Yelped for a pho restaurant in Miami during our stay and came across Pho 79. Restaurant looked clean and spacious with friendly staff. Service was excellent! As soon as we sat down water was brought to our table. For appetizer, we ordered spring rolls which came out right away. I was just a little disappointed with the sauce because it was a little bit too salty and I could taste fish sauce was a little in the heavy side. All of us ordered the special beef pho which came in 3 sizes. We ordered 2 medium and 1 large. The bowls did not disappoint!!! There was so much meat in each bowl that we could not finish it. Definitely go for the smaller size if you don't have a big stomach. Taste of the soup was very good also. Servers were always attentive and when we could not finish our spring roll, server handed us a container with the sauce already included. Tried Pho for the first time here and it was great! Superseded my expectations for what I thought it was going to be. We started with the egg rolls that came out very quick and a pot of the jasmine green tea which needed nothing but some honey and was absolutely perfect. My girlfriend had their chicken platter while I opted for a medium bowl of #31. None of the bowls come spicy at all as they have all you need in the table to put the spice to what you like. They give lime, bean sprouts, sliced jalapeños, and thai basil to add as you wish as well. Everything came out so quickly too! Although I know how to use chopsticks, multitasking with them and the spoon proved difficult at first but I was a pro by the bottom of the bowl. I was so excited walking into the restaurant. I actually deviated from where I was going when I saw the sign. I ordered number 35, chicken pho and Thai bubble tea. The pho was excellent in size and price, but the taste was nonexistent. The broth felt like it was just boiled water. I added and added toppings and sauces to see if it'll make up for it but to no avail . You can't replace good broth. Again portions were great, but no flavor. The Thai tea was average... no condense milk, however the bubba was great. Perfectly cooked tapioca pearls. I wish I could say I would return but it is unlikely. read more

I can't believe it took me this long to visit this restaurant. It's been on my list for quite some time and I finally had a chance to visit and I was extremely pleased. You sit down and they come and take your order. The service is extremely fast here which is always great and the options are extensive. My only concern was that upon placing my ordered both my friend and I ordered bubble tea and it was never brought, in fact, when we went to go pay, the cashier told us it wasn't put in. Sad to say but my experience wasn't really good here :( I had so many flies all around my table and on my food to the point where they even got into my pho, and it was just a very uncomfortable thing to deal with. The pho was okay too, although I also had other entrees such as the Korean bbq but it was all just fat to the point where I couldn't really eat anything, although the other ones were pretty good! Service was really good too, and I got the pho replaced and had it taken out of the bill, but it just kind of upsets me that I couldn't have a calm experience here eating without flies getting on my food and circling around the whole time where I had to try to swat them for more time than eating my food. The shrimp spring rolls were good but not the best so I will probably pass on them next time- for me they had a little too many noodles (but that's just personal preference). I love the fact that you have the option to add spices to it so that you can make it as spicy as you want. I add salt, siracha, jalapeños, and squeezed a little lime in it as well. I knew my coworkers would all order Pho, however, I had just eaten some of my mom's pho the week before and wanted banh xeo (Vietnamese crepe) but they didn't even have it on the menu. I was disappointed as this was the first Viet restaurant I've been to without this dish on their menu. I opted for pho and knew that it would taste mediocre compared to home and it is your average pho. My coworkers, on the other hand, loved it! I've only had Pho twice and my first time I was not that impressed. I decided to try it again at a new place and it completely changed my mind! We were quickly seated and served within minutes. Pho (Pronounced as "FUH") is something that destroys your hunger, cures a cold, enlightens the soul, and produces bliss. These soups are for everyone, even if you're not a soup person. This place sits you down in seconds, serves your steaming plates of Pho in seconds, and you inhale the bowl of soup, in seconds. While the décor is minimal, you come here for the Pho, and you always leave satisfied. I recently discovered this place, and I come here at least every other week, sometimes weekly, and it's always been a hit with me, and every individual I've brought there. I have been a repeat customer of this place for a while now. I love this place, it's clean, it's has a simple straight forward menu with focus on pho and it's also got great prices. Every table has various sauces and spices for adding to your pho and it's fun to try to find your personal best combination. I really want to give them a 4 star rating, however, I find that there is some inconsistency in the kitchen, some days my pho broth is better than others. I've tried to figure out why this is but I'm honestly unsure, perhaps different chefs on different days? My other note is about the service. Yes you will be asked to sit at a table and someone will come take your order, but please do not mistake this for standard service. The concept here is like a walk up counter, except they take your order at the table. Please make sure you order everything you want at the beginning because getting someone to add something later on, or even getting extra napkins later on will prove next to impossible. Even when you do manage to get someone's attention for extra napkins, you might not get them. And last but certainly not least, make sure you take it easy on the spicy toppings because you might potentially add too much and ruin your own soup. And the coco whip is delicious.
