Middletown Main Street strip seems to mandate a very standardized unattractive look on the outside. However this small unassuming restaurant is a total find! You walk in to counter where you order and small unfancy tables but the food is solid portioned served fast and fresh at a great price! We did get the sense that they held back on the traditional Vietnamese spice. In our multi-day stay, Pho170 is a staple. Top picks for food portion and quality - garlic beef, spicy basil beef, etc. We had mixed opinions on their Vietnamese sandwich. Boba tea was ok but the flavors were bit limited and there are other nearby options for boba. Don't miss eating here for a happy, affordable and non greasy meal!

There are many similar restaurants along Main Street. There was nothing bad about this one, nothing good or great either. It is concerning when some of the bottles of condiments show having expired months and in one case years earlier. The server was friendly and the order was quick. Prices comparable to others.

Food is fantastic! I was a die hard Thai gardens fan but ever since the last few management changes it hasn't been the same but pho170 is easily replacing it. One down side is it's not as upscale of a restaurant from an interior and service perspective as TG was. But the food.... SUPERB

Great job!!! I'll definitely be back. I definitely recommend!! Reasonable prices and delicious food.

Beautiful, authentic, and delicious food. Get the fried dumplings. Get the beef & meatballs pho. Get iced coffee. And go absolutely off. Let Pho170 cradle your soul. It's always just what you needed. "I think you're gonna like it here".

I've been meaning to try Pho 170 for quite a while. Today I was craving pho and decided to drop in for take out. I had the chicken pho and it was extremely flavorful and delicious! This was the first time, but definitely not my last!!

Food is fabulous, authentic and reasonably priced by today's market! The owners are family and pleasant and efficient in their service of customers. Conveniently located and good parking access. Pad See Ew was delicious!

Wings were really really good. Super crunchy and goes great with the sweet chili sauce. Pho had good flavor. Does come with ginger if you don't like it. Portion size wasn't all that great and neither was the taste of the meat. Taro bubble tea had jelly in it and not tapioca balls. Also it was a cup mainly filled with ice. I wouldn't go back there for anything other than the wings.

This is a really good local pho place. I ordered the brisket pho and my husband ordered the combination pho. It was everything that we expected. I love the homemade chili sauce and I put it in my pho for a kick of spice. The spring rolls are pretty good too although next time I'll get the chicken. Only con: Small selection of bubble tea though, my husband wanted one but they didn't have what he wanted so we went to the Thai ice cream shop down the road instead.

Yum! This is the first time I've tried pho, so I don't know how it compares to other places, but it was very tasty. I tried the chicken pho and my partner had the brisket pho, both of which were really flavorful. We also got the crab rangoon. It was definitely one of the best crab rangoon I've ever had! I was a little surprised there weren't more options on the menu, but I was pleased with what I got. Our boba tea was sweeter than other bubble tea I've had in the past, but still quite good and refreshing. Next time I would like to try the smoothie version. The service at Pho 170 was quick (we did takeout) and the staff was friendly. I would return here!

Time and time again the best meal I've gotten in Middletown. Love sitting inside, dumplings were fresh and so perfectly crisp. I love their dipping sauce blend as well. Their Pho is hot, hearty, and so flavorful as it is, and they provide many free toppings and condiments. Their quality never wavers.

Came here on a lunch break one day to fulfill my Pho craving. Parking outside was a pain (have to pay to park). I sat at the bar, it took awhile for someone to realize I was there, and he wasn't the friendliest man, but it's ok, I just wanted some soup in my life! I ordered the rare beef pho soup. Came with the side of fix-Ins minus the jalapeño, wah. Was served with a tiny side of sriracha and hoisin sauce which of course I had to ask for more and got another tiny side. Overall, the soup was decent. Oh yea, and The noodles were a different type of thicker noodle which was a nice change for pho soup, I actually really liked it! If I was in the area and wanted Pho, I would stop again, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get it.

So this was my first time trying a vegan restaurant .. which was recommend to me by my friend …read more I will say I'm not vegan and neither is my husband but I wanted to bring my mom and sister who are vegetarian for a nice family dinner . And I am so glad I did ! The food was amazing , the owner is so sweet we got to meet her and she told us her story about wanting to have her own restaurant since forever ! So they normally have a regular menu however they do offer vegan hot pot with a reservation which I highly recommend because it was amazing !!! We tried all the vegan food ( vegan duck , vegan chicken , tofu , fried tofu ) . Which was really good because if you have never tried vegan food before this allowed you the option to try all the different protein options and see which you liked rather than ordering a single dish . And considering I'm not vegan and my husband loves meat a lot ... we still enjoyed ourselves, all the food was delicious and filling ! My favourite was the vegan duck and the fried tofu and the spicy curry ( highly recommend) Even the dessert which was a Oreo and banana pudding was delicious. Overall 10/10 great food , great location and atmosphere, great staff ! I highly recommend even if your a meat lover to go give it a try ... and you might be pleasantly surprised ( I was ) and I will definitely be back to try some more dishes !

Merely peckish, we didn't order as much as we ordinarily would have. However, what we did order hit the spot, and resoundingly so. We ordered one cup of tom yum with coconut milk, one cup of tom yum with clear broth, spring rolls, and chive patties. The tom yum with coconut milk was almost like a curry: very filling and creamy. The tom yum with clear broth was spicy, with every sip bursting with flavour. The portions were absolutely gigantic, and we had plenty left over. The spring rolls were perfectly hot and perfectly crispy. The filling was also delicious. The chive patties were also fried to a crisp, and were my favourite item on the menu. The food took a relatively long time to come, but service was very friendly. The ambiance was warm, with some interesting East Asian artwork. I'm always excited about all-vegan places, just because I can eat everything listen on the menu and don't have to parse carefully to figure out what I can consume. Simultaneously, I hold these establishments to high standards: such restaurants need to be truly exceptional to thrive. My dining partner and I were delighted with our experience at Aroy, and hope to return when we're next in Connecticut.

The green curry beef noodle dish was huge and delicious with the right amount of spice. Unassuming simplicity inside with more take-away orders than diners, it seemed. But dining area was nice. Food- spring rolls are always good. However, I will say my go to is generally the pad Thai. Sometimes it is spot on and other times it almost tastes like there are different cooks, and it where it tastes like it came from a wok that is too hot/singed flavor and the right flavors just aren't there. I did notice they changed to more biodegrading to go products which is nice though! My family member got the Massaman Currt and reported it was not as good as usual, this time around it was very soupy with minimal spice. I've never eaten inside but this looks like a small hole in the wall spot from the outside , it is very quaint. It is BYOB with a package store in the same plaza. Offers your traditional Thai fare with Laotian dishes as well. It has a mixture of Southeast Asian cuisine (Thai, Laos, Vietnamese). How do I know? Well, I'm Laotian. I may a bit of harsh critic due to eating authentic Lao/Thai food my entire life. Got the beef pho with all the fixings minus the rice noodles. Without the rice noodles it still cost the same so I should've just asked for it on the side. It was okay. 5/10 Chicken laab was decent but lacked authentic bit of flavor. They told us they could make pork laab but if you look at my two photos, they look identical. The "pork laab" tasted like bacon. It seemed like they just cooked the ground chicken in bacon grease and called it pork. I did tell the chef it was greasy and my thoughts and her response was, "It's pork, of course it's greasy." Okay, but you cooked it in bacon grease and tried to fool me. Pork laab 1/10. Chicken 3/10. Papaya salad cones Thai or Lao style. I asked for Lao style because I want the extra fermented fish sauce funk that I love. It had some shredded carrots and medium spice was great for me. They served it with ice berg lettuce wedge but I asked for cabbage (authentic way to eat it). Flavor was good. 6/10 Seafood rad Ma (lad na) was mediocre. Bay scallops and calamari were overcooked. Flavor lacked and was bland, even after I dressed it up. Shrimp was cooked perfectly. I prefer no muscles but there was plenty and only Chinese broccoli as the only vegetable in the dish. It would've been nice to see carrots in it too. 4/10. I ordered two identical dishes of this and I was charged two different prices; $18 & $19. Look at your receipt! The star of the show was the beef jerky and fried chicken wings! They were phenomenal and I'd probably only order the two apps with sticky rice again. 10/10 Ambiance is great. The veggie rolls were unremarkable (as most are) but the peanut sauce that came with them was quite tasty. The portion size of the pad thai noodles was enormous. The tofu was well flavoured and moist. The noodles themselves were a bit bland and needed more of a kick (something that one could accomplish with the Sriracha on the table). The eggplant dish was full of veggies, which I appreciated greatly, but was overly oily and underflavored. The rice that came with the stir fry was perfectly cooked. The ambiance was lovely, replete with "lush" vegetation and some bamboo ornaments. The restroom was also clean and well-maintained, sadly uncommon in this part of New England. Service was good. The waitress was pleasant and the food came out quite quickly. Overall, it is highly unlikely that I will return, because there are certainly better restaurants if one were to travel a bit further to Middletown. This is however a good option in the Rocky Hill area.
