Very yummy! We had the 1. Vermicelli I don't remember what it was called lol then I had mango and sticky rice and it was absolutely delicious definitely recommend it!!!! Also the beers here are only $4.00 read more

First time trying today and was very excited. Upon arrival me and my husband are greeted by an obviously tired waitress bussing the tables. Restraunt was pretty full and she was doing all of the work by herself. She finally seated us and took our order. It seemed it took a good 15 minutes to get our order. Food was very hot and fresh. We ordered the #1 soup and the veggie soup with beef broth also the gyoza and combination spring rolls. Food tasted ok, kind of lacked flavor. But it just didn't seem very clean and inviting as it should be considering the area of town. Tables were disgusting and loaded with dishes. Having this sense of uneasiness made it not pleasant. I admire the waitress who held it together and kept her cool with all the responsibility she had. She definitely needed help and i overheard her tell someone in the kitchen she called a coworker and asked for help but they told her she would BE ALRIGHT! So overall I would suggest better cleanliness and maybe another waiter. I may give this place another chance, not quite sure. read more

Delishous every time. Fresh and tasty. I drive from Tehachapi to eat here. Very reasonable prices. read more

Pho 88 - Vietnamese Near Me - Bakersfield, California

The restaurant is small and kept clean. Their pho however is very bland. Not the worst but definitely a runner up.

Spicy Korean noodle can add few more shrimp and other seafood. The one that I've ordered only have 2 shrimps and 2 slices of squid, man I paid $12.95 for that! Overall it's not worth the money it's just mainly noodle soup for almost $13.00 hmm.. Paid Too much for so little soup! Not recommending to anyone with right mind though! read more

Good Vietnamese spot, better than other places in town. Their vermicelli bowls are really good. Try their bun with charbroiled steak, shrimp and egg rolls, they use a lot of fresh ingredients. read more

Love this place. Consistently good and reasonably priced. Their pho is the best I've had and they aren't shy with the portions. I have enjoyed everything I have tried on the menu and they regularly add new items so you don't get bored. read more

Pho 88 - Spicy kimchi ramen..... So good! - Vietnamese Near Me - Bakersfield, California

The server, most likely the owner, has 0 social skills. Seems annoyed when you request something. Food is typical pho, not bad, but not great read more

The place has a modern artistic look you don't find much in bakersfield and the food is definitely fresh homemade and made with a lotta love cool new place something rosedale needed and price was good and service was great will definitely be coming back read more

Just experienced this place. Food is fantastic, service is very poor. As part of a small group, we were told that they don't split guest bills, because it takes too long. They ended splitting them anyway. Food arrived before our drinks did, and then the drinks were given to the wrong people. One in our party did not get his order with the rest of the group, without any explanation from the staff as to why. Finally our server said that the kitchen had messed his order up, and had to make it again. He ended up leaving before it arrived. After it was all said and done, I probably won't be going back, even though the food was good. read more

I've tried this place a few times and I'm pretty satisfied with the food and service. Today I ordered korean spicy soup... I would not recommend it. The taste was mediocre and too pricey. I'll stick with my favorite #8. Looking forward to going back. read more

First Pho experience here at Pho88. The food was great. I have been here a few times and it is consistent. I usually order the flank steak and brisket with shrimp fried rice and sweet and hot wings. Food has been great every time. They also have a good wine selection. Not a fan of the stainless chop sticks as the Pho tends to slide right off. Good place!!! read more

My 6 year old loves soup so we came here for lunch because they were close. We both loved the soup, all the items we orders had great flavors, the service was good and they were quick. Huge portions, we ate some of the soup and ended up having a lot of left overs which we happily had for dinner. Over all I would come here again. I actually wish I would of found this place sooner. read more

Went here for a quick lunch one day and its not as good as I was hoping. The soup portion is very large and cheaply priced. The flavors though were not very good the beef they brought me to cook in my soup tasted horrible and I got the upgraded steak option. Pretty disappointing. The staff was one young girl she did a great job but the food wasnt near the quality as some other places in town. read more

My girlfriend and I have been trying vietnamese places all around town looking for good bun. This is the best, maybe not as good as the bay area, but very close! Great pho as well! I've been making trips here almost once a week and have not been let down. Good, consistent, quality vietnamese food and a nice atmosphere for any dining experience! read more

Tried the bun with beef, shrimp and pork. The noodles and veggies were great. The shrimp were good, but the beef was tough and the pork chewy. I'll go back to try the pho. read more

If you have not had Pho before, this is definitely the place I would recommend for you newbies!! Very descriptive on the menu so you'll know exactly what you'll get! Great service and definitely great prices. read more

Stopped by this place last week. Walking in, I didn't expect the restaurant to actually make bomb pho in such a town that lacks diversity (compared to Southern California, where I live) like Bakersfield. Service was amazing! There was only one waitress but she somehow managed all the tables herself and was still attentive. The atmosphere is very modern and the music is great. Silverware and bowls are of top notch quality for the price range it offers. The only thing it's missing right now is a pokestop. That said, I'm definitely coming back when I'm back in town. read more

I have been to many pho restaurants in the past and the taste is very different. The stock in this pho does not have an authentic flavorful taste. It's bland, suited more for people who don't like foods with stronger flavors. It's ok for the first timer who hasn't tried more "authentic" pho. Large portions. Prices are reasonable. The other dishes like the rice and rolls are ok. read more

The Asian waiter didn't smile, wasn't attentive, didn't say hello, didn't say good bye, there was nothing positive, just seemed like he could care less and acted the same towards the other patrons. Blows my mind that know one else has noticed this & continues to frequent this establishment. The pho is mediocre at best. I will absolutely never come back to a business that can't hold employees accountable for such crappy customer service. read more

Second visit. Also a positive experience. I had a beef dish this time and it was very good. However there was only one waitress for the whole place and like 8 tables with people. She did a great job too. I just have the gut feeling that owners treat waiters like garbage and that's why there were no other employees. After reading some more info, I'm convinced that's true. read more

Made a call for a to-go order and when I walked in the guy took 10 minuets just to help me. He was by the computer in the back sitting on his phone and clearly knew I was there and said "I'll be right there" and still on his cell phone. He was very rude and it took almost 35 minuets to get my food after I called almost an hour before picking it up. Horrible service, will not be returning. read more

My husband and I went to Pho 88 for date night a couple of days ago and I was horrified with the service and cleanliness of the restaurant. The vibe inside was depressing. Our waiter happened to be the owner, he was the only one working the floor that evening. Huge red flag!! He was aloof, emotionless and short. He looked miserable working. We had to ask him for the basics such as plates and utensil after he brought out our appetizer. He appeared irritated and inconvience in doing it. Once he brought us our food, he literally avoided our table. He didn't even refill our drinks after hearing my husband saying he was thirsty. The only time he came back to our table was to drop off the bill and quickly left. Towards the end of our meal, a family of four came in and they must have been friends because he was mingling with them and was very attentive. It was the first time I saw the owner smile all night. I feel he should treat every customer the same. I will not come here again. The food was decent, but the service was poor. I have been coming here since the resturant first open and it just gradually went down hill since this owner took over. read more

My wife and I just returned from lunch at Pho 88. Overall we were disappointed with our visit, and here's why. Service - 4 out of 5 The service was fine; the waitress was friendly and timely. No complaints. Food - 2.5 out of 5 The food was average. I ordered the veggie pho and my wife ordered the Pho 88 Special (mostly fish and wheat noodles). Both dishes were comparable to Pho Hut or Pho Vi. Not bad, but nothing special. Value - 1 out of 5 This is where the restaurant really disappointed us. The food prices were fairly comparable to other pho restaurants in the area, although Pho 88 was a little more expensive. The drinks, however, were definitely overpriced. The Thai tea was $2.50, which is standard, but they charged $2 for a 12 ounce can of soda. That's a 1000% markup! Charging large amounts of money for drinks is one way that restaurants try to sneak more profit from their customers, and it's a pet peeve of mine. Our total price ended up being $17 per person, after 2 dishes, 2 drinks, and a standard (16%) tip. For $17 per person, I expect more from a restaurant. My wife and I will not be back. If you are looking for decent pho, just stick with Pho Hut or Pho Vi. They offer better value, and they don't try to scam you on the drinks. read more

Spicy wow and excellent. Spicy beef pho with noodles. Add in's on the side include bean sprouts cilantro, basil, lime and japaleno. Also had spring rolls with pork or shrimp. Peanut sauce and a sweet ginger sauce for dipping. Small with very good service. read more

I absolutely love this place. It's tough to find a good Vietnamese restaurant in Bakersfield; however, this place is by far the best. I recommend the Spicy Beef Pho, and Vegetarian Spring Rolls around. read more

Love their beef and chicken soup bomb. If you don't know what fresh crisp soup taste like your missing out. Its SERIOUSLY A Craving Now.

Terrible!! We use to come to here all the time but this was our last time! We got the veggie pho but it smelled like dead chicken. The veggies were old and the pho was super salty. This was the second time in a row that we had a bad experience. First I thought maybe it was an accident but the second time was even worst than first time. I hope we don't get sick from this food. read more

I've been a regular customer eating at Pho 88 about once a week. During the week service was good and the pho was good with plenty of broth and noodles. Lately, especially on the weekends service has been mediocre and it seems like both the ingredients and quantity of the pho have both gone down. One thing that didn't go down are the prices which have been raised. Looks like I will be passing on the Pho at Pho 88. read more

My wife found this place from another Yelp review and I am very grateful she did. We have to go here once a week now that we know about it. Our meals usually include the spring rolls with the peanut sauce, a pho bowl, and a side of pork fried rice. That is the best fried rice I've had in a long time. The pho noodle bowls are killer. I found the spicy beef bowl (#14) is amazing. I have to warn you though that it is very spicy even for someone who is tolerant. If you go for the first time, YES, the tables are sticky they sealed them funky lol. I would like to see them invest in a soda fountain rather than cans, but that is all minor. Good eats!! read more

We love this place for Pho! The service can be spotty, but never bad, just so so at times. The food is always really consistent and good! The portions are great and the add ins are delicious as well. We also like the garlic edamame read more

Food is good but the older Asian man walking around didn't even acknowledge my family and I. He made a point to provide great service to the men at the table next to us that shared the same common seven oaks golfing interest because the man serving them was wear a seven oaks vest. I don't think we'll be dining in at this place again after that. read more

Went for dinner - not busy at all. Tried the basic Pho noodle soup - broth above average, serving size smallish, bowl and ambience modern. It is basic food, higher priced in a posh atmosphere but trapped in strip mall which seems contradictory. Friend had teriyaki which was at best average. Prefer authentic with larger servings in less modern settings. read more

We had terrible service! We were seated and then she disappeared for ten minutes. We finally flagged her down and ordered our appetizer, food, and drinks. We received the appetizer and food BEFORE we got our cans of soda. I flagged her down again to ask for them, and she said "I'll bring them to you when I can". We didn't even get to eat half of our meal before we had to go back to the office, which was disappointing. It's not necessarily her fault that she was the only one working the busy lunch hour. I would definitely suggest having a second person for that time, seeing as it's so busy! The food was actually pretty good and they give HUGE portions. It's by far the most expensive Pho place I've been in town. I do think $2.50 is too much for a can of Dr. Pepper I didn't have time to drink... read more

Great pho. Even Togo. Got a huge portion and the spring rolls were great. Reasonable price. Try it out.

The food was delicious, but the service was mediocre. Was difficult to get our waiters attention and he did not smile once. Your friendliness just needs to improve. Also, they need to clean their tables and condiments on tables much better. Additionally, chair caps on the bottoms of the chair legs would be a big Improvement because when they squeak across the floor it's ear piercing! read more

Very good food. Been here two times now and the Pho was excellent both times. Highly recommend.

Place was pretty good our friend found it on our way back to NorCal from a car show we got good vegetarian pho and tofu spring rolls!

This is the 2nd time I order from Pho 88. The BBQ Spring Rolls are good and I've had the Chicken Teriyaki. Which was also good but the customer service is horrible. I was "helped" by the same guy the 2 times I went to pick up my order. He has no emotion or the wanting to help you.Really makes you feel not wanted and awkard. He just gives you the order and receipt and does bother to say thank you or see you next time or nothing. Both times i didn't get my change back. Which was only a few cents but I would expect them to at least try to give the change. If I don't go back its due to the lack of customer service. read more

The service has always been slow, I overlooked the slow service because I really liked the pho, tonight the service was beyond bad. We ordered at 5:20 pm for 4 items to go, we were told 15 mins, we got there at 5:20 so I was prepared to wait, it was obvious the moment I walked in that they were overwhelmed. We ended up waiting 45 mins for our to go order. We got home and realized that our order was wrong, so my child wasn't going to get to eat? We called them and they asked us to wait 20 mins to get the correct order??? Really?? After waiting 45 mins and then driving home and driving back another 20 mins I picked up the CORRECTED order which I checked as well as I could due to it being PHO Soup, got home and my first order was wrong!!! Contained tripe and tendon which I ended up THROWING OUT as I'm not eating tripe and tendon, the second order had ZERO MEAT and no vegetables and the third order was cold teriyaki chicken which my child refused to eat!!! So to summarize I paid 35.00 for orders that at 7:20 pm we threw in the trash! They actually asked us to come back and offered a replacement for 1 order? All three orders went right in the trash, my child ate the springs rolls. The service here is terrible! We will never go back! read more
