Not a huge place, we went and sat at a four top table. You order off tablets so I couldn't get a copy of the menu. The portions were decent, the broth seemed a bit creamy. Love this place. There hasn't been a time I've been let down. The customer service here is always great. The food tastes delicious every time. The portion sizes are perfect! This time I ordered their pho lunch special which includes a choice of a side and drink. I chose fresh spring rolls and an iced tea for a drink. On the menu it only shows coke products, but you can ask for other drink options. Don't sleep on this place. It's a must try if you love pho! read more

Located in a plaza with ample parking and wide variety of restaurants to choose from. The service is pretty straightfoward. You can order from the iPad, which is so efficient and organized. The place itself looks outdated but feels intimate as it can be dim inside. It depends on your preference but I like it. This is ONE of the few spots for delicious pho bowls in Bakersfield. Small little restaurant. We were greeted right away and told to sit wherever we liked. The food was really good. I loved the kung pao spaghetti and the pho. The chicken wings were on the smaller side with very little meat, so I probably wouldn't order those again. Overall, though, great experience and I'll definitely be back. read more

It's a 2 star and that's generous. It did not taste anything of Vietnamese flavors. The service was fine. But the food should not be advertised as Vietnamese. I had com with thit heo nuong. It had steam cabbage, carrots, and broccoli. No nem ngọt but soy sauce. Thịt didn't have garlic or lemongrass flavors. Eggs rolls had cabbage. My husband had pho. Broth had a strange aftertaste and lukewarm in flavor. Uh... nope on flavor. WTF. We ate because we hungry but not because it was delicious. The food was not uneditable, just not Vietnamese. We've seen this place every time we drive by and we've always we need to try it so this time we did. It did not disappoint. As you walk in there is no horses you just find a seat and you can order right off the table on these little iPads. It was a neat experience. The waitress did come over and confirm our order which was good. The only thing is not all drinks are on the menu when you order. The computer showed only coke products but they had Pepsi. They have a combination meal that includes PHo soup, appetizer and a drink for $19.99. On this visit I got the chicken pho. I love it and it really was a good size for the price, I chose the potstickers as my appetizer and those were cooked just perfect too. My husband got the spicy beef noodle Pho and that was delicious and he chose the egg rolls as his appetizer. We love this place and will definitely be coming back for more. They have other dishes like pad Thai that looked so good. I definitely want to try that on our next visit. After weeks of passing by this place, I finally decided to stop in because I'm sick and in need of a nice hot broth. When you walk in, you can seat yourself & use an iPad to order off of. Choices are pretty interesting since it's a Vietnamese, Chinese and Korean fusion place it seems. The food takes ~15-20 minutes to get to you even when the interior isn't busy. I ordered a pho and spring rolls. Upon receiving them, I couldn't help but notice that the pork is literally over cooked bits of meat that is SO sparse and doesn't even cover the top of the spring roll. One of the weirdest rolls I have ever gotten and definitely not worth $8, the peanut sauce is also so bland, I wish it was a little sweeter. The pho is also quite bland and noodles were cooked a bit softer than I like. The portion size is alright for the price, but you only get one size when you order pho. Honestly, I wouldn't return here :( read more

It was busy and there was only one server., but she did a good job. The menu was available on a screen attached to the table, but too inconvenient to use for both of us. I used the one regular menu they had. The drunken noodles were very good! I had the beef pho, which was tasty. The spring roll was just ok. They are usually my favorite thing at any restaurant, not sure what was missing, but I didn't finish them. It was a bit dusty and the front counter decor was neglected, but I think that's good in a place like this. They clearly spend more time on quality food than decorating. read more

Stopped by this place to try it out and as soon as you walk in there a combo special in the front entrance window so I was sat down immediately did not wait long. The waitress was so polite and helpful, the place has a good Asian themed vibe. Came to try the combo and have to say it was a good deal. Big bowl of pho, a spring roll or egg roll, and a drink for 20 isn't bad at all. The soup was good, got the bowl with the tendon added. The spring roll was good only comes with 1 cut in half. The beef broth was very good and cleared the bowl. This is a good lunch break spot if you're close by. read more

Went here on a weekday lunch time. The server was fast and was able to give me a seat within a minute. I love pho and have tried many places for pho or Vietnamese restaurants. I really liked the taste of their pho and the portion was huge for 1 person; for that I can give it 5 stars :) However, the egg roll wasnt a fave of mine. I think it has less filling and im not sure if it's just veggies inside. Other than that, place was clean and ambiance was great. I used to live in Koreatown and was fortunate to be surrounded by deliscious Pho restaurants, since I moved to Bakersfield I found that Pho 88 has some of the best Pho and it reninds me of the ones in LA. My favorite is the meatballs and steak! As for my mother(my usual companion) she loves the fried rice with chicken and shrimp, its so delicious! Also, i just tried the Gyoza and they were crispy and oh so tasty! Highly recommend Pho 88! read more

We were tossed between a chain restaurant or a local one. If course. We opted for supporting the local business. We got there around 730... I wasn't paying attention to when they closed, so maybe this was my fault. We ordered our food.. as you can tell, it looks scrumptious. However, as I was face deep in noodles, the lady came over, brought my bill, and said we close in 5 mins. I ate as fast as I could, paid my bill, and asked my kids to pack their food.. and we left a little past 8. My stomach hurts now from eating too fast. So little advice, don't go there before they close. They'll remind you when they close. I probably won't go back here again. There's other pho places in town where I won't feel rushed to eat a meal. Great pho flavor but meat slices were too thick and hard to chew on. I ordered an order of 4 spring rolls and was disappointed when it was 2 spring rolls cut into 4 pieces and the meat quality tasted hard and old. I also think the pho was expensive for what it is considering I can get higher quality pho in LA for a lower price and higher volume. I would go here if I was really wanting pho and dont want to make the drive down to LA. read more

We have been ordering our lunch here for a while always order chicken pho which comes with oil if not its very bland. The owner forgot to put my oil which I could not eat my pho. I called to let him know he stated pho does not come with it and did not want to make it right he was very rude and hung up on me he just lost our office business we wont be returning. We got to the restaurant at 7:15. We were the third people in line. They only had one server they had tables with food on them that we weren't being cleared. We sat for 45 minutes. They sat at a table 2 minutes before they were closing the server came over and said oh sorry we're closed. You can't eat here now so we had to leave after seeing us and waiting 45 minutes and never told anybody and other people that were waiting. They turned them away too and they were sitting there for 30 minutes, horrible, horrible customer service that should never happen. read more

Ordered Pho Tai, Chin tonight for pickup on my way home from work. Getting over a cold so I was super excited for my favorite soup. Got home and the noodles were hard, vegetables were brown and mushy, and the lime was partially rotten. Theyre now closed so I had to thow away $15 of food and hope I don't get sick. (I noticed this after a few bites of the soup tasting off). Came here for the 2nd time and this visit was bad. Poor girl (server) was by herself and the place was packed. She did what she could and was working hard. But the issue was we ordered the PHO number 4 and 7 when it came out they must of ran out of PHO noodles cuz what we got was Vermicelli broken in pieces as the noodles. The difference in our soup is obvious cuz the noodles get soggy and thickness is different. The place tried to play dumb but people should know the difference when eating. read more

Well it's (kinda) that time of year...fall(?) I guess....Anyway, it hit a whooping 50-something degrees last night and I had a craving for some soup. My girls were freezing when I picked them up from practice so I immediately thought of pho. It was about 7:35ish when we arrived and there was a family seated inside, enjoying their meal immensely. We were greeted by the waitress and given a menu for takeout. I decided to get 3 seafood pho's for the hubby, child and I, complete with Shrimp, imitation crab and fish balls (no clue what they are either but I'll give 'em a try!) Once we got home and pulled everything from the bag I noticed our only casualty was one small container of some oil based, chili flake concoction. In the other containers were the pho noodles along with slices of limes, fresh sliced jalapeños, and fresh twigs of basil and then also the container of soup which had the shrimp, imitation crab, and those white, dense-looking fish balls! Once we took everything from the containers and placed it all into big bowls, we dug in! Me, being the tremendous mother that I am, let my child eat a fish ball first and tell me how it was! She shrugged her shoulders and said "good." Well, thanks for the enthusiasm child! Apprehensive, but never one to shy away from food, I bit into one. Not bad! I also bit into something that tasted like black licorice (yuck!) and promptly figured the only thing it could have been was the fresh basil. Overall we all enjoyed our soup. It had just the right amount of spice and I ended up really liking the fish balls. The restaurant is fairly small but we will come back and try it out one day. read more
