Every time I have a good Vietnamese coffee, the coffee shop is always nestled in the most obscure places. Phin is kinda off the radar which makes it annoying to get to but you're rewarded with a chill and relaxed shop that isn't too crowded. The shop is decorated with Vietnamese touches mixed with a splash of colorful modern. The space is supplemented by board/card games which can be really fun for a group of friends who want to enjoy a table game with their coffee. There is also a restroom so you can stay as long as you want. The pandan latte and the coconut coffee were really good. The pandan latte tasted distinctly of pandan and was perfectly balanced by the Vietnamese coffee. The coconut coffee was almost like a coconut coffee slush but still distinctly tasted like coffee. This made up for the somewhat standoff-ish service which is probably attributed to the owner's reserved nature rather than him actively being rude. As a snack, my partner and I also got the pandan waffle to share which was nice and crispy while having that satisfying chewy mochi texture. Taste-wise, it was a little lacking and tasted less like pandan and more like dough. TLDR; Phin is in the middle of nowhere but has good Vietnamese coffee and decent vibes.
Phin is this cool little Vietnamese coffee shop! Inside there's a great vibe and the staff are very pleasant. I dared the Sữa Đá which is an iced Vietnamese coffee and Mrs. E. tried the Wintermelon green tea. The coffee was a little sweet for me, but overall, a tasty drink and a nice compliment to my Pandan waffle. We asked for a cup of ice for the tea (that's the way she prefers it) which I feel diluted and ruined the drink. Mrs. E. seemed to enjoy it, regardless. Yay! It's pretty comfy for a trendy coffee shoppe. First time I've seen a coffee shoppe that takes reservations! They serve a pretty good flan, too! 05/25
Small little place with decor that reminds me of Vietnam culture. Also has many children book talking about tales within the culture as well. A few couches there and some chairs. Service could be slow if there's a lot of people as it seems there's only one person working. However, one drink was messed up and he was glad to fix it still no charge which is good. Off to the food review. 4/5 - Viet Iced Coffee - Very strong with a good amount of sweetness to balance the strength/bitterness of the coffee. Just what i was looking for in general with a coffee drink. Just a warning for non-viet coffee drinkers, its usually very strong and sweet, quite intense and if thats too much i don't recommend ordering it. 3.5/5 - Pandan Waffle - This was quite crispy but due to it being in powder form (sold in front of counter) I wished it had actual coconut pieces in it and tasted more fresh. A little bit too air-y and it seem it lost the fluffiness of the waffle and just some has crisp ends.
There isn't any coffee places I've been to that could make a yogurt coffee better than Phin in Seattle. I've been here since they first opened around COVID-19 and they never disappointed me once. Every coffee drinks is made fresh upon order. Their waffle is fluffy in the middle and crispy on edge, very fulfilling. Besides coffee, their soda drink is also really refreshing and a good choice when you want something different. The store is operated solely by one guy and he has been there since the beginning. I've never had to wait too long to get my drinks even when the shop got busy. Ambiance replicates really well the Vietnamese culture but also has some special touches to it. It's one of a kind than other coffee shops in the area.
I normally I get coconut coffee but I like the blended type not the coconut cream type. Pandan and black sesame seems to be a regular item on the menu at most I love to check out trendy coffee shops when I'm out of town. Have never seen yogurt coffee, not even in Orange County, CA and decided to try that. I knew it would be a gamble because I do not like the tarty sour flavor of Vietnamese yogurt. My first sip and immediate reaction, I did not like. Definitely that wiff of sour tartness shot up my nose. Not to mention the semi thickness texture. As I took another sip, I'm starting to like it. It's tolerable but I wouldn't get it again. It was well balanced with coffee and condense milk. The coffee was on the stronger side. So much culture in this cafe. Tons of cultural books both for adults and children.
This cafe is a bit tucked away from the other food spots in Chinatown. The interior has nice wall decor and aesthetics. FYI: the coffee flan is no longer available. As of 2/2/2025, the only food options are waffles or noodles. I ordered the iced pandan latte and pandan waffle. Pandan waffle: crispy, light, and perfectly sweet. I devoured it and would absolutely order it again. Pandan latte: I got this with the default settings (regular ice, sugar, and dairy milk). It was loaded with ice, so I'd ask for less next time. That said, the ice quality was surprisingly good--it took several hours to melt, whereas other cafes' ice melts in less than 20 minutes. The sweetness was just right; the drink wasn't overly sweet at all. I'll definitely be back to reorder these or try something new!
Whenever I need a quick caffeine boost, Phin in Little Saigon has always been a great visit! They're located right by the I-5 underpass off of Jackson Street and 10th Ave, under the Thai Binh Apartments building. Phin specializes in phin drip Vietnamese coffee. While the Vietnamese coffee game is STRONG in Seattle these days, Phin's coffee is stronger! If you're looking for a caffeine kick that has a strong taste then Phin is the place to go! They don't offer a lot of flavors or cream tops like other Vietnamese coffeeshops in the city, but they definitely make up their quantity for their quality. My most recent visit I tried my favorite Vietnamese coffee combo, the black sesame cream Vietnamese coffee! The nutty-ness from the black sesame gave for a sweet earthy flavor profile, mixed with a smooth drip coffee. Can't beat it! I've also had their pandan waffles too, and they're some of the most delicious waffles I've ever had! The interiors are also well-decorated, making me feel like I am visiting a cafe straight from Vietnam. It's a small but calm space perfect for meeting up with friends over a coffee. The owner Bảo is also very kind and runs the whole shop himself. Pay a visit the next time you're in Little Saigon, Seattle!
After coming back from Vietnam, I have been reluctant to try the vietnamese coffee shops in the states fearing they would not be as authentic, but Phin hit the spot. It's one of the first places I have found that has both the yogurt coffee and salted cream coffee that is at all the coffee shops in Vietnam, and they were both so delicious without being too sweet! -Salted cream coffee (5/5): had the perfect balance of sweet and salty which made the drink more well-rounded and balanced, while still tasting refreshing -Yogurt coffee (5/5): unlike any yogurt coffee I tried in Vietnam and it definitely grew on me more as I drank it, but is more tart in taste without being too thick. Would definitely come back!
Came here for the Phê x Phin popup and was not disappointed. My girlfriend had been seeing the viral banana pudding matchas on social media so we were excited to try it out. We ordered Banana Pudding Matcha Latte and the Banana Pudding Hojicha Latte and both were delicious. The matcha and hojicha on their own were really flavorful and tasted high-quality, not too bitter or watered down. Paired with the banana pudding, the drinks had the perfect amount of sweetness and it was not overpowering at all. Definitely some of the best matcha and hojicha I've had in Seattle, these did not disappoint. The ambiance was pretty cozy and felt especially nice today since it was raining. There is limited seating however so be prepared if you can't get a place to sit down. This popup was a great experience and I'm looking forward to coming back to try Phin's drinks. This coffee place is a small shop in an apartment building. The coffee shop has a selection of books by Vietnamese authors, one of which I purchased myself within the past year. Service does take longer given one person staffing the coffee shop the day I went. I will be back to try the waffles. Coffee was not overly sweet like some Vietnamese shops have with the condensed milk. Taste was more coffee than artificial flavoring. I will definitely be back for coffee. I did appreciate the cup not having mostly ice.
- cute little shop with authentic Viet coffee - We stopped by here and got a large iced viet milk coffee with oat milk to share. I like how there is no extra cost for the milk substitution. The coffee has an interesting aftertaste, but it tastes authentic like what we've tasted in Vietnam. It's still a bit too sweet for me due to the condensed milk, but I like how I need to try very hard to taste the oat milk (in other words, the milk got overpowered by the coffee, which is a desirable condition(?)). The shop also sells pastries and other stuff, but we were super full and didn't try anything else. I like the decor and it's quite cozy, and they have tons of houseplants like hoya, spider plants, monstera deliciosa, satin pothos.. but I gotta say some of them are lacking a good pole for support or sufficient light for better growth. They also have tons of books, and it's my first time to see Doraemon manga in Vietnamese. Overall it's a lovely stop for a quick break, but I guess the service could be slow as it's operated by one person.
Yessss. Good, strong, quality vietnamese coffee. They have pandan, coconut, yogurt, salt cream flavored and more. Their signature vietnamese coffee waffle and pandan waffle powder mix can also be bought here. Limited seating with tables too low for working and there's no wifi, so this is more of a pit-stop-with-a-friend place. (Update as of May: there's now a long table with a few seats) Haven't been to this part of Chinatown, on the other side of the freeway, and it's a lot less sketchier with more upscale businesses. The people who live above this shop are so lucky.

One of my favorite Vietnamese coffee shops in the ID. I love introducing friends to it and was able to bring a new friend here yesterday. Everything is a labor of love here. House made almost everything and sustainable on top of it! I have been slowly making my through the list of items offered. I got to try two items I've been wanting to get for awhile the flan with coffee ice and chanh muối (salted limesoda) house made salted limes in a fizzy refreshing soda. The soda was refreshing and was like lime soda with a bit of li hing. Flan is not usually my go to dessert, but can't rave enough about this dish. I think its the contrast in textures and flavor of the coffee ice. One of the reasons I love this place, I feel like the experience is just as wonderful as their products. Because the Vietnamese coffee is made using phin it takes a little longer, and it makes you take a breathe and relax a bit. I am such a sucker for a good Vietnamese coffee. We're talking the type of coffee that electrifies your veins the second a drop hits your tongue and rids your body of any previous tiredness. The kind that punches you in the face with its strength and boldness. The kind of coffee that makes any other non-Vietnamese coffee taste like a weak tea. I'll take that straight to the veins at any opportunity, please and thank you. All this to say that Phin was far and away my favorite coffee that I had on our 4-day Seattle trip. And trust, we drank a lot of coffee. The cà phê sữa exceeded every expectation I had for it and was the perfect afternoon pick me up I needed. It was so strong and so good, with the delightful condensed milk bringing the perfect creaminess and sweetness to it without overshadowing the taste of the coffee. And on top of that, they had a pandan waffle?! Really checking off all of my boxes here. Pandan waffles are one of my favorite sweets but I almost never get to have them, so I was practically giddy with excitement. It was hot and crispy on the outside and so perfectly chewy on the inside and had such a good pandan flavor. The Vietnamese coffee here is STRONG. VERY STRONG. Coming from a guy that doesn't drink coffee for almost a year, this coffee did me well for 16+ hours even though they added a lot of ice to the cup (hence the coffee is only 6oz for hot but 12oz for cold, but they give the same amount for either choice). But it's really flavorful and sweet. The pandan waffle seems to be a popular choice here as well so I went all out on the sweets and wasn't disappointed. Note that this is a local family shop so the setting is a bit modest on one side, but with an elegant contrast of the sign and various Vietnamese books on the other side to cater to the people that like to take food pics. Do take note that because there's only 2 people running the place, don't expect a quick coffee run - plan at least 30 min, and in such covid situations would not dock a star just cause of understaffing. This seems to be a local's favorite - the owners enjoy experimenting with new drinks etc from customers, if you wish to try that out. Upon entering, I could immediately smell the lovely aroma of the Vietnamese coffee and the pandan waffles. This place was decorated beautifully with plants, books, and great seating. When ordering, the workers were so kind and patient as I decided what I wanted to order. Everything looked delicious and I ended up getting the pandan waffle (which is made with pandan leaves which gives it that green tint). I then waited in a comfy chair and found myself looking at the books they had. They were all children's and poetry books written and illustrated by AAPI (Asian American and Pacific Islander) writers and illustrators!! I thought this was wonderful and I didn't hesitate to flip through the pages of all the books. This was a great way to wait for my order. Once they called my name, I went up and received a fresh pandan waffle which was warm and had a little crunch to it which I loved. I wish I went and purchased another one since it was so good! Next time if I'm in town i will definitely buy more. They're also affordable and according to my friends, their homemade yogurt and coffee were great too! I don't drink coffee, but I've become a regular at Phin thanks to their addicting pandan waffles. They are crispy on the outside, chewier than your average waffle on the inside (like a mochi waffle and bubble waffle had a baby), not too sweet, and the pandan flavor is perfection. They may look unassuming but are a must try if you make a stop to Phin, especially because I can't think of any other place that serves up pandan waffles like they do. I tried their egg soda during my first visit. I was underwhelmed by the drink because it just tasted like a lightly sweetened soda and I don't think the egg contributes anything to the flavor or consistency of the beverage. They have a very limited menu, but I appreciate that they occasionally roll out with new items to try. If you need a reason to come here, do it for the pandan waffles. Parking can be a challenge because it's street parking only, but the pandan waffles are worth it. read more
With Vietnamese coffee being increasingly popular,I decided to check this place out. I heard a lot of good things about it but not entirely sure what the hype is... The store itself is pretty small but very cute, it has a lot of decors and was very Instagramable. We ordered the Vietnamese coffee and a panda waffle. For $5, the Vietnamese coffee was not worth it at all. It was an 8oz cup and my husband couldn't even taste anything special about the coffee. The panda waffle was ok for me as well. It's crispy on the outside and chewy soft on the inside and has a very subtle hint of panda. I feel like bambu makes it better though. So, for $10, we got one small drink and one waffle = a very light breakfast. It was good to try, but not sure I'll be back. read more

This cafe is one of the only places to order Salted Plum Soda (xí muội) in Seattle. This Vietnamese drink is my favorite, but difficult to find on restaurant menus. So I was very excited to see it on Phin's menu. The Salted Plum Soda was refreshing, but I would've liked more plum flavor and soda, instead of ice. I think the ice and water diluted the flavor. Perhaps, an option to customize this drink could be added in the future? My friend ordered the Yogurt Coffee, which looked and sounded interesting to me. I think it may be a refined taste for some people, but seems to be a popular drink on the menu! I also ordered the Pandan Waffle, which was soft and crunchy in the right places. During this week that I visited Phin, they were giving out free samples of their homemade condensed milk and encouraged me to try it with the Pandan Waffle. The condensed milk was great, but made the waffle a little too sweet, but both were wonderful on their own! During this COVID-19 pandemic, indoor dining is closed, but I look forward to the day I can sit in the cafe because the interior is beautifully decorated. Phin resides in the same building that houses both the newly developed Thai Binh Apartments and Phnom Penh Noodle House. I'm very happy to see Phin join this neighborhood to balance out the saturation of bubble tea places in the Chinatown-International District. Like Coffeeholic House in Columbia City, I hope Phin grows in popularity! Next time I visit, I look forward to trying their treats: flan with coffee ice and Vietnamese yogurt (da ua)! read more

I especially love their pandan waffles, they are so crispy on the exterior and slightly chewy on the inside! I think they probably use tapioca flour for the waffles. Looking for an authentic Vietnamese style coffee? Look no further. Located right in Seattle Little Saigon. It was refreshing to get yummy Vietnamese snacks and coffee on a sunny autumn day instead of our usual bubble tea. Our favorites: coconut pan-dan waffle, coffee flan, and Classic Vietnamese coffee. The flan is velvety smooth and fresh. You get a surprise taste of coffee on top of its sweetness The crunchy Waffle is a must. You don't get sick of it or feel guilty about the carbs because it's so crunchy yet chewy and light tasting. We like that they are environmentally conscious and use compostable cups The decor makes you feel nostalgic for Vietnam in the the old days. Glad we got a taste during their soft openings. Tasty, no frills, Vietnamese coffee. Vietnamese coffee has "taken off" over the past couple of years in the Seattle area with so many spots opening up with the tasty offerings. Each place has their own unique take and you can't go wrong with visiting any of them. Phin has some delicious classics and also has some fun treats with a twist. We ordered the pandan waffle (tasty), the flan w/ coffee ice chips (a crowd favorite amongst the 3 of us visiting), and a couple of drinks. My husband's brother was the one that ordered two different drinks (I can't remember what they were) but he loved them both. My husband is Vietnamese and when his family has been in town to visit...some other coffeeshops were a bit "too much" for them even though we loved them - or too sweet for them. Phin may be just the right spot to bring the family in town during their next visit! read more

Pandan Waffle was perfectly crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside. Could use a stronger Pandan flavor, but it's hard to find good Pandan syrup. Their black iced coffee (ca phe den da) was not great. It seems like they treat it almost like an americano where they add water to the coffee after its been brewed. We wanted to go somewhere for coffee this morning and decided to try some place 'new to us' which lead us here. The coffee shop is small with around 4 tables, lots of plants and a warm welcoming vibe. There is a small counter up front in which you place your order or go to collect your online order. Never having gone here before, we were not sure how crowded it would be so we placed an online order. We arrived ~5 mins after the 'expected ready' time and they had not realized or confirmed our order. Luckily for us, they told us 3 minutes and the order was ready. It was fast and friendly service. We ordered the: trà ô long (Yogurt Coffee) da ua (Vietnamese Yogurt) trà ô long (Oolong Tea) My favorite was the trà ô long. It had a nice rich vietnamese coffee taste with a tangy creamy flavor provided by the yogurt. I think for this item only it would be a must try if you are into trying new coffee places and go here. The da ua by itself was disappointing but that could have been my own expectations for it not to taste like grocery store yogurt. I even had my fiance try it and he said the same. This is something I would skip for next time. As for the Oolong Tea, my fiance said it was very very nice. I didn't get to try it he finished it so quick but sounds like a winner. read more
You give me a good Vietnamese coffee and I'm a happy gal! I was so excited for Phin's opening and they really delivered on all of my expectations and more. I'm sure we've all experienced that signature potent cup of Vietnamese coffee at the local Vietnamese restaurant, except this is such a new, refreshing twist. Phin's owners pride themselves in creating an experience in their space, hence the name, Vietnamese coffee and etc. They focus on sustainability and culture, and I believe their food and drinks truly represent that practice. Some of the really memorable items I tried are: Yogurt Coffee - iced coffee layered over yogurt. Surprisingly refreshing and the tanginess lends itself to compliment the strong coffee, don't sleep on this item! Vietnamese Coffee - what more can I say? Strong, not overly sweet, plus they use their housemade condensed milk, which really makes a difference imo. A must-try! Pandan Waffle - this is solidly the best thing on the menu. Dare I say, even more than the coffee? It was the perfect combination of texture and taste, crispy on the outside and soft/chewy on the inside. For $5, it's a steal. Flan w/ Ice Chips - the iced coffee topping pairs so well to combat the slightly sweet and soft flan. I'm a flan :) To sum things up, I really enjoy Phin. It has so much to offer for the community and will be a personal staple that I support. read more

After seeing some friends post of this place, I knew I had to check it out when I'm in the area. So hubby and I ventured out here. It's located in the Thai Binh building. We tried the cafe sua da and cafe sua chua. I never had it before. I love Vietnamese yogurt and what an interesting combination with coffee. It has a sweet, tart and bitter taste of coffee. Definitely a treat. I think my taste buds were in for a little shock, like it didn't know what to expect. Which is a good thing. I would be back if I'm in the area. My friend J introduced me to Bao when I visited Seattle. We're both Vietnamese, so the bond naturally formed. He shared his story of starting Phin, the joys and challenges over the years, and his remarkable passion for the Vietnamese community in Seattle. When I walked in his shop, the decor, drinks, and demeanor brought to to fond memories of my grandma, grandpa, mother, and father during my childhood. Plus, he offered me nước mát - a common Vietnamese iced tea made from artichoke (atisô) and pandan leaves (lá dua). Phin's space and offerings exhibit a rarified graciousness that'll connect you to the Vietnamese people. I consider Bao a friend and I cannot wait to visit Seattle again. My boyfriend got a coffee and we also got two waffles, and the waffles are SO good! They are also vegan which is great considering I'm allergic to dairy. We will definitely be coming back for those in the future. My boyfriend also really liked his coffee. The employees were really nice and the inside of this place is super cute! read more

Great little coffee spot in Little Saigon. You get to watch the workers brew the coffee using a Vietnamese phin right in front of you! The worker was nice and easy to talk to about the coffee and Vietnamese naming (we talk about sua chua vs da ua lol) I got the yogurt coffee and enjoyed it. It adds a nice creamy, tang to the coffee where creamer or milk can't do. I def recommend trying that if you've never had that. I'll be back to try a pandan waffle next time read more
Covid openings! Gotta love them al. And so far I do. This cute little is another covid opening and it's unique. Vietnamese coffee and treats. Focusing just on that! Pretty cool right? I love cafe du monde , strong espresso and I love phin filter. So this place already won in that sense but they have unique offerings! Coffee flan, yogurt coffee! My pandan waffle was Delish! Decor was cute even for a takeout. And the delicious coffee. I got it ice cause I like it cold but they have it hot as well. ( secret menu item) My barista use the shaker to shake my coffee/ fun! I can have that waffle and coffee combo all day! Yumm Yumm. Only wish they open later than 4 pm. But hopefully soon!! And the flan has coffee ice. How cool is that? Always on the look out for specialty coffee shops and this one is to check out! I was VERY hesitant on yogurt coffee (hah?). I first thought it was some Yakult dumped in iced coffee, but instead it seems like they use homemade yogurt! Vietnamese style I believe (not exactly as thick as your basic yogurt, but thicker than Yakult). It made the coffee oh so creamy, but confusing at the same time. It's something you should try for yourself to see! Pandan waffle: she was thicc. But so crispy on the outside but chewy mochi like on the inside. Good to share with at least one other person. Made fresh to order. They also have an online website so you can order ahead! Also the shop decor is something to look in awe when you get there. read more
Wanting to try new coffee spots I decided to try this place for the first time. We got the mocha, yogurt, milk coffee all iced. Service was friendly. There is only parallel parking around the block. The troops itself we're OK, had better but I miss coffee. The drinks had a little bit too much ice, perfect sweetness, not bitter at all however not much coffee taste in these three drinks. read more

Stopped by this morning and tried the Sua Chua (Yogurt Coffee) and I must say it's addicting! Grabbed some hot and fresh pandan waffles, Vietnamese yogurt, and flan with coffee ice chips. The decor reminds me of a cafe shops in Vietnam. Friendly staff, clean shop, fast friendly service. Excited to try out their other coffee and menu items! The pandan waffles was soft n chewy and just the right sweetness. Can order online ahead for quick pick up. Street parking . No sit down just takeout. read more
