I am a fan-- of the food and service. This place is a dump. Very simple. The booths are broken and sunk in as if they had a 600lb-er convention. The overall feel in this space just makes you think you might be in a Third World country. No lunch specials? Whats up with that Pho 65?? The Pho Food I did order was fantastic! I got the Shrimp rice Noodle Bowl. Lots of great tasting seasoned shrimp, plenty of rice noodles and loaded with healthy veggies. I asked my server about their "House Sauce" and it was explained to be kinda like Fish Sauce= ok? "What is Fish Sauce? No? Alright I'll just got with the Thai Peanut Sauce then." The owner brought my food and both sauces for me to try. (great service) They do have a $10 minimum for Credit Card purchases-- so take cash if you are dining alone. We ate here at around 1030am that could be the reason why not a lot of tables were filled. Just 2 others aside from ours. But one thing we did notice is that the table didn't have any garlic chili sauce on there. Which to me, that indicates that the Pho would be good. We were hungry so we tried anyways. My wife ordered the Rare Steak Pho and I ordered the Combination Pho. We also ordered the Durian Boba. The Boba came out first and we noticed that it didn't taste like Durian, almost like Mango. The server was kind enough to bring us something else. We ordered the Mango Boba and that tasted like Mango. The Pho came out quickly but we were again disappointed. The broth was not hot, more like luke warm. We always order the steak on the side and dip it in the broth to cook. So sadly we hardly touched our food. I think the time we got there was a factor in the warm broth, so I would like to give this place another chance. But maybe later because there are much better Pho places around. read more

Service was good. Pho was exceptional. The broth was particularly good  (can't have good pho without great broth!). Food came out fast, vibe was laid back. Prices were extremely reasonable. I got a small pho with shrimp and it was the perfect size. Medium is great if you're REALLY hungry and the large is ridiculously big. My boyfriend got a medium and couldn't finish it all. Some of the older reviews complain of small portions, but that doesn't seem to be an issue anymore from my experience. Overall, I was impressed. Will definitely be returning soon. Some of the negative reviews rag on the condition of the place. I didn't feel like it was dirty or grimey. It's certainly not fancy but has that kind of hole-in-the-wall feel. I don't really care how a place looks as long as there aren't rodents/bugs or obvious filth (which there wasn't). If you're looking for good pho and don't mind the modest setting, I'd say give this place a try! read more

This is one of the few places where I am a straight-up regular! When you just want something affordable, delicious and cleansing with no frills, this place always satisfies. I recommend the veggie pho but with beef broth (if you aren't vegetarian). The umami of the broth (which also has deep notes of clove, anise, and cinnamon) is more than enough richness--no additional meat required, imo! The spring rolls and Vietnamese coffees are bonus treats if you're rolling deep. read more

This is THE place to go for pho on the north side of I-70. And I would argue that it is considerably better than the majority of places on Federal! They've got really nice staff who is attentive most of the time... only complaint is that they could get better at filling up your water. I will admit, we do drink it pretty fast when the jalapeños start to impart their spice in the pho! Food is extremely fast to come out! Best spring rolls and their broth has a phenomenal sweet flavor to it - make sure you taste it before doctoring your soup up with Sriracha and hoisin. They have a wonderful Vietnamese coffee and many boba tea flavors to chose from as well. The wife and I eat here on an almost weekly basis. The two guys that seat us have our orders memorized and know us by name when we walk through the door. Whenever I have a bad experience at a Pho place I swear I can hear the sound of kittens crying. Well, maybe not that bad, but you get my drift. Pho is one of my favorite foods and I am always looking for the next best place. Unfortunately, Pho 65 will not be on my list. The bf and I were in Arvada doing some running around when we saw the sign for Pho 65. We parked in the back lot apparently, and had to walk up the stairs to the restaurant. When we arrived at the door we were greeted with a sign that said this was the back entrance and to walk through the restaurant to the main entrance. I can dig it. What I can't dig is the smell that we were greeted with upon entering. It was an off smell. Almost like an unclean smell. This should have been my first sign. Once we got to the front, we were seated promptly and the waiter took our orders quickly. We each got a boba smoothie, shared an order of spring rolls, and got two medium bowls of rare steak and brisket Pho. The boba was good and the spring rolls (although a tad chewy) were tasty. The Pho? Meeeeehhhh. The broth was seriously lacking in flavor even after I loaded it with all the veggies and sauces. This was really disappointing. Even more disappointing? The service! Once we got our food we never saw the waiter again. By the time we were ready to leave, we had to ring the service bell on the hostess stand multiple times before someone came out of the kitchen and said "are you ready to go?" Um...yes, Pho 65. I've moved on from Pho soup and am now a lover of the noodle bowls. Took my little brother here for a total of five of us. We each ordered the combination bowl 27B, I believe. It's ridiculously good and comes with one of their delicious egg rolls. My friend asked for white meat in here noodle and that's what she got. I may do that next time. Her chicken looked really good. Our waiter was really nice too, lots of smiles and we never had empty water glasses. The little bro had never eaten Vietnamese food and was mad at me for taking him somewhere so good. The biggest reason for my meh rating is that this place is so rundown; it looks kind of dirty, and I just feel grimy when I'm there. Having said that, the pho is probably closer to A-OK, and I tried a rice noodle bowl that was decent but definitely not the best I've ever had. The spring rolls we started with tasted off as well. Service is pretty ho-hum and I was kind of annoyed by the TV they have mounted on the wall showing stupid sitcoms. If I wanted to eat while watching TV, I can do that at home. I love me some Pho. If it were practical I might say I would eat Pho everyday. Pho 65 is great. Really good Pho at an amazing price. I enjoy the broth, very bright and flavorful, not too oily. Everything else I have ordered off the menu is consistent in flavor and I have never left hungry. Do I wish the Vietnamese egg rolls were in a different wrapper? Sure. After three days of 30 degree weather and subsisting on not so healthy food, this Houstonian was ready for a tasty bowl of pho. I found it at Pho 65. The layout of the restaurant is an "L." Kind of odd, in a oddly uninviting kinda of way. In fact when I visited, it was empty. Don't let this throw you. The food was awesome and very filling. Pho is the perfect soup for hangovers, sick days, and intemperate days. (Houstonian in non-90 degree weather, remember--I was chilled to the bone.) The pho hit the spot. The broth was tasty. I wasn't sure what to expect from this place, but we were definitely pleasantly surprised. A coworker and I stopped in this week for some pho but ended up ordering noodle bowls (combination) to go instead. We figured pho is never as good when you do it to-go, and that the noodle bowls would hold up better. We were not disappointed. Our bowls contained shrimp, chicken, beef, and an egg roll. Everything was well-seasoned and charred perfectly. Sweet, salty, and you could pick out some of the spices used in it- ginger and mint....mmm! It was the kind of goodness that sneaks up on you- we started out saying, "This is pretty good," then ,"this is really good," to (with empty plates), "that was REALLY good!" The prices were a bit higher than other pho places ($6.25 for a small pho bowl). They do have a "minimum $10" credit card purchase requirement, as well. read more

I really enjoyed the Honeydew boba tea, it's a treat getting that when I go out for pho. I had the eye of round, and brisket pho. It was good! The broth wasn't too salty at all. Time to update. This place is close enough to work that it's always a lunch candidate and it's become a regular on the rotation because they're really hitting their stride. I usually get the combination noodle bowl or pho, but I'm not the pho phreak, so I only get it when it's cold out. The noodle bowl is perfect. They really get the good sear on the meat and with some fish sauce and sriracha. Mmm... We went again during the recent mini-blizzard and since it was cold enough, I got pho. I don't remember the number, but I always get the one with the biggest variety, especially the yummy offal -- tripe, tendon. Man, what a wonderful surprise! As I told my fellow foodie lunchmate, they nailed it. The broth had that mouth watering spice blend where distinctive flavors blend into that indescribable melange. A moment of star anise disappears into the savory broth; the lime and culantro pop then defer to the umami of the brisket and tooth of the noodle. It was perfect. Pho 65 also has rice plates that I've never tried, but the non-foodies who sometimes tag along swear by them. I guess that's really a testimonial to the grilling. *Timeout!* [Rant] This is off-topic, but what up with lame-o's who think beef soup with noodles is somehow inedible because it's not "regular" food. I'll try anything and I've eaten some seriously weird and strangely wonderful stuff that I wouldn't knock anybody for leaving on the table. But I've been to pho with too many people who make a face before they even understand what's being offered. Maybe I'm just a curmudgeon, but if you're not a veg and you won't try beef soup, you're seriously lame. Stay at the office and eat your nasty microwave crap. Don't come to lunch and ruin my fsckin' meal.[\Rant] *Time in.* The only knock I've got for this place is that the menu is brief. Firstly, if you want A+ customer service and environment, go elsewhere. HOWEVER, if you don't care about that and just want some mouth-watering, high quality eats, don't drive past this restaurant! Like I said, the restaurant itself is pretty ugly, and the service is really bad, but the food makes everything better. I normally get the egg roll noodle bowl, and I am never disappointed. The portion is so large that I always split with my mother, and we still leave with massive food-bloat. The egg rolls are actually high quality, (I know it's actually pork and veggies inside), and the vegetables are crispy fresh! I would certainly recommend this place if you want to sit down, or take out, and just want some good old fashioned Vietnamese. I stopped in last week for luncho with an old homie to discuss life over a bowl of Pho. Ordered a large, rare steak + Meatball, I've not seen that combo offered in any other Pho house I've frequented and I'm not creative enough to come with it myself. The broth was good, a slightly different flavor than I'm used to, I think it had a touch more cinnamon then the folks at Pho 76. The steak was rare, and the meatball was pretty tasty. The Large Bowl seemed bigger than I remember from any pho joint, I ate through the full and finished the goods with some healthy dredging. I don't think I'll rock the large on my next visit. The gentleman waiting on us was at the register and his cell phone rang. The ring tone was "big girls don't cry". Thats just awesome. Word. read more

Hmmm. I think I really need to revisit this one. The wait staff was quiet but gracious, and restaurant-wise, there was nothing wrong with it. It was stunningly quiet except for the soap opera on the tv. The food was fine, not stellar, but nothing to complain about. It has me wondering if they were having a great day, a bad day, or if this is just the way it was. No amazingly sublime aromas, no unctuous meats, and really, no complaints. This is my favorite Vietnamese restaurant. Each time I come back, it seems like the food just gets better! 10/10 recommend this place to anyone. The mocha boba is perfect every time. Dropped in for a quick lunch today with a friend - nothing too much to write home about. The pho was pretty good - I had round eye steak, brisket and meatball version. It was all pretty standard for what I've tried around town. We also ordered the Vietnamese egg rolls. We ordered the fried version that you roll up with rice noodles and herbs in lettuce, then dip into the fish sauce. They pretty much sucked. It was like a fast food or frozen version of what you'd get over on federal. My friend had the bun (noodle bowl with egg rolls and all the same stuffings), and it fared as miserably. First off...the staff doesn't seem to have an excellent grasp of english, so that's a big reason why they seem so quiet. Now...the food. The Vietnamese Egg Rolls are wonderful. A big ol' heaping plate of lime, cilantro, sprouts, and something else...though I'm not remembering what it was at the moment. Anyway. The broth was yummy. It was like the more I ate, the more I wanted to eat. Which is...weird. I swear, it was like there was crack in that broth. I loved adding lime and sprouts and playing with it til I liked it better. I did, at one point, however add a bit too much lime. Thankfully, I was already full...and it looked like I hadn't touched the bowl. Portions are HUGE, beware. ;) Their iced tea...yuck. Incredible! My hubby and I have been a couple times before and loved it, but this last time just seemed better than ever! I got the combo bun (noodle bowl), and he had the combo com (rice plate) and both were absolutely out of this world delicious. We have also had the chicken pho and many flavors of smoothies with boba. This is my favorite of the many pho places for boba smoothies - they fill them to the top (no nasty whipped cream), the flavors are bold and authentic and the boba is perfect. The service is spotty, sometimes they are very attentive and sometimes you have to seek someone out, but the food is fast and sooooooo worth it!! read more

Love this place, had the #16 and another beef pho # I can't remember and both times were excellent. Haven't eaten in, I normally eat it for lunch (take out) and dinner (left overs) that day though. Wish it were closer to were I live but it is a great work lunch spot to get take out. Only downside was $10 min on cards as the large pho I got was 9.66 but they let me charge anyways. Updated: Ate in the other day after work and had a very enjoyable experience, the manager was very friendly and I tried the shrimp noodle bowl and worked on my laptop in a booth. Consistency is top notch and will keep me coming back. I think I have been here 10+ times and never had an incorrect order, been overcharged or had one single complaint about the place.
