I love this location. They have the chamomile tea. The ingredients are divine with a little honey and a mint leaf . Service is excellent and the place is cute with plenty of space to sit. Parking can be difficult but overall you can find parking in lot of have to.
Ordered Doordash and my order arrived less than half an hour surprisingly! The carrier that my drinks came in was very sturdy and I really enjoyed the paper packaging. Drinks were a little pricey so expect to pay $7+! I enjoyed that there were ice and sugar adjustments available and milk substitutions at no extra charge! Got the Honey Haze ($7.45) and it was just cold brew with honey and oat milk. I ordered a small with creamy oat milk and medium honey. However, it still seemed a bit too sweet for my preference. The coffee tasted like regular coffee I would get at a convenience store and nothing special. The Iced Coffee Rose ($7.45) was cold brew with a rose cream top. I requested it with light rose oat milk and light sugar. However, it still seemed too sweet. The rose cream top didn't taste floral at all. The coffee was nothing special so I definitely won't recommend. Overall, I was extremely disappointed with my drinks and I felt like the drinks were overpriced so I won't recommend or return unfortunately.
This Philz Coffee is right by my home, and I've been coming here since they opened. I even had the chance to meet Phil at their grand opening. I usually enjoy their pastries, and the staff is always helpful. It's a great place to get some work done on your computer or just relax and enjoy your coffee. I also like getting their Too Good To Go deals, and today I picked up four pastries: a Dubai chocolate croissant, a chocolate chip cookie croissant, a butter croissant, and a blueberry muffin. Such a great deal, and everything tasted delicious! Definitely check this place out when you're in the area.
Stopped by again for a quick iced mint mojito with oatmilk. The drink came out perfectly ! Great ambiance. It's almost always packed so might be hard to get a table. Service was good. Lisa was friendly! Parking is a challenge.
My friend and I stopped by this cute coffee shop while we were waiting for a dinner reservation. I must say, I love walking into a coffee shop and you smell the coffee beans. It just shows how real and quality the coffee is. They have lots of different options and we got the pistachio croissant warmed and wow it was mouth watering! Nonetheless, all the employees here are so friendly, especially Stephanie who was at the cashier at the time. We had a great few minute convo as I was waiting for my pastry.
COVID-19: Social distancing is not enforced at this establishment. Some of the staff wears a mask. All customers are not expected to wear a mask. It's optional now. The staff also wears gloves when handling food. There are some hand sanitizers available for customers to use. This place is available for take outs and has some indoor & outdoor seating available with no limited capacity. They are not sanitizing in between customers. COVID-19 Vaccination Proof: This establishment currently does not require proof of vaccination. While I was grabbing my food from this establishment several days ago, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They currently don't have happy hour. They also do not allow pets in their establishment UNLESS it's a service animal. Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is located behind the building. It's a parking garage. You have to pay for parking UNLESS you can find street parking. Food: I ordered a bacon and egg burrito because I forgot to bring food to work. Paying $9 for a bland burrito with no sauce was pathetic. That's why I decided to remove two stars. One star for the ridiculous price for the small burrito. One star for the blandness of the burrito. The bacon wasn't even crunchy. The eggs had no taste to it at all. Bland. Terrible! The redeeming factor was the staff. The staff made me give this place 3 stars. Staff: The staff here are very friendly, nice, and fast. They accept both cash and credit cards. There is no credit card minimum.
First time at the Philz! We'd come here all the time if we lived closer! Just spent a fun time browsing and shopping at Vroman's bookstore, and felt like we needed a pick-me-up so this coffee shop within walking distance was perfect! Brightly lit indoors and lots of patio seating too. Friendly staff! The chairs are really comfortable. We ordered one hot Ether and iced Ecstatic, both with dark chocolate richness. Looks like based on other Yelp reviews that I'll have to try the Mint Mojito next time!
I was curious to see this Southern California franchise of Philz. As in most Pasadena venues, parking isn't free. Unlike other Philz sites with mostly the floor space in the form of a square, this site is a uniquelly physically "linear" branch, the floor space being like an elongated rectangular area forming one straight line from both end entrances. They also have outdoor sitting. With it's welcoming yellow doors and exterior color concept, its bright and tastefully designed interiors, it easily draws one in to come in and visit, and even stay for a while. It was quiet and relaxing inside, in contrast to the vibrant colors and bright lighting. Tantalizing Turkish, which I regularly order from any Philz I go to, wasn't on their menu board but the kind and friendly cashier stated they do have it. Aside from the cashier, there seemed to be only one more staff - the one who made your ordered coffee. This one didn't seem friendly at all. I didn't mind her lack of congeniality, I was more bothered about her lack of food service hygiene. She had just wiped coffee spill off the counter (where she presents the finished coffee to the customer) with a rag. One could easily guess how often that rag must have been used already, and how moist that rag must be... When I asked for a cover for my cup of coffee, she immediately plopped a plastic cover face down on the same counter where that rag passed. I just asked for another cover instead and quietly requested her to not put it on the counter but just hand it to me. Staff in all branches should really receive training on how to hand over covers for cups to customers. Not all coffee baristas are equal, some really make delicious coffee while some just make it so-so. While I do get good-tasting Tantalizing Turkish coffee from the regular Philz I go to, the one I ordered from this branch just didn't make the cut. All in all, it was still a good experience. At least their interior and exterior design is a hit.
Philz first timer and I came with the intention to order matcha. The matcha I ordered was a regular matcha sweetened with brown sugar and choice of milk but automatically is made with oat milk. The matcha taste seemed to be great quality, although even after stirring the flavor only seemed to be on the top. Typically when I drink matcha and it becomes watered down from ice the flavor is usually still present, however this matcha the flavor didn't last even after the ice melted. Despite those few things I admire how they have an option to also adjust sweetness level. Willing to come back and try other flavors and pastries, but this does have to be a quick sip or order with less ice!
What We Ordered: -Mint Mojito $7.15 -Gingersnap Coffee $7.15 Stephanie was very friendly and attentive, offering helpful recommendations since it was my first time there. I ordered an Iced Mint Mojito, which was amazing - unlike any other coffee I've had. As a mint lover, I absolutely enjoyed the flavor! I also got a Gingersnap coffee for my wife, who prefers hot drinks; she thought it was a bit too sweet, but I really liked the holiday-season flavor, reminding me of warm sweaters and the holidays. I'd definitely return to Philz to try other drinks, but I'd prefer to visit a location with better parking, as there's no street parking nearby and they don't validate. I'll definitely be visiting other Philz locations in the future!
Always love Philz and I always come back!! My go to is the Honey Haze, it's light, mellow, and refreshing but still has a great coffee flavor. Today I tried the new tiramisu sweet and creamy and it's a great new holiday flavor but I think I would get it less sweet next time. The cocoa powder on the top was perfect and I would get it again. The cafe itself has lots of seating, outlets, and WiFi making it a great place to get some work done. I've spent all day here before working remotely and love that the outlets are so convenient and WiFi is strong. Would def recommend coming here and the baristas are always so great as well!
the interior was cozy! always kind of busy whenever i go but it doesn't feel like everything is crammed together. drink is delicious and fair priced, love philz!!
Always made to perfection! Iced tesora with light cream and light sugar. One of my favorite locations of Philz. Service is quick and my drink is always made spot on. I love the outdoor patio this location has. Offing the perfect setup to catch up with friends while getting some vitamin c on my face too.

Spacious and cute! I loved this Philz location because of how much work space it has! It's quite busy and can get a little loud, but it was a nice space to get work done. The Philtered Soul has a hazelnut taste which I LOVED , there's something special about the coffee at Philz. There's a lot of seating outside at the Commons, so make sure to stop by and get your coffee fix here! read more
I always make it a point to stop by Philz Coffee when I visit California, and it's always a delight. The Philtered Soul is still delicious, but I don't remember it being this sweet. I didn't ask for it to be served sweet, but I guess I did not specifically tell them to serve it sans sweeteners. This spot, right by the shops on Lake Avenue, is a cute and quaint location. They have benches and tables outside with their iconic yellow umbrellas and teak outdoor patio set. Check it out if you're in the area, but if you're like me, let them know to leave off the sweeteners. read more

Loves to support stores that contribute to fighting food waste. To achieve this, they inspire and empower everyone to save food together through Too Good To Go. Putting up surprise bags filled with delicious pastries/bread that the store has left at the end of the day at a discounted price. For $4.40, I received 2 butter croissants, one chocolate chip cookie, and one cinnamon walnut muffin. Everything was fresh and delicious and it also gets me into trying some of their food items that I can later pair with my daily coffee. It's a win-win! read more

wow I can now understand the feelings how coffee can ruin anyones day and it sure hit me on that. My usual order from other Philz is mint mojito coffee that runs over $6 per Joe and it was quite creamy. The one I ordered here via their app was absolutely trash. The mint mojito tasted so bland that I felt I ordered coffee from McDonalds. They weren't busy and I felt they made it in a rush. This Philz can do better. read more

Love this location! I live near by so I walk here sometimes. It's located along the busy strip on lake in a cute little outdoor patio enclosed by a couple businesses. There is free wifi and plenty of outdoor seating. A great place to get some work done and not miss out on some fantastic weather! The coffee is great. Never have any complaints. I stick within the realm of light roasts. My favorite is dancing water I believe. Great place to get some work done and have a yummy cup of coffee! read more

Super cold in here and bathrooms can use more attention! Besides that, service is good and coffees are so scrumptious. I recently got the honey haze iced coffee and my man got the mint mojito iced coffee! The mint mojito one was light cream and light sweeter and it was so good. I couldn't stop stealing it from him I could've gotten my honey haze light on cream and sugar and I would've loved it just as much. Good little study spot read more

We appreciate your detailed review, Soraya! It's great to know you…
Their Mint Mojito Iced Coffee is hands down my fav! This concoction is a blend of good coffee, minty fresh, and sweetness of the cream, creating a truly refreshing experience for your taste buds. From the moment you take your first sip, it creates a balance and flavorful combination that is satisfying. With this drink, you have the freedom to tailor your drink to your liking, but i prefer it slightly sweeter or with an extra kick of mint. The baristas are always ready to accommodate your preferences. They are all so friendly! Not only does the Mint Mojito Iced Coffee provide a much-needed pick-me-up, but it also serves as a delightful treat on a hot summer day or a refreshing indulgence any time of the year. Whether you're a coffee aficionado or simply looking to try something new, this beverage is sure to leave a lasting impression. Good place for studying and hanging out read more

Going to Philz is like going to LAX. They have what you need but you do not ever want to return. Philz, like waiting to board a plane for 20-30 minutes. Btw your drink is wrong when you get in the car. Maybe chalk it up to various experiences here, but I'm positive that this is equal parts cheesy, odd, and corporate. read more

My favorite coffee chain. Unfortunately, I don't have a Philz close to me and I have to make a 30-minute trek to the nearest location, which is this one. It's definitely worth it in my opinion, though. I always get the iced rosé latte, which is just amazing. It absolutely nails the rose flavor and it's not too overwhelming or too subtle with it. It's perfect! Great coffee, and it's not ridiculously expensive either. The prices aren't too different from Starbucks and the quality far surpasses it. If you've never stopped by a Philz, and you love coffee, I highly encourage you to give it a try. Anything on the menu that sounds enticing to you, try it and I can guarantee you'll love it. Looking forward to my next visit! read more

The great thing about Philz is every location consistently provides great service along with amazing coffee. This location is great for studying or getting some work done. The ambiance is quiet and cozy. On a nice day, you can sit outside in the commons courtyard. There's also a lemonade in the same plaza, so this is a great remote work option. read more

I'm not much of a coffee person and usually prefer teas but I love love the iced mint mojito coffee here. It is the perfect sweetness and creaminess. No other coffee shop can match the flavor of their mint coffee. With the pandemic they have safety measures in place. Download the app and place your order. When you arrive they have your order placed in an organized fashion for pickup. They changed their process. They used to ask for your name and the drinks were behind the counter but they have since changed their setup. You can walk in and look for your name to pick up your drink/food, 2 customers at a time in the store. read more

When I think of Philz Coffee, I think of a consistently satisfy cup of Iced Mint Mojito coffee no matter which location I visit. This location of Philz Coffee was no different. Tucked away in the cute "Commons" area off Lake Ave in Pasadena, there is a comfy intellectual vibe inside the coffee shop as well as outdoor seating in the Commons courtyard area, depending on what you prefer. I opted to get my drink to go. Just like all the Philz locations, you order at the counter area with your barista. I love their Iced Mint Mojito coffee, sweet and creamy. You order here first and then go to the cashier to pay while the barista makes your drink. There is a nice long bench you can sit down at while you wait. My friendly barista was quick so I did not have to wait too long. She was super friendly and informed me that she can change it if I needed adjustments. Fortunately it was already perfect. I love that cup of sweet and creamy Iced Mint Mojito and I can drink this at any time of the day. It was exactly what I needed to get through the night. I took my coffee with me on my stroll up and down Lake Ave and it was the perfect redemption cup of latte I needed, since I had a subpar cup of coffee moments earlier and I just needed a REAL cup of coffee to make up for it. read more

Finally, got to try out the Philz Coffee Pasadena location. Thank goodness there's a closer location to me now. Philz Coffee is located in "The Commons" on Lake Avenue in Pasadena behind Lemonade/Drybar, and right next to SUGARFISH. COVID-19 Safety Procedures: Staffers wore face masks, hand sanitizers are available and social distancing practiced. Their dining room is open. There's a large communal table to immediate right upon entrance, and I saw a girl sitting there with her laptop. If you're not comfortable dining inside, there's also benches, tables and chairs outside too. However, most patrons take their food and drinks to go. Mobile App Order: Loooove it!!! I placed my food and drink order and was able to pick it up at the promised, designated time. You can also customize your drink to suit your dietary needs. As you get closer to your time frame, your app will notify you which barista is preparing your food and drink. You'll go inside and look for the sticker(s) labeled with your name, drink and/or food, and pickup time, which will be placed in front of your barista. You can also order inside the coffee shop too. Previous COVID-19 restrictions, you were only able to order via the mobile app. $6.25 Iced Mojito (Large 20oz) - An oldie, but goodie! Usually, I would go with the normal version made, but decided to be good and made it lighter (Light Cream, Light Splenda), which tasted just as amazing! Refreshing, minty and soothing! Wide-eyed and bushy-tailed now, heheh! Thank you again, Cierra! $5.95 Bacon & Egg Breakfast Burrito: Hot and delicious! Generously filled with scrambled eggs, cheddar, potatoes and bacon. Served with two packets of Tapaito. A great start to my morning, yay! Overall, I'm a fan of this San Francisco's coffee chain. Got my eye on the next following drinks: Iced Coffee Rose, Mocha Tersora (Chocolate Lover's Delight) and Philtered Soul (Hazelnut Lover's Delight). read more
The coffee here is such high quality! It's the first time I've been asked to choose the proportion of the cream and sugar for a specialty drink, and wow I was amazed with the taste! I got the Philtered Soul and you can definitely taste the hazelnut aftertaste that is promised in their description. Very tasty! They are popular for a good reason. I'm excited to try out other flavors next time! read more
