I love this location. They have the chamomile tea. The ingredients are divine with a little honey and a mint leaf . Service is excellent and the place is cute with plenty of space to sit. Parking can be difficult but overall you can find parking in lot of have to.
Ordered Doordash and my order arrived less than half an hour surprisingly! The carrier that my drinks came in was very sturdy and I really enjoyed the paper packaging. Drinks were a little pricey so expect to pay $7+! I enjoyed that there were ice and sugar adjustments available and milk substitutions at no extra charge! Got the Honey Haze ($7.45) and it was just cold brew with honey and oat milk. I ordered a small with creamy oat milk and medium honey. However, it still seemed a bit too sweet for my preference. The coffee tasted like regular coffee I would get at a convenience store and nothing special. The Iced Coffee Rose ($7.45) was cold brew with a rose cream top. I requested it with light rose oat milk and light sugar. However, it still seemed too sweet. The rose cream top didn't taste floral at all. The coffee was nothing special so I definitely won't recommend. Overall, I was extremely disappointed with my drinks and I felt like the drinks were overpriced so I won't recommend or return unfortunately.
This Philz Coffee is right by my home, and I've been coming here since they opened. I even had the chance to meet Phil at their grand opening. I usually enjoy their pastries, and the staff is always helpful. It's a great place to get some work done on your computer or just relax and enjoy your coffee. I also like getting their Too Good To Go deals, and today I picked up four pastries: a Dubai chocolate croissant, a chocolate chip cookie croissant, a butter croissant, and a blueberry muffin. Such a great deal, and everything tasted delicious! Definitely check this place out when you're in the area.
Stopped by again for a quick iced mint mojito with oatmilk. The drink came out perfectly ! Great ambiance. It's almost always packed so might be hard to get a table. Service was good. Lisa was friendly! Parking is a challenge.
My friend and I stopped by this cute coffee shop while we were waiting for a dinner reservation. I must say, I love walking into a coffee shop and you smell the coffee beans. It just shows how real and quality the coffee is. They have lots of different options and we got the pistachio croissant warmed and wow it was mouth watering! Nonetheless, all the employees here are so friendly, especially Stephanie who was at the cashier at the time. We had a great few minute convo as I was waiting for my pastry.
COVID-19: Social distancing is not enforced at this establishment. Some of the staff wears a mask. All customers are not expected to wear a mask. It's optional now. The staff also wears gloves when handling food. There are some hand sanitizers available for customers to use. This place is available for take outs and has some indoor & outdoor seating available with no limited capacity. They are not sanitizing in between customers. COVID-19 Vaccination Proof: This establishment currently does not require proof of vaccination. While I was grabbing my food from this establishment several days ago, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They currently don't have happy hour. They also do not allow pets in their establishment UNLESS it's a service animal. Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is located behind the building. It's a parking garage. You have to pay for parking UNLESS you can find street parking. Food: I ordered a bacon and egg burrito because I forgot to bring food to work. Paying $9 for a bland burrito with no sauce was pathetic. That's why I decided to remove two stars. One star for the ridiculous price for the small burrito. One star for the blandness of the burrito. The bacon wasn't even crunchy. The eggs had no taste to it at all. Bland. Terrible! The redeeming factor was the staff. The staff made me give this place 3 stars. Staff: The staff here are very friendly, nice, and fast. They accept both cash and credit cards. There is no credit card minimum.
First time at the Philz! We'd come here all the time if we lived closer! Just spent a fun time browsing and shopping at Vroman's bookstore, and felt like we needed a pick-me-up so this coffee shop within walking distance was perfect! Brightly lit indoors and lots of patio seating too. Friendly staff! The chairs are really comfortable. We ordered one hot Ether and iced Ecstatic, both with dark chocolate richness. Looks like based on other Yelp reviews that I'll have to try the Mint Mojito next time!
I was curious to see this Southern California franchise of Philz. As in most Pasadena venues, parking isn't free. Unlike other Philz sites with mostly the floor space in the form of a square, this site is a uniquelly physically "linear" branch, the floor space being like an elongated rectangular area forming one straight line from both end entrances. They also have outdoor sitting. With it's welcoming yellow doors and exterior color concept, its bright and tastefully designed interiors, it easily draws one in to come in and visit, and even stay for a while. It was quiet and relaxing inside, in contrast to the vibrant colors and bright lighting. Tantalizing Turkish, which I regularly order from any Philz I go to, wasn't on their menu board but the kind and friendly cashier stated they do have it. Aside from the cashier, there seemed to be only one more staff - the one who made your ordered coffee. This one didn't seem friendly at all. I didn't mind her lack of congeniality, I was more bothered about her lack of food service hygiene. She had just wiped coffee spill off the counter (where she presents the finished coffee to the customer) with a rag. One could easily guess how often that rag must have been used already, and how moist that rag must be... When I asked for a cover for my cup of coffee, she immediately plopped a plastic cover face down on the same counter where that rag passed. I just asked for another cover instead and quietly requested her to not put it on the counter but just hand it to me. Staff in all branches should really receive training on how to hand over covers for cups to customers. Not all coffee baristas are equal, some really make delicious coffee while some just make it so-so. While I do get good-tasting Tantalizing Turkish coffee from the regular Philz I go to, the one I ordered from this branch just didn't make the cut. All in all, it was still a good experience. At least their interior and exterior design is a hit.
Philz first timer and I came with the intention to order matcha. The matcha I ordered was a regular matcha sweetened with brown sugar and choice of milk but automatically is made with oat milk. The matcha taste seemed to be great quality, although even after stirring the flavor only seemed to be on the top. Typically when I drink matcha and it becomes watered down from ice the flavor is usually still present, however this matcha the flavor didn't last even after the ice melted. Despite those few things I admire how they have an option to also adjust sweetness level. Willing to come back and try other flavors and pastries, but this does have to be a quick sip or order with less ice!
What We Ordered: -Mint Mojito $7.15 -Gingersnap Coffee $7.15 Stephanie was very friendly and attentive, offering helpful recommendations since it was my first time there. I ordered an Iced Mint Mojito, which was amazing - unlike any other coffee I've had. As a mint lover, I absolutely enjoyed the flavor! I also got a Gingersnap coffee for my wife, who prefers hot drinks; she thought it was a bit too sweet, but I really liked the holiday-season flavor, reminding me of warm sweaters and the holidays. I'd definitely return to Philz to try other drinks, but I'd prefer to visit a location with better parking, as there's no street parking nearby and they don't validate. I'll definitely be visiting other Philz locations in the future!
Always love Philz and I always come back!! My go to is the Honey Haze, it's light, mellow, and refreshing but still has a great coffee flavor. Today I tried the new tiramisu sweet and creamy and it's a great new holiday flavor but I think I would get it less sweet next time. The cocoa powder on the top was perfect and I would get it again. The cafe itself has lots of seating, outlets, and WiFi making it a great place to get some work done. I've spent all day here before working remotely and love that the outlets are so convenient and WiFi is strong. Would def recommend coming here and the baristas are always so great as well!
the interior was cozy! always kind of busy whenever i go but it doesn't feel like everything is crammed together. drink is delicious and fair priced, love philz!!
Always made to perfection! Iced tesora with light cream and light sugar. One of my favorite locations of Philz. Service is quick and my drink is always made spot on. I love the outdoor patio this location has. Offing the perfect setup to catch up with friends while getting some vitamin c on my face too.

The coffee is very smooth, definitely recommend having them make it the house way I got the Estatic Iced Coffee and my girlfriend got the Mint Mojito Iced Coffee Both were nice and creamy, no bitterness to the coffee Keep in mind that this location switched to card only, no more cash at the time of this review The ambiance inside is very rustic, it's very home like and comfortable with lots of seating and an outdoor area! read more

I've been going to Philz for years, and every time I've come by is always a pleasant experience. It's a chain that feels like a local Mom & Pop. Even in the rare moments my oder is wrong, the barristas are so kind and helpful. My current favorite coffee is Jacob's Haze! It's a special item, not on their menu. If you haven't had their bagels yet you've gotta try! They taste fresh out of the oven & they're huge! I love philz this place always puts me in a good mood. read more

My family loves coming here for coffee. They said their different types of coffee never disappoints. Their coffee is always full of flavor and always made perfectly. I tried their Plant Powered Breakfast Sandwich for the first time today. The Plant Powered Breakfast Sandwich contains JustEgg, Beyond Meat Sausage Patty, and Daiya cheese between toasted English muffin. I saw that they had a vegan option for their pastries. There's a gender neutral restroom. Employees here were all very nice and they all seem to get along. There was so much positive energy in the room. The only thing I don't like about this location is that it's always so difficult for parking. Avoid the line and wait by placing your order online! read more
I went to this location recently and was impressed with their friendly service and high quality coffee. Hi Gia, we're delighted to hear that you enjoy our cafe ambiance and…
I heard a lot about Philz Coffee and finally stopped in to try it. All the baristas are super nice and will walk you through the menu to find out what kind of coffee you like. They have a variety of dark roast, medium roasts and light roast. Based on what you tell them you prefer, is what they will suggest what you might like. The baristas will also ask you how sweet and how much cream you prefer. Non-dairy cream is at no extra charge :) I decided to try something off their secret menu after I heard another customer order an "oatmeal cookie". It was delicious with pumps of cinnamon syrup, hazelnut and cream. You get to taste your drink before you pay for it to make sure it's perfect. Overall, I loved the customer service and the drink was very tasty. I will definitely be coming back. read more

Cutest Philz ever! They've got a great little set up inside and out as far as seating is concerned. There's a great shared courtyard out front with plenty of benches, chairs, umbrellas, a running fountain and an old red phone booth for photo ops. Alongside the setup is the deliciousness I call Philz. It's my favorite coffee shop on the west coast. I love the simplicity of the pour overs and like that I can mix the roasts, get hot or iced tea if I'm not craving coffee and am always served with a smile and great service. Thank you Philz for always making the stop for coffee well worth it! read more

Love this place. Everyone is so kind, and the coffee quality is probably the best I've had. I thought it was Armenian owned at first- seeing the pakhlava and the zaahtar they use on a lot of their food items - which are middle eastern and Armenian influenced.. Favs here: Coffee- Tesora - hot and creamy with cinnamon and spices in the filter Food: 1) Philz bagel 2) potato and egg breakfast burrito 3) Avocado and egg toast 4) Almond butter and ham toast - extra butter Dessert: Armenian Pakhlava read more

I've been a big fan of Philz since it was a NorCal staple. My go-to drink is the mint mojito iced coffee with an extra half scoop of sugar. Even with the extra sugar, the coffee doesn't become too sweet and I can still taste the bitterness and minty goodness together. For first timers, tell the barista what you would like to order and then go to the register to pay. I don't go to Philz very often so I always make the mistake of waiting at the register. The price tag is definitely high for what it is but Philz is definitely about quality over quantity. For those who like to make their own coffee, they sell their signature beans here too. Each bag costs about $18 and there's always a special each month so a certain bean might be $14. The price of the bean is also expensive but compared to paying $4-5 for a cup of coffee, it's nothing. I've tried both Tesora and Silken Splendor and I prefer Tesora a lot more because it doesn't have a citrusy taste. This Philz is located next to Sugarfish and Lemonade on Lake Ave in Pasadena so parking can suck sometimes and it's definitely not a coffee shop you can hang at for too long. Overall, Philz is your above average coffee shop and is worth trying if you are ever around one! read more
I'm very picky with my coffee and Philz is one of my favorite places to go. I always get the iced mojito coffee, it's soooo good. Their Tesora coffee beans are also very good too! Must try if you like coffee. The service here is also great, a little slower than normal but maybe they're taking their time to make it perfect. :) read more
Good coffee and a nice place to study. This place is especially great for decaf coffee drinkers because they offer dark, medium, and light roast decaf options, which I've never had anywhere else. I got the iced decaf light roast and it was a refreshing drink on a hot day. There are tables throughout the coffee shop and many have plugs installed for convenient charging. Their music isn't too distracting and goes well with doing work. It's not the cleanest but also isn't that bad. The service is quick and friendly. read more

Thank you for your kind words, Michelle! At Philz, we strive to…
This was my first time at the Pasadena location. My bf and I had errands to run in the morning around the area so we decided to stop by for some coffee. Luckily, street parking was available when we arrived, but I can totally see how it'll suck as the day goes by. I ordered my go-to mint mojito iced coffee. It was absolutely delicious; milky, creamy, minty, and a tad sweet. Baristas are also super willing to assist in the adjustment of the coffee to make sure customers are happy. My bf ordered the avocado toast with sliced hard boiled eggs laid on top of the smashed avocado. It was expensive, but definitely worth the money. Hearty and filling even when we're sharing. Overall, I highly recommend coming to Philz Coffee in the morning for breakfast. read more

Not the biggest fan of the iced mint mojito that most people rave about, however, I'd have the Philtered Soul any day! Love that they have contactless payment and pickup options, and are very organized. Very convenient and easy especially since they have their app that allows anyone to order ahead. Highly recommend! read more

Hello Gina, your kind words made our day at Philz! It's wonderful to…
If you enjoy independent coffee shops, then you are definitely a friend of mine. Philz is such a place. I visit my home town every year at this time. When I travel I want to quickly put my finger on the pulse of a community. Philz offers you the wrist from a rolled up sleeve. You can't do that in a drive-through. You'll like Philz. Like my favorite shops in my region, Philz customers know what they want and get it. I walk in during the evening rush and it's hard to find a table, but it is library quiet. Even friends who clearly came together are close and engaged but dialed in to their work. There is almost a reverence to this place. Strangers are comfortable sitting in close quarters. You can smell the quality of the beans as you walk in the door. The baristas are friendly in a way that you can tell it's not about being punished for overlooking you. They didn't memorize top greetings from a manual. They feel it. They really want you to know that you are noticed and appreciated. My mocha was rich, warm and creamy on this cool evening. My chocolate chip cookie was fresh--made at a place where someone cared. It wasn't packaged, frozen and then thawed. Philz gets it right...so will you. read more

Kevin, we are touched by your thoughtful words about Philz Coffee.…
As someone who moved back to LA from the Bay area, I was excited when I found out that there's a Philz Coffee in Pasadena. The standard Mint Mojito (sweet & creamy) was as delicious as I remembered it. One thing to note is that their caffeine is pretty strong, so their drinks always gives me the jitters. Parking was a little bit of a headache on the street. The store is nestled with other smaller local stores. The inside space at this Philz isn't really great for studying/working, because there's only one long table. read more

Hi Tiff,…
Drink: I got the Large hot tesoro for $5.25, the size is HUGE. I mean, some places charge the same for a much smaller size. I definitely like the ice tesoro better. The hot tesoro had this bitter aftertaste that I didn't like. Parking: Free 15 min parking in the "back" of the store (cordova st. and shoppers lane). Ordering: mobile ordering only! It was super easy and it tells you when your drink is ready to pick up. You can also customize your drink in the app as well. read more

This place is always packed!! Be expected to wait about a good 10-30 minutes depending on the day. I always mobile order and the app allows you to know when your drink is ready for pick up. These baristas are very nice and helpful! I made a mistake on my mobile order and they kindly fixed it! I love Philz and the vibe they give!! Always making my drinks so bomb! read more

Hows the parking?
