We called 41 Seven Off Road and were told by Jimmy to call the manufacturer. We called them and were on the phone for an hour and finally they sent us to an authorized dealer. Both the manufacturer and authorized dealer said the top was installed improperly. Manufacturer will not cover warranty and 41Seven Off-road says it's not their fault. Erich took the time to listen to my nasty noises and troubleshoot with me at no profit to him. A few weeks later, my friend still couldn't get the tranny fixed and I decided it was time to take my car out of my friend's garage and in to Schmidt. Erich explained my problems and showed me the cause of the malfunction. Furthermore, he spent time with me and explained what I can do at home should the problem reoccur. This week, the culprit reared its head again. I tempted my hand at tending to the tranny, but was having trouble. I went to Erich and he gave me the tool I needed to finish the job! If you can find a mechanic that will show you what you need to do to maintain your tranny at home and then give you the tools to do it yourself, then I think you've found a winner. The garage appears well maintained. Schmidt is personable and professional. He made me feel respected (unlike those condescending mechanics). I gave them the go ahead and less than two hours later they called to say it was done. They also texted an app to me, making the credit card payment process super easy. Well when we got the car back; there wasn't any blending done. Okay...what? So the owner stated it wasn't part of the quote. Even with this we said fine. We brought the car back a few months later to get the blending done at an extra expense. Maybe our first experience was just a fluke. No it wasn't. Upon them having our car for a week, and no return phone calls on when the work was to be complete, the owner being disrespectful, we learned it wasn't a fluke. There were so many issues with the second repair, from the owners lack of communication to even threatening an extra tow charge (which we drove it there) since the husband had paid and picked up the keys and couldn't have someone help him pick it up until the next day.
