Impromptu lunch with the hubby! We usually pick up to eat at home but decided we had time for a bite there. The owner is the chef and has always been very friendly. We actually had a moment to chat after our food was all served and it was very pleasant. Instead of the usual Hi, Thank you, See you soon. Everything is made from scratch and of course you can tell if you've had real Vietnamese food...not a restaurant where they are Chinese owned trying to sell Viet food. Forgot to take pictures as we were in the moment. Summer roll Spring rolls Pork bahn mi Beef bahn me 2 iced Vietnamese coffee The only complaint is the iced coffee is usually hit or miss depending on who makes it.

Best pho spot in Long Island! They have summer rolls, bánh mì sandwiches, pho, etc. It's located towards the back of the Boston Market off Hempstead Turnpike. You may not be able to see it from the road but if you pull in, you'll see it on the corner. I highly recommend their hot Vietnamese coffee and pho. It really hits the spot on a cold rainy day and you can actually see the coffee being made in a phin filter. It can be on the sweeter side due to the condensed milk but you can ask them to give you less if you prefer.

I was excited to try this place. It's down the road from one of my work yards. The reviews sounded promising...... and I truly hate to leave a bad review. Buuuut I'm not sure who has had other Pho as a reference but my Pho tasted nothing like pho. Very bland. And I asked for beef & tendon. I received 3 small pieces of tendon. The beef was ample. Noodles were broken but ok. Neither the hoisin or the sriracha helped. Then I wanted to order a Banh Mi with extra pate. But they informed me they don't have pate. Whaaat?! No pate?! That's like spaghetti & meatballs without the sauce. Who does that?! I understand if you don't want the pate and ask for it without. But to not have it at all?! Stunned! So I only left with Pho hoping it was worth the trip. Yeah, sorry I can't recommend nor will I be returning. 12-2-2021

This Vietnamese place is more like a take out place with a few small tables, not good for big groups. There was only one girl who served as both cashier and waitress. Unlike a traditional pho restaurant, this place has limited pho options. The portion of the pho is very small. We ordered the combination pho, two grilled pork phos and the pick-2, but none of us was full at the time we walked out of the restaurant. There were only a few slices of meat in my pick-2 pho, and they cut the grilled pork very tiny. The overall food quality was okay, just very small portion. Some of the utensils had oily marks on them. Big parking lot in the front.

Pho 34 is an appropriate name because I wanted to give it between 3 and 4 stars. We ordered summer rolls and spring rolls as apps and I had pho with meatballs and rib eye while my wife had pho with meatballs and brisket. The rolls were pretty good although the shrimp in the summer rolls were grilled, which is unusual but still tasted good and the peanut sauce was very good. The spring rolls were also very good but they need to give more of the fish sauce. We had to ration, which is never good. Note that they give you 4 spring rolls even though the picture on the window showed 3. The pho was ok although there is a strange and powerful minty flavor that is unusual. Some complained about the amount of meat and while it is far from generous, it was not ridiculous. Overall, there were small issues with all of the dishes but still solid.

Outside. It's in a strip mall.

I can't put into words how happy I am to have found this authentic little Vietnamese restaurant on Long Island, thanks to it being mentioned in Newsday. We were so excited to have Vietnamese food that we ordered a lot - Beef Banh Mi Sandwich, House Special Fried Rice, Pho Special Combination soup, Pho soup with meatballs. It is 4% cheaper if you pay cash/debit instead of credit card. Thanks to other reviewers I knew to ask for tendon and tripe to be added in the pho soup (they didn't have tripe but did have the tendon). For takeout the broth is in its own container, the noodles and meats are in a separate container, the sprouts/jalapeno etc are in a plastic bag, and then sriracha and hoisin sauce packets are included with the plastic spoons. The broth is phenomenal! The grilled pork with broken rice was cooked perfectly, marinated well and very tender. The fried spring rolls were also perfect. They come 2 or 4 per order - we ordered 6 pieces. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

    Excellent pho, flank meat

Place is nice and clean and excellent customer service from the girl working there. On a chilly night this Pho hit the spot!! Excellent pho with flank meat. Tasty and good size. There is hot sauce and hosin sauce to add if you like. Definitely come try it out.

PHO night! Good broth, good noodles, good meat! I added basil and lime. The husband added bean sprouts AND #sriracha like usual! Absolutely #nomnom #delicious #yum #yummy #loveit #sogood I also LOVE that the pho is always packed up properly with the broth being in one container, noodle and meat in a different container plus a bag of fresh basil, bean sprouts, lime and jalapeño! Not to mention good portion! Thanks to the husband for always helping me finish! #heart

What a disappointment; went in hoping to find a good Vietnamese place, left still hungry and with a much lighter wallet. The grilled pork and egg roll over vermicelli had about 1.5 oz. of pork and one tiny (and chewy) fried spring roll. No mint, no pickled vegetables, just a lot of bean sprouts, lettuce and noodles in a bowl, for $17.00. My partner's marinated tofu over rice was just pre-fried tofu from the supermarket marinated and laid over rice next to a slice of tomato and a couple of lettuce leaves - that was like $16.00. The summer rolls were terrible, again no mint or usual vegetables. Hard pass for the future, especially since really overpriced for the quality and portions.

The iced Vietnamese coffee is already premixed, but the hot version they give a side of the condensed milk so you can add as much or little you want. I tried their spring rolls which had a nice crisp bite. It was also served with pickled daikon and carrots for a nice refresher. For the entree I got the pho bo vein which had beef meatballs as the protein. The basil, jalapeño slices, bean sprouts and lime slice are on the side, so you can add as much to your liking. I did not notice until I was mostly complete with my sandwich, but luckily did not bite into the pepper before noticing the fuzz growing on it. However, you can clearly see the fuzzy pepper in the picture I took before digging in. I got the lunch special, which features a drink, app, and entree. The lemonade was nice and fresh tasting, the crispy wings were fantastic, and the banh mi was actually very tasty. Not the best I've had, but it was flavorful and the pickled veggies tasted fresh. I was very disappointed to find a moldy pepper, which ultimately ruined the experience for me. Hopefully, nothing I actually ate was bad, and this pepper was the only one that went missed in a kitchen check. I hate to turn folks away from a nice local spot with good tasting food, but I will never recommend a spot with moldy food.

Really homey feeling and typical of Vietnamese restaurants. The Noms: Pork and shrimp spring rolls- one of my favorite appetizers... generous portions of pork and shrimp, all neatly wrapped in rice paper. The peanut sauce is the best. I always order an extra serving Classic Banh mi- my husband and I always order two and they're very filling. It's not exactly like the Banh mis from California because the bread is not the same... but it's still very good and comes close. It definitely satisfies my craving while I'm waiting for my next trip home. Beef pho- I really enjoy their pho. It's good the broth is very flavorful.... In Cali, we have several different types of beef pho (dac biet, tai, gau, Bo vien, etc...) but this beef option has all of them mixed in along with some tripe (which I don't care for) so just make sure that you're aware of that and can adjust what kind of beef you want in your pho. In conclusion: I am happy to support this mom and pop shop and enjoy their food very much... while they are "cash only", they do accept Venmo/Zelle... I actually order delivery quite frequently to-go and have Billy saved in my Zelle account so that I could square away my bill and cut out Seamless and GrubHub, who take too much from struggling restaurants. Def recommend stopping by and enjoying authentic Vietnamese cuisine!

Park head in and do not park in the employee parking lot or else a ticket can cost you $75! Pho is one of my favorite food so I have pretty high standards, but low expectations for this place. Upon walking in, I was surprised to walk into an empty restaurant and the waiter greeted us and informed us that we could sit anywhere. I saw there were proper sauces (hoisin and Sriracha) on the table as well as stainless steel chopsticks and soup spoons! The waiter asked us our preference for water and handed us the menus. The menu is pretty condense with no drinks like Thai Iced Tea or anything. My friend and I shared an appetizer, the shrimp spring rolls. They were perfectly crispy and cooked. Wrap it with lettuce and dip into the fish sauce - it was perfection! I ordered a Normal Beef Pho and my friend ordered a beef banh mi. The pho comes in small, normal or x-large. My appetite is average and the normal was perfect size! The soup is well flavored and noodles perfectly textured, not too soft or hard. The meats needed a bit of work especially the meatballs. My friend enjoyed her banh mi and said it was sufficient enough to fill her up. The color of everything looked really good and I will probably try it next time! The restaurant accepts credit cards, but there is a 2.5% surcharge so cash preferred! There is also a one stall restroom, very clean and spacious. Great customers service and delicious food! Menu is pretty identical, a choice limited selection of hot soupy pho, banh mi, and bun dishes. It is a tiny little place, though there are seats available for dine-in. I do think they're smart for offering the "American" options like burgers and tenders so that you can accommodate for people who may be picky. We got summer rolls to share, and I had a small beef pho. I love that there are smaller and bigger size options available. They don't try to razz you up with bone marrow and premium beef cut options-- a combo beef pho with meatballs, flank, and brisket meat is the standard. I do like tripe when it is available, but I understand that's not a popular choice. The soup came hot and with the proper basket of sprouts, herbs, jalapeño and limes on the side. We also got a classic prok banh mi and it came with a ton of veggies and herbs (especially cilantro, which other places are now stingy with!) I didn't get to try, but I was told it was a good sandwich. The broth could have been a touch more beefy, but it was good enough to satisfy my stomach on a very windy day. Overall, I am glad Pho Xpress is maintaining a decently-priced Vietnamese joint at a time where it's becoming difficult to find anywhere decently priced. I want to try getting take-out soon.
