stopped here for a early dinner before heading to the airport. The broth was good but on the light side of a bold beefy flavor, I like. I got the large bowl and the meat portion was the most of anywhere I have eaten. Dare I say, it was almost too much? Nah... This place was ok. We ordered the Vietnamese egg roll and crab Rangoon. Both were good, and I did find the crab Rangoon seem to have more crab flavor that others I've had elsewhere. Picked up a sickly bae at the airport and needed a late night pho option this past Friday night. Found Pho 96 on Yelp and after checking out their 3 am close time, we made a beeline for two big bowls of hot soup. The good: + Open late! They close at 3 am on Friday and Saturday and 10 pm on every other day of the week. + Quick service. There was only about five minutes between when we ordered and our food being at the table. The bad: + Pho 96 felt like it needed a good cleaning. Maybe we caught them on a bad night and sure, it was after 10 pm on a Friday night, but it wasn't terribly busy and I was surprised at how dirty it felt in there. Messy, un-bussed tables, crumbs all over the floor, and sticky menus. I was seated with a direct view behind the host desk, which was really cluttered and needed to be tidied up. Our paper bags with chop sticks and spoons were weirdly wet--not a good look. + The pho was alright--not the best I've had in Denver, but got the job done. The accoutrements (basil, limes, jalapenos, and bean sprouts) were all a little wilty. We also ordered spring rolls that had super dry chicken in them. I've been to a handful of pho spots in the area (Pho Duy, Pho 555, Pho 79) and had a much better food/ambiance experience there. Don't get the durian smoothie here, it's made from flavor powders, go a couple of blocks down to Can Tho Pho, they use real chunks of durian fruit which makes the smoothie 10 times better! But Pho 96 has real good quality meat when it comes to the rare and flank steaks in their beef noodle soup. Just the right tenderness and each piece has bits of fat attached, mmmmm! read more

Driving down Federal Blvd, you pass maybe 105 Pho restaurants all that look the exact same so I am convinced you really can't go wrong. But somehow my boyfriend picked this one. And we have actually been coming back/ ordering take out for several months now. We've always had good experiences. The servers are friendly and don't visually act too annoyed at my questions (I just ask a lot of questions and like trying new things haha). We have tried a lot of things on the menu and have always loved it. We have also found we can split a large Pho and maybe some dumplings and that is plenty for 2 people and under $20. Pho review Broth: 4/5 - decently salty and rich oxtail broth that paired well with lime, hoisin, and chili. I didn't think it was rich enough, and the anise spice kick was not there for the balance though. Noodles: 5/5 - using the correct banh pho squared rice noodles. Meat: 5/5 - perfectly sliced rare beef steak + flank, very tender Vegetable plate 5/5 - perfectly fresh bean sprouts, thai basil, juicy limes. I loved the complex flavors in the veggie broth, and the fried onions added great texture. I'm not even vegetarian, and am crazy about their veggie broth. I ordered a large bowl of the pho dac biet. I am by no means a pho snob, but I have been spoiled by some great pho shops in CA and Vietnam. My order came out and the broth looked clean, but the noodles were all clumped together. The broth, which is the most important thing was bland and did not have a lot of flavor to it. The waiters are Rude to certain ppl I've noticed, Me and my boyfriend always come here (from far away too) and this passed Sunday, I went by myself and I was waiting for my coconut boba, and as I asked the waiter where is my boba because I was waiting for at least 15 minutes on it, I got the food before the drink... as I asked he rudely interrupted me and said "yeah, yeah, you want coconut boba, is coming okay!"
