The pho this time around was very good but I'm giving a 3 star kindly because there was a long black hair in my spring roll, therefore I just threw them out and what a waste of money. Food here is okay. What I don't like is when I'm picking up my orders, the owner doesn't even bother to acknowledge me or as if I need help. I have to walk up to the front and let her know that I have an order order to be pick up and she waved at me likes "it's over there" and goes away. All I have to say is DAMN, this place makes some good pho! I am a pho-natic and live for pho as it's my all time favorite food. I've tried my share of pho in the Bay Area and Pho 24 will be my new pho spot. I ordered the house special pho and everything from the noodles to the broth were downright delicious. I can be quite picky about the noodle texture, but the texture of the noodles were spot on--not too under or overdone. It had a good amount of meat and the broth was delicious and not too oily. Not only that, but I ordered at the restaurant and the gentleman at the cashier told us to wait in our car and that he'll bring the food out to us and it was pouring outside! What can I say, this is a typical pho place that has really good food. I don't remember what I ordered but it had a good variety of meats. I remember the soup had a really good flavor. It was not too salty but did have enough complexity to make it interesting. I find myself trying to drink the soup but decided it was probably not a good idea. The noodle was good and the meats were fresh. As with any pho, you have to pay attention to the rare beef. You want to cook it just right and eat them before they get overcooked. However, this is easier said than done. I like to push my rare beef to the bottom to help them cook. By the end of the meal, I always forget that they are still there so they are now chewy. Like I said, this is really more my fault than anything else. The tripe was really crunchy and I liked them. The place is small so if you come during rush hour, expect to wait a bit before a table opens up. However, I have to say that the wait is well worth it so I'm coming back here again. read more

Came here for dinner and was pleasantly surprised to find that they offer (covid compliant!) indoor dining. We ordered their recommendations, the house special pho and the shaking beef. It was the right choice! The pho was delicious, fresh noodles and a rich, easy-to-drink broth. We got a large; it was more than enough food! The servings of beef were generous as well. The shaking beef was equally delicious, with the bell peppers seared to perfection. I loved the tomato rice with its garlicky kick, but I hear the beef goes well with plain white rice as well. I've been going to various pho restaurants in the bay area for 25 years both in San Francisco and San Jose and this is a solid choice Their wonton soup is probably the best I've had with an incredible amount of wontons plus lots of healthy vegetables, the one I get has no noodles but it has about 10 wontons in it ..my other go to dish is the pho Ga very well-made good amount of chicken and just perfect not too heavy the people working there are certainly pleasant and the service is fast. I had the seafood pho which was priced at $13.75 which I think was a bit too pricey for what I got the o Ku authentic piece of seafood in there was shrimp. This was our first time trying this place since everywhere else was closed late night. It was good but will probably not be my top choice next time. An update is well deserved for Pho 24, mainly because I discovered a dish I adore. The restaurant is dependable on many levels, food, service and hours of operation. It was a late evening and finding a place that was open became a challenge, especially when being particular about the cuisine. This time I strayed away from the pho section to explore their rice plates. Janet had her favorite and it was imperative to find mine. I noticed a photo on the menu that drew my attention like fireworks in a distant sky. It was the Com do Bo luc lac, a fillet mignon shaking beef cubes over tomato rice. Well, the meat wasn't cubed nor over rice, but more rectangular, and sitting next to the rice, to be critical. Of course this has little of significance. The generous portion of meat was tender with mild sweet seasoning, which was a perfect pair with the red and green peppers accompanying it. The tomato rice was equally sublime, and reminded me of Spanish rice. The presentation was inviting and visually pleasant. This is officially my go to dish when attraction to pho is spent. read more

Came by for lunch the other day and this was a surprisingly mediocre lunch. Restaurant is located between the Century and ToysRUs parking lot South of Valley Fair/Santana Row. Upon arrival, we were promptly seated in the sparkling clean restaurant. Started off with the egg rolls which were over-fried in not-so-fresh oil. Egg rolls at Vung Tau are much better. Moved on to the House Special Pho and to my surprise the soup came out lukewarm and had an odd aftertaste. The beef balls weren't fresh and some of the cuts of meat were over-cooked. Since the broth was lukewarm, the raw steak had trouble cooking in the soup... The noodles were all pre-made as they came out in a huge bunch...portions were decent... The Iced Vietnamese Coffee was a huge miss. It had raw sugar crystals in it?!? and was too sweet. .... I think they used too much condensed milk. ...other than a clean restaurant and big portions, I think I'll head back to E SJ for some real Vietnamese food! :D read more

I love consistency! Came back here for lunch with some friends this past weekend and enjoyed myself their Bun Tom Thit Ga (vermicelli noodles with shrimp and chicken). My bowl was ginormous!!! The shrimps they had in my meal were almost as big as the bowl. And the chicken was so tender, juicy and flavorful. I also had the lychee peach milk tea which was amaze balls as well. Everyone else at our table enjoyed their pho and drinks. Only reason why they still haven't gotten 5 stars from me is the fact that the food takes awhile to come out and the prices are kinda steep. Been wanting to try this place out for a long time, I finally got a round to it. The inside is on the smaller side and the decor fits. The lower parts of the wall and the seating are starting to show wear. The service is fast but sadly no smiles. I ordered a small Phò Gà (chicken soup) The broth tasted ok, I'm of the opinion that it is not made from chicken stock though. The amount of veggies and chicken is well..average, nothing that really makes it stand out (like this is my kind of place and the price point in my opinion is a little on the high side for the quality ) the table just had the typical Hussein sauce and Sriracha hot sauce, nothing more (I personally like the chilli oil with the seeds in it, or like in the more traditional places, the small Serrano style peppers.) Over all it is close to my house so if I'm feeling lazy or if I want a quick bite to eat on my walk to Santana Row I'll probably stop by and grab a bite. My roomates went about showing me this place the other evening and I was quite happy with the outcome! First off, the sizes here are really generous! I usually go for a medium or large size, but they only have to sizes, small and large, so I went for a small just incase I didn't like the food. The small size is pretty much a large size! It is a large deep bowl full of noodles and whatever else you choose. I went with beef, and was really quite happy with how much they gave me! The price at first may seem steep, but the place itself is really clean and nice, and the proportions are also really big! So in the long run, I figure it to be generous. They a whole vegetarian/vegan menu, being vegetarian myself I was quite impressed. The vegetarian pho was pretty good but not amazing. Wish they didn't skimp on the basil. This place is our family default when we want to grab something to eat fast without sacrificing the quality and taste. Both our kids love their Pho and the crispy Pork and Shrimp rolls.
