Large mint mojito iced coffee is my very basic go to. I recall a time from 2013-2015 when I drank this same drink every other day as a replacement to kick another addiction I was trying to recover from. Back then Philz wasn't readily available throughout SoCal, probably just DTLA and Santa Monica. I'm happy to see so many locations open up in SoCal. I realize since there's so many locations now I tend to think about Philz less since it's so readily accessible. Still a classic tho! read more

I usually prefer espresso beverages over brewed coffee, but the way Philz makes their drinks makes me not miss the extra caffeine that espresso affords! I've had the chance to try a number of different blends at Philz--some of the standouts to me are the Ecstatic, Tesora, and Philtered Soul. Philz is typically fairly busy, so you will have to wait for your drink, but it is definitely worth it. Likewise, if you don't mind the hustle and bustle of the space with so many people being there, it can be a great place to get work done. read more

TLDR = Pass by after having brunch for a pick me, then continue exploring the shops of Old Towne Orange Exterior = 3/5 Philz is located in Old Towne Orange, so you can imagine this place gets busy. For parking, you either can park along the streets (which are shared with many other eateries nearby), or you can park in front of the store. If you choose directly in front of the store, that is for mobile pick up only, though I do not know if it is monitored heavily because when I was picking up my order I didn't see too many people running in to pick up and leave. I was lucky we scoped out a many who was leaving and took the spot, if not we feared we had to brave the streets on a weekend lunch time. There is a couple seats outside but from what I saw more people sit inside since the location is like an open air with a covered patio style. Interior = 4/5 As mentioned earlier, it is like an open air patio style, but there is some seating in a room next to the coffee bar with lots of windows and a door. I did like the look of this since it was not like the traditional style of coffee shop which is more closed. Allowed for some movement of the air and just chatting while enjoying the weather. Service = 4/5 I approached the barista asking if I could pick up my drink. I guess since the open patio it was hard to hear me, so I was just told if my drink is there I can take it. Normally they are a little more cheerful and check on how the drink is, but I guess it might have been busy so I chalk this experience up to a busy weekend lunch. Order = 3/5 I got my usual honey sweetened iced Tesora extra creamy. It felt a little lighter in flavor the other times I have had it. I know generally Philz can make it different depending on the barista preparing. I did like how creamy it was. My husband felt his a little lacking as well. Overall = 3.5/5 The location is cute, but be prepared to walk to the location if you plan to take a seat or just drive up and do mobile pick up. I will try to swing by and give this another chance next time I am in the area. I came here since my usual OC location of Fullerton was closed - but if the other location is open I prefer there since there was more parking and drive through pick up. Philz is my go-to coffee shop in Olde Towne Orange. This one has a laid back vibe, the color scheme inside is very fun and invigorating; it's not a drab boring coffee house in the slightest (sorry SBUX) my favorite is the iced rosé and the tesora. Their iced mint is always a classic, if you're a mint feind like me you'll never get tired of it. Their pastries are all good, like you're lucky if you get there after noon and they still have some. The cashiers and the baristas are super laid back and friendly people. Very patient and they make sure the drink is exactly what you were in the mood for. Shout out to the super rude employee gal who snapped at me when I said I was in the bathroom. She yelled at me "LoCk the DoOr nExT tImE" - and I said, "I had tried and it wasn't working." I normally love Philz employees but this one needs some training. I was a barista for a decade in college and never once snapped at customers or behaved like that. My first Philz Coffee experience and what a joy it was to experience it at this location in Orange. The brew was smooth and delicious and the drink was crafted perfectly. I ended up trying one of their current specials, an Iced Coffee Rose'. It had just the right amount of sweetness, was fantastically creamy, and had a hint of rose taste with each sip. It was a perfect blend and not too overpowering. I loved the drink and may be hooked. The Philz Coffee in Orange has a modern and open storefront design. The building itself seems conducive for busy hours in which the layout looks like it promotes an easy flow of customers moving through the inside to order and pickup drinks. There is seating both inside and outside for customers to utilize. There is also a small parking lot with plenty of street parking surrounding the building. I had little interaction with the staff since I placed my order through the app. However, my drink was promptly ready at the time that was quoted and it was made to the specifications I had asked. No complaints. Very easy process. I am now a fan of Philz Coffee because of this location in Orange (they made a strong first impression) and look forward to returning soon to try more of their drinks. read more

Stopped by here on a recent visit- and wasn't expecting much. It looked like a typical coffee chain from the outside, but there was a line of people so I figured it had to be decent. Menu is pretty simple and not overwhelming and my aunt who took me recommended the rose coffee. This place is located in downtown Orange, near Chapman University. This place is always busy and the online ordering seems the way to go. Everybody orders and shows up to pick up their drink. It's nice they put a Philz in this area! If you live around here there's no reason to go anywhere or drive far for food. They have almost all different kinds of good food and drinks here! That aside, this is a rather unique Philz. Or maybe I haven't been to Philz lately but I thought you usually line up for barista first and they make your drink then you go pay. This location you line up to pay like the rest of other coffee shop and you just wait for your drink. There are plenty of places inside to sit/work/study and a few table outside. There is a small parking for the coffee shop in front, mostly for phone orders. Food and drinks are consistent with other Philz location, but for my Mint Mojito, I definitely got a piece of grass in my drink lol read more

Philz Coffee finally opened in Orange, a few months too late for me because my office is no longer in Orange. I could see myself here a few times a week if I still worked in the area. Located in the Old Towne Orange area, this Philz is north of the Orange circle and they have a killer location because they have their own parking lot. Covid Safety - I was able to order through their app and my order was ready for me by the time I arrived. Clearly labelled 6 feet distancing markers and one way traffic arrows. Face mask enforced. I ordered my glorious large Mint Mojito ($6.25) creamy cream, regular sweetness and ice. It was absolutely perfect. If you ever feel like your beverage needs adjustment, it is the Philz' promise to fix your drink to your liking. I have been to many of their locations and they consistently deliver every single cup of coffee I have ever ordered. Awesome location. Finally decided to be a little social tonight with my sisters and saw this place in the Orange Circle. Coffee at anytime is a win win for me. But ask me tomorrow because I'm wide awake and its after 10pm. Anyways the line was a turn off so as we were walking to the restaurant I whipped out my phone, fired up the app and BOOM I was given a 10 minute pick up time. Unfortunately with COVID the drill here is a little different when it comes to coffee. No more interactions or taste testing. You just order and wait and hope its right. Great coffee, great staff, always dependable; Philz is part of my daily routine. Only thing not so great is... the cups. Yes, the paper and plastic thing containing the coffee. It's just that 1 out of every 9 or so visits, it doesn't do a great job containing it. It's usually due to the cap not fitting well, or an incomplete seal at the bottom. Drip drip as my car seat would attest. HQ should push for better quality control with the manufacturer, because right now it's more like quabity assuance. read more

Yikes, less than 10 minutes from work... bad idea. LOL. Prime location in the Orange Circle (close to Pizza Press & Sonshine). I came on a Monday around 2PM and it wasn't that crowded. I'm more of a tea person than coffee. But how can you go to Philz without ordering their Mint Mojito Iced Coffee? So I trusted my barista, Jerevi, to make the perfect decaf concoction for me. He made me a decaf mint mojito sweet and creamy with oat milk & it was amazing. Major kudos to him for helping me out. Amazing customer service. I now have a new go to drink here that's not tea! Perfect mid day pick me upper for a long shift at work. Can't wait to try more drinks and pastries next time. It is recommended you order through the app and pick it up. Love love Philz coffee! My first time was trying it in the Bay Area by a friend. Once it was in Orange I kept coming in! Service and food always great! My only complaint is the 10 min mobile parking! People don't seem to follow that. So I have to park somewhere else it's convenient when you're in a hurry since you can get it and leave. I had to park behind someone since there wasn't anywhere to park. I didn't want to be that person but I had no choice unfortunately. i stop here before work for my morning coffee and service is pretty quick! even though their menu isn't extensive, i love that all of their lattes are creative flavors and tasteful, esp the seasonal ones :-) i especially love that they are flexible let you bring a reusable cup to reduce waste, and you get a bit of a discount if you use it! read more
