A huge menu list to pick from but i always seem to go for the # 21. I order with chicken rather than pork. As I wait I'm greeted with a little dish of peanuts and a sauce that Is sweet. I mix in the chilie oil to my desired heat level. As soon as I'm done my food arrives! After mixing in my sauce and peanut the first bite has me clawing away at my bowl, with chopsticks, trying to grab as much as I can hold on to and send that in the direction of my tongue begging for some more of those delicious flavors . If you want a soup then go to this restaurant. They offer other dishes too, but definitely I saw the majority of the tables having soups. I had the one with chicken, the broth was good. First time going there and it was nice. Located across the FIU campus, it was quiet when I got there about 1140am. Then eventually, the students came in and it got loud and busy....but for them thats a good thing. Menu was slightly confusing but was able to manage. I ordered the Rice Vermocelli with grilled chicken. Didnt know was to expect. No pictures available for this but I was expecting rice. It was white rice pasta. To my surprise it was delicious. I wish there were more chicken though. You were given a small bowl of peanuts and sauce. Didnt know what to do with them. My coworkers put them in their meals. I guess it's a thing but wasnt directed. I just watched my coworkers. Perhaps the waiter asks if this is my first time, and explain what to expect...that would be nice. Order taken on iPad seems like a great idea. Foods are referenced as number for the easy transition of ordering instead of attempting to say the names of some of these dishes. AMAZING VEGETARIAN PHO. Really good portion, price, quality, and taste. Vegetarian pho is hard to come by in Miami (if not impossible). This is not only the sole veggie pho in the city, but the BEST I have ever had anywhere. I lived in NYC before this, so I have tried many an overrated bowl, but this little Sweetwater gem is truly outstanding. Get the large for a few bucks more, and this amazing dinner will still only cost you $12. I ate the other half for lunch the next day and it was still amazing. Not quite sure what brought her to say that but the menu & food are exactly the same as the place in Davie which is already pretty good... The dining area does appear a bit more updated & cleaner and the service might be a smidge more attentive but the food is nearly identical and that is a good thing. Went today for lunch after a few co-workers suggested it and it turned out to be the best decision I've made all week. Friendly staff, quick service and most importantly INCREDIBLE Pho. We got an order of egg rolls for the table which were fresh and crispy. About 10 minutes later my #31 medium (it's a lot) got to the table piping hot and smelling like heaven. The broth was...WOW. This place is amazing! I had the vegetarian pho(#52) and my boyfriend had the vermicelli bowl with bbq pork and egg roll (#21). The food took no more than 5 minutes to get to us once we ordered, it was hot and fresh. The staff was friendly and all very helpful. We were in Miami for a 4-night Bahamas cruise and had our last meal here before boarding the flight back to DC. We arrived at around lunch time. Luckily we were seated right away despite the place being jam packed, and food came out about 15 mins later. I had a #33 pho, my family had #30, #26, and #36 (the seafood pho). The broth was awesome! We gobbled down our phos in no time. The portions of bean sprout, jalapeno, and lime slices given were very generous. Lots of scallion and cilantro in the broth, yum! The minor complaint I had was the meat - it was not as juicy as phos I had at other places. Squid in the seafood pho was a little chewy; I'm guessing they used frozen squid, not fresh squid - it was obvious from how it tasted. I can not rave about this place enough! I had never had Pho before, neither had my husband. They sat us down as soon as we arrived, which was great considering they were packed. Our waiter explained everything to us, he gave us recommendations on what we should have as first timers, what size of bowl to choose, everything! I was not disappointed. The egg rolls were delicious and are served with a nice sweet&sour sauce that pairs great with it. But of course, what we were most excited for was the Pho. I loved it! Pretty decent pho here but its good for miami standards i guess. Its not the best i ever had but its still good and hit the spot. My friends and people i know this is their go to pho spots. i guess there isnt much good ones around in the area of miami compared to this spot. I want to try other dishes but will keep you updated on that in the near future since i will be coming back. I am vietnamese myself. There is parking without pay unlike downtown. Kinda close to FIU. Also the prices here are really reasonable and decent so cant complain. Their service is very vast pace and will get your food out in a jiffy. I am digging pho 79...safe to say this, since it's my second time coming within 48hrs. My fellow foodie has been telling me to try this place out for a while now, and i dont know why it took me this long! The restaurant is located near FIU, in the Publix plaza. Easy to find parking spots right in front of the place. The staff are eager to welcome and immediately have a table for you. I basically knew what i was having, courtesy of my foodie friend, who knows me so well. I ordered the Vegetarian Pho, which brings tofu, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, daikon, and rice noodles. The garnishes are kinda awesome too, you get a large heap of thai basil, culantro, and bean sprouts, slices jalapenos, and lime wedges! I've also had the Tofu and Shrimp spring rolls, but in all honesty, it's already too much food! I've ordered the small soup, and that's hella big! This time around, we ordered the Lollicup drinks, one Taro and one Lychee w no milk..both were amazing! I highly recommend for you to come and check out this place. We came to Pho 79 because I had a craving for Vietnamese food. The place was very nice and very clean with a good aesthetic. We ordered a shrimp spring roll, a beef bowl, a seafood bowl, and a veggie bowl of soup. The spring roll had a great texture and contained rice, bean sprouts, and shrimp. It came with a sweet peanut sauce that added a great taste to go with the roll. The beef was paper-thin, tender, and cooked to perfection. The seafood bowl had a variety of seafood: shrimp, squid, scallops, etc. The veggie bowl had a similar variety of vegetables, including daikon. The soup bowls came with noodles and a dish of bean sprouts, cilantro, basil, and peppers. They all added a special kick to the soup, especially the peppers, which made it just slightly spicy. All in all, Pho 79 is a great place for Vietnamese food. I will definitely be coming back. read more
